The card’s single attack, per PokeBeach’s September 9, 2026 translation of the official database entry:
- [L][L][L] Pika Chain — 40× damage. This attack does 40 damage for each of your Pikachu and Pikachu ex in play.
Weakness is Fighting (×2), there’s no listed Resistance, and retreat cost is 2 Energy. Pika Chain is a three-Lightning-Energy attack that scales with how many Pikachu and Pikachu ex you’re fielding at once — a build-around attack rather than a straightforward basic attacker, distinct from Ken Sugimori’s single flat-damage Thunder Shock on 017/103.
USGMEN, the Illustrator
USGMEN is credited as the illustrator of 028/103 in the official card database. Per Bulbapedia’s illustrator page (fetched September 16, 2026), USGMEN’s Japanese name is rendered うさぎメン (Usagi-men), and the page describes USGMEN as a Japanese freelance artist. The illustrator’s first official Pokémon TCG card was Mew ex from the Paldean Fates expansion (Paldean Fates 232), and Bulbapedia credits USGMEN with 6 cards for the TCG so far, plus 9 cards appearing in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.
Bulbapedia also notes that in 2024 USGMEN was a key animator on the Pokémon Day 2024 video POKÉDANCE, designing the character dancing with the Hoenn first partner Pokémon, and that USGMEN frequently posts animated Pokémon fan art on social media. Every pack of 30th CELEBRATION carries six foil cards for ¥360, including one of the 30 Pikachu and one YOSHIROTTEN Basic Energy card; a 20-pack box is ¥7,200 tax-in MSRP. PokeBeach reported, from an official box opening shown before release, that one 20-pack box contained 20 of the 30 Pikachu (no duplicates), 2 Classic Collection cards, 4 AR, 1 SAR and 1 FUR — one opening, not a published rate. The Pokémon Company has not published pull rates for this set.
On SNKRDUNK, the lowest asking price for a sealed M6a box went from ¥47,200 on September 1 to ¥28,200 on September 10 and ¥17,500 on release day, September 16, 2026 — still about 2.4× the ¥7,200 MSRP. Among singles, Ken Sugimori’s 017/103 has a release-day ask of ¥1,000 (15 listings) on SNKRDUNK, the only dated marketplace figure among the 30 Pikachu in this update.
