The Pokemon Mega Forces Tin lets a buyer choose one foil promo of Mega Dragonite ex, Mega Darkrai ex or Mega Zeraora ex, and the official pokemon.com page gives its launch as August 28, 2026. All three Pokemon have Japanese set prints with illustrator credits in the official card database, and only the Zeraora promo has a reported Japanese twin.
The official page lists 1 foil promo card, 4 Pokemon TCG booster packs and a code card for Pokemon TCG Live. Limitless TCG numbers the promos MEP 089 (Zeraora), MEP 090 (Darkrai) and MEP 091 (Dragonite) and credits all three to 5ban Graphics, and Bulbapedia calls each of them an alternate artwork of the regular card.
We sell Japanese sealed product and graded singles from Tokyo. Store prices are as of October 2, 2026, and USD figures use ¥154 per dollar, rounded.
The official page lists 1 foil promo of three, 4 booster packs and a code card, and gives the launch as August 28, 2026. MEP 089 Zeraora is paired by Limitless and Bulbapedia with M-P 164, a promo that has an official Japanese database row; MEP 090 Darkrai and MEP 091 Dragonite have no Japanese print of the promo art. The Japanese set prints sit in M5 Abyss Eye and M2a MEGA Dream ex, and the Abyss Eye box is offered as the Damaged Box at ¥7,796 (~$51).
The tin’s contents and launch date come from the official pokemon.com page, while the promo numbers, illustrator credits and alternate-artwork wording are reported by Limitless TCG and Bulbapedia.
What the Official Page Lists for the Mega Forces Tin
The official page is titled Pokemon TCG: Mega Forces Tin and states: « Launch: August 28, 2026 ». Its description reads: « Some of the most powerful Mega Evolution Pokemon ex ever are here to show off their strength! With this tin, you can choose the majestic wings of Mega Dragonite ex, the terrifying gaze of Mega Darkrai ex, or the lightning-fast reflexes of Mega Zeraora ex, each with powerful attacks that can overwhelm your opponent with huge damage. You also get four Pokemon Trading Card Game booster packs with even more Pokemon inside. »

The wording presents the promo as a choice among three Pokemon. The page names no Pokemon Center line for this tin.
Bulbapedia’s merchandise page (as of October 2, 2026) describes the Mega Forces Tins as another set of tins featuring Mega-Evolved Pokemon, released on August 28, 2026, each holding a promo of one of the three Pokemon and a selection of 4 booster packs. It lists the promo cards as Mega Zeraora ex (MEP Promo 089), Mega Darkrai ex (MEP Promo 090) and Mega Dragonite ex (MEP Promo 091). The official page agrees on the date and the pack count and adds the code card.
The Three Promos: MEP 089, 090 and 091
Limitless TCG lists the three promos in its Mega Promos (MEP) set, and Bulbapedia’s card pages describe how each relates to the regular print of the same Pokemon.
| Promo | Type, HP, stage (Limitless TCG) | Weakness / retreat (Limitless TCG) | Illustrator (Limitless TCG) | Regulation mark (Limitless TCG) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MEP 089 Mega Zeraora ex | Lightning, 270 HP, Basic | Fighting / 1 | 5ban Graphics | J |
| MEP 090 Mega Darkrai ex | Darkness, 280 HP, Basic | Grass / 2 | 5ban Graphics | J |
| MEP 091 Mega Dragonite ex | Dragon, 370 HP, Stage 2 | None / 2 | 5ban Graphics | I |
Bulbapedia’s card pages describe all three promos alike: each is a regular-card print with alternate artwork by 5ban Graphics, handed out in the tins as one of the MEP Black Star Promos. For Zeraora the regular print is also credited to 5ban Graphics in the Limitless TCG listing of Pitch Black 27, so a matching credit does not by itself show matching art; the alternate-artwork wording is Bulbapedia’s and the official page does not make that comparison.
How firmly each detail is established differs, and the split matters for a buyer comparing a tin promo with a Japanese print.

The Japanese side comes from the official Japanese card database, which lists every print with its rarity icon and illustrator credit. Our own coverage of the wider set mapping is in the English versus Japanese Mega Evolution sets comparison.
Mega Zeraora ex: Abyss Eye Prints and the M-P 164 Promo
The official Japanese page for Abyss Eye (M5) gives its release as May 22, 2026, with a price of ¥200 per pack, tax included, and 5 cards in each pack. The official database lists 118 cards for the set with a printed denominator of /081. It prints four rows for メガゼラオラex: three in M5 and one promo.
| Number | Rarity icon | Illustrator (official database) | HP / stage |
|---|---|---|---|
| M5 026/081 | RR | 5ban Graphics | 270 / Basic |
| M5 096/081 | SR | 5ban Graphics | 270 / Basic |
| M5 112/081 | SAR | GIDORA | 270 / Basic |
| M-P 164/M-P | No icon shown (promo) | 5ban Graphics | 270 / Basic |

All four database pages print the same card text (rendering). One attack, サンダーフィスト, costs one Lightning Energy and does 60 damage times the number of Lightning Energy attached to the Pokemon. The other, ゼプトターン, costs three Lightning Energy, does 150 damage and switches the Pokemon with a Benched Pokemon. Each card has Weakness Fighting ×2, a retreat cost of 1 and the Mega Evolution ex rule that gives the opponent 3 Prize cards when it is Knocked Out (rendering). The database page for M-P 164 prints the same text and does not print the tournament logo or a product name.
Limitless TCG pairs MEP 089 with the Japanese Mega Promotional Cards entry numbered 164, and Bulbapedia’s Zeraora card page gives the same pairing, MEP Black Star Promos 089 with M-P Promotional cards 164/M-P. According to Bulbapedia, the Japanese print was given as a prize to competitors with 4 or more total wins during Champions League 2027 events and carries the Pokemon Card Game Championships Series 2027 logo. That distribution detail is Bulbapedia’s alone, so it is reported and not official.
SNKRDUNK titles its M-P 164 row 「勝利賞」 from the promotional cards 「チャンピオンズリーグ2027 横浜」 (victory prize, Champions League 2027 Yokohama; rendering), wording that belongs to the listing and not to the official database. English Pitch Black has three Zeraora prints per Limitless TCG: 27 (Double Rare, 5ban Graphics), 98 (Ultra Rare, 5ban Graphics) and 114 (Special Art Rare, GIDORA). For the rest of the set, see our Zeraora cards guide and the Pitch Black chase cards ranking.
Mega Darkrai ex: The Four Abyss Eye Prints
The official database lists four prints of メガダークライex, all in Abyss Eye, each a Darkness Basic with 280 HP. Bulbapedia’s Pitch Black 48 page states that the Mega Forces Tin promo is a print of the regular card with alternate artwork by 5ban Graphics, and its infobox for MEP 090 shows no Japanese expansion, so the promo art has no Japanese print on record.
| Number | Rarity icon | Illustrator (official database) | English Pitch Black number (Limitless TCG) |
|---|---|---|---|
| M5 046/081 | RR | 5ban Graphics | 48 |
| M5 099/081 | SR | 5ban Graphics | 101 |
| M5 114/081 | SAR | AKIRA EGAWA | 116 |
| M5 118/081 | MUR | 5ban Graphics | 120 |
| MEP 090 (tin promo) | Not applicable | 5ban Graphics (Limitless TCG) | Not applicable; no Japanese print |

Three of the four Japanese prints share the 5ban Graphics credit with the promo, and only the SAR is credited to someone else. A buyer who wants the tin’s Darkrai illustration cannot find it among the Japanese prints on illustrator credit alone, and Bulbapedia’s alternate-artwork statement is the reason to treat the tin promo as its own print. The English Pitch Black expansion is dated July 17, 2026 on its official page, and Bulbapedia says Pitch Black includes cards released in the Japanese Abyss Eye expansion.
The pairing of each English number with its Japanese number comes from Limitless TCG, and the illustrator credit matches in every pair. Our own Mega Darkrai ex value guide and the Darkrai cards guide cover the Pokemon across every era.
Mega Dragonite ex: The Four MEGA Dream ex Prints
MEGA Dream ex (M2a) is the Japanese set that carries Mega Dragonite ex. The official Japanese page gives its release as November 28, 2025, with a price of ¥550 per pack, tax included, and 10 cards in each pack. The official database lists 250 cards for the set against a printed denominator of /193, and the page names メガカイリューex among its featured cards.
| Number | Rarity icon | Illustrator (official database) | English Ascended Heroes number (Limitless TCG) |
|---|---|---|---|
| M2a 126/193 | RR | aky CG Works | 152 |
| M2a 232/193 | MA | DOM | 271 |
| M2a 246/193 | SAR | DOM | 290 |
| M2a 250/193 | MUR | aky CG Works | 295 |
| MEP 091 (tin promo) | Not applicable | 5ban Graphics (Limitless TCG) | Not applicable; no Japanese print |

The database prints one card text for all four (rendering). The Ability スカイキャリー can be used once during your turn and switches your Active Pokemon with a Benched Pokemon. The attack リューノグライド costs one Water and two Lightning Energy, does 330 damage and discards two Energy attached to the Pokemon. The card is a Stage 2 with 370 HP, no Weakness and a retreat cost of 2, and it follows the same 3-Prize rule for Mega Evolution ex.
No Japanese Dragonite print is credited to 5ban Graphics: the regular and Mega hyper rare prints are credited to aky CG Works and the Mega attack rare and special illustration rare prints to DOM, which is also how Bulbapedia’s Ascended Heroes 152 page captions them. That page adds that the tin’s promo is an alternate artwork credited to 5ban Graphics. Bulbapedia says Ascended Heroes includes cards from the Japanese MEGA Dream ex subset, and the English expansion’s official page gives January 30, 2026 as its release date. More on the set sits in our M2a MEGA Dream ex complete guide and the Mega Dragonite cards guide.
English Prints, Japanese Prints and Illustrator Credits
Limitless TCG lists the English prints of each Pokemon and the Japanese prints that share their cards, and the official database supplies the Japanese rarity icon and credit.
| English print (Limitless TCG) | Japanese print (official database) | Japanese illustrator credit | Credit comparison |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pitch Black 27 Zeraora, Double Rare | M5 026/081 RR | 5ban Graphics | Same credit (Limitless: 5ban Graphics) |
| Pitch Black 98 Zeraora, Ultra Rare | M5 096/081 SR | 5ban Graphics | Same credit (Limitless: 5ban Graphics) |
| Pitch Black 114 Zeraora, Special Art Rare | M5 112/081 SAR | GIDORA | Same credit (Limitless: GIDORA) |
| MEP 089 Zeraora promo | M-P 164/M-P | 5ban Graphics | Same credit; Bulbapedia says it is the same promo print |
| Pitch Black 48, 101, 116, 120 Darkrai | M5 046, 099, 114, 118 | 5ban, 5ban, AKIRA EGAWA, 5ban | Same credit in each pair |
| MEP 090 Darkrai promo | No Japanese print | Not applicable | No Japanese print |
| Ascended Heroes 152 Dragonite, Double Rare | M2a 126/193 RR | aky CG Works | Same credit (Limitless: aky CG Works) |
| Ascended Heroes 271 Dragonite | M2a 232/193 MA | DOM | Same credit (Limitless: DOM) |
| Ascended Heroes 290 Dragonite, Special Art Rare | M2a 246/193 SAR | DOM | Same credit (Limitless: DOM) |
| Ascended Heroes 295 Dragonite, Secret Rare | M2a 250/193 MUR | aky CG Works | Same credit (Limitless: aky CG Works) |
| MEP 091 Dragonite promo | No Japanese print | Not applicable | No Japanese print |
The rarity names in the English column are Limitless TCG’s own; Bulbapedia calls Ascended Heroes 271 a Mega attack rare, and the Japanese column uses the rarity icons printed in the official database. A matching credit is a credit match only; artwork identity between an English print and a Japanese print is not confirmed.
For a buyer, the Japanese prints carry the same credits as their English pairs, the Zeraora tin promo has a reported Japanese counterpart in an event prize, and the Darkrai and Dragonite tin promos have none. Bulbapedia’s description of the set relationship is that Pitch Black includes cards released in Abyss Eye and that Ascended Heroes includes cards from the MEGA Dream ex subset; the card-by-card pairs are the part Limitless TCG supports with numbers.
SNKRDUNK Lowest Asks for the Dragonite, Darkrai and Zeraora Prints
These are asking prices only, shown on SNKRDUNK product pages on October 2, 2026, and they are not sales or valuations. SNKRDUNK shows a minimum display price of ¥1,000, so a figure of exactly ¥1,000 marks that floor and is not a verified ask. PSA 10 figures come from the per-condition grid on each product page, and a dash means the grid shows no listing.
| Lowest ask on SNKRDUNK, October 2, 2026 | PSA 10 ask (SNKRDUNK grid), October 2, 2026 | |

| Mega Dragonite ex M2a 250/193 MUR | ¥17,999 (~$117) | ¥53,700 (~$349) |
As of October 2, 2026, the box asks are ¥12,500 (~$81) for the M2a MEGA Dream ex box (¥10,799, ~$70, for the no-shrink version) and ¥7,799 (~$51) for the M5 Abyss Eye box (¥6,700, ~$44, for the no-shrink version), each as the lowest ask on SNKRDUNK, October 2, 2026. The Zeraora promo row carries a lone ask, which says little about how the promo is priced.
The Japanese Boxes Behind the Three Pokemon
The tin and the Japanese boxes are different products: the tin holds a chosen promo and four packs, while each Japanese box holds packs of one set.

Damaged Box products are separate products from the main box pages. Neither official Japanese page prints which cards a box holds, so no box can be tied to a specific print.

The set listing pages are the MEGA Dream ex (M2a) card list and the Abyss Eye (M5) card list, and our box guides cover the two sets as products: the MEGA Dream ex booster box buying guide and the Abyss Eye booster box buying guide. We do not list the English Mega Forces Tin; the Japanese boxes and the graded prints are the Japanese route to the same Pokemon.
PSA 10 Back Orders for Dragonite and Darkrai
The Mega Dragonite ex SAR is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥30,965 (~$201) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms. For the MUR the PSA 10 back order is at ¥54,637 (~$355), and for the MA it is at ¥5,100 (~$33). On the Darkrai side, the MUR is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥59,874 (~$389) and the SAR at ¥30,328 (~$197). The route is described in our PSA 10 back orders guide. PSA 10 designates Gem Mint condition under PSA’s published grading standards. The Mega Zeraora ex prints have no PSA 10 listing, and neither do the Dragonite RR 126/193 and the Darkrai RR 046/081 and SR 099/081; sourcing requests for those numbers go through Commande rapide. Other graded Japanese cards are on the PSA 10 card list.
Buying Checklist: Tin, Box or Graded Single
- Start with the promo. The official page gives a choice of three Pokemon; Zeraora is the only one of the three with a reported Japanese twin, M-P 164.
- Match numbers, not names. The Japanese prints are Zeraora 026/081, 096/081, 112/081 and 164/M-P, Darkrai 046/081, 099/081, 114/081 and 118/081, and Dragonite 126/193, 232/193, 246/193 and 250/193.
- Read the illustrator credit with care. 5ban Graphics is credited on the three promos and on several Japanese Zeraora and Darkrai prints; a shared credit is not evidence of shared art, and Bulbapedia calls the promos alternate artwork.
- Treat asks as asks. The SNKRDUNK figures are lowest asking prices on October 2, 2026, a figure of ¥1,000 is a display floor, and the M-P 164 figure is a lone ask.
- Check the status words. Contents and launch are official; promo numbers, credits and the M-P 164 prize detail are reported.
- Pick the product that matches the goal. A Japanese box holds packs from one set; a PSA 10 back order targets one print by number.

Foire aux questions
What is inside the Pokemon Mega Forces Tin?
The official pokemon.com page lists 1 foil promo card featuring Mega Dragonite ex, Mega Darkrai ex, or Mega Zeraora ex, 4 Pokemon TCG booster packs and a code card for Pokemon TCG Live. The page does not name the expansions the four packs come from, and it prints no price.
When does the Mega Forces Tin release?
The official pokemon.com product page gives the launch as August 28, 2026, and says the tin is available where Pokemon TCG products are sold. Bulbapedia (October 2, 2026) gives the same date. The Japanese Abyss Eye expansion that carries Darkrai and Zeraora released earlier, on May 22, 2026, per its official Japanese page.
How much does the Mega Forces Tin cost?
The official page prints no price, so the tin’s price is not confirmed. On the Japanese side, the official pages print ¥200 per pack for Abyss Eye and ¥550 per pack for MEGA Dream ex, and the Abyss Eye box is offered as the Damaged Box at ¥7,796 (~$51).
Which promo numbers are in the Mega Forces Tin?
Limitless TCG numbers the promos MEP 089 for Mega Zeraora ex, MEP 090 for Mega Darkrai ex and MEP 091 for Mega Dragonite ex, and credits all three to 5ban Graphics. Bulbapedia lists the same numbers. The official page prints no numbers, so the numbering is reported, not official.
Does the Mega Zeraora ex promo have a Japanese version?
Reportedly yes. Limitless TCG and Bulbapedia pair MEP 089 with the Japanese promo M-P 164, which has an official database row credited to 5ban Graphics. Bulbapedia says the Japanese print was a Champions League 2027 prize with a Championships Series 2027 logo; that detail is reported, not official.
Do the Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Dragonite ex promos have Japanese versions?
No Japanese print of either promo’s art is on record. Bulbapedia’s infobox for MEP 090 and MEP 091 shows no Japanese expansion, and the official database lists only the set prints of those two Pokemon. The Japanese prints are Abyss Eye for Darkrai and MEGA Dream ex for Dragonite.
How many Japanese Mega Dragonite ex cards are there?
The official Japanese database lists four prints of メガカイリューex, all in MEGA Dream ex (M2a): RR 126/193, MA 232/193, SAR 246/193 and MUR 250/193. The database credits aky CG Works on the RR and MUR and DOM on the MA and SAR; none carries a 5ban Graphics credit.
Which Japanese boxes carry the Mega Forces Tin Pokemon?
Abyss Eye (M5) carries Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Zeraora ex, and MEGA Dream ex (M2a) carries Mega Dragonite ex. The M2a Damaged Box is offered at ¥11,977 (~$78); which cards a given box holds is not printed, so a box cannot be tied to one print.
