A Mega Gengar ex PSA 10 in Japanese is one of three cards the official database lists under メガゲンガーex: the SAR 240/193 credited to danciao, the MA 230/193 credited to Taiga Kasai, both from MEGA Dream ex (M2a), and the starter-deck card 003/021 credited to 5ban Graphics. All three are Stage 2 Darkness-type cards with 350 HP.
The official Pokémon Card Game database on pokemon-card.com, as printed on October 7, 2026, lists those three rows, and Limitless TCG, as of the same date, pairs the M2a cards with the English Ascended Heroes set. The XY-era M Gengar-EX cards use a different card name and are separate cards.
We sell Japanese sealed product and graded singles from Tokyo. USD figures convert at ¥154/USD, approximate.

Every Japanese Mega Gengar ex Print and Our Listing
Three rows carry the name メガゲンガーex, as printed on October 7, 2026. The next table puts each beside our listing and the lowest asks on SNKRDUNK on the same date. The SNKRDUNK figures are asking prices, not sales.

A ranked comparison of Gengar cards, from the VMAX alternate art to this Mega card, is in Top Gengar Cards Ranked: VMAX Alt Art to MEGA Gengar ex; the three Mega Gengar ex prints are covered below.
MEGA Dream ex (M2a): The SAR 240/193 and the MA 230/193
MEGA Dream ex is a high-class pack. Bulbapedia (as of September 15, 2026) dates it to 2025-11-28 with 193 cards in the main set; the official product page gives ¥550 for a 10-card pack. Ascended Heroes is its English equivalent. The cards of the set are on our MEGA Dream ex (M2a) card list.
Mega Gengar ex SAR 240/193 (M2a)
The SAR is credited to danciao. Our slab is currently listed at ¥69,694 (~$453). Our listing name carries no set code; 240/193 SAR resolves to M2a only, among the three rows.
Mega Gengar ex MA 230/193 (M2a)
The MA is credited to Taiga Kasai, a different credit from the SAR. It is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥8,208 (~$53) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms.
The MA 230/193 foil-error product on SNKRDUNK
SNKRDUNK lists the MA 230/193 as two products. One is the plain MA; the other is titled メガゲンガーex MA :中国語箔押しエラー, which reads as a Chinese-language foil-stamp error. It carries a higher raw ask and a higher lowest PSA 10 ask than the plain product, as the price table below shows. The official database lists one row for 230/193 and does not describe an error, so the variant is a marketplace product title and is not verified by the database. We do not list it as a separate product.
The Starter-Deck Card: MBG 003/021
The 003/021 comes from スターターセットMEGA メガゲンガーex, a 60-card deck. The official page for it gives the release date as 2025-09-05 and the price as ¥1,800 including tax; the number of cards in the set is not stated there. The database row, id 48264, is the only one printing 003/021 for メガゲンガーex.
The card is credited to 5ban Graphics and shows no rarity mark in the database. Our slab is currently listed at ¥5,289 (~$34) (업데이트: 현재 품절 — Quick Order로 재입고 요청), and the same print is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥5,749 (~$37). Our PSA 10 back order for the Haunter from the same product, MBG 022/021, is offered at ¥9,375 (~$61); it is a different card.
English Counterparts: Phantasmal Flames, Ascended Heroes and Mega Promos
Limitless TCG, as of October 7, 2026, groups five English Mega Gengar ex cards with the Japanese prints by card text. The grouping is a text match, not an artwork statement. Limitless dates Phantasmal Flames to November 14, 2025 (130 cards) and Ascended Heroes to January 30, 2026 (295 cards).
| English card (Limitless) | Illustrator | Limitless rarity label | Japanese print with the same credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ascended Heroes #284 | danciao | Special Art Rare | M2a 240/193 SAR |
| Ascended Heroes #269 | Taiga Kasai | Ultra Rare | M2a 230/193 MA |
| Ascended Heroes #125 | 5ban Graphics | Double Rare | MBG 003/021 |
| Phantasmal Flames #56 | 5ban Graphics | Double Rare | MBG 003/021 |
| Mega Promos (MEP) #73 | Ultimateinudog | Not stated | None |
Two things follow from the table. The English Special Art Rare shares the credit of the Japanese SAR, and the English Ultra Rare shares the credit of the Japanese MA. For the starter-deck card, two English Double Rare cards share its credit, and which of them matches its artwork is not verified. Whether any English card shows the same artwork as its Japanese match is not stated, because Limitless groups cards by text and credit, not by image.

Other Gengar Cards That Are Different Cards
The database lists two XY-era cards under the name M Gengar-EX (the Mega mark followed by ゲンガーEX), not メガゲンガーex. They are older, separate cards, both credited to 5ban Graphics.
| Database row | Product line (as printed) |
|---|---|
The CP4 049/131, M Gengar EX [CP4 049/131] (Premium Champion Pack “EX x M x BREAK”), is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥68,999 (~$448). Other Gengar back orders carry other numbers and are named in our listings as follows: M Gengar EX P [XY-P 079] (White Mega Gengar campaign) at ¥154,100 (~$1,001), and Gengar EX [MMB 010/049] (Mega Master Deck Build Box “Power Style”) at ¥52,900 (~$344). Neither is a Mega Gengar ex.
