Jinbe’s type line reads differently depending on which set you pull him from. Early prints list him as Fish-Man and The Sun Pirates. The Impel Down-era reprint due in OP-17 adds Impel Down to that combination. The second new OP-17 card drops The Sun Pirates entirely and reads Fish-Man, Elbaph, and Straw Hat Crew — new artwork for the character’s current arc. Three type combinations, confirmed across the official card list and the LimitlessTCG card database, and all of them line up with where Jinbe actually was in the story at each point: Sun Pirates captain, temporary Impel Down inmate, and now a full member of the crew.
This guide runs through the seven Jinbe printings covered here, from his first appearance in the ST01 starter deck through his single confirmed Leader card and the two new cards arriving in OP-17 The World’s Strongest Warriors. We source Japanese One Piece Card Game sealed product directly out of Tokyo, and this is a sourcing guide rather than a stock list — we don’t carry standing single-card inventory for Jinbe, so pricing below is limited to the one product we do have a confirmed listing for: the OP-17 booster box itself.
That framing matters for how to use this guide. If you’re chasing a specific Jinbe single — the OP11-021 Leader, the ST01-005 starter card, or anything in between — the fastest path is our Quick Order page, where we source individual cards on request rather than pulling from a public shelf. If you’d rather open packs and see what comes out, sealed OP-17 product is where both new Jinbe cards are printed.
This guide covers seven Jinbe printings, including one Leader card (OP11-021) and two brand-new OP-17 cards — OP17-051 and OP17-083 — both arriving with his current Elbaph-arc typing. OP-17 The World’s Strongest Warriors releases in Japan on August 22, 2026, and the OP-17 booster box is currently listed at ¥28,000, pre-order, shipping on or after August 24.
Card data is drawn from the official OP card list and the LimitlessTCG card database; card pages were checked directly, though the two new OP-17 image URLs aren’t live on the official server yet (see the callout below). This is a sourcing guide, not a stock list — we don’t hold standing single-card inventory for Jinbe, so no per-card pricing is shown below. The one price referenced throughout is our own listed price for the OP-17 booster box.
Every Jinbe Card at a Glance

Our review found one Leader card and no confirmed Secret Rare or Manga Parallel printing for Jinbe. If you come across a listing advertising either of those for him, treat it as unverified against the official card list we checked.
The sections below go through each printing in order, then cover the two new OP-17 cards in detail.
The Leader: OP11-021
Jinbe’s only confirmed Leader card comes from OP11 A Fist of Divine Speed, illustrated by Midori Matsuda. It’s a Green Leader with 5000 power and 5 Life, and its End of Your Turn ability activates one Fish-Man or Merfolk-type Character plus one DON!! card, as long as your hand is six cards or fewer at that point. It also has a confirmed Alt Art parallel, shown above alongside the standard version.
Because it’s the only Leader card confirmed for the character, OP11-021 is the reference point for any Jinbe-led deck — there’s no second Leader printing to compare it against, unlike some other cast members who get reprinted as Leader across multiple sets.
Early Prints: ST01-005 and OP01-014
ST01-005 is Jinbe’s first printing, a Common Character card from ST01 Straw Hat Crew, the game’s original starter deck. Its effect pairs a DON!!x1 cost with a When Attacking trigger that gives another Leader or Character on your side +1000 power. It’s been reprinted more than once since — it appears again in the Premium Card Collection -25th Edition- and in Gift Collection 2023, though our review didn’t confirm which of those reprints any specific listing on the secondary market corresponds to.
OP01-014 is an Uncommon from OP01 Romance Dawn, the game’s first mainline booster set. It combines Blocker with an On Block ability that can deploy a Red Character of cost 2 or under. This printing was also reprinted in the FILM RED Edition premium collection.
Rework and Rush: OP05-066 and OP12-009
OP05-066, from OP05 Awakening of the New Era, is a Purple Common Blocker with a conditional power boost — once ten DON!! cards are in play, it gains +1000 power on the opponent’s turn. Illustration is credited to nukadokomogera. This card has also been reprinted in the ST18 and ST26 Luffy starter decks.
OP12-009, from OP12 Legacy of the Master, is a Red Rare with a Rush-granting effect: reveal two Event cards from your hand to give this card Rush for the turn it’s played. Its type line reads Fish-Man/The Sun Pirates, tying it to Jinbe’s pre-crew era as Sun Pirates captain. Illustration is credited to Aidle Co. Ltd.
Why Jinbe’s Type Line Keeps Changing
Type lines on One Piece Card Game cards aren’t cosmetic — they gate which support cards and Leader abilities a Character can trigger, and Jinbe’s type history across these seven printings tracks his story arc more closely than his rarity or set does. OP12-009 reads Fish-Man/The Sun Pirates, anchoring it to the era before he joined the Straw Hats, when he still captained his own crew. OP17-051 keeps Fish-Man but swaps in Impel Down, reflecting his time as a prisoner there rather than a captain. OP17-083 drops The Sun Pirates entirely and adds Elbaph and Straw Hat Crew — the type combination for where the character actually stands today, post-timeskip and fully part of the crew.
For deckbuilders, that means a Jinbe-focused deck built around Sun Pirates synergy won’t necessarily benefit from the same support cards as one built around Straw Hat Crew synergy, even though both cards share the same character name and face art style. For collectors, it’s a straightforward way to date a Jinbe card at a glance once you know what to look for on the type line, without needing to check the set code first.
New for OP-17: OP17-051 and OP17-083
OP-17 The World’s Strongest Warriors, releasing in Japan on August 22, 2026, adds two new Jinbe cards — and between them, they track his most recent story arcs.
OP17-051 is a Blue Common with a +2000 counter value. Its type line is Fish-Man/Impel Down/The Sun Pirates, placing it in the Impel Down arc of the story rather than his current crew era. Illustration is credited to Moopic.
OP17-083 is a Black Common that gains Blocker and +3000 power whenever a Character with cost 12 or higher is on the field. Its type line drops The Sun Pirates and reads Fish-Man/Elbaph/Straw Hat Crew — new artwork built around the Elbaph arc, illustrated by Katsuo Tadano.
Both OP17-051 and OP17-083 are still pre-release as of this guide, so the official card-image server hasn’t published art for either code yet. We’ll add images once the set is live and the official card list reflects them.
Both new cards ship inside the same product — there’s no separate allocation by character, and OP-17 is currently available to pre-order ahead of its Japan release.
