Pikachu ex Mega Dream: Complete Guide to Electric Ball and the M2a Set

Updated November 8, 2026

Pikachu ex Mega Dream points to one official card in the Japanese High Class Pack Mega Dream ex (M2a): Electric Ball 163/193, a Pokémon Tool that adds +50 damage to attacks used by the Pikachu ex it is attached to. This guide explains that card, the set around it, and how to buy M2a cards from Tokyo.

What does “Pikachu ex Mega Dream” mean in the Japanese M2a set?

“Pikachu ex Mega Dream” is a search for the Pikachu ex connection inside the Japanese High Class Pack Mega Dream ex, set code M2a (M2A), and the one official card that ties the two together is Electric Ball 163/193. Everything below is built on that card and on the official set page.

Collectors type this phrase to find the Pikachu ex card in Mega Dream ex. The answer from the official pages is narrow. The official Pokémon Card Game product page for the set does not mention Pikachu cards at all, and the card detail page for Electric Ball shows that the set contains a Tool built to support Pikachu ex in battle. We looked at the set page and card pages and found a Pikachu ex support card, not a Pikachu card. That is the one gap in the sources, and the rest of this guide is stated plainly from what the official pages do show.

If you want a Mega Dream ex card from Tokyo now, the Mega Evolution cards are the core of this set. For example, we list a PSA 10 MEGA Dragonite ex SAR [M2a 246/193], and further down you will find the other graded M2a cards currently listed on our site.

What are the key facts about Mega Dream ex (M2a)?

Mega Dream ex is the Japanese edition High Class Pack with set code M2a, released on November 28, 2025 for ¥550 tax included per pack, with 10 cards in each pack. The table below gathers the facts used in this guide, each from an official Pokémon Card Game page.

The official product page does not list how many packs come in a box, so this guide does not state a pack count per box. For box questions, our Mega Dream ex booster box buying guide covers the product side.

The Pokémon Card Game rules page for the MEGA series also lists High Class Pack “Mega Dream ex” in its expansion pack section and links to the same product page (official regulation page). That confirms the set belongs to the MEGA series. The rules page does not add a release date or product notes, so the dates and prices in this article come from the product page.

Which Pikachu ex card is in Mega Dream ex?

The official pages show Electric Ball (card 163 / 193) as the Pikachu ex card in Mega Dream ex, and it is a support item, not a Pikachu Pokémon card. The card text names Pikachu ex directly, which is why it is the right card to look at for this search.

Here is how we read the evidence. The official product page lists the new Mega Evolution cards, the Team Rocket cards, the N cards, the mirror-spec cards and the reprints, and it does not name a Pikachu card anywhere. The product page text does not mention Pikachu. The only Pikachu ex reference found on the official card pages we opened is the Electric Ball text. So if someone tells you there is a specific Pikachu ex card in the set, check it against the official card search before paying for it.

That leaves a clear recommendation for a Pikachu collector. Treat Mega Dream ex as a set where Pikachu ex appears through its support card, and buy the set for what its official page actually promises: Mega Evolution ex cards, the MA rarity, AR, SAR and mirror cards. If your goal is a Pikachu card itself, this set’s official pages do not give you one to chase.

What does the Pikachu ex Electric Ball card do?

Electric Ball is a Pokémon Tool that adds +50 damage to the attacks used by the Pikachu ex it is attached to, when those attacks hit the opponent’s Pokémon ex in the Active Spot. The official card page gives the effect in Japanese, and the English reading is straightforward.

Source for every row: the official Electric Ball card page.

Two details matter in practice. First, the bonus is tied to a specific Pokémon: the card says Pikachu ex, so it does nothing for other attackers. Second, the +50 applies to damage against Pokémon ex in the opponent’s Active Spot, so it is a damage Tool aimed at ex targets, not a general boost. That is all the official page states, and we will not add effects it does not list.

For collectors the card is also a clean example of why reading the number matters. Electric Ball is 163 / 193, within the official card list numbering of 001 to 193. Our graded listings carry numbers such as 202/193 and 240/193, so always read the full number together with the set code M2a.

Is Pikachu ex Mega Dream a set for Pikachu collectors?

A collector who wants Pikachu as the main subject should know that before buying, and a collector who likes Mega Evolution art will find the set’s actual draw.

The official product page describes the set’s identity in a few clear points:

• New rarity MA (Mega Attack Rare). The page presents it as a special illustration of a Mega Evolution Pokémon using a powerful attack, with Mega Charizard X ex, Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex given as examples.
• AR and SAR cards. The page says attractive AR and SAR cards are included but does not name them in text.
• Mirror-spec cards. These carry energy-symbol or Poké Ball patterns. Named examples on the page are Budew and Team Rocket’s Murkrow.
• New Mega Evolution cards. Mega Dragonite ex arrives with Dragonair and Dratini, Mega Eelektross ex with Eelektrik and Tynamo, and Mega Froslass ex with Snorunt.
• Other cards. N’s Zekrom, N’s Vanilluxe, N’s Vanillish, N’s Vanillite, Team Rocket’s Honchkrow and Team Rocket’s Dugtrio are named, along with a Verbena and Helena card.
• Reprints. The page says it includes reprints of cards that were strong in past events and tournaments.

Notice what is on that list for an electric-type fan: , and it is a fact of the product page rather than a claim about card synergy. Whether you use the set for play or for display, choose it for those named cards, not for a Pikachu ex card the page never lists.

How does the Pikachu ex Electric Ball fit with Mega Evolution ex cards?

Electric Ball sits in a set where Mega Evolution ex cards carry a distinct rule: when a Mega Evolution ex is knocked out, the opponent takes 3 Prize cards. That rule, shown on the official page of Mega Dragonite ex, is the main thing a player should understand about the set’s Mega Evolution Pokémon.

The official card page for Mega Dragonite ex gives the following details:

Source: official Mega Dragonite ex card page.

Put the two cards side by side and the design contrast is clear. Mega Dragonite ex is a 370 HP Stage 2 with a 330 damage attack and a 3 Prize rule. Electric Ball is a small Tool that makes a Pikachu ex hit harder against ex Pokémon. The official pages do not connect them with any stated combo, and we will not invent one. What they do show is the range of the set: big Mega Evolution ex cards on one end and support cards like Electric Ball on the other.

Which Mega Dream ex cards can I buy from Tokyo instead of a Pikachu card?

We list PSA 10 graded Mega Dream ex cards from the Japanese M2a set, and these are the Mega Evolution, AR, SAR and mirror cards that the official page promises. Each one below links to its product page. Listings change, so check the page for current availability.

Each listing describes a card graded PSA 10 (Gem Mint) by Professional Sports Authenticator. The product pages note that the PSA case may have minor scratches or marks on its surface, and that stock levels can change, so in some cases an order may take a little longer to ship. Read that line before ordering a slab for display.

Mega Evolution cards: Dragonite and Gengar

The two Mega Evolution picks are the most direct match for the set’s Mega Evolution theme. MEGA Dragonite ex appears in our list as both an MA card (232/193) and an SAR card (246/193), which lets you compare the two rarity styles on the same Pokémon. MEGA Gengar ex SAR (240/193) is the other Mega Evolution listing. Mega Dragonite ex is named by the official product page as a new Mega Evolution card, so the Dragonite listings are tied to a card the page itself names.

AR and mirror cards: Zekrom, Misdreavus, Dustox, Psyduck

N’s Zekrom is named on the official page as one of the other cards in the set, and our N’s Zekrom AR is number 210/193. Misdreavus AR (202/193) and Dustox AR (195/193) are AR cards in the 190s and 200s. The Psyduck listing is a mirror-spec card with an energy mark pattern (032/193), the same mirror style the official page describes with Budew and Team Rocket’s Murkrow as named examples. If you want to compare Psyduck across editions, we cover that in Psyduck Ascended Heroes vs Japanese MEGA Dream ex AR.

How do I find a Pikachu ex card or Electric Ball by number?

Search by set code and card number: M2a plus 163 / 193 finds Electric Ball, and the same method works for any card in the set. The set code and number together identify a Japanese card without relying on a translated name.

Follow these steps when you hunt for a specific card:

1. Start from the official card search. The Pokémon Card Game site shows the set name, set code and number on every card page, as on the Electric Ball page.
2. Write down the set code M2a and the number. Cards print as number over 193, for example 163 / 193.
3. Match the name in Japanese edition. Names such as Electric Ball and Mega Dragonite ex are English names for Japanese-edition cards, so use the number to confirm you are looking at the same card.
4. Check the rarity icon. The official pages show rarity as an icon. For Mega Dragonite ex the page shows it only through an icon, and for Electric Ball the rarity is not stated on the page.
5. Confirm the product page before paying. For graded cards, read the product title: it carries the card name, rarity, number and the set name in one line.

If you want the broader card inventory of the set, our Mega Dream ex (M2a) card list article and the M2A complete guide go through the set beyond the Pikachu ex link.

Should I buy a Mega Dream ex box or single cards?

Buy single graded cards if you want a specific card, and consider a box only if you want the pack-opening experience. A pack costs ¥550 at the official price and holds 10 cards randomly inserted, so no single pack is a way to target one card.

That follows from the official facts. Cards are randomly inserted in each pack, and the official page does not publish a pack count per box, so we do not give one. The set also carries an MA rarity, AR and SAR cards, and mirror cards, When your goal is a named card such as MEGA Gengar ex SAR 240/193, a PSA 10 single removes the guesswork.

Mega Evolution-Ascended Heroes is the English set released January 30, 2026, with over 290 cards, and its official page places Mega Dragonite ex on the banner (official page). It is a separate product from the Japanese Mega Dream ex, so do not mix the two when you search by name. Our Ascended Heroes ex boxes vs Japanese Mega Dream ex article lays out the differences.

How does shipping and payment work for M2a cards?

We ship from Tokyo by FedEx with a tracking number, and most orders are processed and shipped within 5 business days after PayPal or Wise payment has cleared. The details below come from our shipping and payment pages.

Source: Shipping Policy.

Transit estimates do not include our handling time, customs processing, weekends, Japanese national holidays or carrier congestion. After an order is handed to FedEx, delivery timing is controlled by the carrier and destination-country authorities.

For graded cards, the policy adds one point. PSA graded cards may also be offered through our other sales channels, so an item shown online can already be sold before the allocation for your order is locked. Once your payment has cleared, we secure the PSA graded card matching your order, even if additional sourcing is required, and dispatch may take longer in that case. The order status and tracking are available in your customer account.

Source: Metodi di pagamento. All payments are made in Japanese yen, and any difference on your statement from exchange rates or conversion fees is set by your payment provider. If you pay Wise by SWIFT, the page notes a JPY 611 receiving fee, so add JPY 611 to the order total.

Who should pick which Mega Dream ex card?

Pick by what you want to own: a Mega Evolution card, an AR card, a mirror card or a playable support card. Here is the short recommendation for each type of collector.

• You want a Mega Evolution card: choose a Mega Dragonite ex, either the MA 232/193 or the SAR 246/193, because Mega Dragonite ex is named as a new Mega Evolution card on the official page. For a closer look at one specific card from the set, see Entei 020/193 or Surfer SAR 249/193.
• You want a second Mega Evolution SAR: MEGA Gengar ex SAR 240/193 is the other Mega Evolution SAR in our list.
• You like the N cards: N’s Zekrom AR 210/193 is one of the N cards the official page names.
• You want an AR card: Misdreavus AR 202/193 and Dustox AR 195/193 are AR listings we carry, alongside N’s Zekrom AR.
• You play Pikachu ex: look up Electric Ball 163 / 193 on the official card search and confirm it fits your deck before buying.
