The database’s Pokédex panel reads (verbatim JP): 「No.790 げんしせいポケモン / 高さ：0.1 m 重さ：999.9 kg / 光を 吸いながら 成長を 続けている。 金色の カラは 驚くほどに 頑丈。」 — our rendering: National Pokédex No. 790, the Protostar Pokémon, height 0.1 m, weight 999.9 kg; it continues to grow while absorbing light, and its golden shell is surprisingly sturdy. The card prints 0.1 m and 999.9 kg.
The Attack Line, Word for Word
Cosmoem’s one attack is [Colorless] “Star Protection” (our rendering of ほしのまもり), which reads verbatim: 「コインを1回投げオモテなら、次の相手の番、このポケモンはワザのダメージを受けない。」 — our rendering: flip a coin, and if heads, during your opponent’s next turn this Pokémon takes no damage from attacks. That’s the entire attack line printed on this card — word for word the same text as Cosmog’s own Star Protection.
What changes between the two cards is everything around that shared attack: Cosmoem’s HP rises from Cosmog’s 60 to 90, and its retreat cost rises from a single Colorless energy to three. The Weakness (Darkness ×2) and the Resistance (Fighting −30) are the same on both.
Neither card’s version of Star Protection prints a damage figure, and neither has a second attack. The printed offence in this line arrives only at Stage 2, with Solgaleo’s Solar Gazer and Lunala’s Psyche Bullet.
What Else the Pack Holds Around Card 015
The official product page puts the set at 全28種類 and describes the pack in one line: 「カードはすべてキラカード。全28種類のカードから、ランダムで5枚のカードを封入。」 — our rendering: every card is a holo card, with 5 cards inserted at random from the 28 kinds in the set. The pack is ¥297 tax included, and one of those five cards is a basic Energy card.
The official card database is a separate record: it carries 25 numbered entries, 001/028 through 025/028, plus 8 Basic Energy prints that show no number on their own pages. The official page does not say how many packs make up a booster box, and it prints no per-card finish note for 015/028 beyond the set-wide line above.
Cosmoem’s neighbours in the numbered run are Cosmog just before it at 014/028, and Solgaleo and Lunala just after it at 016 and 017/028 — the whole Alola line sits together as four consecutive cards. The set’s Psychic basic Energy print shares Cosmoem’s own type.
At the far end of that run sits Pikachu V-UNION, the database’s 025/028 entry, whose number is printed as 025/028（左上）. One card also sits beyond the numbered run: 029/028 Professor’s Research, illustrated by Ken Sugimori, which the official database carries with a Secret Rare icon.

The database’s own evolution panel for Cosmoem lists, top to bottom: 「ソルガレオGX / ルナアーラGX || ルナアーラ / ソルガレオ || [THIS CARD] コスモウム || コスモッグ」 — confirming Cosmoem evolves from Cosmog below it and can evolve into either Solgaleo or Lunala above it. The panel also names a Solgaleo GX / Lunala GX tier; those are cards from other sets and are not covered here.

Cosmoem Outside the S8a Booster Pack
Cosmoem is not among the 25 cards in the official S8a-P promo pack checklist; that pack reproduces cards from earlier eras and carries nothing from the Alola line.
Nor is Cosmoem in the Golden Box. That product’s own S8a-G subset runs to 16 database entries, all of them from a Pikachu deck: two Pikachu V, Pikachu, Raichu, Pikachu VMAX, five Item cards, four Supporters and one Basic Lightning Energy. That product carried an official MSRP of ¥17,600 (tax included). It was sold first by Pokémon Center Online lottery, opened on October 4, 2021 with shipping around winter 2021, and then in a made-to-order run whose applications ran from January 25, 2022 at 10:00 to February 7, 2022 at 17:00 at the Amazon Pokémon Store, shipping from late August 2022.
Cosmoem does have a second 2026 print, though: it sits in 30th CELEBRATION (M6a)’s main set, inside the 064–066 block it shares with Cosmog and Lunala, released worldwide on September 16, 2026.
