Ho-Oh GX HR 059/051 and the Official Database

The pokemon-card.com card database (as printed on September 30, 2026) has no row for Ho-Oh GX HR 059/051. Under all regulations the database lists four cards named ホウオウGX, and none of them is number 059 of SM3H. Limitless TCG, a third-party card site, also has no SM3H #59 page; its SM3H list stops at #57 (as of September 30, 2026). Because of that, no official image of the HR print and no official rarity icon for it are available.

The four rows the database does list are shown below. They are the other prints of the same card name, and they are the reason the HR print is easy to confuse with its neighbours in the same set.

Regulation marks are not shown by the database; Limitless shows the mark A on SM3H #53, a different number, and has no page for 059.

The Set: To Have Seen the Battle Rainbow (SM3H)

SM3H is 闘う虹を見たか (To Have Seen the Battle Rainbow), one half of the SM3 pair released in Japan on June 16, 2017. SM3 is an expansion pack with 51 cards in the main set; the other half is 光を喰らう闇 (Darkness that Consumes Light). Bulbapedia’s list of Japanese expansions (as of September 15, 2026) pairs SM3 with the English set Burning Shadows.

English Cards With the Same Game Text

Bulbapedia pairs the HR print with the English SM Black Star Promo SM80 (Shining Legends Super-Premium Collection print, illustrated by 5ban Graphics). Limitless TCG lists five English cards with the same game text as the Japanese card (as of September 30, 2026); each row is a card with matching text, not proof of identical artwork.

Four of the five list 5ban Graphics, the illustrator Bulbapedia gives for the HR, so the illustrator alone does not single out one English card. The Bulbapedia pairing names SM80, and Sun & Moon Promos #80 is the row that carries that number in the Limitless list. Burning Shadows #21 is the Double Rare with the PLANETA credit, which matches the Japanese RR rows rather than the HR. Hidden Fates #SV50 is listed as a Triple Rare with the 5ban Graphics credit; it is one of the English cards with matching text, and no source says it is the same artwork as the Japanese HR.

What a PSA 10 of This Print Shows

PSA 10 designates Gem Mint condition per PSA’s published grading standards; our PSA 10 meaning guide covers the scale. For a print the database does not list, the identification rests on the listing: Ho-Oh GX, HR, SM3H, 059/051. Three checks help before ordering.

• Number, not just name. Ho-Oh GX exists as RR (012/051), SR (053/051) and HR (059/051) in the same set. The number is what separates them.
• Rarity wording. The listing says HR; Bulbapedia says Secret Rainbow Rare. Both refer to 059/051.
• Not the SSR. The SM8b 210/150 Ho-Oh GX is a different card from a different set; it is listed separately below.
