What is the one piece op 17 booster box?
It is the sealed booster box for the Japanese edition of OP-17, the fourth-anniversary set of the ONE PIECE Card Game. The set is called Sekai Saikyo no Senshi in Japan and “The World’s Strongest Warriors” in English. Our OP-17 Japanese booster box listing describes it as a sealed booster box tied to Elbaf and the Four Emperors.
A box contains 24 booster packs, and each pack holds 6 cards. That means one box holds 144 cards in total. That figure is simple arithmetic from the 24-pack and 6-card counts above, not a separate official number. The cards inside are randomized at the factory, so the specific cards in any one box are not fixed. Our product page says plainly that individual card pulls are not promised.
The official release article on one-piece.com frames the set around the card game reaching its 4th anniversary and arriving at Elbaf. The Straw Hat Pirates appear together in their Elbaf arc costumes. The Four Emperors appear as leader cards, and many members of each Emperor’s pirate crew are included. The same article says Rocks D. Xebec makes his first appearance in the ONE PIECE Card Game, described as the legendary pirate who united Edward Newgate, Charlotte Linlin, and Kaido.
If you are new to the set, our OP-17 Complete Guide covers release dates, contents and editions in one place. This article focuses on the box itself: what it is, how it differs from the other OP-17 sealed formats we list, and how an order reaches you from Tokyo.
When was OP-17 released, and how do the Japanese and English dates differ?
The Japanese release date is August 22, 2026, while the English release date is August 28, 2026. The Japanese date comes from one-piece.com, whose article is dated August 21, 2026, and the Bandai catalog lists the same date. Bandai adds that the release date is tentative and may vary by region or store.
The official English product page lists a pre-release on August 21, 2026 and a release date of August 28, 2026, with an MSRP of USD $4.99 per pack. That page also notes that cards are legal from the pre-release date at your local game store. The Asia-English page shows August 22, 2026 as the release date for that site.
| Region or site | Date shown | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Japan (Japanese edition) | August 22, 2026 | one-piece.com |
| English edition pre-release | August 21, 2026 | Official English site |
| English edition release | August 28, 2026 | Official English site |
| Asia-English site | August 22, 2026 | Asia-English site |
For the full timeline of events around launch, see our OP-17 English release date and pre-release guide.
One related event has already finished. The 4th Anniversary Event (OP-17 Release Event) ran from August 21 to September 13, 2026 at local game stores, and the official event page now says “Event has ended.” Participation prizes included a 4th Anniversary Tournament Pack (75 types in total), the P-110 Monkey.D.Luffy leader card, and World United DON!! Cards (EN_01 and EN_02). Those prizes were event items, not box contents.
Which cards and characters define the OP-17 set?
The set centers on the Straw Hat Crew, the Rocks Pirates and the four Yonko leaders. The official English page names the cards below, and it lists these rarities for the set: Special Cards, Treasure Rare, Leader Cards, Secret Rares, Super Rares, Rares, Uncommons, Commons and DON!! Cards.
| Group | Cards named on the official page |
|---|---|
| Straw Hat Crew | OP17-079 Monkey.D.Luffy (Super Leader Alt-Art), OP17-095 Roronoa Zoro, OP17-086 Nami, OP17-080 Usopp, OP17-082 Sanji, OP17-084 Tony Tony.Chopper, OP17-087 Nico Robin, OP17-090 Franky, OP17-091 Brook, OP17-083 Jinbe |
| Yonko leaders | OP17-001 (Edward.Newgate), OP17-020 (Shanks), OP17-058 (Kaido), OP17-099 (Charlotte Linlin) |
| Rocks Pirates | OP17-118 Rocks.D.Xebec, OP17-040 Edward.Newgate, OP17-041 Wang Zhi, OP17-042 Kaido, OP17-043 Ganzui, OP17-044 Captain John, OP17-045 Kyo, OP17-046 Gloriosa, OP17-048 Shiki, OP17-049 Charlotte Linlin, OP17-050 Streusen, OP17-052 Don Marlon, OP17-053 Barbel, OP17-054 Miss Buckingham Stussy |
| Former Warland Kingdom | OP17-119 Loki |
| Super Alt-Art (newly introduced) | OP17-005, OP17-022, OP17-062, OP17-112 |

The official page lists four Yonko leaders. OP17-001 is listed for Edward.Newgate, OP17-020 for Shanks, OP17-058 for Kaido and OP17-099 for Charlotte Linlin. Our OP-17 leader cards guide goes through them one by one.

OP17-079 Monkey.D.Luffy is listed as a Super Leader Alt-Art on the official page. The page also introduces a new Super Alt-Art treatment, named for OP17-005, OP17-022, OP17-062 and OP17-112.

Rocks D. Xebec deserves a note about the official data. The English page shows him as a “New Leader Card” using an image file labeled OP17-039, while its text lists him as OP17-118. The page does not explain the discrepancy, so treat the card number as unconfirmed until the official card list settles it.

Loki is listed as OP17-119, under the Former Warland Kingdom group. Our OP-17 chase cards guide and the Manga Rare and top parallel cards guide cover the cards collectors are watching. Our box page names Loki, Shanks, Kaido and the other Four Emperors-era leaders as the main early collector watch points.

The official English page adds a few cautions that apply to any box. Multiples of one card may appear, and a full set may be hard to assemble. Illustrations may differ from the final product, and product details may change. For a complete card-by-card reference, use the OP-17 card list by color and rarity rather than this article.
What is the difference between the OP-17 box, the damaged box and the carton?
The three listings are the same Japanese OP-17 product in different purchase units and conditions. The regular box is one sealed booster box. The Damaged Box is an unopened box with outer-box damage, sold as-is at a discount. The carton is a full case of 12 booster boxes.
| Listing | 购买单位 | 状态 | Key terms from the product page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Booster Box | 1 box (24 packs) | Brand new and sealed | Ships from Tokyo by FedEx with tracking; price and availability are shown on the page and confirmed at checkout |
| Damaged Box (更新:当前售罄 — 可通过 Quick Order 申请补货) | 1 box | Unopened; outer-box damage | Sold as-is at a discount; photos are samples; returns and refunds are not accepted |
| 整箱 | 1 carton (case) of 12 boxes | Shipped as the carton itself | Not 12 individual boxes; Japanese language edition |

The Damaged Box page is specific about what you are buying. The box is unopened, and it is discounted because of damage to the outer box, such as dents, crushed corners, creased edges or scuffs. The page states that the cards inside are unaffected. The photos are samples: the first image shows the regular product so you can identify the set, and the later images show typical damage from the same stock. The item you receive may differ from the photos, and the type and extent of damage vary by item.

This is a sold-as-is item. The page says that inquiries about the item are not answered and that returns and refunds are not accepted. Read that before ordering. If the outer box matters to you, for example for display, the regular box is the better fit; if you plan to open the packs, the cosmetic difference may not matter to you.
The page explains why damaged boxes exist: the Tokyo warehouse buys large volumes of Japanese trading cards every day, and some incoming boxes have dents, scratches or other damage. Staff inspect every item against defined condition standards, and boxes that cannot be sold as mint-condition products were separated from regular stock.

The carton is a different buying decision. The listing says it ships as the carton itself and holds 12 booster boxes. By arithmetic, 12 boxes of 24 packs is 288 packs, or 1,728 cards at 6 张/包. Availability for each listing is shown on its product page. For help choosing between the two formats, see our OP-17 case buying guide.
How does the Japanese OP-17 box compare with the English version and the Asian Super Premium Collection?
The Japanese box is the Japanese-language edition, released earlier than the English edition, and the Super Premium Collection vol.1 is a separate Asia-only product that also contains OP-17 packs. They share the set but differ in language, release timing and packaging.
| 商品 | Language / region | Release date | Contents | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OP-17 booster box (our listing) | Japanese edition | August 22, 2026 (Japan) | 24 packs, 6 张/包 | Product page |
| OP-17 booster pack | English edition | August 28, 2026 | MSRP USD $4.99 per pack; 131+4 types | Official English site |
| Super Premium Collection vol.1 | Asian regions excluding Japan | November 13, 2026 | Booster Pack [OP-17] x 24, Promotion Card x 2 (2 types), Metal Card x 2 (2 types), Card Sleeves x 70 (1 type) | Asia-English site |
The Super Premium Collection page says it is sold only in Asian regions excluding Japan, and that illustrations and details may change. It is not the same thing as the Japanese booster box we list. If you are weighing Japanese against English, our OP-17 Japanese vs English comparison goes into dates and which version suits which collector, and the OP-17 vs OP-16 box guide compares it with the previous set.
The Asia-English page also lists six related starter decks: ST-31 Red Monkey.D.Luffy, ST-32 Green Roronoa Zoro, ST-33 Blue Kuzan, ST-34 Purple Charlotte Katakuri, ST-35 Red/Black Sabo and ST-36 Yellow Eustass”Captain”Kid. Those are separate products from the booster box.
What should you check before buying a Japanese OP-17 box?
Check four things: the edition, the unit, the condition and the language of the cards. Each of these is stated on the product page, so you can confirm them before you pay.
- Edition. Our listing is the 日本原版. The cards are printed in Japanese. If you need English cards, the English release is a different product.
- Unit. One box is 24 packs. A carton is 12 boxes. Make sure the listing you pick is the unit you want.
- 状态. The regular box is described as brand new and sealed. The Damaged Box is cosmetically damaged on the outer box and is final sale.
- Randomization. The product is sealed and randomized. The page says specific cards are packed at random at the factory and that individual pulls are not promised.
- Price and availability. These are shown on each product page and confirmed at checkout. We do not repeat them here because they can change.
For a wider look at the buying decision, including price context, see the OP-17 Booster Box Buying Guide and the launch weekend price report. Both are dated articles, so read them as a record of a moment rather than a current quote.
A point on expectations: a booster box does not promise any particular card. If you want one specific card, buying a box is a gamble on a randomized product.

How does shipping from Tokyo work for an OP-17 box?
Orders ship from Tokyo by FedEx with a tracking number, and you choose between two services at checkout. Our shipping policy (last updated September 8, 2026) sets out the details.
| Service | Estimated FedEx transit after dispatch | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Standard: FedEx International Connect Plus (tracked) | Usually 3-7 business days | Calculated automatically at checkout based on your delivery address |
| Expedited: FedEx International Priority (tracked) | Usually 2-5 business days | Calculated automatically at checkout based on your delivery address |
Those transit times are estimates only, and actual delivery dates may differ. They also do not include our handling time. Most orders are processed and shipped within 5 business days after PayPal or Wise payment has cleared, and that handling window is also an estimate. Business days exclude weekends and Japanese national holidays.
The policy lists the other things the estimates leave out: pre-order release timing, supplier allocation delays, quality inspection holds, weekends, Japanese national holidays, customs processing, carrier congestion, weather and destination-country delivery conditions. If dispatch is delayed, the policy says we will contact you by email as soon as practical with the revised estimate, and for significant delays before handoff to FedEx we may offer the option to wait or to cancel with a full refund.
Once an order has been handed to FedEx, timing is controlled by the carrier and destination-country authorities. Customs inspections, import procedures, remote-area handling and peak-season congestion can delay delivery. The policy says such transit delays are outside our control and do not by themselves create a right to cancel or refund after dispatch. There is no minimum order amount or quantity.
Two practical points from the policy. FedEx cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes, so enter a physical shipping address at checkout. And you are responsible for a complete and accurate address. While an order is paid and its shipment has not yet been scheduled, you can update the shipping address yourself from My Account > Orders. The destination country cannot be changed, and if the new address costs more to ship to, you pay the difference before dispatch. After the shipment is scheduled, the self-service change closes. After dispatch you can see the tracking number and the carrier’s latest delivery estimate in your account or the shipping confirmation email.
How can you pay for an OP-17 box?
You can pay by Wise bank transfer, PayPal, or a credit or debit card through PayPal, and all payments are made in Japanese yen (JPY). Our payment methods page (last updated November 5, 2026) explains each option.
| Method | Fee | Key terms |
|---|---|---|
| Wise (bank transfer) | No payment processing fee | Without a screenshot, the order is cancelled automatically if payment is not received within 12 hours (3 hours if the order contains a pre-order item). With a screenshot uploaded within 5 days, the order price is held for a total of 10 days. The screenshot option needs an account. |
| PayPal | 支付处理费(5%) | Payment is completed immediately at checkout using your PayPal balance or linked funding sources. |
| Credit and debit cards (through PayPal) | 支付处理费(5%) | Visa, Mastercard, American Express and JCB; which are offered depends on PayPal, based on your country and card. A PayPal account is usually not required. |
The page states that Wise bank transfer is the only method that does not carry the 5% payment processing fee. For Wise, enter the payment reference issued with your order, SST-{order number}, exactly as issued. If you pay by SWIFT, a receiving fee of JPY 611 is deducted before funds reach us, so the page asks you to add JPY 611 to your order total, and it recommends the OUR charge option so intermediary bank fees are covered on your side.
The page also describes PayPal Pay Later, which splits an eligible order into interest-free instalments. It is offered and operated by PayPal, not by Samurai Sword Tokyo, and PayPal decides whether any option is shown at checkout. For example, the page lists PayPal Pay in 4 in the United States and Canada, and Pay in 3 in the United Kingdom. Any difference between the amount we charge and your statement is set by your payment provider or bank and is outside our control.
