Journey Together in English, Battle Partners in Japan

English collectors meet Journey Together through retail products. The tcg.pokemon.com expansion page lists six: the Elite Trainer Box, the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, the Build & Battle Box, the Booster Bundle, the Booster Display and the Sleeved Booster. In Japan the expansion is SV9 Battle Partners, an expansion pack sold in boxes of packs.

No official source states that the English set equals the Japanese set. The pairing above is Bulbapedia’s. The card-level matches below are Limitless TCG’s, and they cover only the cards listed there.

The English Set: What the Official Page Prints

The pokemon.com page for Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together gives an approximate set size, not an exact one. Limitless TCG’s set list supplies the exact rows.

Limitless labels the rarity of each row. The labels are Limitless’s own, not the printed rarity names.

The 31 cards above number 159 are the Art Rare, Ultra Rare, Special Art Rare and Secret Rare rows.

Card-by-Card: What Limitless Matches to SV9

Limitless TCG’s page for each English card lists its Japanese prints, meaning the Japanese cards that share the same game text. The tables show, for every English card numbered 160 to 190, the Japanese print in the same rarity tier. The pairing used is Art Rare with AR, Special Art Rare with SAR, Ultra Rare with SR and Secret Rare with UR. Each English Art Rare has a Japanese AR print numbered 101 to 112 in SV9, printed with a /100 denominator in the official database. The same Pokémon also appears earlier in the Japanese set as a lower-rarity card: Maractus, for example, is SV9 006/100 (U) and 101/100 (AR).

Ultra Rare Cards (11)

Limitless lists the English Ultra Rare cards against Japanese SR prints numbered 113 to 123. The eight ex cards among them each also have a Double Rare print earlier in the set, listed as RR in the official database; Volcanion ex, for example, is SV9 017/100.

The three English Secret Rare cards match the three Japanese UR prints numbered 130 to 132. The Iono’s Bellibolt ex and N’s Zoroark ex entries here are the same Pokémon as the Ultra Rare and Special Art Rare rows above, at a different tier and a different number in each region.

The Japanese Box: Store Listings

The SV9 Battle Partners booster box is a variable product. The Sealed option is currently listed and the No Shrink option is sold out at the time of this update — restock requests go through Pesan Cepat. The Damaged Box and the Damaged Box (Grade B) are separate products.

Where to Buy the Japanese Side from Tokyo
