OP-17 Complete Guide: The World’s Strongest Warriors (Japanese Edition) Release Dates, Box Contents, Cards and Editions

OP-17 is the Japanese ONE PIECE Card Game booster set ブースターパック 世界最強の戦士, sold in English as The World’s Strongest Warriors. It went on sale in Japan on August 22, 2026 at 240 yen per pack. It is the game’s 4th anniversary product. The Four Emperors appear as leader cards, the Straw Hats wear their Elbaf outfits, and Rocks.D.Xebec appears in the card game for the first time.

This guide covers the whole OP-17 set in one place. It explains what the official pages confirm, how the Japanese edition differs from the Asia English and US English editions, what a box holds, which card numbers the official pages feature, and what to expect when you order sealed OP-17 product from Tokyo. Every fact below comes from Bandai’s official pages or from our own product pages, and the official source is linked next to each key fact.

What is OP-17? Key facts at a glance

OP-17 is the set code of a ONE PIECE Card Game booster pack. In Japan it is called ブースターパック 世界最強の戦士 (Booster Pack: The World’s Strongest Warriors), which is also the title of the Japanese official product page. The full Japanese catalog name is ONE PIECEカードゲーム 世界最強の戦士【OP-17】. The table below lists the main facts.

The sealed Japanese box is listed on our OP-17 The World’s Strongest Warriors Japanese booster box page. Pricing and availability are shown on that page and confirmed at checkout. If you are mainly here to buy a box, our OP-17 booster box buying guide covers that question in more depth. This page stays on the set itself.

The ONE PIECE official news post presents OP-17 as the product for the card game’s 4th anniversary. It lists three headline points: the whole Straw Hat crew appears in Elbaf-arc outfits, the Four Emperors appear as leader cards with many members of their crews included, and Rocks.D.Xebec makes his first appearance in the ONE PIECE Card Game. Bandai’s own catalog entry says the card game has «finally landed on Elbaf» and teases that a certain character also appears. The catalog lists the product for ages 9 and up, sold in toy sections.

When did OP-17 release in Japan and in English?

The Japanese edition of OP-17 went on sale on August 22, 2026. The Asia English edition was also listed as available from August 22, 2026, and the US English edition had a pre-release on August 21 and a release on August 28, 2026.

Each edition has its own official page and its own date, so it helps to keep the dates apart. The ONE PIECE official news post and the Bandai catalog both give August 22, 2026 for Japan. The Bandai catalog adds a standard note: the planned release date may vary by region and by store.

The Asia English official page reads «AVAILABLE AUG. 22, 2026». The US English official page lists a pre-release on August 21, 2026 and the release on August 28, 2026. It also says the cards are legal from the pre-release date at your local game store.

If you follow the English-language game, our article on the OP-17 English release date and pre-release events goes through the US schedule in more detail. For collectors buying from Japan, the date that matters is August 22, 2026.

What is inside an OP-17 pack and a Japanese booster box?

Each OP-17 pack holds 6 cards, and a Japanese OP-17 booster box holds 24 packs. The set has 131+4 card types in total, written that way on the official pages.

The 6-cards-per-pack figure is printed on the Asia English official page («1 pack : 6 cards (total 131+4 types)»). The 24-pack box count comes from our own Japanese box listing, which says each box contains 24 booster packs with 6 cartas por sobre. A full box therefore holds 24 sealed packs of the same set.

The «131+4» figure is how the official English and Asia English pages state the total. The pages do not explain the split in the text we have, so this guide repeats the figure as written and does not break it down further. Some articles count the main card numbers only. When you compare counts, check which figure a source is using.

Above the box is the carton (case). Our OP-17 carton listing describes one full carton of 12 Japanese OP-17 booster boxes. It ships as the carton itself, not as 12 individual boxes. The structure of the Japanese product is:

• 1 pack = 6 cards
• 1 booster box = 24 packs
• 1 carton (case) = 12 booster boxes

The official pages carry one note about contents that every buyer should read. In the official wording: «Due to the nature of the product, multiples of one card may appear, or it may be difficult to assemble a full set.» Our box listing says the same thing in plainer terms: it is a sealed, randomized product, the cards in each box are packed at random at the factory, and individual pulls are not guaranteed. A box is a set of random packs, not a fixed list of cards.

Which cards define OP-17?

The official pages build OP-17 around three groups: the Four Emperors as leader cards, the Rocks Pirates led by Rocks.D.Xebec, and the Straw Hat crew in their Elbaf outfits. The featured card on the US English page is OP17-079 Monkey.D.Luffy, shown as a Super Leader alt-art.

The Four Emperors leader cards

The US English official page lists four Yonko leader cards. Together with the Luffy Super Leader alt-art, these are the leader numbers the official page names:

For effects and the leaders’ alternate versions, see our OP-17 leader cards guide. This guide only lists the numbers and names the official page gives.

The Super Alt-Art cards of the Four Emperors

Both English official pages show a group of Super alt-art cards for the Four Emperors, and the two pages do not list exactly the same numbers. The US English page lists OP17-005, OP17-022, OP17-062 and OP17-112. The Asia English page shows OP17-022, OP17-005, OP17-063 and OP17-112. So the US page has OP17-062 where the Asia page has OP17-063. Three numbers match on both pages: OP17-005, OP17-022 and OP17-112.

Our OP-17 parallel and alt-art card list and the OP-17 SP cards and new Emperors guide cover these special versions card by card.

The Rocks Pirates and Rocks.D.Xebec

Rocks.D.Xebec is the big new name in OP-17. The ONE PIECE official news says this set is his first appearance in the ONE PIECE Card Game. The US English page lists him as OP17-118, with a long list of Rocks Pirates crew cards:

• OP17-118 Rocks.D.Xebec
• OP17-040 Edward.Newgate
• OP17-041 Wang Zhi
• OP17-042 Kaido
• OP17-043 Ganzui
• OP17-044 Captain John
• OP17-045 Kyo
• OP17-046 Gloriosa
• OP17-048 Shiki
• OP17-049 Charlotte Linlin
• OP17-050 Streusen
• OP17-052 Don Marlon
• OP17-053 Barbel
• OP17-054 Miss Buckingham Stussy

The Asia English page shows a smaller selection of Rocks Pirates members, led by Rocks D. Xebec: OP17-039, OP17-118, OP17-046, OP17-048, OP17-049 and OP17-054. On the US English page, three names appear in both the Yonko leader list and the Rocks Pirates list: Edward.Newgate (OP17-001 and OP17-040), Kaido (OP17-058 and OP17-042) and Charlotte Linlin (OP17-099 and OP17-049).

The Straw Hat crew in Elbaf outfits

The ONE PIECE official news says the whole Straw Hat crew appears in their Elbaf-arc outfits. The US English page lists these Straw Hat crew cards: OP17-119 Loki, OP17-095 Roronoa Zoro, OP17-086 Nami, OP17-080 Usopp, OP17-082 Sanji, OP17-084 Tony Tony.Chopper, OP17-087 Nico Robin, OP17-090 Franky, OP17-091 Brook and OP17-083 Jinbe. The Asia English page says the Elbaph-arc Straw Hat Pirates and giants are featured, and shows OP17-119 as an example.

Which of these cards are the big hits is a question about the market, not about the official facts. Our OP-17 chase cards guide covers it separately.

What rarities are in OP-17, and can you complete the set from boxes?

The US English official page lists nine rarity groups for OP-17: Special Cards, Treasure Rare, Leader Cards, Secret Rares, Super Rares, Rares, Uncommons, Commons and DON!! Cards. Bandai also warns that a full set may be difficult to build from packs.

Here is what the official page and our related guides say about each group:

• Commons, Uncommons and Rares are listed as three separate groups on the official page.
• Leader Cards are listed as their own group. In OP-17 that includes the four Yonko leaders listed above.
• Super Rares and Secret Rares are listed as two groups. See our OP-17 Super Rare cards guide for that group.
• Special Cards and Treasure Rare are listed as separate groups on the official page.
• DON!! Cards are listed on the rarity line too.

This guide does not give pull-rate figures. The official statement is the one to plan around: duplicates can appear and a full set may be hard to complete. Opening sealed boxes gives you random packs. If you need one particular card, a sealed box does not promise it.

For a list of every card number by colour and rarity, use our OP-17 card list by colour and rarity. We do not repeat the full list here because a separate page already covers it.

How is the Japanese OP-17 different from the English editions?

The Japanese edition of OP-17 has Japanese-language cards and the Japanese title 世界最強の戦士. It went on sale on August 22, 2026 at 240 yen per pack. The English editions use the title The World’s Strongest Warriors and have their own release pages and dates.

Some basic product facts match. Our Japanese box listing and the Asia English official page both give 6 cartas por sobre, and both English official pages list 131+4 types. The English official pages feature the Luffy Super Leader alt-art OP17-079, the Four Emperors, the Rocks Pirates and the Elbaf-arc Straw Hats. The Japanese official news highlights the Four Emperors as leaders, Rocks.D.Xebec and the Straw Hats in Elbaf-arc outfits. What differs:

• Language. Japanese edition cards are printed in Japanese. Our box listing is the Japanese original edition.
• Dates. Japan: August 22, 2026. Asia English: available August 22, 2026. US English: pre-release August 21, release August 28, 2026.
• Listed prices. Japan: 240 yen per pack, tax included. US English: MSRP USD $4.99 per pack.
• Small listing differences. As noted above, the Super Alt-Art list on the US page includes OP17-062, while the Asia English page shows OP17-063 in that slot.

The US page notes that English OP-17 cards are legal from the pre-release date at your local game store. Our OP-17 Japanese vs English comparison goes through the decision step by step.

Box, carton or damaged box: which OP-17 Japanese listing fits you?

We carry three Japanese OP-17 listings: a single sealed booster box, a full carton of 12 boxes, and a discounted Damaged Box with outer-box damage. The first two differ in quantity; the Damaged Box is an unopened box sold as-is at a discount because of outer-box damage.

The single sealed box

The single box is the Japanese original edition, brand new and sealed, with 24 packs. Our OP-17 vs OP-16 comparison may help if you are choosing between this set and the one before it.

The carton

Our carton listing describes one full carton (case) of 12 Japanese OP-17 booster boxes, shipped as the carton itself, not as 12 individual boxes. It ships from Tokyo by FedEx with a tracking number. The OP-17 case buying guide compares box and case buying in more depth.

The Damaged Box

The Damaged Box listing is an unopened OP-17 booster box. It is discounted because of damage to the outer box, such as dents, crushed corners, creased edges or scuffs. The listing says the cards inside are unaffected. Read its terms carefully before you buy. The first image shows the regular product. The condition photos after it are sample photos of damaged boxes from the same stock, and the box you receive may differ from them. The type and amount of damage varies. The item is sold as-is, inquiries about it are not answered, and returns and refunds are not accepted.

The listing explains why these boxes exist. Our Tokyo warehouse buys large volumes of Japanese trading cards every day, and some boxes arrive with dents or scratches. Staff inspect every item against set condition standards. Boxes that cannot be sold as mint are kept apart from regular stock. The Damaged Box suits buyers who plan to open the packs and do not mind the outer box. It does not suit anyone who wants a display-grade sealed box.

What else uses OP-17 packs or came with the release?

Two official items are linked to OP-17: the Super Premium Collection vol.1, which contains 24 OP-17 booster packs, and the 4th Anniversary Event that ran alongside the English release.

Super Premium Collection vol.1

The Asia English official page for the Super Premium Collection vol.1 lists a release date of November 13, 2026 and these contents:

• Booster Pack [OP-17] x 24
• Promotion Card x 2 (2 types)
• Metal Card x 2 (2 types)
• Card Sleeves x 70 (1 type)

Its pack count matches a booster box, 24 OP-17 packs, plus promos, metal cards and sleeves. It is a separate product from the booster box. The date above is the one shown on the Asia English site.

The 4th Anniversary Event (OP-17 Release Event)

The English official event page describes a 4th Anniversary Event, also called the OP-17 Release Event. It ran from August 21 to September 13, 2026, and store applications opened from August 7, 2026. Prizes included a 4th Anniversary Tournament Pack (75 types in total), a 4th Anniversary Leader Card (the page shows P-110 Monkey.D.Luffy), and World United DON!! Cards in two designs. These were event prizes. They are not part of the OP-17 booster box contents, and the event period has ended.

How does ordering a Japanese OP-17 box from Tokyo work?

Orders ship from Tokyo by FedEx with a tracking number. Most orders are processed and shipped within 5 business days after payment clears, and all payments are in Japanese yen.

The table below summarises our shipping policy and payment methods page. Those pages are the full rules.

A few practical points from those pages. Delivery estimates do not include our handling time, weekends, Japanese national holidays, customs processing or carrier congestion. After FedEx has the parcel, customs inspections and import procedures in your country can add time. If dispatch is delayed before handoff to FedEx, we contact you by email with the revised estimate. For significant delays, we may offer the choice to wait or to cancel with a full refund. If you pay by Wise, enter the payment reference issued with your order, in the form SST-{order number}, exactly as issued. PayPal Pay Later is not available to buyers in Japan, and whether it appears at all is decided by PayPal.
