Mega Feraligatr ex has two Japanese prints in the official Pokemon Card Game database — 169/742 and 763/742, both メガオーダイルex from the Start Deck 100 Battle Collection (MC) — and neither one shows a rarity icon on its database page.
Both prints carry the same 370 HP and the same attack. 5ban Graphics illustrated the regular 169/742, and Souichirou Gunjima illustrated the above-denominator 763/742, which listings and marketplaces call "SAR Style" or "SAR仕様"; that is a market label, not a rarity printed in the database. Limitless TCG, a third-party database, lists three English Mega Feraligatr ex prints: Ascended Heroes 43 and 274, and Mega Promos 36.
Tokyo is where we ship Japanese sealed product and graded singles from. Current yen listing prices appear throughout, with USD approximated at ¥154/USD.
Two Japanese Mega Feraligatr ex prints appear in the official database as of October 1, 2026: 169/742 and 763/742, both in the Start Deck 100 Battle Collection (MC) and both without a rarity icon. The PSA 10 763/742, titled "SAR Style" in our catalogue, is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥21,987 (~$143) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms. The 169/742 has no priced listing at the time of this update.
Both Mega Feraligatr ex rows in the official Japanese card database are covered as of October 1, 2026, alongside the three English prints Limitless TCG lists for the same name.
The 2 Japanese Mega Feraligatr ex Prints
The official database lists two cards named メガオーダイルex, each with its own number and neither with a rarity icon. "No priced listing" means no Mega Feraligatr ex product with that number carries a current catalogue price; a sourcing request for it goes through Ordine rapido.
| Set | N. | Carta | Rarity in the database | Illustrator | Our listing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MC | 169/742 | Mega Feraligatr ex | No rarity icon | 5ban Graphics | No priced listing |
| MC | 763/742 | Mega Feraligatr ex | No rarity icon | Souichirou Gunjima | PSA 10 back order ¥21,987 (~$143) |
Each row has its own detail page in the database (card IDs 48885 and 50031), and both sit in one product. The 169 is printed inside the 742-card numbering, and the 763 is printed above it.
Start Deck 100 Battle Collection (MC): The Product Behind the Prints
The official product page at pokemon-card.com/ex/mc describes ポケモンカードゲーム MEGA スタートデッキ100 バトルコレクション as a 60-card deck plus a damage counter and marker sheet, at ¥891 including tax, with a release date of December 19, 2025. The page states that the same card appears several times in a deck because these are constructed decks, and that one of the 100 decks lands in the buyer’s hands.
| Detail | Start Deck 100 Battle Collection (MC) |
|---|---|
| Product name (official) | ポケモンカードゲーム MEGA スタートデッキ100 バトルコレクション |
| Release date (official product page) | December 19, 2025 |
| Price (official) | ¥891 (tax included) |
| Contents (official) | One 60-card deck and one damage counter and marker sheet |
| Deck lists on the official page | 100 decks, 60 cards each |
| Printed denominator | 742 |
| Database entries | 774 |
Bulbapedia’s page for the product (revision of May 7, 2026) says each purchase is one random selection from a collection of 102 different decks: 100 standard decks, 1 secret deck, and 1 variant of Deck No. 001 that contains a gold-etched Mega Charizard Y ex 766. It also says all of the cards form one numbered set with a collection number of 742, and that the cards released in this product are included in the English Ascended Heroes expansion.
The MEGA Start Deck 100 Battle Collection product is currently listed at ¥1,218 (~$8). The official page gives no rarity for any card in the product, including the 763/742.
What the Database Prints on Mega Feraligatr ex
The two prints share one set of card data. The database shows Mega Feraligatr ex as a Stage 2 (2 進化) Water Pokemon with 370 HP and one attack; the evolution block on the official detail page links the names ワニノコ, アリゲイツ, オーダイル and メガオーダイルex, and Limitless states that it evolves from アリゲイツ. The regulation letter is not printed on the database page: Limitless’s Japanese card pages for #169 and #763 show the letter J, and that letter is Limitless’s own entry, not confirmed on the official page.
| Field | As printed in the database |
|---|---|
| Card name | メガオーダイルex |
| Stage | Stage 2 (2 進化) |
| HP | 370 |
| Type | Water |
| Weakness | Lightning ×2 |
| Resistance | None shown |
| Retreat cost | 3 |
| Special rule | When a Mega Evolution ex is Knocked Out, the opponent takes 3 Prize cards |
| Regulation mark | J, per Limitless (the database page does not print it) |
The Attack
| Attack | Cost | Damage | Text |
|---|---|---|---|
| キラークランチ | Two Water Energy and one Colorless Energy | 200+ | If the opponent’s Active Pokemon has damage counters on it, this attack does 200 more damage. |
The attack row paraphrases the printed card text. The database shows no ability on either print. Because the data block is identical on the 169 and the 763, the choice between them comes down to frame, artwork and number rather than to gameplay. Bulbapedia notes that the Start Deck 100 Battle Collection and its CoroCiao Version counterpart are the first products to carry the "J" regulation mark in the Japanese Standard format.
Mega Feraligatr ex 169/742 and 763/742 in Detail
Mega Feraligatr ex 169/742 — 5ban Graphics
The 169 is the regular print, printed inside the 742-card numbering and credited to 5ban Graphics. The database page shows no rarity icon for it, and Bulbapedia’s card page lists it as the Regular card with the English Ascended Heroes number 043/217.
Mega Feraligatr ex 763/742 — Souichirou Gunjima
The 763 is printed above the 742 denominator and credited to Souichirou Gunjima. The database page shows no rarity icon for it either. PSA 10 MEGA Feraligatr ex SAR Style [MC 763/742] is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥21,987 (~$143). The physical PSA 10 slab listing for the 763 is sold out at the time of this update — restock requests go through Ordine rapido.
SAR Style and SAR仕様: Market Labels, Not Database Rarities
Our PSA 10 listing for the 763/742 is titled "SAR Style", and SNKRDUNK titles the same card "SAR仕様". Both are labels used by the market. The official database shows no rarity icon on any of the 774 Start Deck 100 Battle Collection cards, and the official product page does not use the rarity words SAR or MUR. Other sources describe the 763 in their own vocabulary.
| Source | How it describes the Japanese 763/742 |
|---|---|
| Official Japanese database | No rarity icon |
| Official MC product page | No rarity stated for any card |
| Our PSA 10 listing title | "SAR Style" (market label) |
| SNKRDUNK product name | "SAR仕様" (market label) |
| Bulbapedia’s card page for the English print | Full Art special illustration rare in Ascended Heroes; no Japanese rarity entered |
| Bulbapedia, Start Deck 100 Battle Collection page | Names Full Art prints of debut Mega Evolution Pokemon ex as examples of secret cards in the product |
In practice, the number 763/742 identifies the card, whatever label a listing uses. Where a listing calls the card an "SAR" without the number, compare it with the database number before treating the label as a rarity. For how the official rarity codes work, see our Japanese Pokemon card rarities explained article.
Which Start Decks Hold Mega Feraligatr ex
The official page loads all 100 deck lists, and every list totals 60 cards. In those lists メガオーダイルex 169 appears twice, once in each of two decks, and the 763/742 does not appear in any of the 100 lists. Bulbapedia’s deck-list pages (revisions dated between December 21, 2025 and March 31, 2026) add a holofoil detail and place the 763/742 in a further deck.
| Deck (official list) | Deck types | Count in deck | Bulbapedia deck-list note | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 169/742 | Deck 15 | Water / Darkness (水/悪) | 1 | Deck No. 015; entry marked †, Mirror Holo |
| 169/742 | Deck 56 | Water (水) | 1 | Deck No. 056; entry unmarked, Non Holofoil |
| 763/742 | Not in the 100 official lists | — | — | Deck No. 101 †, a 3-type deck of Holofoil cards; one card |
The official lead line for deck 15 is かみつくポケモンの強力な組み合わせを使いこなせ！, which reads as a call to master a strong combination of biting Pokemon. The lead line for deck 56 is ふぶきで弱った相手を一網打尽！ ダメカンのせまくりコンボデッキ！, a combo deck that piles on damage counters. Both readings are paraphrases of the printed Japanese.
The Other Two Cards in Deck No. 101
Bulbapedia’s Deck No. 101 page lists the 763/742 next to two other above-denominator Mega ex cards, one card each: Mega Meganium ex 761/742 and Mega Emboar ex 762/742. Neither appears in the official 100 deck lists either. PSA 10 Mega Meganium ex SAR Style [MC 761/742] is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥16,198 (~$105), and PSA 10 Mega Emboar ex SAR Style [MC 762/742] at ¥12,281 (~$80).
Reading the Numbers: 742, and What Sits Above It
A Japanese card number has two parts: the collector number and the printed set size. In the Start Deck 100 Battle Collection every numbered card prints the denominator 742, and the database holds 742 entries numbered 001 to 742 plus 24 entries numbered 743 to 766, which sit above the denominator. Our guide to reading Japanese Pokemon cards covers the format.
| Collector number | Printed set size | Number above set size? | Rarity in the database | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MC 169 | 169 | 742 | No | No icon |
| MC 763 | 763 | 742 | Yes (21 above) | No icon |
On a slab label or a listing title, the number alone tells you which print you are looking at: 169 is the regular print and 763 the above-denominator print. Two illustrators are credited across the two prints, and Bulbapedia’s card page says the same for the English release: the regular print features artwork by 5ban Graphics and the Full Art special illustration rare print features artwork by Souichirou Gunjima.
| Illustrator | Credits | |
|---|---|---|
| 5ban Graphics | 1 | MC 169/742 |
| Souichirou Gunjima | 1 | MC 763/742 |
The database lists no other illustrator for the name メガオーダイルex, and it lists no promo row under that name.
English Mega Feraligatr ex Prints: Ascended Heroes and Mega Promos
Limitless TCG lists three English Mega Feraligatr ex prints as of October 1, 2026 and prints regulation mark J on each page. Bulbapedia’s card page (revision of July 17, 2026) pairs the two Japanese numbers with Ascended Heroes numbers and adds an English promo that has no Japanese row in the official database.
| Japanese print (MC) | English number (Bulbapedia) | English rarity (Bulbapedia) | Limitless English page | Limitless rarity | Illustrator credit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 169/742 | Ascended Heroes 043/217 | Double Rare | ASC #43 | Double Rare | 5ban Graphics |
| 763/742 | Ascended Heroes 274/217 | Special Illustration Rare | ASC #274 | Special Art Rare | Souichirou Gunjima |
| No Japanese row | MEP Black Star Promos 036 | Not entered | MEP #36 | Not given | 5ban Graphics |
The rarity words are each source’s own naming: Bulbapedia calls the special print "Special Illustration Rare" while Limitless calls it "Special Art Rare". Per Bulbapedia, the MEP 36 print is a Regular card with alternate artwork by 5ban Graphics, and it was one of the MEP Black Star Promos in the Mega Feraligatr ex Box from April 24, 2026; the same page says the standard-size card was later included in the Mega Feraligatr ex Tin. In Korea, Bulbapedia says, the alternate artwork print was one of the M-P promotional cards in the MEGA "ex Special Set" promo pack. Our Japanese vs English Pokemon cards article covers the wider differences between the two markets.
Mega Feraligatr ex PSA 10 Listings
PSA 10 designates Gem Mint condition per PSA’s published grading standards. The Mega Feraligatr ex PSA 10 listing as of October 1, 2026 is linked with its product image, and our guide to PSA 10 su ordinazione explains the back-order route.
Matching a Card or Slab to the Right Print
Mega Feraligatr ex has two Japanese and three English numbers, and six fields separate them.
| Check | 169/742 | 763/742 |
|---|---|---|
| Collector number | 169/742 | 763/742 |
| Rarity icon in the database | None | None |
| Illustrator credit | 5ban Graphics | Souichirou Gunjima |
| Number above the 742 denominator | No | Yes |
| Market label on listings | None | SAR Style / SAR仕様 |
| English number on Bulbapedia’s card page | Ascended Heroes 043/217 | Ascended Heroes 274/217 |
The number decides it: 169 is the regular print and 763 the print above the denominator, and the credits (5ban Graphics, Souichirou Gunjima) follow the same split. A PSA 10 label or our listing title shows MC 763/742 in full; PSA’s certification lookup confirms the certification number and grade PSA recorded, and our condition guide for Japanese cards and PSA 10 meaning article explain graded versus raw cards.
