Suicune Gold Star is the 2005 Japanese print of スイクン (Suicune) numbered 032/106 in the expansion Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean (PCG4), released on Friday, April 8, 2005. It is one of three Gold Star legendary beasts, a trio that our legendary-beasts value guide describes as collector targets two decades on.
This guide sets out what our sources verify about the card — its number, its set, its HP, its illustrator and its English counterpart — and, just as important, what they do not. There is no photograph of this card in our sources, no Japanese rarity label, and our store has no Gold Star Suicune listing. The surrounding Suicune prints that can be checked are checked against the official Japanese card database on pokemon-card.com.
We sell Japanese sealed product and graded singles from Tokyo. USD figures convert at ¥154/USD, approximate.
- Suicune Gold Star is numbered 032/106 in the Japanese expansion Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean (PCG4, Friday, April 8, 2005); its English-set counterpart is numbered 115/115 in EX Unseen Forces (Monday, August 22, 2005).
- Our guide records HP 80 and the illustrator Masakazu Fukuda for all three Gold Star beasts. A Japanese rarity label and a card photo are not in our sources.
- The official card database does not hold PCG-era cards, so this print cannot be looked up there; the 25 Suicune entries it does hold run from DP3 DPBP#295 to MC 174/742.
- We do not list a Gold Star Suicune. Sourcing requests for it go through Quick Order.
What Suicune Gold Star Is
The facts below come from our own fact-checked legendary-beasts guide; no other source is mixed in. Where the guide gives no value, the table says so.
| Field | Suicune Gold Star (Suicune★) |
|---|---|
| Japanese number and set | 032/106, 확장팩 "Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean" (PCG4) |
| Japanese release | Friday, April 8, 2005 |
| English-set counterpart | EX Unseen Forces, numbered 115/115 |
| English-set release | Monday, August 22, 2005 |
| HP | 80 |
| Illustrator | Masakazu Fukuda |
| Japanese rarity label | Not stated in our sources |
| Card photograph | None in our sources |
| Our store listing | None for this print |
One detail comes straight from the numbers. The English counterpart is numbered 115/115, while the Japanese 032/106 sits inside the printed 106 of its own set. A modern secret-numbered print is numbered above its set count; this 2005 card is not, so the Japanese number alone does not mark it as a chase slot in the way a number such as 215/172 does on a recent card.
Where the Beasts Come From: Gold & Silver
Entei, Raikou and Suicune share one origin story in the 1999 games Pokémon Gold & Silver. In that story lightning struck the Brass Tower 150 years before the games’ events and killed three unnamed Pokémon; Ho-Oh revived them, and the Burned Tower links flame, thunder and rain to Entei (Fire), Raikou (Lightning) and Suicune (Water) respectively.
That shared origin is why our guide lists the three Gold Star cards together, which is the subject of the next section. For the full family, including the Neo, LEGEND and modern prints, the Suicune Japanese cards guide is the single-Pokémon reference on our site.
The Gold Star Trio: Entei, Raikou and Suicune
The three Gold Star beasts were released in 2005 in the Japanese expansion Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean (Friday, April 8, 2005) and, in English, in EX Unseen Forces (Monday, August 22, 2005). Our guide gives the following numbers; HP is 80 for each, and the illustrator is Masakazu Fukuda for each.
| 카드 | English-set number (EX Unseen Forces) | Japanese number (PCG4) | HP | Illustrator |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Entei★ | 113/115 | 019/106 | 80 | Masakazu Fukuda |
| Raikou★ | 114/115 | 039/106 | 80 | Masakazu Fukuda |
| Suicune★ | 115/115 | 032/106 | 80 | Masakazu Fukuda |
The English numbers run 113, 114, 115 in the order Entei, Raikou, Suicune. The Japanese numbers do not follow that order: Entei is 019, Suicune is 032 and Raikou is 039. Match a card to its own column rather than assuming the two numbering schemes run in parallel.
The same numbers explain a point of confusion on the Entei side. Our store lists "PSA10 Entei: 1ED [PCG4 019/106] (확장팩 "Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean")" as a PSA 10 back order at ¥2,570,400 (~$16,691) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms. That listing matches the Gold Star Entei by number and set name only; our guide is the one that uses the term Gold Star. It is an Entei card and says nothing about the price of a Suicune. The three Gold Star beasts together are covered in our Gold Star trio guide.
The Expansion: Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean (PCG4)
Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean is the PCG4 expansion pack; our site also writes the English name as "Gold Sky Silver Sea". It was released on Friday, April 8, 2005. The ADV era began on Friday, January 31, 2003, and the PCG-named series, starting with PCG1 "Flight of Legends", ran roughly from 2003 to 2006 — so this set sits in the later part of that run.

The photograph shows the Entei card numbered 019/106 in the same expansion, so that a reader can see the numbering format and card era of Suicune’s own number. It is not the Suicune, and nothing about its condition or finish should be read across to the Suicune print.
Why the Official Database Does Not Show It
The official Japanese card database on pokemon-card.com lists cards from the Diamond & Pearl era onward; old-back cards, e-series cards and PCG-era cards are not in it. That is why a 2005 print such as Suicune 032/106 cannot be looked up there, and why this guide leans on our own fact-checked article for its number, HP and illustrator.
| Question | Where the answer comes from |
|---|---|
| Japanese number 032/106 and the PCG4 set | Our legendary-beasts guide |
| HP 80 and the illustrator Masakazu Fukuda | Our legendary-beasts guide |
| English counterpart 115/115 and its date | Our legendary-beasts guide |
| Japanese rarity label | Not stated in the official database or in our sources |
| The 25 other Suicune prints | The official database (earliest entry: DP3 DPBP#295, illustrator Ryo Ueda) |
The practical consequence: when you read a number or a rarity for this card on a third-party site, check it against the PCG4 set and the 032/106 number first. A statement about the card’s rarity symbol cannot be confirmed from the official database, so this guide does not make one.
Suicune Across the Eras
Placing the Gold Star in a timeline of Suicune prints shows how much of the Pokémon’s history sits outside the official database. Rows marked "database" are official entries; the others come from our own articles or our listing names.
| Date or era | Detail | |
|---|---|---|
| Thursday, November 23, 2000 | Awakening Legends (Neo Revelation in English) | Debut set; our listing names the old-back card "neo3 No.245"; the English Holo is #14/64, HP 70, Ken Sugimori |
| Friday, April 8, 2005 | Suicune★ 032/106, PCG4 | Gold Star; HP 80; Masakazu Fukuda |
| Diamond & Pearl era | DP3 DPBP#295 (database) | Lv.44, HP 70; Ryo Ueda; a Poké-Power that returns up to three Pokémon from the trash to hand (rendering) |
| Thursday, February 11, 2010 | Reviving Legends, L2-B 065/080 and 066/080 (database) | Suicune & Entei LEGEND, two cards combined; HP 160; Shinji Higuchi |
| Saturday, July 16, 2016 | CP5 010/036 (database) | HP 100; Yoshinobu Saito |
| Friday, September 7, 2018 | SM8 028/095 and 098/095 (database) | Suicune GX; HP 180; 5ban Graphics |
| Friday, November 20, 2020 | S4a 033/190 and 221/190 (database) | HP 120; so-taro (033) and Kagemaru Himeno (221) |
| Friday, December 2, 2022 | S12a 024/172 and 215/172 (database) | Suicune V; HP 210; Ayaka Yoshida (024) and Atsushi Furusawa (215) |
| Friday, September 26, 2025 | M2 026/080 (database) | HP 130; Takeshi Nakamura |
Reading down the table, the 2005 Gold Star is one of the older Suicune prints a collector is likely to meet, and one of the two prints in this list (with the Neo old-back card) whose existence rests on our guide and our listing name rather than on the database. The Suicune V prints are also covered in the Atsushi Furusawa artist guide, and the LEGEND format in the Pokémon LEGEND cards guide.
The Suicune Prints We Currently List
We do not list the Gold Star print. The other Suicune cards we list are each a PSA 10 back order — sourced to order; each product page shows the current terms. They are different cards from the one this guide is about.
| Listing (as we name it) | Era | PSA 10 back order |
|---|---|---|
| PSA10 Suicune : Old Back [neo3 No.245] (Awakening Legends) | Neo, 2000 | ¥252,606 (~$1,640) |
| PSA10 Suicune GX RR [SM8 028/095] | Super-Burst Impact | ¥10,499 (~$68) |
| PSA10 Suicune GX SR [SM8 098/095] | Super-Burst Impact | ¥33,786 (~$219) |
| PSA10 Suicune V SAR [s12a 215/172] | VSTAR Universe | ¥18,620 (~$121) |
| PSA10 Suicune ex [CLK 010/032] (Pokemon Card Game Classic) | Classic, 2023 | ¥8,999 (~$58) |

The Neo old-back Suicune is the card from the debut set, five years before the Gold Star. The Gold Star is the next step in the same timeline. The rating letters in the listing names (RR, SR, SAR) are how our listings label those cards; the official database does not print rarities.

A Sealed Box With Suicune Prints
A Gold Star Suicune has no sealed-box route: Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean is not a product we list. If what you want is a Suicune from a box we do list, the Shiny Star V box is the natural match. The official database shows two Suicune prints in S4a — 033/190 and the secret-numbered 221/190 — so a box of that set is the sealed way to open the same Pokémon in a modern print.
Whether a particular print turns up in a box is a matter of the opening; this guide quotes no pull rates. For the set itself, see the Shiny Star V card list and the Shiny Star V best-cards guide.
How to Place a Suicune by Its Number
A Suicune card is placed by the number over the denominator and the set it belongs to. The table lists the numbers this guide has discussed.
| What the card shows | Where it points |
|---|---|
| 032/106 with the PCG4 set | The 2005 Gold Star Suicune (Masakazu Fukuda per our guide) |
| 115/115 in EX Unseen Forces | The English-set counterpart of the Gold Star |
| No.245 on an old-back card | The Neo-era Suicune; No.245 is the number our listing name carries, and the official database prints No.245 on Suicune cards |
| 028/095 or 098/095 (SM8) | Suicune GX prints, 5ban Graphics |
| 215/172 (S12a) | The secret-numbered Suicune V, Atsushi Furusawa |
| 010/032 (CLK) | Suicune ex from Pokemon Card Game Classic, as our listing names it |
For how to read a number and its symbols on a Japanese card in general, see the old-back guide for the earliest cards and the Pokémon Card Game Classic guide for the Classic ex.
Grading and Sourcing a Gold Star Suicune
We hold no population data for this print, so this guide gives none, and the card-photo gap means the slab label — set name and number — is the first thing to check on any copy you are offered: check that the label’s set and number match PCG4 and 032/106.
What we can say about sourcing is limited and plain. We do not list the Gold Star Suicune. A request for a specific card that we do not list goes through 빠른 주문, where the product page shows the current terms for anything sourced to order. The back orders in the table above show how we word those listings: a PSA 10 copy is offered as a back order, sourced to order, with the price linked to the product page.
| Detail | Status in our sources |
|---|---|
| Japanese number, set, HP, illustrator | Known: 032/106, PCG4, HP 80, Masakazu Fukuda |
| English counterpart | Known: 115/115, EX Unseen Forces |
| Japanese rarity label | Not stated |
| Own card photograph | None |
| Store listing and price | None; sourcing via Quick Order |
| Population or sales data | Not held, so none is quoted |
Those gaps are the reason this guide is short on prices. A value figure for a card with no listing and no sourced sale would be invented, and we do not publish one.
Suicune and the 2027 Trademark Report
On October 29, 2026 premium.gamepedia.jp and PokeGuardian reported a Japanese trademark filing for 「オーロラの波紋」, which collectors read as a possible Suicune set; nothing is announced. Our Aurora Ripples trademark guide (working English translation; no official English name exists) explains what is confirmed and what is not, and the 2027 ex★ round-up places it among the other reported names.
