Reshiram has three separate Japanese Pokémon Card Game appearances that a shopper could easily confuse: a Super Rare promo reproduced in the Promo Card Pack 25th ANNIVERSARY edition (S8a-P 020/025), a brand-new print in 2026’s 30th CELEBRATION (008/103), and the card this guide is actually about — Reshiram 010/028, a regular print in 25th ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION (S8a), released on October 22, 2021.
This guide lays out what makes S8a 010/028 its own card: its attacks, its illustrator, how it differs in both numbering and content from its 30th CELEBRATION namesake, and what’s currently listed for it on our site.
Reshiram S8a 010/028 is a Fire-type Basic Pokémon, 130 HP, illustrated by Aya Kusube, with two attacks that reference its partner Zekrom. A separate, newer Reshiram print exists in 30th CELEBRATION at 008/103. No PSA 10 single of the S8a 010/028 print is currently listed on our site. S8a 010/028 vs the 30th CELEBRATION Reshiram
Reshiram’s species turns up twice across these two anniversary sets, and they are not the same card. S8a 010/028, covered here, is a 2021 print illustrated by Aya Kusube, numbered against 全28種類, the official pool figure for the set. A different, newer Reshiram sits at 008/103 in 2026’s 30th CELEBRATION (M6a). That one is also a Fire-type Basic with 130 HP, but its text is entirely its own: Slash for [{R}{C}] at 50 damage, and Laser Flame for [{R}{C}{C}] at 80 damage plus 80 more if any Lightning Energy is attached to it, with Water weakness ×2 and a two-Energy retreat cost (card text per PokeBeach’s September 9, 2026 translation). The numbering conventions differ too: S8a numbers its cards against 全28種類, the official pool figure, with 25 numbered database entries and eight unnumbered basic Energy prints, while 30th CELEBRATION’s main set runs 001–103 before its Classic Collection and secret-rare blocks. A card numbered 010/028 and a card numbered 008/103 simply belong to two different counting systems five years apart — there’s no shared print between them. The two share a species, a type and a 130 HP line, and not one line of attack text: the S8a card’s bonus condition keys off Zekrom on the Bench, the 30th card’s off Lightning Energy attached to itself. The S8a Card: HP, Attacks and the Zekrom Link
The Pokédex panel reads, verbatim: “No.643 はくようポケモン / 高さ：3.2 m 重さ：330.0 kg / レシラムの 尻尾が 燃えると 熱エネルギーで 大気が 動いて 世界の 天気が 変化する。” Our rendering: Reshiram is Dex No. 643, the Vast White Pokémon, 3.2 m tall and 330.0 kg; when its tail burns, the heat energy moves the atmosphere and the world’s weather changes.

- [{R}{R}{C}] Black Flame — 80+ (ブラックフレイム) — JP, verbatim: “自分のベンチに「ゼクロム」がいるなら、80ダメージ追加。” Our rendering: If you have Zekrom on your Bench, this attack does 80 more damage.
Black Flame is where the comparison story gets interesting: the card’s own text names Zekrom directly, rewarding a deck that runs both. Zekrom sits right next to Reshiram at 011/028, and its own attack, White Thunder, returns the favour by naming Reshiram. Every basic Energy type has an S8a print of its own: eight cards in all, each listed in the database with no card number, the Fire one included.
Reshiram Inside the S8a Checklist
The card database only carries pages for 25 numbered S8a cards, 001/028 through 025/028, plus eight basic Energy cards printed with no number at all. Reshiram and Zekrom are the set’s Unova pair, numbered 010/028 and 011/028 back to back, sharing the Aya Kusube credit and a 130 HP line, and each written to reward having the other on the Bench. Reshiram is also one of only two Fire-type cards among the numbered entries — the other is Ho-Oh at 004/028, a 130 HP Basic credited to Kouki Saitou, whose attacks are Sacred Fire and Fire Blast. Neither Reshiram nor Zekrom carries an evolution-panel entry, while Ho-Oh’s page lists a BREAK card above it.
The official product page separately describes the set as 全28種類 (28 kinds), five holo cards dealt at random per ¥297 pack. Numbers 026/028 through 028/028 are not separate database entries. One secret rare does have a database page of its own: the 029/028 Professor’s Research SR, credited to Ken Sugimori, carrying the same Supporter text as the regular 003/028 print.
The Other Reshiram Prints in the 25th Anniversary Line
Beyond this S8a 010/028 print, Reshiram’s species also appears as S8a-P 020/025, part of the Promo Card Pack 25th ANNIVERSARY edition. That’s a Super Rare reproduction the official 25th anniversary site describes, verbatim, as 「豪華に光り輝くSR（スーパーレア）！カードいっぱいに描かれたレシラムが美しい！」 — a lavishly shining SR whose artwork covers the whole card. Because S8a-P cards were never entered into the official card database, no HP, attacks or illustrator credit can be quoted for that promo print from an official source; our own S8a-P 020/025 Reshiram promo guide covers what is confirmed for it.
So within the 25th Anniversary line alone, Reshiram has two distinct prints (010/028 and S8a-P 020/025), and a third, unrelated print exists in 30th CELEBRATION. None of the three shares card text with either of the others. That’s worth keeping straight when shopping: a listing simply labelled “Reshiram 25th Anniversary” could mean either the S8a 010/028 regular print or the S8a-P 020/025 promo, and the two look and read quite differently — one a standard holo Basic with its own HP and attacks, the other a full-card SR illustration whose text isn’t in the official database at all.
