What Is Pikachu 018/103 in 30th Celebration?
Pikachu 018/103 is a main-set card in M6a 30th CELEBRATION, confirmed in the official card database (pokemon-card.com) with its JP name (ピカチュウ) and illustrator credit. It belongs to a dedicated 30-card Pikachu subset that runs from 017 to 046 — every pack of the set is guaranteed one of these thirty, each drawn by a different artist and carrying a fireworks-style holofoil layer over the whole card, per PokeBeach’s description, plus one Basic Energy card designed by YOSHIROTTEN.
018 is the second card in the subset’s sub-numbering, so it’s 02/30 — and its English-set equivalent is EN 024, following the compiled checklist rule that the EN number equals 22 plus the sub-number. The card text, per PokeBeach’s September 9, 2026 translation of the official database entry, is a single attack:
- [L][C][C] Volt Tackle — 80 damage. This Pokémon also does 30 damage to itself.
Weakness is Fighting (×2), there’s no listed Resistance, and retreat cost is 1 Energy. That’s the highest raw damage output of any card discussed in this guide’s own comparisons — 80 damage for three Energy, with the recoil as the trade-off — and it’s a noticeably different design choice from the Sugimori lead card’s 20-damage Thunder Shock with a paralysis flip. Each of the thirty Pikachu gets its own distinct attack or ability; none is a duplicate of another.
Who Is danciao?
Per Bulbapedia (fetched September 16, 2026), danciao is credited under the Japanese name だんちゃお. The illustrator’s first Pokémon TCG card was Rapidash, from the Japanese Pokémon Card Game Battle Academy Deck Kit, which was later included in the English Stellar Crown expansion. Bulbapedia credits danciao with 16 cards illustrated so far for the physical TCG, plus 9 cards appearing in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. Outside Pokémon, the page states danciao designed the characters Ivan the Terrible and Xiang Yu for Fate/Grand Order, and has also worked as a guest artist for the Duel Masters Trading Card Game.
Bulbapedia’s page does not state a birth year, does not confirm whether danciao is a pen name, and does not describe an art style or list further notable cards beyond the debut Rapidash — so danciao is credited on 16 TCG cards per Bulbapedia, and that’s where the sourced biography stops. The page has no statement about the 30th Celebration Pikachu specifically.

Where 018 Sits in the 30-Pikachu Subset
All thirty Pikachu cards share the same fireworks holofoil treatment and the same basic setup — different illustrator, different attack or ability, a Basic Pokémon slot around 50–80 HP — and 018 is the second card after the set-opening print. That opening card, 017/103, is illustrated by Ken Sugimori and, per PokeBeach’s coverage, recreates his own Pikachu artwork from the Jungle expansion; 018 immediately follows it as 02/30.
PokeBeach reported, from an official box opening shown before release, that one 20-pack box held 20 of the 30 Pikachu, 2 Classic Collection cards, 4 AR, 1 SAR and 1 FUR — one opening, not a published rate. We’re not converting that into odds for any individual number, including 018. The Pokémon Company has not published pull rates for this set.
