Every Regular Entei Pokemon Card Print 2023–2026 (SV3, SV4a, SVJL, M2a)

Every Regular Entei Pokemon Card Print 2023–2026 (SV3, SV4a, SVJL, M2a)

Entei Pokemon cards from the recent Japanese sets come down to four regular prints: エンテイ SV3 016/108, SV4a 028/190, SVJL 005/021 and M2a 020/193. “Regular” here means the plain Basic Pokémon card numbered inside its set count — no V, GX, EX or ex in the name, no special rule text in the official database entry, and no secret-numbered print. This guide puts the four side by side, with the official card image, the illustrator credit, the HP and a plain-English rendering of the printed text for each.

Three of the four look almost identical on paper: same HP, same ability, same attack, same illustrator. What separates them is the set code and the number in the corner, so most of this guide is about telling them apart quickly. We sell Japanese sealed boxes and PSA 10 singles from Tokyo; USD figures convert at ¥154/USD and are approximate.

Key Takeaways
  • The official database lists four regular Entei prints in this range: SV3 016/108, SV4a 028/190, SVJL 005/021 (all HP 130, all illustrated by toriyufu) and M2a 020/193 (HP 140, Kazumasa Yasukuni).
  • The three toriyufu prints carry the same ability and attack text, so the set code and number are the only reliable way to separate them.
  • The M2a card is the odd one out: no ability, a different attack, and a different illustrator. It comes from MEGA Dream ex (M2a), a set we have a listing page for.
  • The official database does not print rarity letters, so this guide does not assign any to these four cards.

The Four Regular Entei Prints at a Glance

Every row below comes from the official Pokémon Card Game card database on pokemon-card.com, read on October 29, 2026. Each entry is listed under the Pokédex number No.244 with the category line かざんポケモン (rendering: “Volcano Pokémon”).

Setcode Number Illustrator HP Ability Attack Database ID
SV3 016/108 toriyufu 130 プレッシャー ブレイズボール 60+ 43858
SV4a 028/190 toriyufu 130 プレッシャー ブレイズボール 60+ 44551
SVJL 005/021 toriyufu 130 プレッシャー ブレイズボール 60+ 45805
M2a 020/193 Kazumasa Yasukuni 140 None フレアフォール 30+ 48542

The database ID is the number at the end of each card’s detail page address, which makes it a handy way to confirm you are looking at the exact entry. This guide uses the set codes; the only set name it gives is the one our listings name: M2a is the High Class Pack “MEGA Dream ex”, released Friday, November 28, 2025.

For the wider family — the V, GX, EX and LEGEND cards and the other prints in the database — see our Entei cards checklist, our Entei Pokemon card guide and the legendary beasts value guide.

Entei SV3 016/108

Entei SV3 016/108 illustrated by toriyufu
エンテイ — SV3 016/108 — illustrated by toriyufu (official card database image)

SV3 016/108 is a Basic Pokémon with 130 HP, credited to the illustrator toriyufu. The number over the denominator is 016 of 108, so it sits inside the printed set count rather than above it.

The printed text, rendered into English from the Japanese (rendering):

  • Ability プレッシャー (“Pressure”) — while this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, the damage of the attacks used by the opponent’s Active Pokémon is reduced by 20.
  • Attack ブレイズボール (“Blaze Ball”) — 60 damage, plus 20 more damage for each Energy attached to this Pokémon.

Put together, the card rewards a deck that attaches several Energy to Entei while the ability trims 20 off the opponent’s attacks. That is a description of what the printed text does, not a claim about how it performs in play; this guide makes no deck or tournament recommendation.

The official database does not print a rarity letter for this entry, and we have no store listing for it, so no rarity is stated here.

Entei SV4a 028/190

Entei SV4a 028/190 illustrated by toriyufu
エンテイ — SV4a 028/190 — illustrated by toriyufu (official card database image)

SV4a 028/190 repeats the SV3 card in every field the database prints: Basic, 130 HP, illustrator toriyufu, the same ability and the same attack. Rendered from the Japanese (rendering):

  • Ability プレッシャー (“Pressure”) — while this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, the opponent’s Active Pokémon’s attacks do 20 less damage.
  • Attack ブレイズボール (“Blaze Ball”) — 60 damage, plus 20 more for each Energy attached to this Pokémon.

SV4a is the set that also holds a second Entei entry, numbered 213/190, covered in a separate section below. The 190 in the denominator is the main-set count, and the 028 entry is the one inside it.

Because the text and the illustrator match the SV3 card, the two are told apart by the set code and the number alone. If you are matching a card to a listing, read the corner of the card first, not the artwork.

Entei SVJL 005/021

Entei SVJL 005/021 illustrated by toriyufu
エンテイ — SVJL 005/021 — illustrated by toriyufu (official card database image)

SVJL 005/021 is the third toriyufu print. The 021 in its denominator is a much smaller count than the 108 or 190 of the other two, which is a quick visual cue: a card marked “/021” is this one. The database gives the same 130 HP, the same ability プレッシャー and the same attack ブレイズボール (rendering: the ability lowers the opponent’s Active Pokémon’s attack damage by 20; the attack does 60 plus 20 per attached Energy).

Our sources do not give a set name or a release date for SVJL, so this guide does not either. If you need the product behind the code, the card’s detail page on pokemon-card.com (database ID 45805) is the place to confirm it.

A Sealed Box Option

Sealed boxes are the other way into a set’s cards. A box does not let you choose a card, so it suits collectors who enjoy opening product rather than buyers chasing one specific print. This guide makes no statement about what a box contains beyond the set’s card list.

This is a Storm Emeralda (M6) box, not a box from the sets of the four Entei prints; it is shown only as a sealed option. The set that holds the M2a Entei, MEGA Dream ex, has its own box, covered in the next section.

Entei M2a 020/193 (MEGA Dream ex)

Entei M2a 020/193 illustrated by Kazumasa Yasukuni
エンテイ — M2a 020/193 — illustrated by Kazumasa Yasukuni (official card database image)

M2a 020/193 breaks the pattern. It has 140 HP, a different illustrator — Kazumasa Yasukuni — and no ability at all. Its single printed attack is フレアフォール (“Flare Fall”, rendering): 30 damage, and if you have 4 or more Energy in play, 90 more damage. That is 120 damage in total when the condition is met, according to the printed numbers.

It comes from the High Class Pack “MEGA Dream ex” (M2a), released Friday, November 28, 2025. The set has 193 cards in its main count, which is why the first number reads 020/193. Our M2a card list is the listing page for the set, and the sealed product for it is the M2A-Mega Dream ex Japanese Pokemon Booster Box, currently listed at Sealed ¥12,368 (~$80) / No Shrink ¥11,565 (~$75).

A dedicated card guide for this print is in our Entei 020/193 guide.

What the Numbers in the Corner Mean

A Japanese card number has two halves. The figure before the slash is the card’s position; the figure after it is the set’s main count. For the four prints here the denominators are 108 (SV3), 190 (SV4a), 021 (SVJL) and 193 (M2a), and in each case the first number is lower than the denominator, which places the card inside the main set.

Print Position Main count Reading
SV3 016 108 Inside the main set
SV4a 028 190 Inside the main set
SVJL 005 021 Inside a small 21-card count
M2a 020 193 Inside the main set
SV4a (neighbour) 213 190 Above the count: a secret-numbered print

A number that runs above its denominator, as the SV4a 213/190 does, is the database’s signal for a secret-numbered print. It tells you the card is outside the main count; it does not tell you the rarity letter, which the database leaves blank. When a seller names a rarity for any Entei, treat that as the seller’s label and check the number and illustrator against the official entry.

The practical use is simple. Before you order or list a card, write down three things from the corner and the credit line: the set code, the number with its denominator, and the illustrator. For the four prints in this guide that triple is unique, even when the card text is not.

How to Tell the Four Apart

Three checks, in order, separate every card in this guide.

What the card shows Print it points to
Number ends “/108” SV3 016/108, toriyufu, HP 130
Number ends “/190” and starts 028 SV4a 028/190, toriyufu, HP 130
Number ends “/021” SVJL 005/021, toriyufu, HP 130
Number ends “/193” M2a 020/193, Kazumasa Yasukuni, HP 140
HP 140 and no ability M2a 020/193
Number over the denominator, such as 213/190 Not one of these four; see the next section

The first check is the number, because it is printed on the card and cannot be confused. The second is HP: 140 points only at the M2a card. The third is the ability: only the M2a card lacks one. Everything else — the HP of 130, the Pressure ability, the Blaze Ball attack — is shared across the three toriyufu prints and does not help you choose between them.

The table below sets out what the official database does and does not tell you, so you know which questions need a second source.

Question Answer in the official database
Illustrator Printed for all four
HP and attack text Printed for all four
Rarity letter Not printed; not stated in our sources
Set name for SV3, SV4a and SVJL Not stated in our sources; use the set code
Market value Not applicable; our own prices are on the product pages

Pressure and Blaze Ball Versus Flare Fall

Setting the two text blocks next to each other shows what changes between the toriyufu cards and the M2a card. Both are renderings of the Japanese text, not official English wording.

Field SV3, SV4a, SVJL (toriyufu) M2a 020/193 (Kazumasa Yasukuni)
HP 130 140
Ability プレッシャー: while in the Active Spot, the opponent’s Active Pokémon’s attacks do 20 less damage None
Attack ブレイズボール: 60, plus 20 per Energy attached to this Pokémon フレアフォール: 30, plus 90 more if you have 4 or more Energy in play
What it counts Energy on Entei itself Energy in play on your side

Both attacks scale with Energy, but they count it differently. Blaze Ball counts only the Energy attached to Entei, so every attachment adds 20. Flare Fall counts the Energy you have in play and switches on a single 90-point bonus at four. Neither description is a play recommendation; it is simply what the printed text says, which is useful when you are working out which print a deck list or a listing refers to.

The shared Pressure ability applies only while Entei is in the Active Spot and only to the opponent’s Active Pokémon. We do not extend it beyond what is printed.

The Neighbour Print: SV4a 213/190

SV4a contains a second Entei entry, 213/190, credited to Ryuta Fuse. Its number sits above the printed set count of 190, the pattern the database uses for secret-numbered prints, and its card text matches the SV4a 028/190 card: 130 HP, the プレッシャー ability and the ブレイズボール attack. The database does not print its rarity letter, so we describe it as the secret-numbered print and leave the letter to the sources that publish one.

That makes it a different artwork of the same card text, which is why it is not counted among the four regular prints here. Our separate Entei 213/190 guide covers it in full.

Why Entei Is in the News

On October 29, 2026 fan sites reported a Japanese trademark filing for 「マグマの鼓動」, which collectors read as a possible Entei set; nothing is announced. Our Magma Heartbeat trademark article (working English translation of マグマの鼓動; no official English name exists) explains what is confirmed and what is not, and the round-up of the 2027 trademark reports covers all four names together.

Veelgestelde vragen

Which regular Entei prints does this guide cover?

Four: SV3 016/108, SV4a 028/190 and SVJL 005/021 (HP 130, all illustrated by toriyufu), and M2a 020/193 (HP 140, illustrated by Kazumasa Yasukuni). All four are plain Basic Pokémon in the official database, with no V, GX, EX or ex in the name.

How do I tell SV3 016/108, SV4a 028/190 and SVJL 005/021 apart?

By the set code and the number printed in the corner. The three share the same HP of 130, the same illustrator, the same Pressure-style ability and the same Blaze Ball-style attack, so the text does not separate them; read the set code and number, and compare the official images.

What does Entei M2a 020/193 do?

It has 140 HP and no ability. Its one printed attack is フレアフォール (rendering: “Flare Fall”): 30 damage, plus 90 more if you have 4 or more Energy in play. It is illustrated by Kazumasa Yasukuni and comes from the High Class Pack “MEGA Dream ex”.

Is Entei SV4a 213/190 one of the four regular prints?

No. It is a second Entei entry in SV4a, credited to Ryuta Fuse, numbered above the printed set count of 190. Its card text matches SV4a 028/190, but the database does not print its rarity letter.

What rarity are these four Entei cards?

The official database does not print rarity letters, and our sources do not state one for these four prints, so this guide gives none. Match a card by its set code, number and illustrator instead.

Do you list these four Entei prints?

Not currently. We list other Entei cards, including a PSA 10 of the XY 011/171 print, and sourcing requests for a specific card go through Quick Order. The product page of any listing shows the current terms.
