Entei Gold Star is the name collectors use for the 2005 star print of エンテイ (Entei) from the Japanese expansion pack “Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean” (PCG4), which our guides number 019/106. It is one of three Gold Star legendary-beast cards printed that year, and it is the card behind one of the highest-priced listings in our Entei lineup: a PSA 10 copy is offered as a back order at ¥2,570,400 (~$16,691) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms.
This guide sets out what our own fact-checked articles state about the card, what the listing name “1ED [PCG4 019/106]” tells you, and what is not established. No official card image is available to us for this print, so the pictures below show other Entei cards from other eras, labelled as such. Figures are as of October 29, 2026; USD figures convert at ¥154/USD, approximate.

- The Gold Star trio of 2005 is Entei, Raikou and Suicune; the Japanese numbers are 019/106, 039/106 and 032/106, all HP 80, illustrated by Masakazu Fukuda.
- Our PSA 10 listing “Entei: 1ED [PCG4 019/106]” matches the Gold Star Entei by number and set name; it is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥2,570,400 (~$16,691) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms.
- The Japanese set “Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean” was released on Friday, April 8, 2005; the English counterpart, EX Unseen Forces, followed on Monday, August 22, 2005.
- Rarity symbol, print run and population are not stated in our sources, so this guide does not state them.
What Entei Gold Star Is
Entei is one of the three beasts that came out of the Burned Tower story in Pokémon Gold & Silver (1999): after lightning struck the Brass Tower, Ho-Oh revived three unnamed Pokémon, and the Burned Tower links fire, lightning and rain to Entei, Raikou and Suicune. Our legendary beasts card guide follows them through every era.
The Gold Star print belongs to 2005. In our guide it is described as one of the “collector targets two decades on”. The English version of the three-card group appears in EX Unseen Forces, where Entei is numbered 113/115. The Japanese version appears in the expansion pack “Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean”, which our site also writes as “Gold Sky Silver Sea”. The Japanese number used by this guide and by our listing is 019/106.
Because the Japanese name of the set is not given in Japanese script in our sources, this guide uses the English rendering “Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean” exactly as our store listing writes it. The card name is エンテイ.
Card Facts We Can Source
Pre-2007 cards are not in the official Japanese card database, so the facts below come from our own earlier articles rather than from a database row. Where a fact is not stated, the table says so instead of filling the gap.
| Field | What our sources state |
|---|---|
| Kaart | エンテイ (Entei), Gold Star print |
| Japanese set | Expansion Pack “Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean” (PCG4) |
| Japanese number | 019/106 |
| English counterpart | EX Unseen Forces, 113/115 (released Monday, August 22, 2005) |
| HP | 80 |
| Illustrator | Masakazu Fukuda |
| Japanese release | Friday, April 8, 2005 |
| Rarity symbol on the Japanese card | Not stated in our sources |
| Print run, population, card text | Not stated in our sources |
One caution on the numbers: our legendary beasts guide mixes English-set numbering and Japanese numbering, so 113/115 is the English EX Unseen Forces number and 019/106 is the Japanese one. When you compare a graded slab with a listing, check which numbering the label uses.
The 2005 Gold Star Trio
The three beasts were printed as a group, each with HP 80 and each credited to Masakazu Fukuda.
| Pokémon | English number (EX Unseen Forces) | Japanese number (Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean) | HP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entei | 113/115 | 019/106 | 80 |
| Raikou | 114/115 | 039/106 | 80 |
| Suicune | 115/115 | 032/106 | 80 |
The English numbers run consecutively at the end of the set, 113, 114 and 115 of 115. The Japanese numbers are not consecutive: Entei is 019, Suicune 032 and Raikou 039. The three cards therefore sit in different places in the Japanese set, and a collector assembling the group has to look for each number separately.
The same three beasts also appear together on other cards, such as the HGSS LEGEND pairs of 2010; our LEGEND cards guide explains that format.
Reading the Listing Name: 1ED, PCG4 and 019/106
Our listing for this card is titled PSA10 Entei: 1ED [PCG4 019/106] (Expansion Pack “Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean”). Each part of the title carries information.
- PSA10 — the card is offered in PSA grade 10.
- 1ED — the abbreviation we use for a first-edition print; our articles also write it out as “1st Edition” (the e4 039/088 Raikou).
- PCG4 — the set code within the PCG-naming series that ran roughly from 2003 to 2006 (the ADV era began on Friday, January 31, 2003).
- 019/106 — the Japanese number, which is the same number as the Gold Star Entei in our legendary beasts guide.
The link between the listing and the term “Gold Star” is made by number and set name only. Our legendary beasts guide is the only article that uses the words Gold Star; the listing itself does not print them. We therefore describe the listing as “the 019/106 print our listing carries” and do not assert a rarity symbol that our sources do not show.
A second listing, PSA10 Entei: Resale [PCG4 019/106], carries no price on October 29, 2026. Sourcing requests for that variant go through Snel bestellen.
Note that 1ED has nothing to do with the Old Back era. An Old Back card never carries a 1ED stamp; the Old Back card back ended with Pokémon VS on Thursday, July 19, 2001, years before PCG4. The two ideas are often confused when people search for “first edition Entei”, and our Old Back guide lays out the card-back marks.

Where PCG4 Sits in the Timeline
Entei has been printed in Japan across more than two decades, and the Gold Star sits in the middle of the story. The dated steps in our sources are these.
| Datum | Gebeurtenis |
|---|---|
| Thursday, November 23, 2000 | Neo Revelation, Japanese name Awakening Legends, debuts the three beasts; Premium File 3 is released the same day |
| Thursday, July 19, 2001 | Pokémon VS ends the Old Back card back |
| Saturday, December 1, 2001 | Card e Reader and the e1 set launch in Japan |
| Friday, January 31, 2003 | The ADV era begins |
| Friday, April 8, 2005 | Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean (PCG4) is released in Japan |
| Monday, August 22, 2005 | EX Unseen Forces, the English home of the Gold Star trio |
| Thursday, February 11, 2010 | Reviving Legends, the Japanese set of the beast LEGEND pairs |
The Neo Revelation debut gave the three beasts a single shared illustrated scene, all drawn by Ken Sugimori. The Gold Star is the later card where each beast gets its own HP 80 print under a different illustrator, Masakazu Fukuda. Our e-Series guide covers the dot-code sets between the two.
Two other Entei cards from the same stretch of years are listed by us as PSA 10 back orders. The PokePark Premium File “Blue Sheet” card, PCG 001/009, is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥239,200 (~$1,553) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms; its year, rarity and illustrator are not stated in our sources. The Old Back LV.24 card from Premium File 3, PRMF-3 No.244, is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥66,340 (~$431) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms.

Other Entei Eras for Comparison
If the Gold Star is out of reach, the official Japanese database lists many later Entei prints, each with a number, a set and an illustrator. These are some of the milestones, with the details exactly as the database prints them.
| Kaart | Illustrator | HP | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| エンテイEX BW4-B 009/069 | shizurow | 180 | Dark Rush; the upper-case EX rule box |
| エンテイ XY 011/171 | Mitsuhiro Arita | 130 | Our visible PSA 10 listing, below |
| エンテイGX SM3p 011/072 | 5ban Graphics | 180 | GX era; a second print is numbered 073/072 |
| エンテイV S12a 213/172 | Shigenori Negishi | 230 | Numbered above the set count; see our Entei V PSA 10 guide |
| エンテイ M2a 020/193 | Kazumasa Yasukuni | 140 | A regular Basic Entei, not an ex card |
None of these is the Gold Star, and the database does not hold the Gold Star at all. A reasonable way to use the list is to decide first whether the 2005 card is the target, or whether you are collecting Entei as a character across eras. For the latter, the Entei cards guide walks through the Japanese prints in more detail.
There is also a lower-case ex question. Our legendary beasts guide records an “Entei ex” from the PCG-era EX sets (English EX Team Magma vs Team Aqua #91/95, Japanese Magma Deck Kit #001/033) and a Rocket’s Entei ex (English EX Team Rocket Returns #97/109, Japanese Rocket Gang Strikes Back #068/084). These are separate cards from the Gold Star; the official database holds none of them, and no lower-case Entei ex exists in the 2023–2026 database entries.

PSA 10 and What to Check Before Buying
PSA 10 is the grade named in the listing title. For a card like this, three checks are within any buyer’s reach without inventing numbers about the market.
- The number on the label. It should read 019/106 for the Japanese card. A label that reads 113/115 belongs to the English EX Unseen Forces card.
- The set name. “Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean” is the Japanese expansion; check that the label does not name another set.
- The listing page. The product page shows the current terms for a back order, including what sourcing to order means for that item.
We do not state a population count, a sale price or a forecast for this card, because none is in our sources. The figure that is stated is our own back-order price on the product page. If you need something sourced that we do not list, the Snel bestellen page takes sourcing requests for a specific card.

Anything outside the left-hand column is a question for the product page or for PSA’s own records, not for this guide.
The October 29, 2026 Trademark Report
On October 29, 2026 fan sites reported a Japanese trademark filing for 「マグマの鼓動」, which collectors read as a possible Entei set; nothing is announced. Our Magma Heartbeat trademark article (working English translation of マグマの鼓動; no official English name exists) explains what is confirmed and what is not, and the round-up of the 2027 trademarks and the ex★ series sets the four names side by side. For an Entei card that already exists in the Japanese database, see our comparison of the Entei V SAR, Entei V GG36 against the Japanese 213/172.

It is the 2005 star print of Entei in the Japanese expansion pack “Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean” (PCG4), numbered 019/106, HP 80, illustrated by Masakazu Fukuda, per our legendary beasts guide.
What does 1ED mean in the listing name?
1ED is our abbreviation for a first-edition print. It is unrelated to the Old Back era, because an Old Back card never carries a 1ED stamp.

No. The listing reads PSA10 Entei: 1ED [PCG4 019/106]. It matches the Gold Star Entei by number and set name, and we do not assert a rarity symbol beyond that.
What is the English version of the Gold Star Entei?
Our legendary beasts guide lists it as Entei 113/115 in EX Unseen Forces, released on Monday, August 22, 2005, with Raikou 114/115 and Suicune 115/115.
Is the Gold Star Entei in the official Japanese card database?

A PSA 10 copy is offered as a back order at ¥2,570,400 (~$16,691), sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms.
