Weavile Pokemon Cards: Every Printing Guide (2019-2024)

Weavile Pokemon Cards: Every Printing Guide (2019-2024)

Search „Weavile Character Rare“ and you’ll find lists claiming a CHR printing exists. Pull up the card on Limitless TCG’s own database, and the rarity field says something else entirely.

Weavile — マニューラ in Japanese — has quietly picked up six confirmed printings across five Japanese sets between 2019 and 2024, spanning the tail end of the Sun & Moon era through the current Scarlet & Violet block. None of them is a GX, V, or ex. None of them, as far as direct verification shows, is a Character Rare either. This guide runs through every confirmed printing, sorts out where the CHR claim came from, and tells you which sets to look in if you want to pull one yourself.

Unlike a lot of the characters that headline their own secret-rare chase slots, Weavile has stayed in the Common-to-Rare band across every single printing on record. That makes it a different kind of collecting target: less about hunting one $1,000 card, more about assembling a complete run across five sets and two console generations of the TCG.

Key Takeaways

Six confirmed Weavile printings exist across five Japanese sets from Dream League (2019) to Night Wanderer (2024) — all standard Uncommons, Commons, or Rares. No GX, V, or ex form has been confirmed. A widely repeated „Character Rare“ listing for the 051/049 Dream League printing does not hold up against direct verification, which shows a Common rarity instead.

Box prices below are current listings on samuraiswordtokyo.com as of August 2026, converted at ¥159/USD. Single Weavile cards are not currently listed individually on our site, so no per-card price is given — each set below is identified by card number and rarity only.

Every Confirmed Weavile Card

Sorted by release date, here is every Weavile printing confirmed for this guide:

Karte Set Number Rarity Release date
Weavile Dream League (SM11b) 008/049 Uncommon Aug 2, 2019
Weavile (2nd printing) Dream League (SM11b) 051/049 Common Aug 2, 2019
Weavile Jet-Black Spirit (S6K) 012/070 Rare Apr 23, 2021
Weavile Star Birth (S9) 063/100 Uncommon Jan 14, 2022
Weavile Clay Burst (SV2D) 051/071 Rare Apr 14, 2023
Weavile Night Wanderer (SV6a) 014/064 Uncommon Jun 7, 2024

Two things stand out. First, Weavile has never headlined a set the way its evolution line’s more famous relatives sometimes do — every printing here sits in the Common-to-Rare band, not the secret or alternate-art tiers. Second, the card shows up reliably across five years and both the Sun & Moon and Scarlet & Violet eras, which makes it a realistic set to chase across generations rather than a one-off pull.

The 2019 Debut: Dream League and the CHR Question

Weavile’s first modern-era Japanese printing came in Dream League (SM11b), released August 2, 2019 — and it appeared twice in the same set.

Weavile U 008/049 Dream League

Weavile U 008/049 (Dream League)

Weavile C 051/049 Dream League second printing

Weavile C 051/049 (Dream League, 2nd printing)

The 008/049 copy is the straightforward Uncommon — the version most collectors think of first. The 051/049 copy is more interesting: its number runs past the set’s stated 49-card count, which in Sun & Moon-era Japanese sets is usually the slot reserved for an alternate-art or secret print.

That numbering is likely why some card databases have listed 051/049 as a Character Rare (CHR) — a rarity tier Pokemon TCG occasionally used for character-focused alternate prints. Direct verification of the card’s own rarity field, however, shows Common, not CHR. For this guide, we’re going with what the card itself says. If you see 051/049 listed elsewhere as a Character Rare, treat that as an unconfirmed claim rather than settled fact.

Check the Number, Not Just the Art

Both Dream League Weavile cards use similar artwork, so the fastest way to tell them apart is the print number in the bottom corner — 008/049 versus 051/049.

The Sword & Shield Era: Jet-Black Spirit & Star Birth

Weavile’s next two Japanese appearances came about nine months apart, both within the Sword & Shield block.

Weavile R 012/070 Jet-Black Spirit

Weavile R 012/070 (Jet-Black Spirit)

Weavile U 063/100 Star Birth

Weavile U 063/100 (Star Birth)

Jet-Black Spirit (S6K), released April 23, 2021, gave Weavile its only Rare-tier standard printing at 012/070. It’s a step up from the Dream League Uncommon in rarity terms, though still a mainline set card rather than a chase slot. Boxes of this set are currently listed at ¥21,210 (~$133) on our site, with 7 units in the current listing.

Star Birth (S9), released January 14, 2022, added an Uncommon printing at 063/100. Between the two, Jet-Black Spirit is the rarer print (Rare versus Uncommon), which is a reasonable tiebreaker if you’re deciding which of these two sets to prioritize opening first. Boxes of Star Birth are currently listed at ¥22,890 (~$144) (Update: derzeit ausverkauft — Nachschub über Quick Order anfragen), with 5 units in the current listing.

The Scarlet & Violet Era: Clay Burst & Night Wanderer

Weavile’s most recent printings sit in the current Scarlet & Violet block, one Rare and one Uncommon, released about fourteen months apart.

Weavile R 051/071 Clay Burst

Weavile R 051/071 (Clay Burst)

Weavile U 014/064 Night Wanderer

Weavile U 014/064 (Night Wanderer)

Clay Burst (SV2D), released April 14, 2023, carries Weavile as a Rare at 051/071 — the same rarity slot as the Jet-Black Spirit printing two years earlier. Boxes of this set are currently listed from ¥10,400 to ¥11,832 (~$65–$74) depending on the specific listing, across multiple individual listings rather than a single fixed price.

Night Wanderer (SV6a), released June 7, 2024, is Weavile’s newest confirmed printing to date — an Uncommon at 014/064. Like Clay Burst, boxes are currently listed across a price range from ¥10,400 to ¥12,240 (~$65–$77) rather than one fixed listing.

No Weavile GX, V, VMAX, or ex form has turned up in this research across either era. That doesn’t rule one out existing somewhere in the wider catalogue, but nothing in the sets checked here confirms it. If a GX-era Weavile variant surfaces elsewhere, it hasn’t been verified for this guide, and we’re not going to guess at a card number that hasn’t been checked directly.

Comparing the Five Sets at a Glance

If you’re deciding which set to open first, here’s how the five stack up on the two things that matter most — rarity of the Weavile print and current box price:

Set Weavile rarity Current box price Listed units
Dream League (SM11b) U + C (two prints) ¥176,400 (~$1,109) 5
Jet-Black Spirit (S6K) R ¥21,210 (~$133) 7
Star Birth (S9) U ¥22,890 (~$144) (Update: derzeit ausverkauft — Nachschub über Quick Order anfragen) 5
Clay Burst (SV2D) R ¥10,400–¥11,832 (~$65–$74) Multiple listings
Night Wanderer (SV6a) U ¥10,400–¥12,240 (~$65–$77) Multiple listings

The two current Scarlet & Violet sets, Clay Burst and Night Wanderer, sit at the lowest current box price of the five and both carry a Weavile print — a Rare in Clay Burst, an Uncommon in Night Wanderer. Dream League stands well above the rest in box price, and it’s also the only set here with two separate Weavile printings inside it. Jet-Black Spirit and Star Birth sit in between, with Jet-Black Spirit carrying the higher of the two Sword & Shield-era rarities for this character.

Identifying Which Weavile Card You Have

With six printings spread across five sets, the print number in the bottom corner of the card is the fastest way to confirm what you’re holding — not the artwork, which can look similar between prints from adjacent eras.

  • Check the number/total format. Each printing lists a number out of the set’s total card count — for example, 008/049 for the standard Dream League Uncommon versus 051/049 for the second printing, where the number runs past the stated total.
  • Match the set code, not just the name. Dream League is SM11b, Jet-Black Spirit is S6K, Star Birth is S9, Clay Burst is SV2D, and Night Wanderer is SV6a. The set code is usually printed in small type near the card number and is the most reliable way to tell two similarly-named eras apart.
  • Don’t assume rarity from the symbol alone. The rarity marking on a Japanese card (Common, Uncommon, Rare) is a more reliable identifier than assuming a card is special because of unusual numbering — as the 051/049 case above shows, a number that looks like a secret-rare slot doesn’t automatically mean an elevated rarity.

If you already own a Weavile card and aren’t sure which of the six printings it is, cross-referencing the set code and print number against the table at the top of this guide will place it exactly. This matters most for the Dream League pair, since 008/049 and 051/049 are the two printings most likely to be confused with one another given how closely their release date and general presentation line up.

How to Collect Weavile Cards

Because none of the six confirmed printings are individually listed as singles on our site right now, the practical way to chase a specific Weavile card is to buy sealed product from the set it appeared in and open it yourself, or to flag the card you want through a restock request.

Which approach makes sense depends on what you’re actually after. If you want to complete the full six-printing run, opening boxes from all five sets is the more direct path, since each box comes from sealed Japanese packs rather than waiting on a single listing to reappear. If you only want one specific card — the 051/049 Dream League print with the disputed CHR history, for example, or the 012/070 Jet-Black Spirit Rare — a restock request through Quick Order is usually the faster and cheaper route, since it skips the cost of opening an entire box for one card.

Each of the five sets above is currently available as a Japanese booster box:

  • Dream League (SM11b) — the 2019 debut set with both the 008/049 and 051/049 printings
  • Jet-Black Spirit (S6K) — the 012/070 Rare
  • Star Birth (S9) — the 063/100 Uncommon
  • Clay Burst (SV2D) — the 051/071 Rare, current Scarlet & Violet era
  • Night Wanderer (SV6a) — the 014/064 Uncommon, most recent printing

If you’re after a specific single — say the 051/049 Dream League printing or the 012/070 Jet-Black Spirit Rare — the fastest route is a restock request via our Quick Order page, since these are not currently held as standing singles inventory.

Where to Buy Weavile Cards from Japan

We ship Japanese sealed product out of Tokyo with tracked delivery worldwide. Beyond the Star Birth box above, the other four sets covering Weavile are also currently available:

Night Wanderer (SV6a) 014/064 U ¥10,400–¥12,240 (~$65–$77) Set card list

For the full checklist of any of these sets before you buy, use the set card list links above, or browse our PSA 10 card list hub for graded Japanese cards across sets. If you’re building out a broader character collection, our Froslass cards guide and Gholdengo cards guide cover similarly-scoped multi-set printing histories. For anything not listed here, our Quick Order page is the fastest way to build a mixed order or request a restock.

All five boxes ship from Tokyo with tracked delivery, and since Weavile isn’t the headline pull in any of these sets, opening a box gets you a full set-appropriate mix of cards alongside whichever Weavile printing that set carries — not a guaranteed single copy, but a reasonable way to build toward the full six-printing run over time if you’re opening more than one box per set.

Häufig gestellte Fragen

Is there a Character Rare Weavile card?

Not confirmed. Some card databases list the Dream League 051/049 printing as a Character Rare (CHR), but direct verification of the card’s own rarity field shows Common instead. This guide follows the Common designation.

What sets feature Weavile in the Scarlet & Violet era?

Two so far: Clay Burst (SV2D), released April 2023, with Weavile as a Rare at 051/071, and Night Wanderer (SV6a), released June 2024, with Weavile as an Uncommon at 014/064.

Does Weavile have a GX, V, or ex card?

No GX, V, or ex form has been confirmed in this research. All six confirmed Weavile printings are standard Common, Uncommon, or Rare cards.

When was the first modern-era Weavile card released?

Dream League (SM11b), released August 2, 2019, which included two printings — an Uncommon at 008/049 and a second printing at 051/049.

Are single Weavile cards currently in stock?

Not as individually listed singles at the time of writing. Weavile cards from any of the five sets covered here can be pulled from the corresponding Japanese booster box, and restock requests for specific singles can be made via our Quick Order page.
