OFFICIAL UPDATE (August 31, 2026): Mega Lucario Z ex is now official. At the Pokémon World Championships 2026 closing ceremony, an official video revealed Mega Lucario Z ex — whose Ability is literally named “Aura Seeker” — plus four new MA rares (Mega Greninja ex, Mega Rayquaza ex, Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Zygarde ex), and announced ex★ (ex Star), the series that will follow the current MEGA series. Release dates and pack names are still unannounced. Full breakdown: everything shown at Worlds 2026.

“Mega Lucario Z” is a real Pokemon. It just isn’t a real Pokemon card — not yet, anyway.
The confusion is understandable. In the games, Mega Lucario Z is tied to Pokemon Legends Z-A‘s “M次元ラッシュ” (M-Dimension Rush) downloadable content. In the Japanese TCG rumor mill, “Mega Lucario Z ex” is the name attached to the rumored headline card of Aura Seeker (ハドウシーカー) — an expansion Nintendo, Creatures, and Game Freak have not officially announced. What’s actually printed and sitting in collections right now is a different, confirmed card with a similar name: Mega Lucario ex, across six Japanese printings released since August 2025.
This guide separates the two. First, what “Mega Lucario Z” means in the games and why it’s attached to a TCG rumor. Second, every Mega Lucario ex printing that exists today, with current market prices. Third, what’s actually been reported about Aura Seeker’s rumored chase card — and what hasn’t. We ship Japanese sealed product and PSA-graded singles out of Tokyo, so the numbers below come from the market we trade in daily.
No card named “Mega Lucario Z” has been printed. What exists is Mega Lucario ex, across six Japanese printings led by the MUR 092/063 (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order), currently listed at ¥142,737 in PSA10. “Mega Lucario Z ex” is a PokeBeach-reported, unconfirmed name tied to Aura Seeker’s rumored chase card — a set The Pokemon Company has not announced.
Prices reflect market data as of August 19, 2026, converted at about ¥147/USD. Japanese figures are SNKRDUNK secondary-market asks unless noted otherwise.
What Is “Mega Lucario Z”?
In the games, Mega Lucario Z is connected to Pokemon Legends Z-A‘s “M次元ラッシュ” (M-Dimension Rush) downloadable content. That’s the source community trackers point to when explaining why the name carries a “Z” instead of the standard Mega Lucario form collectors already know from the TCG.
On the card side, the “Z” naming shows up in a single, unconfirmed report: PokeBeach’s independent sourcing that Aura Seeker — an unannounced Japanese expansion — will headline “Mega Lucario Z ex.” Every outlet covering the rumor traces the guess back to the same two data points: the “Hadou” (波動, aura/wave) naming connection to Lucario, and the Legends Z-A DLC tie-in above. No card image, official teaser, or key visual has surfaced to confirm it — as of August 19, 2026, there is no leaked artwork circulating for a “Mega Lucario Z” card of any kind.
The Real Answer: No “Mega Lucario Z” Card Exists — Yet
Search Pokemon’s official product database and you’ll come up empty. As of August 19, 2026, pokemon-card.com lists zero products matching “Seeker,” and the URL paths collectors have guessed for the set all return 404. No set code has been confirmed by any official source. The only confirmed next product on Pokemon’s own release calendar is the expansion pack 30th CELEBRATION, shipping September 16, 2026 at ¥360 per 6-card pack.
What does exist, and has existed since August 2025, is Mega Lucario ex — no “Z,” no rumor attached, six confirmed Japanese printings across two sets. That’s the card most people searching for “Mega Lucario Z” actually mean, and it’s the card you can buy today.
Every Mega Lucario ex Printing & Price
Mega Lucario ex first printed in Mega Brave (M1L), the Japanese set that launched the MEGA era on August 1, 2025, then reprinted in the November 28, 2025 high-class pack MEGAドリームex (M2a). Six distinct printings exist between the two sets, ranked here by current PSA10 market value:
| # | 卡牌 | Set | Raw (rank A / B) | PSA10 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mega Lucario ex 092/063 MUR | Mega Brave | ¥50,000 / ¥38,000 | ¥136,000 |
| 2 | Mega Lucario ex 088/063 SAR | Mega Brave | ¥7,666 / ¥8,500 | ¥20,200 |
| 3 | Mega Lucario ex 078/063 SR | Mega Brave | ¥1,200 / ¥1,000 | ¥6,700 |
| 4 | Mega Lucario ex 228/193 MA | MEGAドリームex | ¥1,000 / ¥1,000 | ¥6,400 |
| 5 | Mega Lucario ex 029/063 RR | Mega Brave | ¥1,000 / ¥1,000 | ¥5,500 (1 listing only) |
| 6 | Mega Lucario ex 092/193 RR (reprint) | MEGAドリームex | Not tracked separately from the 092/063 line | |
The MUR (Mega Ultra Rare) 092/063 is the gold-treatment top print from Mega Brave and the most valuable Mega Lucario ex card printed to date, with PSA10 copies asking around ¥136,000 and one exceptional ARS10+ listing asked at ¥728,000 (a single listing, not a market baseline). PSA9 copies run closer to ¥41,500.
Two products round out the Mega Lucario ex lineup. The Mega Lucario ex Figure Collection ($29.99, released November 7, 2025) bundles a promo card (MEP 012), an oversized card, a figure, and five booster packs. Separately, the Mega Evolution Elite Trainer Box that uses Mega Lucario artwork on its packaging does not include a Mega Lucario ex promo — its included promo is Riolu, which trips up buyers who assume the box art guarantees the card inside.
What PokeBeach Reported About Aura Seeker’s Chase Card
The only substantive report tying “Mega Lucario Z” to an actual TCG product comes from PokeBeach on May 25, 2026, which cited independent sourcing that Aura Seeker will release in Japan on November 27, 2026 with “Mega Lucario Z ex” confirmed as the set’s headline card. PokeBeach also noted the set’s name doesn’t reference a card mechanic, which points toward a standard expansion pack rather than a high-class pack format. None of this has been confirmed by The Pokemon Company — the trademark filing from March 10, 2026 for “Hadou Seeker” (第28類, toys and games) remains the only official document connected to this set.

Other prediction sources line up around the same guess without adding confirmation. 攻略大百科 named Mega Lucario Z ex and Korrina (コルニ) as its predicted headliners back on March 11, 2026, based solely on the trademark. SNKRDUNK’s editorial team has floated speculative price targets — MUR around ¥70,000 and up, SAR around ¥30,000 and up — but the article itself states plainly that it’s “based on leaked information and editorial research,” not official pricing or a confirmed set list. Treat those numbers as a guess, not a market.
Timing is also unsettled. While PokeBeach and the meli-melo tracker both list November 27, 2026, altema and ポケカチ published a July 7, 2026 piece suggesting the set could slip to “2027 or later.” Aggregators disagree with each other, which is itself a signal that nothing is locked in yet.
A handful of Japanese and English retailers have opened speculative pre-sale listings anyway — DANDAN BASE at ¥440 per pack and Japan Figure at $380 per box, both pricing well above confirmed MEGA-era rates; see our release-date guide for the full breakdown and seller disclaimers. We do not carry Aura Seeker product and have no preorder timeline to share — there’s nothing official to preorder yet.
Why Early MEGA-Era Hype Fades
If Aura Seeker does headline with a Mega Lucario Z ex, the most useful comparison isn’t a price prediction — it’s what happened to the last MEGA-era flagship chase card. Storm Emeralda (M6), which launched July 31, 2026, opened with its Mega Rayquaza ex MUR asking around ¥298,000, climbed to ¥300,000–350,000 asks through its first week, then corrected roughly 60% to about ¥135,000 rank-A asks by August 19, 2026 as supply caught up with launch-week demand. Sealed boxes followed the same curve, dropping from launch pricing to a ¥16,900 lowest ask within three weeks.
Whatever number gets attached to “Mega Lucario Z ex” before Aura Seeker is confirmed, MEGA-era launch pricing has consistently overshot and then corrected within weeks. Speculative pre-sale listings and editorial price guesses reflect anticipation, not a settled market.
