Search for “Eevee & Snorlax GX Special Art” and you’ll find people asking for a card number inside SM9 that doesn’t exist. That’s the single most useful thing to know before you shop this card: the chase print was never numbered into the set at all.
Eevee & Snorlax GX (イーブイ&カビゴンGX) debuted in Japan’s SM9 タッグボルト / Tag Bolt (December 7, 2018), the same booster set that launched the whole TAG TEAM Pokemon-GX mechanic — two Pokemon on one card, a bigger HP pool, and three Prize cards for the opponent on a knockout. Eight confirmed printings exist across Japanese and English releases, but the illustration collectors actually chase — a one-off scene by guest artist Tomokazu Komiya — only ever shipped as a promo, never as an in-set secret-rare number.
This guide tables every confirmed printing of Eevee & Snorlax GX, explains exactly why the Special Art has no SM9 number, and prices our own promo-print PSA 10 listing against the wider snkrdunk asking market. We ship Japanese Tag Bolt singles out of Tokyo, so the pricing below reflects what we’re actually working with.
Eevee & Snorlax GX’s Special Art was never printed inside Tag Bolt (SM9) — it exists only as a promo: JP SM-P 297 (given to customers who bought a Tag Bolt booster box at participating Pokemon Card Gym stores in December 2018) and EN SM169 (2019 TAG TEAM Tins), both illustrated by Tomokazu Komiya. We currently list a PSA 10 of the JP promo at ¥92,699 (~$631), above snkrdunk’s raw A-condition asking range of ¥48,000–¥50,000.
Prices are ¥ figures as of August 2026, converted at ¥147/USD. Our own figures are current or recent listings from our Tokyo inventory. Secondary-market figures are snkrdunk asking-price listings, not confirmed sale prices — see the market section below for which ranges are usable.
Every Eevee & Snorlax GX Printing and What It’s Worth
Per Bulbapedia’s card page and pkmncards’ promo confirmation, eight printings of Eevee & Snorlax GX are confirmed across Japanese and English releases:

| 2 | Eevee & Snorlax-GX SM169 (Promo, Special Full Art, Komiya) | TAG TEAM Tins (ENG) | 2019 | not in our catalog |
| 3 | Eevee & Snorlax GX 115/095 HR (Rainbow) | Tag Bolt (SM9, JPN) | 2018 | not currently in our catalog |

| 7 | Eevee & Snorlax-GX 120/181 (Rare Holo GX) | Team Up (TEU, ENG) | 2019 | not in our catalog |
| 8 | Eevee & Snorlax GX 066/095 (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) RR | Tag Bolt (SM9, JPN) | 2018 | recently listed at ¥18,252 (~$124) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) |
The two rows that matter most for anyone shopping this card are the top and bottom of the list: the promo-only Komiya Special Art at the top, and the everyday base-rarity RR at the bottom — the copy you’d actually pull opening Tag Bolt packs. Everything in between is a standard-template secret-rarity print (5ban Graphics full art or rainbow foil) in either language, none of which we currently list graded copies of.
For the broader Tag Team GX era this card belongs to, see our best Tag Team GX cards guide, and for two other cards from the same December 2018 wave, our Magikarp & Wailord GX card guide and Umbreon & Darkrai GX card guide cover comparable printings and pricing.
Why There’s No In-Set SM9 Special Art
Most Tag Bolt TAG TEAM GX cards follow the same secret-tier pattern: a base RR, a standard 5ban Graphics full art, a rainbow foil, and — for the cards that get one — a Special Art numbered somewhere above the set’s printed 95-card total, credited to a guest illustrator instead of 5ban’s in-house team. Magikarp & Wailord GX got that treatment at 099/095. Eevee & Snorlax GX did not.
Per Bulbapedia’s card page, there is no Special Art numbered inside SM9 for this card. The Komiya-illustrated scene exists only as a standalone promo: JP SM-P 297 and, in English, SM169. If a listing shows this artwork with a Tag Bolt set number attached, that number is wrong — the card itself is genuine, but it’s a promo, not a secret-tier SM9 print.
Genuine Tag Bolt secret-tier prints of this card top out at 115/095 (the Rainbow). If a listing shows the Komiya scene artwork with any x/095 number attached, that’s a mislabeled promo, not an SM9 secret rare.
The Chase Card: Promo SM-P 297 by Tomokazu Komiya

Per Bulbapedia, SM-P 297 was given to customers who purchased a booster box of Tag Bolt upon its release at participating Pokemon Card Gym venues in December 2018 — a JP box-purchase promo (タッグボルト発売時・ポケモンカードジム参加店舗BOX購入特典), not a booster-pull secret rare. That distribution route is the reason it’s numbered as an SM-P promo rather than slotted into the Tag Bolt secret tier alongside the RR, SR, and HR.
The artwork itself is a Special Full Art commissioned scene by guest illustrator Tomokazu Komiya, in the same one-artist-per-card tradition as the era’s other Tag Team GX Special Arts — OOYAMA on Magikarp & Wailord GX, so-taro on Umbreon & Darkrai GX, Hasuno on Espeon & Deoxys GX. Each of those exists in exactly one JP printing, and this one is no exception: it never got a second Japanese print run.
We currently list a PSA 10 copy of SM-P 297 at ¥92,699 (~$631) — the anchor figure for this guide, and well above the snkrdunk raw asking range discussed below. The card number to look for on your own copy is 297/SM-P printed at the bottom edge, distinct from any x/095 Tag Bolt number.
The Rest of the Tag Bolt Lineup: RR, SR, HR
Tag Bolt itself packs three more printings of this card into its secret tier, numbered above the set’s 95-card total, plus the everyday base pull:

The base-rarity RR 066/095 is the copy most people pull first — standard holofoil frame, Mitsuhiro Arita art. It’s recently listed in our catalog at ¥18,252 (~$124) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) as a PSA 10; it’s currently out of stock, and restock requests can be submitted via 빠른 주문.

The 106/095 SR Full Art and the 115/095 HR Rainbow round out the Tag Bolt secret-slot run, both in 5ban Graphics’ standard studio templates rather than a commissioned scene — the same production tier as the FA and HR on every other card in this set. Neither is currently in our catalog, and we don’t have a usable multi-listing snkrdunk range for either at the time of this check.
Between the four Tag Bolt printings, the numbering tells the story on its own: 066 is the base card inside the 95-card set, and 106 and 115 are secret-slot cards numbered well above the printed total — a standard convention for Japanese chase cards. If your copy’s number sits above 095, you’re holding one of the two premium in-set versions rather than the standard pull; if it reads SM-P 297, you have the promo instead.
English Availability: Team Up and the SM169 Tin Promo
Team Up (TEU, SM9’s English release) came out February 1, 2019, and printed this card three times in-set, plus once more as a standalone promo:
| Set / Product | Number | Rarity | Artist | Year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Team Up | 120/181 | Rare Holo GX | Mitsuhiro Arita | 2019 |
| Team Up | 171/181 | Rare Ultra (Full Art) | 5ban Graphics | 2019 |
| Team Up | 191/181 | Rare Rainbow | 5ban Graphics | 2019 |
| TAG TEAM Tins promo | SM169 | Promo (Special Full Art) | Tomokazu Komiya | 2019 |
Unlike Magikarp & Wailord GX, English collectors do get a regular in-set print here — 120/181 is the standard Rare Holo GX, matching the JP base RR. The Komiya Special Art reached English collectors as SM169, released through the 2019 TAG TEAM Tins (per pkmncards, dated 2019-03-01) rather than a booster box. The exact tin lineup beyond this card is unconfirmed in our sources, so we won’t speculate on what else came inside.
No copy is currently listed in our catalog for English singles for this card, so no dollar figures are quoted for any of the four Team Up / SM169 rows above — the Japanese promo and base RR remain the two printings we handle directly. Team Up’s February 1, 2019 release date sits almost two months after Tag Bolt’s December 7, 2018 debut, the same gap that shows up across the whole Tag Bolt / Team Up generation.
Secondary-Market Asking Prices
We checked snkrdunk’s marketplace as of August 2026 for independent context on the promo. These are asking-price listings, not confirmed sales, so we’re only printing the one range that cleared our usable-anchor bar (two or more listings):
- SM-P 297 promo, raw (A condition): two listings at ¥48,000 and ¥50,000 (~$327–$340) — a usable asking-price range.
Our own PSA 10 listing at ¥92,699 (~$631) sits well above that raw range: the raw figures reflect ungraded A-condition asks, not PSA 10 asks, and the two figures aren’t directly comparable for that reason.
We did not find a usable multi-listing asking-price range on snkrdunk for the RR 066/095, the SR 106/095, the HR 115/095, or any of the Team Up English printings — single-listing asks turned up for some of these tiers, but per our own rule for treating snkrdunk data, a single listing is a weak anchor and isn’t printed here as market data. Our own catalog prices for the promo and the RR above are the only pricing given for those two tiers in this guide.
Not to Be Confused With: The Eevee Heroes Era
“Eevee” search traffic pulls in a lot of unrelated territory, and the biggest one to watch for is Eevee Heroes (S6a) — a separate, later Japanese high-class set built entirely around Eeveelution alt-art chase cards, distinct from the 2018 Tag Bolt release covered on this page. If Eeveelution alt arts and pull rates from that set are what you’re actually after, our Eevee Heroes card list & pull rates, S6a Eevee Heroes pull rates & best cards, Eevee Heroes box guide, Eevee Heroes eeveelutions set guide, and Eevee Heroes vs Pokemon 151 box guide cover that set directly.
If you’re tracking Eevee across every era rather than one specific set, our best Eevee cards guide is the wider hub, and the Snorlax half of this pairing has its own Snorlax cards guide.
Which Eevee & Snorlax GX Fits Your Budget
Working from the catalog and market figures above:
- Under $150 — the base RR 066/095, recently listed at ¥18,252 (~$124) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) as a PSA 10. Currently out of stock; restock requests go through 빠른 주문.
- ~$327–$340 — a raw (ungraded, A-condition) SM-P 297 promo, per snkrdunk’s two-listing asking range.
- $631 — our PSA 10 SM-P 297 promo, currently listed at ¥92,699 — the only graded promo pricing point in this guide, and the closest thing to a market anchor for the top-grade Komiya print.
Confirm the card carries SM-P 297 (JP) or SM169 (EN) rather than any x/095 or x/181 set number before treating it as the Special Art, and remember the snkrdunk raw range above is an asking-price spread, not a confirmed-sale price.

자주 묻는 질문
What is the rarest Eevee & Snorlax GX printing?
The promo Special Art, illustrated by Tomokazu Komiya — JP SM-P 297 (given to customers who bought a Tag Bolt booster box at participating Pokemon Card Gym stores in December 2018) or its EN counterpart SM169 (2019 TAG TEAM Tins). We currently list a PSA 10 of the JP promo at ¥92,699 (about $631).
Is there a Special Art numbered inside SM9 Tag Bolt?
No. Per Bulbapedia’s card page, there is no Special Art numbered inside SM9 for this card — the Komiya artwork exists only as the standalone promo SM-P 297 (JP) or SM169 (EN). Genuine Tag Bolt secret-tier prints top out at 115/095, the Rainbow.
How many versions of Eevee & Snorlax GX are there?
Eight confirmed printings: four Japanese (Tag Bolt RR 066/095, SR full art 106/095, HR Rainbow 115/095, and the SM-P 297 promo) and four English (Team Up Rare Holo GX 120/181, full art 171/181, Rainbow 191/181, and the SM169 promo from the TAG TEAM Tins).
What’s the difference between the JP SM-P 297 and EN SM169 promos?
Same Tomokazu Komiya Special Art artwork, different distribution. SM-P 297 was a JP box-purchase promo given to Tag Bolt booster box buyers at participating Pokemon Card Gym stores in December 2018. SM169 reached English collectors through the 2019 TAG TEAM Tins instead.
How much is the base-rarity Eevee & Snorlax GX worth?
The RR 066/095 from Tag Bolt is recently listed in our catalog at ¥18,252 (about $124) as a PSA 10, currently out of stock. Restock requests can be submitted via Quick Order.
