The Hisui region only ever got one video game, but it left behind two full expansions’ worth of alternate-form Pokemon on cardboard. Zoroark, Typhlosion, Decidueye, Samurott, Goodra, Sneasler, Arcanine — all reimagined with new types and new art the moment Legends: Arceus shipped in early 2022, and all printed into Japanese sets within a few months of each other.
What makes the Hisuian lineup distinct from a normal reprint wave is that most of the lineup changed something structural — a type, an evolution line, sometimes both — rather than just repainting an existing Pokemon in a new color. Hisuian Typhlosion trading Fire for Psychic, or Hisuian Samurott trading Water for Darkness, means these cards read differently in deckbuilding terms, not just on the shelf.
This guide covers the two sets that carry the core of that run — S10a Dark Phantasma and S9a Battle Region — card by card, plus where the Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia VSTAR cards fit into the wider Hisuian card story. We ship Japanese sealed product and singles out of Tokyo every week, so the stock notes here reflect our own catalog.
Eight Hisuian-form cards anchor this guide across two 2022 sets: S10a Dark Phantasma (Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR’s set) and S9a Battle Region (the Hisuian starter VSTAR trio). From Dark Phantasma, a PSA 10 Hinatsu SR — listed in our catalog as Arezu [S10a 086/071] — is currently listed at ¥14,459 (~$89) (pembaruan: stok habis — minta restock via Quick Order), and a full S10A Dark Phantasma Booster Box is currently listed at ¥28,500 (~$175).
Prices reflect our own catalog as of August 2026, converted at ¥163/USD.
Eight Hisuian Cards Worth Knowing
The Hisuian-form run splits cleanly across two Japanese sets released about three months apart in 2022:
| Kartu | Number | Rarity | Set | Year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR | S10a 062/071 | RRR | Dark Phantasma | 2022 |
| Hinatsu (Arezu) | S10a 086/071 | SR | Dark Phantasma | 2022 |
| Radiant Hisuian Sneasler | S10a 046/071 | K | Dark Phantasma | 2022 |
| Hisuian Goodra VSTAR | S10a 057/071 | RRR | Dark Phantasma | 2022 |
| Hisuian Arcanine | S10a 075/071 | CHR | Dark Phantasma | 2022 |
| Hisuian Typhlosion VSTAR | S9a 029/067 | RRR | Battle Region | 2022 |
| Hisuian Decidueye VSTAR | S9a 045/067 | RRR | Battle Region | 2022 |
| Hisuian Samurott VSTAR | S9a 053/067 | RRR | Battle Region | 2022 |
S10a Dark Phantasma released May 13, 2022 (071 base cards, 099 total) and is built around Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR as its headline chase card, with a supporting cast of Hisuian-form Pokemon underneath it. S9a Battle Region released three months earlier, February 25, 2022 (067 base cards, 093 total), and carries the VSTAR final evolutions of all three Legends: Arceus starters — Typhlosion, Decidueye, and Samurott. Between the two sets, that’s eight Hisuian-form cards spanning starters, a pseudo-legendary, a Radiant rarity, and a Character Rare.
Card numbering is a useful shortcut when you’re sorting a collection: anything in the S10a range 001–071 or S9a range 001–067 is a base-set printing at its standard rarity, while numbers past those totals belong to the set’s higher-rarity secret/alternate-art block. Several of the cards below — Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR, Hinatsu, and Hisuian Samurott VSTAR among them — have a second printing further up in that secret range, so the same character can show up twice in a checklist at two different price points.
The Headliner: Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR

Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR (S10a 062/071, RRR) is Dark Phantasma’s Colorless-type headliner, illustrated by aky CG Works at 270 HP. Its VSTAR Power, Phantom Star, trashes your entire hand to draw seven fresh cards — a full hand refill in one action. Its attack, Curse Carving, deals 50 damage multiplied by the number of your own Pokemon that already have damage counters on them, rewarding a board that’s taken some hits.
The card also exists at two higher rarities within the same set: a UR at 097/071 and an HR at 092/071, both still S10a Dark Phantasma printings of the same Colorless-type card. For a full breakdown of how those parallels and the rest of the set’s chase cards stack up, see our Dark Phantasma best cards guide.
Hinatsu, Listed as Arezu: Our Listed SR

Dark Phantasma’s supporter card at 086/071, illustrated by You Iribi, is a Secret Rare of the Hisui-era character Hinatsu — the Japanese name printed on the card. In our own product listings this card is catalogued under the name Arezu, so if you’re searching our stock or comparing it to other retailers, both names point to the same S10a 086/071 SR.
As a Supporter, Hinatsu lets you search your deck for up to three Evolution Pokemon (excluding Rule Box Pokemon) and add them to your hand, then shuffle your deck — a useful acceleration tool for any deck leaning on multi-stage evolution lines, not just the Hisuian ones. A higher-rarity HR printing also exists in the same set at 095/071.
A PSA 10 Hinatsu (Arezu) SR, S10a 086/071, is currently listed at ¥14,459 (~$89) (pembaruan: stok habis — minta restock via Quick Order) in our catalog.
The Rest of Dark Phantasma’s Hisuian Roster
Radiant Hisuian Sneasler (S10a 046/071, illustrated by Akira Komayama) is a Darkness-type card at 130 HP holding the set’s Radiant rarity — a “one per deck” rarity tier. Its ability applies a poison-linked extra damage effect against poisoned opponents.
Hisuian Goodra VSTAR (S10a 057/071, RRR, illustrated by 5ban Graphics) is a Dragon-type card at 270 HP with no listed Weakness. Its VSTAR Power fully heals itself, and its attack, Iron Rolling, does 200 damage while reducing the damage it takes on the opponent’s next turn by 80.
Hisuian Arcanine (S10a 075/071) sits in the Character Rare block that runs from 072–077 in the set. It’s one of the harder cards in this lineup to pin down beyond its number and rarity — its illustrator credit isn’t independently confirmed here.
Together, these three cards give Dark Phantasma three different ways to chase the same regional theme: a Radiant rarity that’s capped at one copy per deck by rule, a VSTAR pseudo-legendary with a full-art treatment, and a Character Rare that puts the Pokemon in a styled scene rather than a standard battle pose. If you’re building a Hisuian-themed collection rather than chasing a single card, that spread across rarity types is part of what makes Dark Phantasma the set to start with.
The Battle Region Trio: Typhlosion, Decidueye, Samurott
Battle Region gave all three Legends: Arceus starter final evolutions a VSTAR printing, and each one leans into a different Hisuian type reassignment.
Hisuian Typhlosion VSTAR (S9a 029/067, illustrated by 5ban Graphics) went from pure Fire to a Psychic-type card at 260 HP. Its VSTAR Power attack, Shadow Blaze, knocks out an opposing Active Pokemon that has exactly four damage counters on it, while its regular attack, Hollow Flame, does 180 damage and spreads three damage counters across the opponent’s Bench.
Hisuian Decidueye VSTAR (S9a 045/067, illustrated by 5ban Graphics) shifted from Grass/Flying to a Fighting-type card at 270 HP. Its VSTAR Power ability, Fuun Star, lets you draw cards until you hold eight, and its attack, Somersault Feather, does 160-plus damage.
Hisuian Samurott VSTAR (S9a 053/067, illustrated by 5ban Graphics) moved from pure Water to a Darkness-type card at 270 HP. Its VSTAR Power, Zangetsu Star, puts four damage counters on an opposing Pokemon, and its attack, Ruthless Blade, does 110-plus damage with a bonus 110 more if the target already has damage counters on it. Samurott also has a UR printing at 091/067 in the same set.
All three retain the standard VSTAR card frame rather than a full-art or alternate-art treatment at their base 029/045/053 numbers.

Two more Hisuian-linked Legendaries — Origin Forme Dialga VSTAR and Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR — headline their own sets, S10D Time Gazer and S10P Space Juggler, both released April 8, 2022, a month before Dark Phantasma.
