EB-02 Booster Box: Japanese Box Guide

EB-02 Booster Box: Japanese Box Guide

Updated November 6, 2026

The EB-02 booster box is the sealed box of the Japanese edition ONE PIECE CARD GAME Extra Booster “Anime 25th collection”. Our product page lists it as 24 packs of 6 cards, 144 cards in total, drawn from 87 card types. This guide separates what the official pages confirm from what only our shop page states.

Key Takeaways
  • EB-02 is the Japanese edition “EXTRA BOOSTER Anime 25th collection”, made for the 25th anniversary of the TV anime (official Japanese page).
  • The set has 87 card types, with a new Leader card “Monkey D. Luffy” (official English page).
  • Our product page lists 24 packs per box and 6 张/包; the official pages do not state a box configuration.
  • The official sites do not agree on a release date: January 25, 2025 on the Japanese and Asia-English pages, May 9, 2025 on the English page.
  • A regular box and a Damaged Box are listed separately; the Damaged Box is sold as-is with no returns or refunds.

What are the key facts of the EB-02 booster box?

The key facts are a Japanese edition extra booster, code EB-02, with 87 card types and a new Leader “Monkey D. Luffy”. The table below uses only the official pages and our own product page, and each row names where it comes from.

What is the EB-02 booster box, and what is the set about?

The EB-02 booster box holds packs of EXTRA BOOSTER Anime 25th collection, a special set released to mark the 25th anniversary of the One Piece anime. The official English page describes it as “a special booster released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the anime” and says all cards feature new illustrations by artists from the TV anime.

The official pages say the set includes cards inspired by iconic anime theme songs, and the English page also mentions Leader pairing options with different colors. The Asia-English page describes the same set as a special booster for the 25th anniversary of the animation, with new illustrations by artists from the TV animation ONE PIECE.

Our product page words the idea in its own way: iconic anime scenes reimagined as cards, with exclusive anniversary artwork. It also mentions Straw Hat crew anniversary cards and scene reprints with new anime-art illustrations. Those are shop-page descriptions, not a card list. The official page names exactly one card, the new Leader “Monkey D. Luffy”, and shows other highlighted cards only by ID.

The official pages list Leader x1, which means one Leader card among the 87 card types. That Leader is the new “Monkey D. Luffy” card.

How many cards and rarities are in EB-02?

EB-02 has 87 card types: 1 Leader, 29 Commons, 21 Rares, 9 Super Rares, 1 Secret Rare and 26 Special Cards. The counts come from the official pages, and they add up to 87.

Rarity Card types
Leader 1
Common 29
Rare 21
Super Rare 9
Secret Rare 1
Special Card 26
总计 87

The Japanese and Asia-English pages write the total as 87+1. This guide uses 87, the sum of the rarity counts listed above, and quotes the “+1” wording as the pages print it.

Our product page says the set has anniversary-themed special cards plus Commons, Uncommons, Rares, Super Rares and Secret Rares with alternate-art parallels. Note that the official rarity list has no Uncommon row, while our product page mentions Uncommons. Where the two differ, the official rarity table is the safer source for counts.

The official pages also carry a practical note: multiples of one card may appear, and a full set may be hard to assemble. The box page adds that this is a sealed, randomized product, that the cards in each box are packed at the factory, and that individual card pulls are not guaranteed.

What is inside a Japanese EB-02 booster box?

A Japanese EB-02 booster box contains 24 booster packs with 6 cards each, 144 cards in total, according to our product page. The official pages do not state a box configuration, so the 24-pack figure is a shop-page statement, not an official one.

The official Japanese page says outright that no box count is given (「BOX入数の記載はありません」). The English page also lists no box configuration, and the Asia-English page gives only the pack configuration: 1 pack contains 6 cards. So two layers exist. At pack level, the official sites confirm 6 张/包. At box level, you rely on the product page for 24 packs and 144 cards.

Level What is stated Who states it
卡牌 87 card types Official pages
Pack 6 张/包 Official Japanese and Asia-English pages
整盒 24 packs, 144 cards Our product page only
Pack price 220 yen incl. tax (Japan); $4.99 (English site) Official Japanese and English pages

The sum is simple: 24 packs times 6 cards equals 144 cards. The official page says multiples of one card may appear, and the box page says individual pulls are not guaranteed.

The product page describes the box as brand new and sealed, shipped from our Tokyo warehouse by FedEx. It states that every shipment includes tracking and insurance. It does not list any card names inside the box, and neither do we.

Card image for EB02-061, one of the cards highlighted on the official EB-02 page

Why do the official EB-02 release dates differ?

The Japanese and Asia-English official pages give January 25, 2025, and the English page gives May 9, 2025. All three are stated on official ONE PIECE CARD GAME pages, so read each as the date that page gives.

Official page Release date Other date or price detail
Japanese site January 25, 2025 (Saturday) 220 yen including tax per pack
Asia-English site January 25, 2025 6 张/包, 87+1 card types
English site May 9, 2025 Legal date May 16, 2025; MSRP USD $4.99 per pack

Our own product page lists “日本发售日期: May 9, 2025”. That matches the English site’s date, not the Japanese site’s date. For a Japanese edition product, the Japanese official page gives January 25, 2025. If you are comparing our listing with other sources, keep this mismatch in mind so you do not read it as two different products.

The English page adds a legal date of May 16, 2025 and says cards are tournament legal from the pre-release date in your region. This guide covers the Japanese edition box, so use the date lines above to identify the set. For play legality in your own events, check with your tournament organizer.

The Japanese page also notes that the lottery sale through Premium Bandai has ended, and that buyers who answer a questionnaire can download a play sheet. The Asia-English page mentions the same play-sheet download.

Which EB-02 booster box should I buy: regular or Damaged Box?

Buy the regular box if you want the box listed as brand new and sealed, and the Damaged Box if you accept dents or scratches on the outer box for a lower price. Both are Japanese EB-02 boxes, and the Damaged Box page says the cards inside are unaffected.

Point Regular box Damaged Box
Product page EB-02 Booster Box (更新:当前售罄 — 可通过 Quick Order 申请补货) EB-02 Booster Box, Damaged Box
Outer box Described as brand new and sealed Cosmetic damage such as dents or scratches; type and extent vary
Cards inside Randomized, packed at the factory Page says the cards inside are unaffected
Price position Regular listing Discounted because of the damage
Photos Product photo First image shows the regular product; later photos are samples of other damaged boxes
Returns Not stated on the product page Sold as-is; no returns or refunds; no replies to inquiries about the item

The Damaged Box page is blunt, and you should read it before you order. The photos are samples. The first image shows the regular product so you can identify the set, and the condition photos that follow show other damaged boxes. The actual box you receive may differ from them. The page states that the type and extent of damage vary by item, and that the item is sold as-is.

Listing image for the EB-02 Anime 25th collection Damaged Box, showing the regular box to identify the set
The Damaged Box listing leads with an image of the regular product so you can identify the set.

Why does a shop sell damaged boxes at all? The product page explains it. Our warehouse in Tokyo buys large volumes of Japanese trading cards every day, and some boxes arrive dented or scratched. Dozens of staff handle packing and inspect every item against defined condition standards. Boxes that cannot be sold as mint-condition products are separated from regular stock and offered at a lower price.

The choice comes down to how much the outer box matters to you versus the discount. The cards in either box are random, and neither page promises any specific card.

Which EB-02 cards does the official page highlight?

The official English page highlights eight card IDs: EB02-026, EB02-045, EB02-035, EB02-017, EB02-010, EB02-061, EB02-020 and EB02-058. It names only one card, the new Leader “Monkey D. Luffy”, so this guide does not attach names to the other IDs.

The official page shows these IDs as highlighted cards and gives no pack distribution for them. When you see a card named in a forum, check it against the official card list and the card number.

The official notes add that illustrations may differ somewhat from the final product and that product details may change. Treat any image, including ours, as an identification aid.

Our product page lists the box’s key cards in general terms only: Straw Hat crew anniversary cards, iconic scene reprints with new anime art, and special parallel treatments. For a longer look at which cards collectors talk about, see our EB-02 chase cards and box guide.

How does shipping work for an EB-02 booster box from Tokyo?

Orders ship from Tokyo by FedEx, either Standard (FedEx International Connect Plus) or Expedited (FedEx International Priority), both with a tracking number. The shipping policy gives transit estimates, not guarantees, and the cost is calculated at checkout from your delivery address.

选项 Service Estimated transit after dispatch Cost
标准价 FedEx International Connect Plus, with tracking Usually 3-7 business days Calculated at checkout by delivery address
Expedited FedEx International Priority, with tracking Usually 2-5 business days Calculated at checkout by delivery address

Transit time starts after dispatch. Before that, the policy says most orders are processed and shipped within 5 business days after PayPal or Wise payment has cleared. That handling window is an estimate, not a guarantee, and business days exclude weekends and Japanese national holidays. So total waiting time is handling time plus FedEx transit.

The policy lists several things that its delivery estimates do not include: handling time, pre-order release timing, supplier allocation delays, quality inspection holds, weekends and Japanese holidays, customs processing, carrier congestion, weather and destination-country conditions. Stock levels of sealed Japanese trading card products fluctuate frequently, and dispatch can take longer. If dispatch is delayed, the policy says we will email you as soon as practical with a revised estimate, and for significant delays before handoff to FedEx we may offer the option to wait or to cancel with a full refund.

Once the products are secured and the shipment is ready, we update the order status. You can check status in your customer account, and after dispatch you can see the tracking number and the carrier’s latest delivery estimate from your account or the shipping confirmation email.

Two practical points come straight from the policy. FedEx cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes, so give a physical address. And you are responsible for a complete and accurate address. While an order is paid and its shipment is not yet scheduled, you can update the shipping address yourself under My Account, Orders. The destination country cannot be changed, and the carrier, shipping method and FedEx service level stay as selected at checkout. If the new address costs more to ship to, you pay the difference before dispatch.

After handoff to FedEx, timing is controlled by the carrier and by destination-country authorities. The policy says customs inspections, import procedures, remote-area handling, peak-season congestion, weather and carrier events can delay delivery, and that such transit delays do not by themselves create a right to cancel or refund after dispatch. The policy text we reviewed does not set out duty amounts, so we make no statement about import charges in your country.

There is no minimum order amount or quantity, so a single box is a valid order.

How do I pay for an EB-02 booster box?

You can pay by Wise bank transfer, PayPal, or a credit or debit card through PayPal, and all payments are made in Japanese yen. The payment page says Wise bank transfer is the only method without the 5% payment processing fee.

Method What the payment page says
Wise (bank transfer) No processing fee. Without a screenshot, an unpaid order is cancelled automatically after 12 hours (3 hours if it contains a pre-order item). With a screenshot, upload within 5 days; the price is held for 10 days in total. The screenshot option needs an account.
PayPal Paid at checkout using your PayPal balance or linked funding sources. Payment processing fee (5%) applies.
Credit and debit cards through PayPal Visa, Mastercard, American Express and JCB; which is offered depends on PayPal, your country and your card. Payment processing fee (5%) applies.
PayPal Pay Later Offered and operated by PayPal, not by us. Availability and terms are decided by PayPal.

For Wise, enter the payment reference issued with your order, SST-{order number}, exactly as issued. A missing or altered reference can delay or prevent matching. If you pay by SWIFT, the page says a JPY 611 receiving fee is deducted, so add JPY 611 to your order total, and choose the OUR charge option so correspondent banks do not reduce the amount.

The card form opens in PayPal’s own secure window, and the page says we never see, receive or store your card number, expiry date or security code. A PayPal account is usually not required for a card payment, though PayPal may occasionally ask you to sign in or create one. Your card issuer may apply 3-D Secure authentication, which is handled between PayPal and your issuer.

The payment page lists the Pay Later options seen at our checkout, each described as interest-free. Availability is not guaranteed, and the terms PayPal shows in its own window are the ones that apply.

Spain PayPal Paga en 3 plazos 3 monthly payments, first at checkout

The yen point matters for overseas buyers. Any gap between the amount we charge and the amount on your statement, from exchange rates or conversion fees at your card issuer, bank or PayPal, is set by your payment provider and is outside our control. Check what your provider charges before you pay.

The shipping policy also records that the FIRSTSHIP coupon campaign ended on July 31, 2026, and the coupon can no longer be applied at checkout.

How does the EB-02 booster box compare with the card-level guides?

This guide is the box-level view, while our other EB-02 articles cover the cards, the parallels and the buying details. Use this page to identify the product and understand the options, then move to the guide that matches your question.

Keep the division clear. The card list article is the place for a full roster, and this guide does not repeat it. Likewise, the price question belongs to the price guide, since prices on a shop page can change and a guide like this should not freeze a number into the text.

What should I check before ordering an EB-02 booster box?

Check six things: the edition, the box type, the release date, the box contents, the delivery estimate and the payment fee. Each one is covered above, and the list below puts them in order.

  1. Edition. The box we list is the 日本原版.
  2. Box type. Regular box or Damaged Box. The Damaged Box is sold as-is, with no returns or refunds.
  3. Dates. The Japanese official release date is January 25, 2025. Our product page lists May 9, 2025, the English-site date.
  4. Box contents. 24 packs of 6 cards per our page. The official sites do not state a box configuration.
  5. Delivery. Handling is usually within 5 business days after payment clears, then FedEx transit. Both are estimates.
  6. Payment. Yen only. Wise has no processing fee; PayPal and cards carry a 5% fee.

One more point: a sealed booster box is a randomized product, and the box page says specific pulls are not guaranteed.
