Three regions, one effect. Draw 3 cards from your deck — that’s the entire text box, and Japan has printed it as a Secret Rare Supporter three separate times, once per region: Hisui, Sinnoh, and Paldea.
Each «Friends in/of [Region]» card is functionally identical to the other two. What separates them is the set they came from, the artwork, and — on the secondary market — the price. PSA10-graded copies of all three are currently listed, and the spread between the cheapest and most expensive is wider than you’d expect from cards that do exactly the same thing in a duel.
Three confirmed «Friends in/of [Region]» Secret Rare Supporters are currently listed: Friends in Hisui (249/172) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order), Friends in Sinnoh (247/172) — both from S12a «VSTAR Universe» — and Friends of Paldea (195/187) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) from SV8a «Terastal Festival ex». All three share the same draw-3 effect. PSA10 copies are currently listed from ¥7,700 (~$48) up to ¥19,184 (~$121).
Prices below are our own listed PSA10 prices as of September 2026, converted at ¥159/USD.
The «Friends in/of Region» Series Explained
The Japanese naming pattern is «〇〇の仆間たち» — «[Region]’s friends» — and every confirmed card under that name is a Trainer – Supporter with the identical effect: draw 3 cards from your deck. There’s no attack, no HP, no Pokemon type to compare — the entire card is the effect box and the regional artwork built around it.
| Carta | Japanese Name | Colección | Number | Rarity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Friends in Hisui | ヒスイの仆間たち | S12a «VSTAR Universe» | 249/172 | Secret Rare |
| Friends in Sinnoh | シンオウの仆間たち | S12a «VSTAR Universe» | 247/172 | Secret Rare |
| Friends of Paldea | パルデアの仆間たち | SV8a «Terastal Festival ex» | 195/187 | Secret Rare |
Two of the three — Hisui and Sinnoh — come from the same set, S12a «VSTAR Universe», released 2 December 2022. Paldea followed two years later in SV8a «Terastal Festival ex», released 6 December 2024 with 237 cards in its full gallery including secrets.
We’re scoping this guide to the three cards above because they’re the only confirmed members of this naming family that we can verify and that we currently list — this isn’t presented as a complete list of every regional-themed Supporter Japan has ever printed. For context only: the English-language Pokemon TCG has released a card under the equivalent name «Friends in Sinnoh» via Crown Zenith, though that’s a separate English print and not among our Japanese listings.
Friends in Hisui SR (249/172)

Illustrated by Kinu Nishimura, Friends in Hisui carries number 249 out of a 172-card main set — the numbering-past-the-set-size is the standard Japanese convention for Secret Rares. It’s currently the highest-priced of the three in our listings: a PSA10 copy is currently listed at ¥19,184 (~$121) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order).
For the full single-card breakdown of this printing — identification details, its Crown Zenith reprint, and card-by-card numbering — see our dedicated Friends in Hisui SR card guide. VSTAR Universe also produced Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR from the same Hisui-region wave, worth a look if you’re collecting the set together.
Friends in Sinnoh SR (247/172)

Friends in Sinnoh shares its set and release date with Friends in Hisui — same S12a «VSTAR Universe» print run, same draw-3 Supporter effect, same Secret Rare slot structure, just two numbers apart at 247/172. A PSA10 copy is currently listed at ¥13,882 (~$87) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) — roughly ¥5,300 below its Hisui counterpart despite coming from the identical set.
See our standalone Friends in Sinnoh SR card guide for the full print-run detail on this specific card. If you’re building out a Sinnoh-region collection alongside it, our Sinnoh starters guide is a natural companion piece.
Hisui and Sinnoh left the printer on the same day in the same set. The price gap between them isn’t a set-age story — it comes down to collector demand for the individual region, which the two VSTAR Universe prints don’t share equally.
Friends of Paldea SR (195/187)

Friends of Paldea is the newest and, in our listings, the most affordable of the three. It comes from SV8a «Terastal Festival ex», illustrated by Cona Nitanda, numbered 195 against a 187-card main set. A PSA10 copy is currently listed at ¥7,700 (~$48) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order).
For the rest of what came out of this set, our Terastal Festival ex (SV8a) card list covers the full gallery.
Price Comparison: All Three Side by Side
Same effect, three different price points. Here’s the full lineup, high to low, based on our own PSA10 listings:
| Rango | Carta | Colección | Number | Precio |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Friends in Hisui SR | VSTAR Universe (S12a) | 249/172 | ¥19,184 (~$121) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) |
| 2 | Friends in Sinnoh SR | VSTAR Universe (S12a) | 247/172 | ¥13,882 (~$87) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) |
| 3 | Friends of Paldea SR | Terastal Festival ex (SV8a) | 195/187 | ¥7,700 (~$48) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) |
This is a three-item ranking of our own listed prices — not a market-wide valuation claim. All three are PSA10-graded copies currently listed at the prices shown above.
Why the Three Prices Differ
Looking only at our own listed prices, the gradient roughly tracks set age: the two 2022 VSTAR Universe prints (Hisui and Sinnoh) sit above the 2024 Terastal Festival ex print (Paldea). But that pattern breaks down the moment you compare Hisui and Sinnoh directly — identical set, identical release date, identical effect, and still a ¥5,300 gap between them.
That tells you the effect itself isn’t driving price at all — three cards with the exact same draw-3 text land at three different price points because of region-specific collector demand and the individual set’s broader secondary-market strength, not because one card does more in a duel than another. Treat each of the three as its own collecting decision rather than assuming «newer» or «same set» predicts price.

How many «Friends in/of Region» Secret Rares are there?
We can confirm three: Friends in Hisui (249/172) and Friends in Sinnoh (247/172), both from VSTAR Universe (S12a), and Friends of Paldea (195/187) from Terastal Festival ex (SV8a). This isn’t presented as an exhaustive list of every regional-themed card Japan has printed — only the three confirmed above, which are also the three we currently list.
What set is Friends of Paldea from, and how does it differ from the other two?
Friends of Paldea comes from SV8a «Terastal Festival ex», released 6 December 2024. Friends in Hisui and Friends in Sinnoh both come from an earlier set, S12a «VSTAR Universe», released 2 December 2022. All three share the identical draw-3 effect regardless of set.

Is there an English-language version of these cards?
The English Pokemon TCG has released a card under the equivalent name «Friends in Sinnoh» through Crown Zenith, but that is a separate English print and not among our Japanese listings. The three cards covered in this guide are the Japanese Secret Rare printings.
