Lightning Impact Pokemon (イナズマの衝撃, a working English translation; no official English name exists) is one of four Japanese trademark applications reported on October 29, 2026 by fan sites (premium.gamepedia.jp, PokeGuardian, PokeBeach). Not announced by The Pokémon Company. When we searched J-PlatPat, the Japan Patent Office database, on October 29, 2026, the filings had not yet appeared; the March 2026 Hadou Seeker filing (商願2026-021914, filed March 2, 2026) is visible and still shows as a pending application.
Collectors are reading the name as a pointer to Raikou, the lightning member of the legendary beast trio. That reading is a community reading, strengthened by the three Pokémon appearing in the official ex★ video of August 31, 2026 — not confirmed by The Pokémon Company. Raikou has one extra link to the official side: the official @Pokemon_cojp account singled out 「ライコウたち」 in its post about that video. That wording still names no product.
If the reading is right, Raikou collectors would compare any new Raikou with the Raikou prints that already exist, so the middle of this article benchmarks against verified Japanese prints. We list Japanese boxes and graded singles from Tokyo; none of the four names is a product yet, so there is nothing to list. The other marks are covered in the round-up of all four trademarks.
- Reported: イナズマの衝撃 is one of four marks reported on October 29, 2026; the product type, set code, price and date are all unknown.
- Official: ex★ is a series logo shown on August 31, 2026, and the official post about the video points at 「ライコウたち」. No product, date, price or set code is announced.
- Speculation: the Raikou link to this trademark is a community reading. The Hadou Seeker mark was filed on March 2, 2026 and its set is dated Friday, November 27, 2026.
- Timing: the eight verified precedents ran from about five to thirteen months, which projects to spring to summer 2027 from an October 29, 2026 report.
Facts are as of October 29, 2026. English names are working translations. USD figures convert at ¥154/USD, approximate.

What Was Reported on October 29, 2026
premium.gamepedia.jp published a report dated Thursday, October 29, 2026 naming four marks and the three applicant companies: 任天堂株式会社, 株式会社クリーチャーズ and 株式会社ゲームフリーク. PokeGuardian published its own report on October 29, 2026 (00:23) and describes the marks as registered in Class 28, “games, toys and playthings.” PokeBeach reported the three pack-style names. Neither premium.gamepedia.jp nor PokeGuardian gives an application number or a filing date.
| Japanese mark | Romanization | Working English translation (unofficial) | Reported by |
|---|---|---|---|
| マグマの鼓動 | Maguma no Kodō | Magma Heartbeat (PokeBeach) / “The Pulse of Magma” (PokeGuardian) | premium.gamepedia.jp, PokeGuardian, PokeBeach |
| イナズマの衝撃 | Inazuma no Shōgeki | Lightning Impact (PokeBeach) / “The Impact of Lightning” (PokeGuardian) | same three outlets |
| オーロラの波紋 | Ōrora no Hamon | Aurora Ripples (PokeBeach) / “The Ripples of the Aurora” (PokeGuardian) | same three outlets |
| バトルスタートデッキ | Batoru Sutāto Dekki | Battle Start Deck | premium.gamepedia.jp, PokeGuardian |
The headline of the premium.gamepedia.jp piece says the names were 商標登録 (registered as trademarks), and PokeGuardian uses the word “registered.” Our own wording is narrower: these are trademark filings reported on October 29, 2026. The next section explains why.
衝撃 means impact or shock, which is why PokeBeach writes “Lightning Impact” and PokeGuardian writes “The Impact of Lightning.” Both are renderings by outlets, not an announced English name. The class is reported as Class 28; the class of the four new marks is not something we could verify ourselves, so treat it as the outlets‘ statement, consistent with the class used for earlier set-name filings.
PokeBeach’s reading is that the three pack-style names “obviously reference Entei, Suicune, and Raikou” and will headline the upcoming ex★ series. That is the outlet’s inference. premium.gamepedia.jp speculates along the same lines and adds guesses of its own: first ex★ packs in 2027, a possible simultaneous release of three packs, and Battle Start Deck as beginner decks. Those are their guesses, listed here so you can weigh them; they are not findings.
What a Japanese Trademark Filing Does and Does Not Tell You
On October 29, 2026 we looked up the four names in J-PlatPat (商標検索, the application and registration information view), with the Hadou Seeker mark as a comparison.
| Search term | What the database showed on October 29, 2026 |
|---|---|
| イナズマの衝撃 (within the combined four-name search) | No entry visible |
| All four names together | No entry visible |
| ハドウシーカー (comparison) | 商願2026-021914, standard-character mark, Class 28, applicant 任天堂株式会社 他 (and others), filed March 2, 2026, no registration date, status 係属-出願-審査待ち (pending, awaiting examination) |
Two readings follow, and both are ours. First, the four names had not yet appeared on that date. J-PlatPat indexes new applications with a lag of days to weeks, so their absence is not evidence against the reports. Second, the Hadou Seeker mark is the useful comparison: it was filed on March 2, 2026, fan sites reported it on March 10, 2026, and it is still an unregistered pending application, even though the product itself has an official release date of Friday, November 27, 2026 (official product page). A fan-site headline that says 商標登録 therefore usually reflects a newly visible application, not a granted registration.
What the filing does tell you
- The companies behind the Pokémon TCG applied for a name, reported as Class 28 (games and toys).
- In the comparable Hadou Seeker record the applicant line reads 任天堂株式会社 他, consistent with the joint Nintendo, Creatures and Game Freak pattern the outlets describe for the new marks.
- Earlier set names have appeared as filings months before the products went on sale (see the precedents table below).
What it does not tell you
- Whether イナズマの衝撃 is an expansion pack, a high-class pack or a deck.
- Which Pokémon are on the cards, how many cards there are, and what the price is.
- Which month it releases, or whether it is part of ex★.
- Whether any English-language release exists.
The ex★ logo and the trademark reports are two separate pieces of news. No official statement links them.
Why Collectors Read “Lightning” as Raikou
The reading rests on the words and the video. Lightning (イナズマ) suggests the lightning type, and Raikou is the lightning member of the Entei, Raikou and Suicune trio; magma and aurora then map to Entei and Suicune. That mapping is a community reading of the three names. What strengthens it is the official ex★ video of August 31, 2026.
The official facts are short. On Monday, August 31, 2026, pokemon-card.com published a news entry saying that a new series logo drawn as 「ex★(イーエックススター)」 had appeared in the Pokémon TCG video played at the closing ceremony of the Pokémon World Championships 2026 in San Francisco. The entry names one card, メガルカリオZex, and asks readers to wait for further news. GAME Watch (August 31, 2026) reports that the video also showed Suicune, Entei and Raikou and several MA cards, and Dengeki Online reports that the three appeared at the end of the video as the ex★ logo was revealed.
For Raikou, the official side goes one step further. The @Pokemon_cojp post of August 31, 2026 says to note 「ライコウたち」 (Raikou and the others) who appeared together with the ex★ logo. It is the strongest official pointer to the three Pokémon in the video, and Raikou is the one it names. It does not say that any product, set or trademark is involved.
The official video itself:
Our ex★ announcement article covers the video card by card. The MA rarity shown in it is an existing official rarity introduced with MEGA Dream ex (Friday, November 28, 2025); the ex★ video showed four new MA cards, so the rarity was not created for ex★.
The naming precedent: Legendary Heartbeat
As with 伝説の鼓動, fan translations of a Japanese set name circulate before any official English name exists. The 2020 expansion 伝説の鼓動 (S3a) is called “Legendary Heartbeat” in English fan coverage, PokeBeach used that name in 2020, and Bulbapedia notes that no official English name exists for it. “Lightning Impact” follows the same convention, which is why we call it a working translation. A Raikou card (015/076) belongs to that 2020 set, as the table below shows.
Nothing official says that イナズマの衝撃 will feature Raikou. If the reading is right, the question for Raikou collectors is how a new Raikou would compare with the prints that already exist. That is the next section.
Raikou’s Recent Japanese Prints to Benchmark Against
These are the Raikou prints we have verified, taken from the official card database and from our own listings. The list is not claimed to be exhaustive. A recent Raikou print is the Storm Emeralda card, from the set released on Friday, July 31, 2026 (official product page).

| Karte | Set and number | Detail | Our store |
|---|---|---|---|
| ライコウex | ストームエメラルダ (M6) 024/076, Friday, July 31, 2026 | RR, HP200, illustrated by aky CG Works; Bulbapedia (reported) also lists SR 092/076 and SAR 108/076 in M6 | Set box below; singles via listing page |
| ライコウ | 伝説の鼓動 (S3a) 015/076, 2020 | HP110; rarity not read in the source | No listing referenced here |
| Raikou V SAR | VSTAR Universe (S12a) 218/172 | SAR | PSA 10 back order at ¥18,574 (~$121) |
| Raikou | 30th CELEBRATION classic reprint 162/103 | See our guide to this reprint | No listing referenced here |
| Raikou EX SR 1ED | Dark Rush (BW4) 071/069 | First-edition print | PSA 10 back order at ¥148,720 (~$966) |
| Raikou 1ED | Split Earth (e4) 039/088 | First-edition print | PSA 10 back order at ¥264,600 (~$1,718) |
A PSA 10 back order means a PSA 10 copy is offered at the linked price and sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms.
The 162/103 card has its own write-up: see our Raikou 162/103 30th CELEBRATION classic reprint guide. For the graded V print, see the Raikou V PSA 10 article, and for the whole trio, the legendary beasts guide.
On the sealed side, the Raikou ex above belongs to Storm Emeralda (M6), and we currently list that set’s box. It is a reference point for a current Japanese box in our store; it is not a Lightning Impact product and carries no information about one. The set’s cards are on the M6 card list.

Trademark-to-Release Precedents
Trademark reports have preceded official releases before. The table lists eight verified pairs, using the trademark-report date from premium.gamepedia.jp and the release date from the official pokemon-card.com product page. The gap is counted from the report date.
| Set | Trademark reported | Official release (official product page) | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| テラスタルフェスex (SV8a) | June 5, 2024 | Friday, December 6, 2024 | about 6.0 months |
| バトルパートナーズ (SV9) | July 31, 2024 | Friday, January 24, 2025 | about 5.8 months |
| 熱風のアリーナ (SV9a) | September 2, 2024 | Friday, March 14, 2025 | about 6.3 months |
| ブラックボルト / ホワイトフレア (SV11B/W) | September 2, 2024 | Friday, June 6, 2025 | about 9.1 months |
| ロケット団の栄光 (SV10) | June 5, 2024 | Friday, April 18, 2025 | about 10.4 months |
| MEGAドリームex (M2a) | June 27, 2025 | Friday, November 28, 2025 | about 5.1 months |
| ストームエメラルダ (M6) | June 24, 2025 | Friday, July 31, 2026 | about 13.2 months |
| ハドウシーカー (M7) | March 10, 2026 (filed March 2, 2026) | Friday, November 27, 2026 | about 8.6 months |

Across these eight pairs the gap runs from about five months to about thirteen, with a median of about seven and a half. This is a record of eight cases, not a rule. Applied to an October 29, 2026 report, five months lands in late March 2027 and the median in mid-June 2027. That points to spring to summer 2027, and it is a projection, never a month stated as fact.
premium.gamepedia.jp discusses January 2027 or April 2027 for the packs. A January 2027 release would be about three months after the report, which is shorter than any verified case in the table. April 2027 sits inside the verified range.
MEGA×MEGA Parade is reported by PokeBeach (August 25, 2026) for Friday, February 19, 2027; it is not on the official site as of October 29, 2026, so we do not count it as a verified pair. Our 2027 release schedule tracker keeps each date with its status.

Häufig gestellte Fragen
Is Lightning Impact an announced Pokemon set?
No. イナズマの衝撃 is a Japanese trademark application reported on October 29, 2026 by premium.gamepedia.jp, PokeGuardian and PokeBeach. The Pokémon Company has not announced a product, a set code, a price or a release date under that name.
What does イナズマの衝撃 mean in English?
衝撃 means impact or shock, so PokeBeach writes Lightning Impact and PokeGuardian writes The Impact of Lightning. Both are working translations; no official English name exists.
Is Lightning Impact a Raikou set?
That is a community reading, not a confirmed fact. Lightning suggests Raikou, and the official @Pokemon_cojp post about the ex★ video of August 31, 2026 singles out 「ライコウたち」, but no official source links the trademark to Raikou, to a product or to ex★.
When could Lightning Impact release?
No date exists. In eight verified precedents the gap from trademark report to release ran from about five to thirteen months, median about seven and a half, which projects to spring to summer 2027 from an October 29, 2026 report. premium.gamepedia.jp discusses January 2027 or April 2027 for the packs; January would be shorter than any verified case.
Which Raikou cards can I compare a new one against?
The verified Japanese prints include Raikou ex RR 024/076 from Storm Emeralda (M6), Raikou V SAR 218/172 from VSTAR Universe (S12a), Raikou 015/076 from 伝説の鼓動 (S3a) and the Raikou 162/103 classic reprint from 30th CELEBRATION. The list is not claimed to be exhaustive.
Does the store list a Lightning Impact product?
None of the four names is a product yet, so there is nothing to list. We currently list the M6 Storm Emeralda booster box at Sealed ¥8,926 (~$58) / No Shrink ¥8,853 (~$57), and sourcing requests for specific Raikou cards go through Schnellbestellung.
