MEGA x MEGA Parade vs MEGA Dream ex: Japanese High Class Pack Comparison

MEGA x MEGA Parade vs MEGA Dream ex: Japanese High Class Pack Comparison

One pack is official down to its 250th card; the other has four cards and a reported date. MEGA Dream ex (ハイクラスパック「MEGAドリームex」, set code M2a) released on November 28, 2025 with a product page, a card database entry for every card and the first Mega Attack Rares. MEGA x MEGA Parade (ハイクラスパック「MEGA×MEGA パレード」) is the pack Pokébeach reported on August 25, 2026 for Friday, February 19, 2027, and as of October 1, 2026 its official record is the four Mega Attack Rare renders the Pokémon Company showed on August 31.

The comparison is still useful, because the five high class packs since 2021 share a format that the Parade report repeats line for line: ¥550, ten cards, a secret block built on the year’s Mega Evolution ex cards. Setting the 2025 pack’s official figures beside the 2027 pack’s reported ones shows what a buyer can expect, what is new, and which numbers are still blank.

We sell Japanese sealed product and graded singles from Tokyo. Prices use ¥154/USD, verified October 1, 2026; MEGA Dream ex boxes are currently listed, and sourcing requests for the Parade set go through 快速訂購.

Key Takeaways

The M2A MEGA Dream ex booster box is currently listed at ¥12,936 (~$84) in its No Shrink option.

Total cards 250 (official database) — Not confirmed

Other secret rares 20 AR, 9 SR, 17 SAR, 1 MUR — Not shown
Headliners Mega Dragonite ex, Mega Ampharos ex, Mega Glalie ex (official page) Mega Raichu X, Mega Raichu Y Reported (Pokébeach); no card shown

English counterpart Ascended Heroes, January 30, 2026 (per Bulbapedia) — Not confirmed
Packs per box Not printed on the official page — Not confirmed

Read down the status column and the shape of the comparison is clear: the format rows match, the content rows are blank, and the calendar row is the one genuine change. Nothing reported for Parade contradicts the 2025 pack; what the report adds is a date eleven weeks later than the 2025 release and a main set 28 cards smaller, if the render denominator survives to print.

MEGA Dream ex: What the Official Record Shows

Official product image of the MEGA Dream ex high class pack
ハイクラスパック「MEGAドリームex」 — official product image from pokemon-card.com. Released November 28, 2025 at ¥550 per ten-card pack.

The official product page describes the pack as 「ポケモンカードゲーム MEGA ハイクラスパック「MEGAドリーム ex」 希望小売価格:550円(税込) 内容物:カード10枚入り」, introduces MA (メガアタックレア) as a new rarity of Mega Evolution Pokémon ex with special artwork and a mirror finish, mentions AR and SAR, and names Mega Dragonite ex, Mega Ampharos ex and Mega Glalie ex among the featured lines. It prints no pull rate and no packs-per-box figure.

The official card database fills in the rest: 250 entries, a 193-card main set with 27 Double Rares among the base cards, and 57 secret rares above the line — 20 Art Rares (194–213), 9 Super Rares, 10 Mega Attack Rares (223–232), 17 Special Art Rares and a single Mega Ultra Rare, Mega Dragonite ex at 250/193. Bulbapedia records that the set has no official English name and that Ascended Heroes, released January 30, 2026, “includes cards from the Japanese MEGA Dream ex subset and the Start Deck 100 Battle Collection”, and that “The Mega attack rare rarity is a new type of card rarity introduced in the Ascended Heroes expansion, originally released in the Japanese MEGA Dream ex subset.”

The MEGA Dream ex complete guide and the MEGA Dream ex card list cover the set card by card, and the m2a card list page links every card to a listing.

MEGA x MEGA Parade: What Is Shown and What Is Reported

The official record for Parade is one video and one recap. On August 31, 2026 the Pokémon Company’s Japanese and English YouTube channels posted the ex★ reveal videos after the World Championships, and pokemon.com’s closing-ceremony recap named “Mega Darkrai ex, Mega Zygarde ex, Mega Greninja ex, and Mega Rayquaza ex” as Mega Attack Rares shown. The renders carry the code m7a, the numbers 208, 214, 217 and 218 over 165, regulation mark J and a 2027 copyright line, under the caption “Cards shown are under development and may differ from the final products.” No official page names the set, and the set placement of the four cards comes from Pokébeach’s August 31 article (“from what is presumably February’s MEGA x MEGA Parade”).

The reported record is Pokébeach’s August 25 article: the Friday, February 19, 2027 release, ¥550 packs of ten cards with one hit card, and Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y as the featured Pokémon. Retailer listings carry placeholder dates (2027/2/17 on a Yahoo! Shopping store; February 19, 2027 on an export retailer). The MEGA x MEGA Parade hub keeps the full status table, and the card list tracker logs each card as it is shown.

Mega Attack Rares: Ten Then, Four So Far

MEGA Dream ex’s ten Mega Attack Rares were re-illustrated versions of Mega Evolution ex cards from the 2025 expansions, credited to four illustrators: Saboteri (Mega Charizard X ex 223, Mega Froslass ex 224, Mega Gardevoir ex 226), DOM (Mega Eelektross ex 225, Mega Diancie ex 227, Mega Dragonite ex 232), 5ban Graphics (Mega Lucario ex 228) and Taiga Kasai (Mega Hawlucha ex 229, Mega Gengar ex 230, Mega Scrafty ex 231). The four Parade renders credit the same four names — Taiga Kasai on Mega Greninja ex, 5ban Graphics on Mega Zygarde ex, DOM on Mega Darkrai ex, Saboteri on Mega Rayquaza ex — and each card’s text matches its existing 2026 print in the official database, which is the MEGA Dream ex pattern repeated.

Two 2025 MA cards in graded form: the PSA 10 Mega Charizard X ex MA 223/193 is currently listed at ¥11,502 (~$75) and the PSA 10 Mega Diancie ex MA 227/193 at ¥4,145 (~$27). The 2026 prints of the four Parade cards have a PSA 10 back-order route; the Mega Rayquaza ex SAR 110/076, for instance, is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥91,453 (~$594) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms. The Mega Attack Rare complete list covers all fourteen cards.

Headliners: Dragonite, Ampharos, Glalie vs Raichu X and Y

MEGA Dream ex’s official page names Mega Dragonite ex, Mega Ampharos ex and Mega Glalie ex as featured lines, and the database bears it out: Mega Dragonite ex holds the set’s only Mega Ultra Rare at 250/193 and an MA at 232/193. Parade’s reported headliners are a different kind of card. Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y are Mega Evolutions that debuted in the Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A Mega Dimension content (released December 10, 2025) and have no card at all yet; the official pokemon.co.jp page gives them as ねずみポケモン, でんき type, 1.2 m / 38.0 kg and 1.0 m / 26.0 kg, with the Mega Stones ライチュウナイトX and ライチュウナイトY.

That difference matters for what a buyer is looking at. Every MEGA Dream ex chase card was a re-illustration of a card already printed in 2025; a Raichu X or Y card would be a first print. Which rarities the pair receives, and whether they appear in the main set, the secret block or both, is not confirmed. The Mega Raichu X and Y guide keeps the official game facts and the Raichu prints we list in one place.

Calendar: Late November vs Mid-February

日期 Event Status
November 28, 2025 MEGA Dream ex released in Japan Official
January 30, 2026 Ascended Heroes released in English (per Bulbapedia) Bulbapedia
July 1–7, 2026 MEGA×MEGA パレード trademark filed, published and reported registered Reported (Pokébeach, gamepedia)
August 25, 2026 Pokébeach reports the February 19, 2027 date Reported
August 31, 2026 Four Mega Attack Rares shown in the official video Official
September 16, 2026 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) worldwide release, which Pokébeach reads as the reason the high class pack moved to February Official date; Pokébeach’s interpretation
February 19, 2027 MEGA x MEGA Parade release Reported (Pokébeach); no official page as of October 1, 2026

If the reported date holds, the two high class packs are 448 days apart instead of the usual year, and Parade becomes the first pack in the line released outside November–December. For English-language collectors, the earlier packs’ counterparts arrived 42 to 63 days after Japan per Bulbapedia; no counterpart for Parade had been announced as of October 1, 2026, and we do not give a date of our own. The high class pack history sets both packs against the 2021–2024 releases.

Buying Now vs Waiting

The two packs are not substitutes for each other: MEGA Dream ex is the 2025 year in Mega Evolution ex cards, with Mega Gengar ex, Mega Charizard X ex and Mega Dragonite ex at the top of its secret block; Parade, if it follows the pattern, is the 2026 year, with Mega Greninja ex, Mega Zygarde ex, Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Rayquaza ex already shown. A collector who wants the 2025 cards is buying a known set at a known price, and a collector who wants the 2026 cards is waiting on a product with no official page, no price and no listing.

On the Japanese secondary market the sealed MEGA Dream ex box carried a lowest asking price of ¥12,400 on SNKRDUNK on September 30, 2026 (listing price, not a sale). Our sealed box in its No Shrink option is currently listed at ¥12,936 (~$84), with the Damaged Box at ¥11,977 (~$78) and the No Shrink Damaged Box at ¥11,490 (~$75) as separate products. For the Parade set, a sourcing request through Quick Order records interest without a price or an allocation on either side; the pre-order guide explains what that does and does not commit to.

常見問題

How is MEGA x MEGA Parade different from MEGA Dream ex?

MEGA Dream ex is the released 2025 high class pack: 250 cards over a 193-card main set, ten Mega Attack Rares, official page and database. MEGA x MEGA Parade is reported for February 19, 2027 with the same ¥550, ten-card pack, a 165-card denominator on its renders and four Mega Attack Rares shown so far.

When did MEGA Dream ex release, and when does MEGA x MEGA Parade release?

MEGA Dream ex released on November 28, 2025, per its official product page. MEGA x MEGA Parade is reported by Pokébeach (August 25, 2026) for Friday, February 19, 2027; the official site had not listed it as of October 1, 2026, so that date is reported rather than official.

How many Mega Attack Rares are in each pack?

MEGA Dream ex has ten, numbered 223/193 to 232/193 in the official database. MEGA x MEGA Parade has four shown so far, numbered 208, 214, 217 and 218 over 165 on under-development renders; the total for the Parade set is not confirmed as of October 1, 2026.

How much does a MEGA Dream ex box cost now?

Our M2A MEGA Dream ex booster box is currently listed at ¥12,936 (~$84) in its No Shrink option, with the Damaged Box at ¥11,977 (~$78) and the No Shrink Damaged Box at ¥11,490 (~$75) as separate products. SNKRDUNK’s lowest asking price for a sealed box was ¥12,400 on September 30, 2026.

Are the Parade Mega Attack Rares new cards or reprints?

The text on the four renders matches each card’s existing 2026 print in the official database, with the same HP and attack names, so they are re-illustrated versions, exactly as the ten MEGA Dream ex Mega Attack Rares were re-illustrations of 2025 cards. The illustrator credits on the renders are the same four names as in 2025.

Which pack is the English Ascended Heroes based on?

MEGA Dream ex. Bulbapedia states that Ascended Heroes, released January 30, 2026, includes cards from the Japanese MEGA Dream ex subset and the Start Deck 100 Battle Collection, and that the Mega Attack Rare rarity was introduced there after its Japanese debut. No English counterpart of MEGA x MEGA Parade had been announced as of October 1, 2026.
