Chikorita’s prints continue across three separate Japanese eras — a 2018 Sun & Moon set with two printings, a Sun & Moon promotional issue, a 2025 starter-deck box product, and a 2025 Mega-era set — all at Common rarity where verified.
SM8 Super Burst Impact (2018)
Super Burst Impact (SM8), released 7 September 2018, carries two separate Chikorita commons: number 002, illustrated by Aya Kusube, and number 003, illustrated by sowsow. Chikorita’s newest Japanese print is a foil full-art promo, numbered 104/M-P, per Japanese media reporting and the official image numbering. It belongs to 30th CELEBRATION Card Set 2, the Johto-starter entry in a nine-set release that pairs each region’s first-partner trio with its own promos.
Each of the nine sets in the release — including Set 2 — contains the same fixed contents: 3 foil full-art promo cards (one per trio member), 2 randomised booster packs of the 30th CELEBRATION expansion (6 張／包), and 1 paper card stand that holds 3 cards.

Chase Prints and What Makes Them Collectible
Across the prints we have verified, Chikorita has not carried a higher rarity tier such as AR, SAR, SR or CHR in any Japanese set we checked. Five of its nine other verified prints are confirmed Common (C); rarity is not stated in the source we checked for the remaining four — XYP 222, SMP 373, MP 001 and MC 016. Three of those four — XYP 222, SMP 373 and MP 001 — are promotional issues rather than set prints.
