OP-16 Release Date: Japan May 30, 2026, English Version June 12

The OP-16 release date in Japan was May 30, 2026 (a Saturday) for the Japanese edition of ONE PIECE CARD GAME BOOSTER PACK “The Time of Battle” [OP-16], according to Bandai’s Japanese product page. The English edition page lists a later date, June 12, 2026.

Updated November 6, 2026

Key facts: what is OP-16 and when did it come out?

OP-16 is the booster set named ブースターパック 決戦の刻 in Japanese and BOOSTER PACK -THE TIME OF BATTLE- in English, and the table below gives the exact details with the official page behind each one. This article is about the Japanese edition unless a row says otherwise.

If you want the Japanese box itself, our OP-16 The Time of Battle Japanese One Piece Booster Box page is the listing that carries the 24-pack box. The rest of this guide explains the date differences between the official pages, what those pages say is inside, what the Japanese page lists around release, and how shipping and payment work for overseas orders.

What is the OP-16 release date in Japan and overseas?

The OP-16 release date is May 30, 2026 in Japan and on the Asia-English page, and June 12, 2026 on the English/US page. Those are the three official product pages, and each one states its own date.

The Japanese page at onepiece-cardgame.com lists the release date as May 30, 2026 and marks it as a Saturday. The Asia-English page gives the same calendar date, May 30, 2026. The English/US page lists June 12, 2026, which is 13 days after the Japanese date.

Japanese page ブースターパック 決戦の刻【OP-16】 May 30, 2026 (Saturday) 220 yen, tax included (manufacturer’s suggested retail price)
Asia-English page BOOSTER PACK -THE TIME OF BATTLE- [OP-16] May 30, 2026 Not stated in the page data we use
English/US page BOOSTER PACK -THE TIME OF BATTLE- [OP-16] June 12, 2026 USD $4.99 per pack (MSRP)

Because May 30, 2026 is already in the past, OP-16 is a released set. Each official page states the date for its own edition, so read the date from the page that matches the edition you are buying.

Why do the official pages show different OP-16 release dates?

The official pages do not say why the English/US page lists June 12, 2026 while the Japanese and Asia-English pages list May 30, 2026. The sources we use give no reason for the gap, and we will not guess one.

What the pages do say is useful. The English/US page includes this statement about play: “Cards included in this product will be tournament legal starting 7 days after the release date in your region.” It also says: “Cards included in this product are legal from the pre-release date in your LGS.” Both lines are about the English product and the date in your own region. They do not tell you anything about when the Japanese cards are legal in a store that follows English-edition rules, so check with your local game store if you plan to play with Japanese cards.

The three pages also differ in smaller ways, which matters if you compare them line by line:

  • The Japanese page lists six new leaders, including OP16-060 Sengoku. The English/US page lists five new leaders and does not list OP16-060 Sengoku in its New Leaders line.
  • The Japanese page gives the pack price as 220 yen including tax. The English/US page gives USD $4.99 per pack.
  • The English/US page states that the pack configuration (carte per pack) is not given on that page. The Japanese and Asia-English pages both state 6 carte per pack.
  • The Japanese page also carries notes about a Premium Bandai lottery and release events in Japan; the English/US page carries the tournament legality notes.

All three pages agree on the total: 126+1 card types. The Asia-English and English/US pages also carry the note that, because of the nature of the product, multiples of one card may appear, or it may be difficult to assemble a full set.

What does an OP-16 booster box contain?

A Japanese OP-16 booster box contains 24 booster packs with 6 carte per pack, and the set has 126 card types plus 1 DON!! card. The box detail comes from our product page; the pack and set numbers come from Bandai’s page.

The packs are randomly packed. Our product page says the same in its own words: this is a sealed, randomized product, and the specific cards in each box are packed at random at the factory, so it does not promise any individual card pull. The contents of any single box cannot be known from the outside, and we do not give any odds, because the official pages do not publish them.

The official rarity breakdown is below. The Japanese and Asia-English pages give the same counts.

Rarity group Types in OP-16
Special cards 6
Treasure Rare 1
Leader cards 6
Secret Rare 2
Super Rare 10
Rare 26
Uncommon 30
Common 45
DON!! card 1

Adding the first eight rows gives 126, which matches the “126 types” figure. The DON!! card is the “plus 1.” The 127 total is the “126+1” you see on every official page. These counts describe card types, not how many copies of each type appear in a box.

Our box page also states the theme: OP-16 is themed around the Marineford / Paramount War era. It names Portgas D. Ace, Marshall D. Teach, the Admirals and Marineford-era leaders as the main early collector watch points. That is the shop’s description, not an official Bandai statement, and it is not a prediction about value.

Which leaders and key cards were announced for OP-16?

Bandai announced six new leaders for the Japanese OP-16, led by OP16-001 Portgas D. Ace, plus two Secret Rares and three Super Parallel Admirals. All of this is on the Japanese product page.

Card number Name Role listed on the official page
OP16-001 Portgas D. Ace New leader
OP16-022 Monkey D. Luffy New leader
OP16-041 Buggy New leader
OP16-060 Sengoku New leader (Japanese and Asia-English pages)
OP16-079 Yamato New leader
OP16-080 Marshall D. Teach New leader
OP16-003 Edward Newgate In evidenza
OP16-015 Monkey D. Luffy In evidenza
OP16-048 Buggy In evidenza
OP16-032 Boa Hancock In evidenza
OP16-118 Portgas D. Ace SEC (Secret Rare)

OP16-073 Borsalino Super Parallel (Three Great Admirals)
OP16-065 Sakazuki Super Parallel (Three Great Admirals)
OP16-063 Kuzan Super Parallel (Three Great Admirals)

Note the two naming styles. The Japanese page writes “Portgas D. Ace” while the English pages write “Portgas.D.Ace” and call the three admiral cards “Super Alt-Art.” The cards are the same numbers. The English/US page puts the three admirals in its Featured line rather than under a separate parallel heading.

What launch events and lottery does the Japanese OP-16 page list?

Bandai’s Japanese page lists release-commemoration events held across Japan and a Premium Bandai lottery sale with applications from June 25, 2026 to July 2, 2026. The details we can state come only from that page.

Articolo What the official page says
Release date May 30, 2026 (Saturday)
Premium Bandai lottery sale Applications from June 25, 2026 (Thu) to July 2, 2026 (Thu)
Events Release-commemoration events held across Japan
Product images and specs Product images may differ from the actual product, and specifications may change

The page lists the lottery application window as June 25 to July 2, 2026, and it does not describe how the lottery relates to the main release. It does not give prices for the lottery sale, the number of events, or the event locations, so we do not either. For the regular booster pack, the manufacturer’s suggested retail price is 220 yen per pack, tax included, on the same page.

If you are wondering whether there was a pre-order stage, the sources we use do not describe one. What they do describe is a release date, a price per pack, and the events and lottery above. We do not report retailer lotteries or allocation sizes, because none of our sources state them.

How does the Japanese edition differ from the English edition?

The Japanese edition has the earlier release date (May 30, 2026 versus June 12, 2026), a yen price per pack, and a six-leader announcement, while the English/US page shows a dollar price and lists five new leaders. Those are the differences the official pages themselves show.

The OP-16 listings on our pages are all Japanese edition. If you need cards for an English-edition event, the English/US page is the one to read for its rules. Our OP-16 booster box buying guide covers the purchase side in more detail.

Can overseas buyers still get the OP-16 Japanese box from Tokyo?

Our product pages list the Japanese OP-16 box and related items for shipping from Tokyo by FedEx, and availability is shown on each page and confirmed at checkout. We do not state stock levels in this article, because they change.

Four OP-16 product pages exist on our shop:

Prodotto What it is, per the page
OP-16 The Time of Battle Japanese One Piece Booster Box Sealed Japanese booster box; 24 packs, 6 carte per pack; ships from Tokyo by FedEx with tracking and insurance
Damaged Box Unopened booster box with cosmetic damage to the outer box and its wrapping; cards inside unaffected; sold as-is
Cartone One full carton (case) of 12 booster boxes, shipped as the carton itself
Damaged Carton One carton of 12 booster boxes with cosmetic damage to the outer packaging; sold as-is
OP-16 The Time of Battle Japanese One Piece Booster Box - Carton
The carton listing: one carton (case) of 12 Japanese OP-16 booster boxes, shipped as the carton itself.

The carton page states that the purchase unit is 1 carton (case), that the contents are 12 booster boxes of OP-16 The Time of Battle in the Japanese language edition, and that it ships from Tokyo by FedEx with a tracking number. Twelve boxes at 24 packs each is 288 packs, by simple multiplication of the numbers on our pages.

What is the difference between a regular box and a damaged box?

A damaged box is an unopened OP-16 box with cosmetic damage to its outer box and wrapping, while the regular box is the standard listing. Per our damaged box page, the cards inside are unaffected, but the box is sold as-is.

The damaged listing explains the terms plainly. Dents, creases, scuffs and similar marks vary by item. The first photo shows the regular product for identification, and the photos that follow are samples of damage on other products, so they do not show the item you will receive. The page states that this item is sold as-is, that inquiries about it are not answered, and that returns and refunds are not accepted. Read that before you add it to a cart.

The page also explains why such boxes exist: the Tokyo warehouse buys large volumes of Japanese trading cards daily, staff inspect every item against defined condition standards, and boxes that cannot be sold as mint condition are separated from regular stock and offered at a lower price than regular products.

For a side-by-side explanation, read our OP-16 regular box vs damaged box guide. If you care about the box as a collectible object, choose the regular listing. If you care only about the cards inside, the damaged listing describes them as unaffected.

How long does shipping take, and how do I pay?

FedEx transit usually takes 3-7 business days on standard shipping and 2-5 business days on expedited, after dispatch, and payment is in Japanese yen. Both transit times are estimates only and are not delivery dates, according to our shipping policy.

Opzione Service Estimated FedEx transit after dispatch Cost
Standard shipping FedEx International Connect Plus (with tracking number) Usually 3-7 business days Calculated at checkout from your delivery address
Expedited shipping FedEx International Priority (with tracking number) Usually 2-5 business days Calculated at checkout from your delivery address

Transit time starts after dispatch. Handling is separate: most orders are processed and shipped within 5 business days after PayPal or Wise payment has cleared. That too is an estimate only, and business days exclude weekends and Japanese national holidays. The policy adds that stock levels for sealed Japanese trading card products fluctuate frequently, so dispatch can take longer in some cases. If dispatch is delayed, we contact you by email with a revised estimate, and for significant delays before handoff to FedEx we may offer the option to wait or to cancel with a full refund.

A few more points from the shipping policy that affect an OP-16 order:

  • There is no minimum order amount or quantity.
  • After handoff to FedEx, delivery timing is controlled by the carrier and destination-country authorities. Customs inspections, import procedures, remote-area handling, peak season congestion and weather may delay delivery.
  • FedEx cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes, so give a physical address at checkout.
  • While an order is paid and its shipment has not yet been scheduled, you can update the shipping address yourself from My Account > Orders. The destination country cannot be changed.

Payment details come from the payment methods page:

Method Key points
Wise (bank transfer) No payment processing fee. Without a screenshot, the order is cancelled automatically if payment is not received within 12 hours (3 hours if the order contains a pre-order item). With a screenshot, upload within 5 days; the order price is held for 10 days in total. SWIFT payments incur a receiving fee of JPY 611.
PayPal Completed immediately at checkout; the 5% payment processing fee applies.
Credit and debit cards (through PayPal) Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB; which of these is offered is decided by PayPal. The 5% fee applies.
PayPal Pay Later Offered and operated by PayPal, not by us; availability is decided by PayPal and varies by country.

All payments are made in Japanese yen. Any difference between what we charge and what your statement shows, from exchange rates or conversion fees, is decided by your payment provider or bank.

How do I check which OP-16 release date applies to my purchase?

Check which edition you are buying, because the date follows the edition: the Japanese edition page lists May 30, 2026, and the English/US page lists June 12, 2026. Our OP-16 listings are all Japanese edition.

A short checklist keeps you from mixing the pages up:

  1. Look at the product name. The Japanese name is ブースターパック 決戦の刻【OP-16】. Our listings say “Japanese” in the title.
  2. Look at the unit. One booster box is 24 packs of 6 cards. A carton is 12 booster boxes.
  3. Look at the condition. Regular listings and Damaged listings are separate pages with separate terms.
  4. Look at the shipping page. Transit time is an estimate and starts after dispatch; handling is counted separately.

If you want to know which cards drive interest in the set, our OP-16 chase cards guide covers that angle. We do not put pull-rate numbers in this article, because the official pages publish none.
