MEGA Charizard Y ex MUR Style 766/742 (メガリザードンYex) is the card numbered above the 742 base cards of the Japanese product ポケモンカードゲーム MEGA スタートデッキ100 バトルコレクション (MEGA Start Deck 100 Battle Collection). The official card database lists it as 766/742 with 360 HP, a three-Prize knockout rule and the illustrator credit aky CG Works. This guide separates what the official database prints from what the market and our own listing names add on top.
We sell Japanese sealed product and graded singles from Tokyo. The store figures below are our listed prices, converted at ¥154/USD (approximate), and the dated facts come from the official pages named in each section.
- The official database prints card 766/742 for メガリザードンYex: HP 360, Stage 2 (2進化), illustrator aky CG Works. It prints no rarity letters, so “MUR” is a market label, used here only as our listing names it.
- The 766/742 is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥997,109 (~$6,475), sourced to order. The regular-art print, which our listing names MC 085/742, is offered as a back order at ¥16,379 (~$106).
- The deck itself is random (100 kinds, two or more ex included in every deck per the official page), so buying a deck is not a way to target this card.
- The deck-number and rarity details that circulate for 766/742 are reported by fan sites, not printed by the official database. Each is attributed below.
What the Official Database Prints for 766/742
The Pokémon Card Game database on pokemon-card.com has a detail page for メガリザードンYex numbered 766/742 in the set MC. The page gives a handful of fields, and they are the only ones this guide treats as official.
| Field | Official database value |
|---|---|
| Name as printed | メガリザードンYex |
| Number and set | 766/742, set code MC (MEGA スタートデッキ100 バトルコレクション) |
| HP | 360 |
| Stage | 2進化 (Stage 2) |
| Attack | プロージョンY |
| Knockout rule | When this Pokémon is Knocked Out, the opponent takes 3 Prize cards |
| Illustrator | aky CG Works |
| Rarity field | Not displayed on the database page |
Two points are worth stating plainly. First, the number 766 is higher than the 742 printed as the set denominator, so the card sits outside the 001 to 742 base numbering. Second, the database shows the regulation mark only as a set-logo image, so we do not assert a mark letter for this card; what the official notice of November 7, 2025 does confirm is that the J mark debuted in this product.
The Card Text, Rendered
The database page prints one attack and a knockout rule. Our rendering of the Japanese text is below; the English attack name is a rendering, not an official localisation.
| Name (as printed) | Type | Effect, rendered |
|---|---|---|
| プロージョンY | Attack | Discard 3 Energy, then deal 280 damage to 1 of the opponent’s Pokémon (rendering). |
| Rule text | Knockout rule | If this Pokémon is Knocked Out, the opponent takes 3 Prize cards (rendering). |
That is the whole of what we render. The database page for this card is the place to read the full printed wording, and we do not generalise this card’s text to other cards of the run. Because the printed knockout rule hands over three Prize cards and a game is won by taking six, the rule matters when you read the card: the official how-to-play page says the first player to take 6 Prize cards wins.
Deck-building rules are covered by the same official page: a deck is 60 cards, a deck may hold up to four cards of the same name, and basic Energy cards are exempt from that limit. A Stage 2 Pokémon such as this one needs its earlier stages in the deck to be played; the official wording is that to use an evolution Pokémon you need the basic Pokémon it evolves from.
What “MUR Style” Means and Does Not Mean
Our listing for this card reads “PSA10 MEGA Charizard Y ex MUR Style [MC 766/742]”. The “MUR Style” wording follows the market labels used by Japanese card shops and wiki sites for the high-number cards of this product. cardrush-pokemon.jp and premium.gamepedia.jp use labels of this kind (AR Style, SR Style, SAR Style, MUR Style) for MC 743 to 766, and the official database page shows none of them.
So the accurate statement is two-part. The card is 766/742 and credits aky CG Works; and, as our listing names it, the print is a “MUR Style” card. We do not describe the print by a rarity letter on our own authority, and we do not claim the official database confirms the label. If a seller quotes a rarity letter for this card, the database page will not back it up and the listing name is the only place it comes from.
The same caution applies to the neighbouring numbers. The official database confirms the existence and details of 743, 749, 755, 764, 765 and 766; the style labels attached to them are market vocabulary. The next sections keep the two sources apart.
The Product: MEGA Start Deck 100 Battle Collection
The card belongs to a starter-deck product, not an expansion pack. The official page and notices give the following facts about it.
| 商品 | Fact | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Product name | ポケモンカードゲーム MEGA スタートデッキ100 バトルコレクション | pokemon-card.com product page |
| Release | Friday, December 19, 2025 | official product page |
| Official price | ¥891 (tax included) | official product page |
| Contents | 1 deck of 60 cards, plus a damage-counter and marker sheet only | official product page |
| Kinds | 100 kinds; which one you get is random | official product page (「100種類の中からどれか1つがキミの手に！」) |
| Guarantee | Two or more Pokémon ex in every deck | official product page |
| Play requirement | Two or more decks are needed for a game | official product page |
The official page does not list a coin, a playmat or a code card. Its December 19, 2025 notice says additional production will continue according to sales, and asks customers not to contact shops about re-sale. A second official notice on December 20, 2025 corrected a packing error in decks No.004 and No.101; it does not concern this card.
The deck numbering in the official text runs 001 to 100, and the notice mentions a deck No.101 as well. Fan sites (PokéWiki and premium.gamepedia.jp) report 102 variations in total, including a No.001 gold version said to contain the 766/742. That deck-number detail is a fan-site report; the official page confirms only 「全100種類」 and that No.101 exists. We repeat it as a report and nothing more.
Our store lists the sealed product as the MEGA Start Deck 100 Battle Collection, currently listed at ¥1,097 (~$7), and a separate White Box listing at ¥38,570 (~$250). Our guide to MEGA Start Deck 100 regular vs White Box explains how those two differ.

The Regular Print vs the 766/742
The same Pokémon appears twice in the product. The official database holds a regular print of メガリザードンYex (database id 48801) and the high-number 766/742 (database id 50034). Our listing names the regular print MC 085/742; the official database entry (id 48801) shows no number in our sources.
| Detail | Regular print | 766/742 |
|---|---|---|
| Number | 085/742 (as our listing names it) | 766/742 (official database) |
| Database id | 48801 | 50034 |
| Illustrator | Not stated in our sources | aky CG Works |
| Our listing name | PSA10 MEGA Charizard Y ex :Mirror [MC 085/742] | PSA10 MEGA Charizard Y ex MUR Style [MC 766/742] |
| Our price | PSA 10 back order at ¥16,379 (~$106) | PSA 10 back order at ¥997,109 (~$6,475) |
Both are offered as PSA 10 back orders — sourced to order, with the product page showing the current terms. Set side by side, the 766/742 is listed at roughly 61 times the figure of the regular print. We state that as arithmetic on two of our own listing prices, not as a market judgement, and we give no reason for the gap beyond the difference in print.
In our listing name the regular print carries the word “Mirror”. That is how the listing names that print; the official database does not use the word, and we do not explain it further.
Where 766 Sits in the 743–766 Run
The base numbering of MC is 001 to 742. The high numbers 743 to 766 are reported by premium.gamepedia.jp as 24 cards; the official database lets us confirm six of them, listed below with their printed details.
| 編號 | Card (as printed) | HP | Illustrator |
|---|---|---|---|
| 743/742 | エリカのモンジャラ | 80 | buchi |
| 749/742 | ジュペッタ | 90 | YASHIRO Nanaco |
| 755/742 | イーブイ | 50 | Makura Tami |
| 764/742 | ピカチュウex | 200 | booota |
| 765/742 | リーリエのピッピex | 190 | Naoki Saito |
| 766/742 | メガリザードンYex | 360 | aky CG Works |
Two things stand out from the official values themselves. The 766/742 carries 360 HP against 50 to 200 for the other five, and it is the only Stage 2 among them (the database lists the others as Basic or Stage 1). Its illustrator credit, aky CG Works, is also the only one of the six that includes “CG Works”. Read as a run, the numbers 743 to 756 are reported as the AR Style cards, 760 as an SR Style card, 761 to 765 as SAR Style cards and 766 as the MUR Style card. Those labels come from cardrush-pokemon.jp and premium.gamepedia.jp, not from pokemon-card.com.
We have separate guides for the neighbours: our Pikachu ex SAR Style 764/742 guide covers the card two numbers below (765/742 is Lillie’s Clefairy ex), and the Style secret cards ranked by PSA 10 price places the whole run against our listings.

| 766/742 | PSA10 MEGA Charizard Y ex MUR Style | PSA 10 back order at ¥997,109 (~$6,475) |
The rows are ordered by our listed price, lowest first. That ordering is a statement about our own price list on October 29, 2026 and says nothing about demand or about how any card will be priced later; we make no forecast.
The browsable set of everything we list is the card list, which stays current while this table is dated.
How to Tell Which Mega Charizard Y ex You Hold
The product contains more than one Mega Charizard Y ex, so the printed number is the first thing to read. The table sets out what each reading points to.
| What the card shows | What it points to |
|---|---|
| 766/742 and the credit aky CG Works | The high-number print discussed here (database id 50034) |
| A number below 742, such as 085/742 | A regular print of the same Pokémon (the regular print is database id 48801) |
| HP 360 and the 3-Prize knockout rule | The card text printed on the 766/742; the regular print’s text is not rendered here |
For a graded copy, the slab label shows the number the grader recorded, so compare it with the printed number on the card. We do not quote label wording for this card; the photo on each product page shows what the label reads. If you are new to the rules behind these cards, our beginner guide to playing Pokémon cards covers the basics, and the MEGA Premium Trainer Box vs Start Deck 100 guide sets this product against another entry point.

A Note on the October 29, 2026 Trademark Reports
On October 29, 2026 fan sites reported a Japanese trademark filing for 「バトルスタートデッキ」 (working English translation: Battle Start Deck; no official English name exists), which collectors read as a possible beginner-deck product; nothing is announced. Our Battle Start Deck trademark article explains what is confirmed and what is not, and the ex★ 2027 trademarks round-up places it next to the three other reported names.
