The Pokemon ex star (ex★) series has a logo, a reveal video and no products, and on October 29, 2026 fan sites reported four Japanese trademark filings that may be the first names attached to new Pokemon sets 2027: マグマの鼓動 (Magma Heartbeat), イナズマの衝撃 (Lightning Impact), オーロラの波紋 (Aurora Ripples) and バトルスタートデッキ (Battle Start Deck). The English names are a working translation; no official English name exists.
Status first, because it decides how every sentence below should be read. These are Japanese trademark applications reported on October 29, 2026 by fan sites (premium.gamepedia.jp, PokeGuardian, PokeBeach). They are not announced by The Pokémon Company. When we searched J-PlatPat, the Japan Patent Office database, on October 29, 2026, the filings had not yet appeared; the March 2026 Hadou Seeker filing (商願2026-021914, filed March 2, 2026) is visible and still shows as a pending application.
This hub article separates three layers: what the fan sites reported, what the official Pokémon Card Game site has actually published about ex★, and what is speculation. It also sets the four names against eight dated trademark-to-release precedents. Each name has its own article — Magma Heartbeat and Entei, Lightning Impact and Raikou, Aurora Ripples and Suicune and Battle Start Deck — and this page is the map that connects them.
- Reported, not announced: four Japanese trademark filings were reported on October 29, 2026. None of the four names is a product on the official site.
- Official about ex★: a series logo shown on August 31, 2026, plus the reveal video (Mega Lucario Z ex, four MA rarity cards, Entei / Raikou / Suicune on screen). No release date, product, price or set code.
- Speculation, labelled: that the three pack-style names mean Entei, Raikou and Suicune, that all three arrive at once, and that Battle Start Deck is the ex★ entry product.
- Timing: across eight verified precedents the gap from trademark report to release ran from about five to thirteen months, median about seven and a half. A projection, not a date.
The Four Trademarks Reported on October 29, 2026

premium.gamepedia.jp, a Japanese Pokémon card news site, published a piece dated October 29, 2026 stating that the four names were registered (商標登録) by the three companies behind the franchise: 任天堂株式会社, 株式会社クリーチャーズ and 株式会社ゲームフリーク. PokeGuardian published a report on the same date naming the same companies and the same four marks. PokeBeach’s article covers the three pack-style names. Neither premium.gamepedia.jp nor PokeGuardian gives an application number or a filing date.
| Japanese mark | Romanization | Working English translation (unofficial) | Reported by |
|---|---|---|---|
| マグマの鼓動 | Maguma no Kodō | Magma Heartbeat (PokeBeach); „The Pulse of Magma“ (PokeGuardian) | premium.gamepedia.jp, PokeGuardian, PokeBeach |
| イナズマの衝撃 | Inazuma no Shōgeki | Lightning Impact (PokeBeach); „The Impact of Lightning“ (PokeGuardian) | premium.gamepedia.jp, PokeGuardian, PokeBeach |
| オーロラの波紋 | Ōrora no Hamon | Aurora Ripples (PokeBeach); „The Ripples of the Aurora“ (PokeGuardian) | premium.gamepedia.jp, PokeGuardian, PokeBeach |
| バトルスタートデッキ | Batoru Sutāto Dekki | Battle Start Deck | premium.gamepedia.jp, PokeGuardian |
PokeGuardian reports the marks as Class 28 (games, toys and playthings). We could not verify the class of the four new marks ourselves, so the safe reading is „reported as Class 28, the class used for earlier set-name filings“: the Hadou Seeker filing is Class 28 in J-PlatPat.
The English names deserve a note. 鼓動 means heartbeat or pulse, 衝撃 means impact or shock, and 波紋 means ripple. „Magma Heartbeat“, „Lightning Impact“ and „Aurora Ripples“ are PokeBeach’s renderings; PokeGuardian uses the longer „The Pulse of Magma“ style. There is a precedent for fan translations sticking: the 2020 set 伝説の鼓動 (S3a) is called „Legendary Heartbeat“ in English fan coverage, but Bulbapedia notes that the name is a fan translation and no official English name exists. The same caution applies here, so every English name in this article is a working translation.
What the Japanese database shows
The wording of the fan-site headlines (商標登録, „registered“) sounds final, so the public register is worth a look. On October 29, 2026 a J-PlatPat search for マグマの鼓動, and a combined search for all four names, returned no hits. That does not count against the reports: J-PlatPat indexes new applications with a lag of days to weeks. The control search is more informative. ハドウシーカー (Hadou Seeker) returns one hit, 商願2026-021914, a standard-character mark in Class 28 with 任天堂株式会社 他 as applicant, filed March 2, 2026, with no registration date and the status 係属-出願-審査待ち (pending, awaiting examination).
Hadou Seeker is the useful case. Fan sites reported its mark on March 10, 2026, and the product has an official release date of Friday, November 27, 2026 (official product page), yet the filing in the public register is still a pending application. In practice, a fan-site „registered“ headline for a set name usually describes a newly published application. That is why this article writes „reported trademark filings“ and never „registered trademarks“ as its own statement. In the comparable Hadou Seeker record the applicant line reads 任天堂株式会社 他, consistent with the joint Nintendo, Creatures and Game Freak pattern the reports describe for the new marks.
What Is Official About ex★ So Far
ex★ is a series logo shown on August 31, 2026; the only official content so far is the reveal video (Mega Lucario Z ex, four MA rarity cards, Entei / Raikou / Suicune on screen). No release date, product, price or set code is announced. That sentence is the whole official record, and it is worth listing exactly what sits behind it.
- The logo news. On August 31, 2026 pokemon-card.com published 「ex★(イーエックススター)」と描かれた、新シリーズのロゴが公開! The logo appeared in the Pokémon TCG video played at the closing ceremony of Pokémon World Championships 2026 in San Francisco. The page names one card, メガルカリオZex, and ends with 「今後の続報をお待ちください」 (please wait for further news). Our ex★ announcement article covers the day it was shown.
- The video. The official Pokémon YouTube channel carries the video under the title 【公式】ポケモンカードゲーム「ex★」. Dengeki Online and GAME Watch reported its contents on August 31, 2026: new cards including メガルカリオZex, and four MA cards. They also reported that Suicune, Entei and Raikou appear at the end, with the ex★ logo. Our own article identified the four MA cards from the video as Mega Darkrai ex, Mega Greninja ex, Mega Rayquaza ex and Mega Zygarde ex.
- The official pointer to the beasts. The official X account @Pokemon_cojp posted on August 31, 2026 that viewers should note 「ライコウたち」 (Raikou and the others) who appeared alongside the ex★ logo. This is the strongest official link between the three Pokémon and ex★. It still names no product.

One point is easy to get wrong. MA (メガアタックレア, Mega Attack Rare) is an existing official rarity introduced with MEGA Dream ex (Friday, November 28, 2025); the ex★ video showed four new MA cards. It did not create the rarity, so MA is no evidence that the four trademarks belong to ex★.
Two further negatives belong in the record. The official product site (pokemon-card.com/products) carries no entry for any of the four names, for MEGA×MEGAパレード, or for any ex★ product, as checked on October 29, 2026. And „ex Star“ is an unofficial romanization: no English-language official announcement exists, and English coverage so far comes from third-party outlets.
Here is the official video as published, for readers who want to judge the on-screen order for themselves:

Trademark Filings as a Release Signal: The Verified Precedents
The question every collector asks is how long after a trademark report a set appears. The table below is the only evidence this article uses: eight pairs where the trademark report (premium.gamepedia.jp’s dated „商標登録“ articles) and the official release date (the official pokemon-card.com product page) are both on record. None of the eight is a prediction.
| Set | Trademark reported | Official release | Report to release |
|---|---|---|---|
| MEGAドリームex (M2a, High Class Pack) | June 27, 2025 | Friday, November 28, 2025 (official product page) | about 5.1 months |
| バトルパートナーズ (SV9) | July 31, 2024 | Friday, January 24, 2025 (official product page) | about 5.8 months |
| テラスタルフェスex (SV8a, High Class Pack) | June 5, 2024 | Friday, December 6, 2024 (official product page) | about 6.0 months |
| 熱風のアリーナ (SV9a) | September 2, 2024 | Friday, March 14, 2025 (official product page) | about 6.3 months |
| ハドウシーカー (M7) | March 10, 2026 | Friday, November 27, 2026 (official product page) | about 8.6 months |
| ブラックボルト / ホワイトフレア (SV11B/W) | September 2, 2024 | Friday, June 6, 2025 (official product page) | about 9.1 months |
| ロケット団の栄光 (SV10) | June 5, 2024 | Friday, April 18, 2025 (official product page) | about 10.4 months |
| ストームエメラルダ (M6) | June 24, 2025 | Friday, July 31, 2026 (official product page) | about 13.2 months |
Sorted by gap, the range is about 5.1 to 13.2 months and the median is about seven and a half months. Applied to an October 29, 2026 report, the shortest verified gap points to late March 2027 at the soonest, and the median points to about mid-June 2027. premium.gamepedia.jp discusses January 2027 or April 2027 for the packs. A January 2027 release would be about three months after the report, shorter than any verified case. An April 2027 release would sit at the short end of the verified range. Taken together, the precedents point to spring to summer 2027 — a projection from eight pairs, not a release month and not a rule.
Three cautions keep the table honest. First, the pairs are the ones we have verified, so it makes no claim to cover every set. Second, all eight start from the same kind of fan-site report, which is exactly the kind of source behind the October 29, 2026 reports. Third, the Hadou Seeker line shows how loosely a „report date“ tracks the legal filing: the mark was filed on March 2, 2026 in J-PlatPat and reported on March 10. A related case is still unresolved: PokeBeach reported a MEGA×MEGAパレード trademark in July 2026 and reported a release date of Friday, February 19, 2027, which would be about 7.6 months later, but that date is not on the official site (more on that below).
For the High Class Pack side of the pattern, our High Class Pack history keeps the pack-by-pack record.
The Entei / Raikou / Suicune Reading and the „Three Packs at Once“ Theory
Everything in this section is speculation, and it is labelled that way on purpose. The reading goes: マグマ (magma) suggests Entei, イナズマ (lightning) suggests Raikou, and オーロラ (aurora) suggests Suicune. That is a community reading of the three names, strengthened by the three Pokémon appearing in the official ex★ video of August 31, 2026 — not confirmed. PokeBeach’s reading is that the names „obviously reference Entei, Suicune, and Raikou“ and will headline the ex★ series. premium.gamepedia.jp speculates the same, citing the video and the three words as its basis.

What supports the reading is real but thin: the video shows the three Pokémon, and the official X post points to 「ライコウたち」. What is missing is any official sentence connecting a trademark, a product or a pack to those Pokémon. The post names no product, and the official site lists none.
premium.gamepedia.jp adds a second theory: that the three packs could be released simultaneously. This is speculation from that site alone. The verified precedents give no basis either way, because the table above is made of individual releases (one row pairs ブラックボルト and ホワイトフレア, which shared a date), and nothing in the facts we hold says whether three sets would arrive together or staggered. Whether the three names are expansion packs, deluxe packs or something else is unknown.
If the reading is right, collectors of each beast would compare the new cards with the prints they already know. The prints we have verified from the official card database include:
| Pokémon | Verified print | Set and number |
|---|---|---|
| Raikou | ライコウex (RR) | ストームエメラルダ (M6) 024/076, released Friday, July 31, 2026 |
| Suicune | スイクン (promo) | SV-P 194/SV-P, from the スタートデッキGenerations special battle set, 2024 |
Two details matter for the speculation. Among the prints verified, the only ex-type Entei is エンテイEX from BW4 (2012), so a modern Entei ex would be new ground. And the Suicune ex we have verified is a new card in the ポケモンカードゲーム Classic deck set, which is a different kind of product from an expansion pack. For the card-by-card view, each beast has its own article linked above, and the legendary beasts guide keeps the broader value context.

A released product sits on the store side of that comparison, for readers who want a Mega-era box to look at while the four names stay unannounced:
Battle Start Deck in the Starter Lineage
バトルスタートデッキ is the odd one out: the name says deck, not pack. premium.gamepedia.jp speculates that it could be a set of beginner decks built around ex★ Pokémon. That is speculation. The name has no official page, and its contents, price, number of decks and whether the decks are fixed or random are all unknown. What can be said is where the word スタートデッキ sits in the official record (dates from the official product pages, see the Battle Start Deck article).
| Produkt | Release | Contents | Fixed or random |
|---|---|---|---|
| スタートデッキ100 (sI) | Friday, December 17, 2021 | One 60-card deck, numbered from 001 to 100 across 100 types | Random: which deck you get is chance |
| スターターセットex (ニャオハ&ルカリオex and others) | Friday, January 20, 2023 | 60-card deck, coin, playmat, promo pack, guides | Fixed deck, plus one random promo |
| exスタートデッキ (8 types) | Friday, July 7, 2023 | 60-card deck, damage counters, all non-holo cards | Fixed |
| おまかせexスタートデッキ | Friday, July 7, 2023 | One of 10 decks | Random |
| バトルアカデミー (SV) | Friday, March 8, 2024 | 4 decks (ピカチュウex, ニャオハex, ゲッコウガex, ルカリオex), playmat, coin, guides | Fixed |
| MEGA スタートデッキ100 バトルコレクション | Friday, December 19, 2025 | One 60-card deck of 100 types, always with two or more Pokémon ex | Random: one of 100 |
| MEGA スターターセットex (3 types) | Friday, July 31, 2026 | 60-card deck, damage counters, coin, playmat, guide, rulebook | Fixed |
Two formats recur: single decks that are random within a numbered series, and boxed sets with a fixed deck. A „Battle Start“ name could echo either, or both, and the facts we hold do not choose. The distinction matters to a buyer because a random-deck product cannot be bought for one specific deck, while a fixed set can. The comparison guides for Start Deck 100 Battle Collection and the Starter Set ex line show how the released products differ, and the Battle Start Deck article takes the lineage further. Could it be the ex★ entry product? It could. It could equally be unrelated to ex★. Nothing official links the two.
What 2027 Looks Like From the Official Side
Of the items this article covers, the only official product date belongs to ハドウシーカー (Hadou Seeker, M7): Friday, November 27, 2026, on its official product page. It is also the one case in the precedent table where the trademark filing (March 2, 2026), the fan-site report (March 10, 2026) and the official date can be read side by side.
None of the four names and nothing for ex★ has a reported day. The nearest reported 2027 date is MEGA×MEGAパレード, a High Class Pack: Friday, February 19, 2027, reported by PokeBeach on August 25, 2026; not on the official site as of October 29, 2026. It stays a report until an official page prints it. The official side has published no date for any ex★ product, for any of the four names, or for an English counterpart; other 2027 dates and their status are tracked article by article. Our 2027 release schedule tracker carries every row with a status word, and the Aura Seeker release date guide keeps the running record for the November date.
That leaves a simple picture. premium.gamepedia.jp discusses January 2027 or April 2027 for the packs; on the precedent evidence, a more likely window runs from late March to the summer of 2027.

Where to Buy Current Mega-Era Boxes and Legendary-Beast Cards
None of the four names is a product yet, so there is nothing to list. What we currently list are released products from the same product lines and the cards the three beasts already have. For the Mega-era card-list hub, see the Mega-era card list. Individual lists include the M6 Storm Emeralda card list (Raikou ex 024/076 is in this set), the M6a 30th CELEBRATION card list and the S12a VSTAR Universe card list (the Entei, Raikou and Suicune V SAR prints).

Häufig gestellte Fragen
What are the four Pokemon trademarks reported on October 29, 2026?
They are マグマの鼓動 (Magma Heartbeat), イナズマの衝撃 (Lightning Impact), オーロラの波紋 (Aurora Ripples) and バトルスタートデッキ (Battle Start Deck). premium.gamepedia.jp, PokeGuardian and PokeBeach reported them as Japanese trademark filings by Nintendo, Creatures and Game Freak. The English names are a working translation; no official English name exists, and The Pokémon Company has not announced any of them.
Are these names officially part of the Pokemon ex star (ex★) series?
No official source says so. The only official ex★ content is the series logo and reveal video shown on August 31, 2026, which featured Mega Lucario Z ex, four MA rarity cards and Entei, Raikou and Suicune on screen. The link between the four trademarks and ex★ is the fan sites‘ inference and is labelled speculation.
When could these new Pokemon sets release?
Nobody knows; no release date is announced. premium.gamepedia.jp discusses January 2027 or April 2027 for the packs. In eight verified precedents the gap from trademark report to release ran from about 5.1 to 13.2 months, median about 7.5, which for an October 29, 2026 report points to spring to summer 2027. That is a projection, and a January 2027 release would be shorter than any verified case.
Does a trademark report mean a product is announced?
No. A trademark filing is a reported filing, not an announcement. Hadou Seeker shows the difference: its filing from March 2, 2026 still shows as a pending application in J-PlatPat, while its official release date is Friday, November 27, 2026. The four new names had not yet appeared in J-PlatPat when we checked on October 29, 2026.
Is MA a new rarity created for ex★?
No. MA (Mega Attack Rare) is an existing official rarity introduced with MEGA Dream ex on Friday, November 28, 2025. The ex★ video showed four new MA cards, but it did not create the rarity.
Does the store list any of the four trademarked names?
No. None of the four names is a product yet, so there is nothing to list. The store currently lists released Mega-era boxes, starter products and Entei, Raikou and Suicune cards, shown in the buying section above, and sourcing requests for a specific card go through Quick Order.
