The official page describes the set as 全28種類 — 28 kinds of card; the official database carries 25 numbered entries, 001/028 through 025/028, plus 8 basic Energy prints with no number on their pages. Each pack cost ¥297 tax included and held 5 holo cards, one of them a basic Energy card.
Card 017/028, the last of four consecutive cards tracing the Alola region’s Cosmog line, is Lunala — and it’s one of the cards the official product page calls out by name. Lunala 017/028 is a Psychic-type Stage 2 Pokémon with 160 HP, illustrated by kirisAki, evolving from Cosmoem at 015/028. It has two attacks: Lunatic Pain, which doubles damage counters already on opposing Pokémon, and Psyche Bullet, a 130-damage attack that also hits the Bench. This single card isn’t listed on our site at the moment, but our S8A-25th Anniversary Collection Booster Box is currently listed at ¥67,200 (~$436) (September 17, 2026).
25th ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION and Card 017/028
The official product page states the set’s finish once, for all 28 kinds of card at once, verbatim: 「カードはすべてキラカード。全28種類のカードから、ランダムで5枚のカードを封入。」 — our rendering: every card is a holo card, with 5 cards inserted at random from the 28 kinds in the set. Lunala sits at 017/028, the highest-numbered card in the set’s four-card Alola evolution run and one of the cards the official product page names directly — alongside Lugia, Groudon, Dialga, Reshiram, Xerneas and Zacian V.
The official page does not state how many packs make up a booster box, and the database prints no per-card finish note beyond the set-wide line above.
The same page announced a companion product for October 22, 2021: the 25th ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION スペシャルセット at ¥1,188 tax included, released the same day through convenience stores. The 25th ANNIVERSARY GOLDEN BOX (official MSRP ¥17,600, tax included) was announced on the same page but did not release on that date — its October 22 date was cancelled on October 4, 2021, and it was sold instead by Pokémon Center Online lottery from October 4, 2021, with shipping around winter 2021.

The database’s Pokédex panel reads (verbatim JP): 「No.792 がちりんポケモン / 高さ：4.0 m 重さ：120.0 kg / 異世界に 通じる 穴 から 未知の 力や 生命を この 世界に 呼び寄せることも ある。」 — our rendering: National Pokédex No. 792, the Moone Pokémon, height 4.0 m, weight 120.0 kg; it can summon unknown power and life into this world through a hole leading to another dimension.
Lunala’s first attack, [Colorless][Colorless] “Lunatic Pain” (our rendering of ルナティックペイン), reads verbatim: 「相手のポケモン全員に、それぞれのっているダメカンの数が2倍になるように、ダメカンをのせる。」 — our rendering: put damage counters on each of your opponent’s Pokémon so that the number of damage counters on it is doubled. Its second attack, [Psychic][Colorless][Colorless] “Psyche Bullet” (our rendering of サイコバレット), does 130 damage and reads verbatim: 「相手のベンチポケモン1匹にも、30ダメージ。［ベンチは弱点・抵抗力を計算しない。］」 — our rendering: this attack also does 30 damage to 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokémon (don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon).
Lunatic Pain prints no damage figure of its own; what it does is double whatever damage counters an opponent’s Pokémon already carries, which means it does nothing to an untouched Pokémon. Psyche Bullet is the conventional option: 130 damage to the Active Pokémon plus 30 to one Benched Pokémon, without Weakness or Resistance applied on the Bench.
The Alola Legendary Line in This Set
The database’s own evolution panel for Lunala lists, top to bottom: 「ソルガレオGX / ルナアーラGX || ルナアーラ / ソルガレオ || コスモウム || コスモッグ」 — the same panel text printed on Solgaleo’s own page, confirming both Stage 2 forms share the same chain back down to Cosmog. Cosmog at 014/028 evolves into Cosmoem at 015/028, which can then become either Solgaleo at 016/028 or this card, Lunala, at 017/028.
All four cards in this line are illustrated by kirisAki. At 160 HP, Lunala runs slightly lower than Solgaleo’s 170, though both Stage 2 forms share the same retreat cost of two Colorless energy. Lunala’s Weakness to Darkness and Resistance to Fighting differ from Solgaleo’s Weakness to Fire and Resistance to Grass — each Stage 2 form keeps the typing set by its own printed type. Lunala Beyond S8a
Lunala is not among the 25 cards in the official S8a-P promo pack checklist, which reproduces cards dated from 1996 through 2017 rather than anything from this set’s own line.
The Golden Box doesn’t help either: its S8a-G subset is 16 database entries built around Pikachu — Pikachu V, Pikachu, Raichu, Pikachu VMAX, Item cards, Supporters and a Basic Lightning Energy — with no Lunala among them.
