How We Ranked These Chase Cards

We are not quoting TCGplayer, eBay, or PriceCharting numbers anywhere in this article. Instead, the ranking below uses two things we can actually verify from our own operation:

1. Our own PSA 10 listings first, ordered by our listed price. Four of the ten cards below are cards we currently list graded PSA 10 — those sit at the top of the list, highest price first.
2. Everything else, ordered by Japanese rarity tier. For cards not currently in our PSA 10 lineup, we ranked by the printed Japanese rarity: UR gold energy/support cards first, then SAR (Special Art Rare), then SR, then AR.

One naming note before the list: Limitless TCG’s English-language rarity labels (Illustration Rare, Special Illustration Rare, Hyper Rare) don’t appear on the Japanese cards themselves. The letters actually printed on the Japanese SV1S and SV1V cards are AR, SR, SAR, and UR — that’s what we use throughout this article and in our per-set card list pages.

Japanese vs English: What Changes

Ten cards, one artwork each, two completely different numbering systems. A few things worth knowing if you’re trying to match a Japanese card to its English counterpart, or vice versa:

The card counts are why this article only covers SV1S and SV1V. Our Scarlet & Violet Japanese card list also credits a third Japanese set, Triplet Beat (SV1a), as a source for some Scarlet & Violet English cards — but SV1a’s own chase cards are numerous enough that we cover them separately in our Paldea Evolved chase-cards guide rather than folding them in here.

Every English secret rare in this set falls into one of four Limitless-labelled tiers (Illustration Rare, full-art Ultra Rare, Special Illustration Rare, Hyper Rare gold), but none of those English labels are printed on the Japanese card. What’s printed on the Japanese card is one of AR, SR, SAR, or UR — and matching those two systems card-by-card, by illustrator credit, is exactly what the table above and our Scarlet ex (SV1S) card list and Violet ex (SV1V) card list do in full.
