The Japanese McDonald’s Happy Set 2025 Pokemon cards are six promo cards numbered M-P 017 to 022, and McDonald’s Japan’s news release of August 4, 2025 is the official source for how they reached customers.
The release covers a three-day card present with the Happy Set, while the official card database at pokemon-card.com supplies the six rows with illustrators and card text. The SNKRDUNK asking prices carry the date October 2, 2026.

McDonald’s Japan (official, August 4, 2025) announced one 2-card set with each Happy Set on August 9, 10 and 11, 2025: Pikachu plus 1 random card of 5. The official database lists exactly 6 cards, M-P 017 to 022. We offer the PSA 10 Pikachu M-P 020 as a back order at ¥10,710 (~$70) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms. The lowest PSA 10 ask on SNKRDUNK was ¥10,200 (~$66) on October 2, 2026.
The official database rows, the SNKRDUNK lowest asks and store prices carry the date October 2, 2026; the McDonald’s release is dated August 4, 2025.
Release facts are McDonald’s Japan’s wording summarised in English, card facts are the official database’s, and market figures are SNKRDUNK lowest asking prices as of October 2, 2026, never sold prices.
What McDonald’s Japan Announced
The news release of August 4, 2025 from 日本マクドナルド announced the Happy Set 2025 Pokémon toys and, as an extra for three days, Pokémon cards. The cards are a small part of a larger release about toys, so the facts that matter for card buyers are the dates, the quantity rules and three footnotes.
| Articolo | Detail | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Sale of the Happy Set | From Friday, August 8, 2025 for about 3 weeks (planned), at McDonald’s stores nationwide except some stores | Official |
| Store price | From ¥510 (~$3), tax included, varying by delivery or location | Official |
| Toys | 9 in all: 8 toys and 1 secret toy, including Pikachu, Eevee, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Mega Lucario and Mega Charizard X | Official |
| Toy schedule | First wave August 8 to 14, second wave August 15 to 21, third wave from August 22 with one of the earlier toys | Official |
| Cards | Only on August 9 (Sat), August 10 (Sun) and August 11 (Mon, holiday), 2025 | Official |
The release also mentions the expansion packs メガブレイブ (Mega Brave, rendering) and メガシンフォニア (Mega Symphonia, rendering), released on August 1, 2025, and suggests playing them together with the Riolu and Ralts cards from the Happy Set. In that line the release links the promo cards to the card game’s own sets.
The Three-Day Card Present
For each Happy Set purchased on the three days, the release offered one 2-card set: one Pikachu in an original illustration, plus one card picked at random from the five others, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, Ralts and Riolu. The release marks the present as limited in quantity, ending when stock runs out.
| Rule | Wording summarised |
|---|---|
| Contents of a set | Pikachu (original illustration) x1 and one random card of 5 types |
| Purchase cap | Up to 5 Happy Sets per person on the three days |
| Choice of card | None; toys and cards are sealed in advance |
| Complete collection | Buying 5 sets does not guarantee that all types are obtained |
| Resale | Purchases for resale or other profit, and orders too large to eat, are discouraged |
| Footnote 1 | The Pikachu has the same text as a Pikachu card already in the Pokémon Card Game |
| Footnote 2 | Distribution may be stopped at short notice |
| Footnote 3 | The cards may be distributed by another method in future |
The release does not print card numbers, illustrators, the quantity produced or the per-store allocation. It also does not say whether every store gave the cards on all three days. The numbers M-P 017 to 022 come from the official card database.
The Six Cards in the Official Database
The official database groups the cards under the product name マクドナルド「ハッピーセット2025」. As of October 2, 2026, the product group returns exactly 6 cards, all with the set code M-P and no rarity icon, which is how the database prints a promo. The images are the database’s official card pictures.
| Number | Carta | Illustrator | HP | Type | Attack (Japanese name, English rendering) | Weakness / resistance | Retreat |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 017/M-P | Sprigatito | Mina Nakai | 60 | Grass | ふみまくる, 10×: flip 3 coins, 10 damage times the number of heads (rendering) | Fire ×2 | 1 |
| 018/M-P | Fuecoco | Tomomi Ozaki | 80 | Fire | ねつでこがす, 20: the Defending Pokémon is Burned (rendering) | Water ×2 | 2 |
| 019/M-P | Quaxly | Saboteri | 60 | Water | つばめがえし, 10+: flip a coin; if heads, 20 more damage (rendering) | Lightning ×2 | 1 |
| 020/M-P | Pikachu | Yuu Nishida | 70 | Lightning | でんじスパーク: 10 damage to 1 of the opponent’s Pokémon, with no weakness or resistance applied to the Bench (rendering) | Fighting ×2 | 1 |
| 021/M-P | Ralts | Terada Tera | 70 | Psychic | もってくる: draw 1 card; ずつき, 10 (rendering) | Darkness ×2; resists Fighting −30 | 1 |
| 022/M-P | Riolu | hncl | 80 | Fighting | かそくづき, 30: this Pokémon cannot use かそくづき on the next turn (rendering) | Psychic ×2 | 2 |
All six are Basic Pokémon. The database ties Pikachu 020/M-P to Yuu Nishida, and each of the other five to a different illustrator. The attack texts in the table are English renderings of the official Japanese text, not official English card text.
Identifying the Card by Number
Two of the six cards have same-text rows elsewhere in the official database, and the release says the Pikachu shares its text with an existing card, so the number on the card is the identifier. The official database lists a Sprigatito numbered 003/023 in the product Start Deck 100 Battle Collection, Colochao Ver. (MP1) (product name in rendering), with the same illustrator credit, Mina Nakai, and the same attack as 017/M-P. It also lists a Ralts numbered 066/M-P in the Special Card Set Mega Gallade ex (product name in rendering), with the same illustrator credit, Terada Tera, and the same attacks as 021/M-P.
| Happy Set card | Other database row | Product line on the other row (rendering) | Shared details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sprigatito 017/M-P | Sprigatito 003/023 | Start Deck 100 Battle Collection, Colochao Ver. (MP1) | Illustrator Mina Nakai; same attack |
| Ralts 021/M-P | Ralts 066/M-P | Special Card Set Mega Gallade ex | Illustrator Terada Tera; same attacks |
The McDonald’s footnote about Pikachu says the card has the same text as a Pikachu in the existing card game. The release does not name which Pikachu that is, and the official database holds 327 results for the keyword Pikachu, so the base print is not identified. A buyer should therefore match 020/M-P, not the name, and the same rule applies to the other five.
The Sealed Two-Card Set and Its Asks
The sealed 2-card set is the item the McDonald’s release describes: one Pikachu and one random card of the other five. Our product page for it, the McDonald’s Happy Set 2025 Promo Pack, is sold out at the time of this update — restock requests go through Ordine rapido.
SNKRDUNK carries a row titled ポケモンカードゲームMEGA マクドナルド ハッピーセット2025 プロモカードパック. The lowest ask for one set was ¥2,700 (~$18) on October 2, 2026. The row also lists lot sizes from 1 to 20 sets.
| Lot size | Lowest ask | Per set |
|---|---|---|
| 1 set | ¥2,700 (~$18) | – |
| 2 sets | ¥5,100 (~$33) | – |
| 3 sets | ¥8,000 (~$52) | – |
| 4 sets | ¥10,500 (~$68) | – |
| 5 sets | ¥13,500 (~$88) | – |
| 10 sets | ¥29,500 (~$192) | ¥2,950 per set |
| 20 sets | ¥64,998 (~$422) | ¥3,250 per set |
Each set holds Pikachu plus one random card, so a lot does not guarantee all six cards. These are asking prices from sellers, not sales.
PSA 10 Back Orders for M-P 017–022
Sprigatito 017/M-P is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥4,723 (~$31). A back order is a PSA 10 card sourced after the order; PSA 10 su ordinazione explains how it works.
| Carta | Our PSA 10 back order | Lowest PSA 10 ask on SNKRDUNK | Lowest ask on the card row (any condition) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sprigatito 017/M-P | ¥4,723 (~$31) | ¥4,748 (~$31) | ¥1,000 (~$6) |
| Fuecoco 018/M-P | ¥4,385 (~$28) | ¥4,000 (~$26) | ¥1,000 (~$6) |
| Quaxly 019/M-P | ¥4,590 (~$30) | ¥4,600 (~$30) | ¥1,000 (~$6) |
| Pikachu 020/M-P | ¥10,710 (~$70) ¥10,710 (~$70) |
¥10,200 (~$66) | ¥2,000 (~$13) |
| Ralts 021/M-P | ¥4,347 (~$28) | ¥4,299 (~$28) | ¥1,000 (~$6) |
| Riolu 022/M-P | ¥4,478 (~$29) | ¥4,700 (~$31) | ¥1,000 (~$6) |
The SNKRDUNK figures are asking prices as of October 2, 2026. The PSA 10 figure comes from the page’s per-condition grid, and the row figure is the lowest ask in any condition.
Pikachu M-P 020 in Detail
Pikachu 020/M-P is the card that every Happy Set card present contained, and the SNKRDUNK row shows ¥2,000 (~$13) as the lowest ask in any condition. The PSA 10 grid shows ¥10,200 (~$66) and the PSA 9 grid ¥4,849 (~$31), both lowest asks on October 2, 2026. The row also shows slabs from other grading companies, among them one BGS 10 Black Label ask of ¥550,000 (~$3,571) on a single listing, which is a weak figure and not a market level.
The database credits Pikachu 020/M-P to Yuu Nishida, with HP 70, the Lightning type and the attack でんじスパーク. It is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥10,710 (~$70). Our PSA 10 Pikachu buying guide covers Pikachu cards from other eras, and the PSA 10 Japanese promo cards guide covers promos in general.
Not the MinimumPack and Not the US Promos
Three different things carry a McDonald’s name in Pokémon cards, and they are separate products. The Happy Set 2025 cards are the six M-P cards from the Japanese 2025 release. The US McDonald’s promotions are a different, English-language program with its own cards. The 2002 McDonald’s Original MinimumPack, with the code eM, is another promo, described in our Charmander MinimumPack card guide.
The M-P series itself, the promo series of the Mega era to which the six cards belong by number, is explained in the M-P promo cards guide. Listings for the Happy Set cards use the product line “Promo Card Pack McDonald’s Happy Set 2025” after the card name and number, which separates them from the eM cards and from other M-P numbers.
Checking a Card or Slab Before Ordering
Four details separate a Happy Set card from another card with the same Pokémon on it.
- The number. Sprigatito is 017/M-P, Fuecoco 018/M-P, Quaxly 019/M-P, Pikachu 020/M-P, Ralts 021/M-P and Riolu 022/M-P. A Sprigatito numbered 003/023 or a Ralts numbered 066/M-P is a different card.
- The product line. The listing names the Promo Card Pack McDonald’s Happy Set 2025, in the same way the official database names its product group.
- The illustrator. The database credits Mina Nakai, Tomomi Ozaki, Saboteri, Yuu Nishida, Terada Tera and hncl in number order.
- The grade. PSA 10 is the grade of every back order. Our PSA 10 meaning guide explains the scale, and the condition guide covers raw cards.
The Japanese Pokemon card grading guide covers PSA, BGS and CGC, and the fake Japanese card guide lists what to inspect on a raw card.

Where to Buy Happy Set Cards from Japan

Domande frequenti
What are the McDonald’s Happy Set 2025 Pokemon cards?
They are six Japanese promo cards numbered M-P 017 to 022: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, Pikachu, Ralts and Riolu. The official card database groups them under the product name マクドナルド「ハッピーセット2025」. The release offered them with the Happy Set as a 2-card set: Pikachu plus one random card of the other five.
When were the Happy Set Pokemon cards given out?
Per McDonald’s Japan’s release of August 4, 2025, the cards were a present only on August 9, 10 and 11, 2025, while the Happy Set itself went on sale from August 8 for about three weeks (planned). Whether every store gave them on all three days is not confirmed.
What was in each Happy Set card present?
One 2-card set per Happy Set: Pikachu in an original illustration plus one random card of five, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, Ralts or Riolu. The cards were sealed in advance and could not be chosen, and buying 5 sets did not guarantee every type. Each person could buy up to 5 sets.
Which card numbers are the Happy Set cards?
The official database lists Sprigatito 017/M-P, Fuecoco 018/M-P, Quaxly 019/M-P, Pikachu 020/M-P, Ralts 021/M-P and Riolu 022/M-P, all with the set code M-P and no rarity icon. Sprigatito 003/023 and Ralts 066/M-P share text with 017 and 021 but are different cards.
How much is a PSA 10 Pikachu M-P 020?
We offer it as a PSA 10 back order at ¥10,710 (~$70). The lowest PSA 10 ask on SNKRDUNK was ¥10,200 (~$66) on October 2, 2026. SNKRDUNK figures are sellers’ asking prices, not sold prices, and the product page shows the current back-order terms.
Which Happy Set cards can I order as PSA 10?
All six numbers are offered as PSA 10 back orders on our store. For example, Ralts 021/M-P is offered at ¥4,347 (~$28), and Pikachu 020/M-P at ¥10,710 (~$70). The lowest PSA 10 asks on SNKRDUNK on October 2, 2026 run from ¥4,000 (~$26) to ¥10,200 (~$66).
How much is the sealed Happy Set 2-card set?
SNKRDUNK’s lowest ask for one sealed 2-card set was ¥2,700 (~$18) on October 2, 2026, and ¥13,500 (~$88) for a lot of five. Each set holds Pikachu plus one random card of five, so a lot does not guarantee all six cards. These are sellers’ asking prices, not sold prices.
Are these the same as the McDonald’s MinimumPack or US McDonald’s cards?
No. The Happy Set 2025 cards are the six Japanese M-P promos. The 2002 MinimumPack uses the code eM and is a different promo, and the US McDonald’s promotions are a separate English-language program. Each has its own card numbers, and they should not be mixed when ordering.
