The shiny Entei Pokemon card that collectors search for is エンテイ 213/190 in SV4a, the set named Shiny Treasure ex. It is the secret-numbered Entei of that set, credited to Ryuta Fuse, and it sits next to a regular Entei from the same set, 028/190, credited to toriyufu. The official Japanese card database on pokemon-card.com lists both with 130 HP and word-for-word identical card text, so the number in the corner and the illustrator line are what separate them.
This guide lays the two cards side by side, renders the Japanese card text into English, explains what a number above the set count tells you and what it does not, and clears up a common mix-up: the older Shiny Star V set (S4a) also has a 190-card main set, so a « /190 » number alone does not name the set. Our own prices below are the listings on October 29, 2026, converted at ¥154/USD.
- SV4a has two Entei rows in the official database: 028/190 (toriyufu) and 213/190 (Ryuta Fuse). Both are Basic, 130 HP, with the same Ability and attack text.
- 213/190 is numbered above the set count of 190. The database does not print a rarity letter, so this guide does not name one; collectors search the print as « shiny Entei ».
- S4a Shiny Star V is a different set that also ends in /190. Our S4A-Shiny Star V Japanese Pokemon Booster Box belongs to that set, not to SV4a.
The Two Entei Rows in SV4a
The official database holds two エンテイ entries with the set code SV4a. They differ in number, illustrator credit and card ID; the rest of the printed data matches.
| Field | SV4a 028/190 | SV4a 213/190 |
|---|---|---|
| Illustrator | toriyufu | Ryuta Fuse |
| Stage and HP | Basic, 130 | Basic, 130 |
| Pokedex line | No.244 かざんポケモン | No.244 かざんポケモン |
| Ability | プレッシャー | プレッシャー |
| Attack | ブレイズボール60+ | ブレイズボール60+ |
| Weakness, resistance, retreat cost | Weakness ×2 (type shown as an icon); Resistance none; retreat cost shown as icons, not stated here | Weakness ×2 (type shown as an icon); Resistance none; retreat cost shown as icons, not stated here |
| Number against the set count | Inside 190 | Above 190 |
| Database card ID | 44551 | 44999 |

Look at the two images together. The database credits two different illustrators, so the two cards carry different artwork, and the images above are the official reference for telling them apart. For a wider look at Entei across eras, our Entei cards guide and the legendary beasts card guide are the broader references; this page covers the SV4a pair.
The Card Text, Rendered From the Japanese
The text below is our English reading of the printed Japanese for Entei 213/190 (rendering). It is the same text printed on 028/190. The names in quotation marks are renderings of the Japanese names, not official translations.
| Printed name | Type | Damage | Effect, rendered |
|---|---|---|---|
| プレッシャー | Ability | None | As long as this Pokemon is in the Active Spot, damage from attacks used by your opponent’s Active Pokemon is reduced by 20. |
| ブレイズボール | Attack | 60+ | Does 20 more damage for each Energy attached to this Pokemon. |
Read as written, the « Pressure » Ability (rendering) is a passive effect: it has no « once during your turn » wording, so it applies for as long as Entei is the Active Pokemon. The « Blaze Ball » attack (rendering) starts at 60 and grows with the Energy on Entei, which the Japanese states as このポケモンについているエネルギーの数×20ダメージ追加. That is a statement about how the text is built. It is not a claim about how the card performs against any deck.
The card has no rule box, so it is not a V, ex or GX card, and the Prize-card rule for this card type is on the official rules page. Weakness ×2 (type shown as an icon); Resistance none; retreat cost shown as icons, not stated here.
What a Number Above 190 Means
SV4a has a main set of 190 cards, which is why the regular Entei reads 028/190. A card numbered 213/190 carries a number higher than the set count. On Japanese cards that placement marks a secret-numbered print: it is a card outside the main numbering, and here it is a second print of an Entei that already has its regular card, 028/190, in the set. The official database does not print the rarity letter for it, and this guide does not supply one that the database does not show.
That has a practical consequence for how you describe and search for the card. When a seller, a grading label or a listing says « Entei 213/190 », the number is the reliable part. Any rarity abbreviation next to it comes from the seller or the label, not from the official database.
The illustrator is the second reliable part. Ryuta Fuse is credited on 213/190 and toriyufu on 028/190. If you are comparing a raw card against the database image, compare the artwork first and the number second; the two together name the print. We do not describe the colouring or the finish of the 213/190 in words, because the database page prints neither; the image above is the official reference.
The Same Text in SV3 and SVJL
The Ability and attack on the SV4a pair are not unique to SV4a. The database shows the same text on two more Entei cards, both credited to toriyufu, from earlier and later sets.
| Set and number | Illustrator | HP | Ability and attack | Card ID |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SV3 016/108 | toriyufu | 130 | プレッシャー, ブレイズボール60+ | 43858 |
| SV4a 028/190 | toriyufu | 130 | プレッシャー, ブレイズボール60+ | 44551 |
| SV4a 213/190 | Ryuta Fuse | 130 | プレッシャー, ブレイズボール60+ | 44999 |
| SVJL 005/021 | toriyufu | 130 | プレッシャー, ブレイズボール60+ | 45805 |

Four rows share one rules text, so the 213/190 is the only one of the four with a different illustrator credit. The three toriyufu cards credit the same illustrator and carry identical text; whether their artwork is identical is not established by the credit alone. The SVJL row has a smaller set count, 021, and SV3 has 108. The newest regular Entei in the database, M2a 020/193, has different text again, which our Entei 020/193 guide reads line by line. A checklist of all four regular prints is in Every Regular Entei Print 2023 to 2026.
Where Ryuta Fuse Sits Among the Entei Illustrators
Among the regular, non-V, non-ex Entei rows we have verified in the official database, the Ryuta Fuse credit appears once, on the SV4a 213/190 card. Every other regular Entei row from SM8 onward carries a different credit. The table lists them so that the credit on a card in your hand can be placed quickly.
| Set and number | Illustrator in the database | HP |
|---|---|---|
| SM8 022/095 | kawayoo | 130 |
| SM11a 011/064 | Shin Nagasawa | 130 |
| SD 014/127 | Shin Nagasawa | 130 |
| S5I 009/070 | kodama | 130 |
| SI 055/414 | kodama | 130 |
| SO 008/030 | kodama | 130 |
| S6a 014/069 | NC Empire | 120 |
| S11a 014/068 | Nisota Niso | 120 |
| SV3 016/108, SV4a 028/190, SVJL 005/021 | toriyufu | 130 |
| SV4a 213/190 | Ryuta Fuse | 130 |
| M2a 020/193 | Kazumasa Yasukuni | 140 |
Two patterns show in the table. First, an illustrator can appear on several rows: kodama on three, Shin Nagasawa on two, toriyufu on three. Second, SV4a is the only set in the table that contributes two Entei cards with two different illustrator credits. That is the reason the credit line, and not only the number, is worth reading on this particular card: the pair 028/190 and 213/190 share their rules text and HP completely, and the credit is the field in which they differ.
The table is the regular Entei rows only. The V, ex, GX and older rows have their own entries in the database, and the older Mitsuhiro Arita Entei prints are covered in our other guides linked above. For the full run of Entei entries in the official database, continue with our Entei cards checklist.
S4a Shiny Star V and SV4a Shiny Treasure ex: Two Sets Ending in /190
Two different Japanese sets have a 190-card main set and the word Shiny in their name: S4a, Shiny Star V, and SV4a, Shiny Treasure ex. The set code is the only quick separator. An Entei appears in SV4a, and the database shows no Entei in S4a; the S4a beast in the database is Suicune.
| Set code and name | Beast cards in the database | Numbers | Illustrator |
|---|---|---|---|
| SV4a, Shiny Treasure ex | Entei | 028/190, 213/190 | toriyufu, Ryuta Fuse |
| S4a, Shiny Star V | Suicune | 033/190, 221/190 | so-taro, Kagemaru Himeno |

The Suicune 221/190 is numbered above 190 in the same way as the Entei 213/190, which is why the two are so easily confused in a search. They are different Pokemon from different sets. If your target is the shiny Entei, the set is SV4a; if you have a /190 card that reads No.245 オーロラポケモン, it is the Suicune family and the set is S4a. Our Suicune Japanese cards guide covers that side.

The box above is the S4a set. We list it as a sealed product that is not from the Entei’s set, so that the /190 confusion has a concrete example. We do not currently list a sealed SV4a Shiny Treasure ex box.
S4a graded cards that we list make the same point with their numbers. These listing names carry rarity letters from our catalogue (SSR); the official database does not print them.
| Listing name (as we write it) | Number in S4a | Our price |
|---|---|---|
| PSA10 Ditto VMAX SSR | 324/190 | Offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥14,045 (~$91) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms |
| PSA10 Ditto V SSR | 323/190 | Offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥13,889 (~$90) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms |
| PSA10 Kyogre | 036/190 | Offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥7,850 (~$51) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms |
None of these is an Entei or a Suicune. They show that S4a secret numbers run into the 300s. The two verified beast examples are Entei SV4a 213/190 and Suicune S4a 221/190, so the set code and the Pokemon name settle which set a card belongs to.
Other Entei Cards We List
We do not currently list Entei 028/190 or 213/190. The Entei cards in our catalogue are different cards from different sets, named here by their own listing names so the numbers are not confused with the SV4a pair.
| Listing name (as we write it) | What it is | Our price |
|---|---|---|
| PSA10 Entei [XY 011/171] (Pack Haut de Gamme « The Best of XY ») | Entei XY 011/171, credited to Mitsuhiro Arita in the database | Currently listed at ¥41,088 (~$267) |
| PSA10 Entei V SAR [s12a 213/172] (Pack Haut de Gamme « VSTAR Universe ») | Entei V, S12a 213/172, credited to Shigenori Negishi | Offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥15,525 (~$101) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms |
The second row has the same « 213 » in its number as the SV4a card, but it is an Entei V in a different set with 230 HP; our Entei V PSA 10 guide reads it in full. This is another reason to quote a card as set code plus number: 213/190 and 213/172 are different cards.
How to Tell Which Entei You Hold
| What the card shows | Print it points to |
|---|---|
| SV4a, 213/190, illustrator Ryuta Fuse | The secret-numbered Entei of Shiny Treasure ex |
| SV4a, 028/190, illustrator toriyufu | The regular Entei of Shiny Treasure ex |
| 016/108 or 005/021, illustrator toriyufu | The same text in SV3 or SVJL, different set |
| 213/172, name エンテイV | Entei V in S12a, a different card with 230 HP |
| A /190 card reading No.245 オーロラポケモン | A Suicune from S4a Shiny Star V |
Work in three steps. First read the set code and the number together. Second read the Pokedex line: No.244 かざんポケモン for Entei. Third read the illustrator credit. If the card is numbered above 190 and credits Ryuta Fuse, it is the print this guide is about.
Where This Fits With the Entei Trademark Report
On October 29, 2026 fan sites reported a Japanese trademark filing for 「マグマの鼓動」 (working English translation: Magma Heartbeat; no official English name exists), which collectors read as a possible Entei set; nothing is announced. Our Entei trademark explainer sets out what is confirmed and what is not, and the 2027 trademarks round-up covers the other names.
Where to Buy Entei and Shiny Star V Cards From Japan
We do not list Entei 213/190 or 028/190 as singles. If one of them is the card you want, sourcing requests for a specific card go through Commande rapide.
For other Entei prints we do list, the graded options are the PSA 10 Entei XY 011/171 currently listed at ¥41,088 (~$267) and, as a back order, the Entei V SAR at ¥15,525 (~$101). For the S4a set that shares the /190 denominator, the sealed S4A-Shiny Star V Japanese Pokemon Booster Box is currently listed at ¥21,232 (~$138). The back orders are sourced to order, and each product page shows the current terms. Browse every set page from the card list hub.
Foire aux questions
What is the shiny Entei Pokemon card in Shiny Treasure ex?
Collectors use that phrase for Entei 213/190 in SV4a, credited to Ryuta Fuse in the official Japanese card database. It is a Basic Pokemon with 130 HP, numbered above the set count of 190. The database does not print a rarity letter for it.
How is Entei 213/190 different from 028/190?
Both are SV4a prints with 130 HP and identical Ability and attack text. 028/190 is credited to toriyufu and sits inside the 190-card main numbering; 213/190 is credited to Ryuta Fuse and is numbered above it. They carry different artwork.
What does the Entei Ability プレッシャー do?
Rendered from the printed Japanese, as long as Entei is in the Active Spot, damage from attacks used by your opponent’s Active Pokemon is reduced by 20. The attack ブレイズボール does 60 plus 20 more for each Energy attached to Entei. This reads the printed text and is not a statement about performance.
Is Shiny Treasure ex the same set as Shiny Star V?
No. Shiny Treasure ex is SV4a and has an Entei; Shiny Star V is S4a and has a Suicune among the beasts in the database. Both have a 190-card main set, so the set code is what separates them.
Do you sell Entei 213/190?
We do not currently list it. Sourcing requests for a specific card go through Quick Order at samuraiswordtokyo.com/#quick-order, and each product page shows its current terms.
Which shiny-themed box do you list?
We currently list the S4A-Shiny Star V Japanese Pokemon Booster Box at ¥21,232 (about $138). It is the S4a set, not SV4a, so it does not contain the Entei 213/190.
