One Piece Starter Decks Guide: Every ST Deck from ST-01 to ST-36

One Piece Starter Decks Guide: Every ST Deck from ST-01 to ST-36

Thirty-six starter decks, one game, and a numbering system that doesn’t sort by date. ST-21 released after ST-20 but well before ST-22 caught up — and the six-deck run from ST-23 through ST-28 all shipped on the same day.

If you’re trying to figure out which One Piece starter deck to buy, or which one a specific Leader card came from, the official product list is the only place that sorts it out cleanly. This guide walks the full ST-01–ST-36 lineup as published on the official Japanese card list, flags the two “Ultimate Deck” upgrades that break the normal format, and covers where starter-deck cards resurface later as chase pulls in booster sets. We source Japanese One Piece Card Game product directly out of Tokyo, so the stock referenced here ties back to what we actually carry.

Key Takeaway

Thirty-six ST-numbered starter decks are confirmed on the official card list as of August 2026, two of which (ST-10, ST-13) are Ultimate Decks with three Leaders each. The newest run, ST-31 through ST-36, released as six color-themed decks together. Our anchor stock is a graded parallel Leader from ST-30: PSA10 Luffy & Ace L-P [ST30-001], currently listed at ¥96,387.

As of this writing, ST-01 through ST-36 is the complete set of ST-numbered products on the official card list — there’s no gap and no ST-numbered deck we found that falls outside this range. Two entries break the standard “starter deck” format entirely: ST-10 and ST-13 are Ultimate Decks, a higher-tier product with three Leader cards apiece instead of one. Both are covered in their own section below.

Where It Started: The Four Launch Decks (2022)

The One Piece Card Game launched in Japan on 2022-07-08, and it launched with four starter decks at once: ST-01 Straw Hat Crew, ST-02 Worst Generation, ST-03 The Seven Warlords of the Sea, and ST-04 Animal Kingdom Pirates. That simultaneous four-deck release is the game’s actual starting point — the English-version dates in the table above (all 2022-12-02) reflect the later Western rollout, not the Japanese launch.

Each of the four themes maps to a distinct crew from the manga: Luffy’s Straw Hats, the “Worst Generation” supernovas, the Seven Warlords faction, and Kaido’s Animal Kingdom Pirates. If you’re trying to date a raw ST-01 through ST-04 card and it doesn’t carry any other set marking, the Japanese launch window of mid-2022 is the reference point.

A Common Mix-Up

ST-03’s theme is “The Seven Warlords of the Sea,” and it’s easy to assume the deck is Leader-built around whichever Warlord character stands out most in the box art. The deck’s actual Leader is a single fixed card tied to that theme — check the L / LEADER card in your specific copy rather than assuming from the box.

The Two Ultimate Decks: ST-10 and ST-13

Two products in the ST line step up from the standard single-Leader format: ST-10 Ultimate Deck: The Three Captains (2023-11-10) and ST-13 Ultimate Deck: The Three Brothers’ Bond (2024-04-19). Both ship with three separate Leader cards instead of one, letting a single box build around any of three different Leaders rather than locking in a single build.

ST13-002 Portgas.D.Ace Blue-Yellow, 5000 Power, Life 4
ST13-003 Monkey.D.Luffy Black-Yellow, 5000 Power, Life 4

All three ST-13 Leaders — Sabo, Ace, and Luffy — carry a deck-included parallel version, and each has also surfaced separately as a Prize Card and in the Premium Card Collection -Leader Collection- reprint line. ST-10’s own Leader trio follows the same three-captains structure; among its Leaders is Trafalgar Law’s ST10-001 printing, which we cover in more depth in our Leader cards guide.

The Color-Themed Run: ST-15 Through ST-36

Starting with ST-15 in October 2024, the starter-deck line shifted to a color-first naming convention — each deck is built around one of the game’s six colors (Red, Green, Blue, Purple, Black, Yellow) with a specific Leader attached. Three waves have released this way so far:

Wave Datum Decks
Wave 1 2024-10-25 ST-15 Red (Edward.Newgate) · ST-16 Green (Uta) · ST-17 Blue (Doflamingo) · ST-18 Purple (Luffy) · ST-19 Black (Smoker) · ST-20 Yellow (Katakuri)
Wave 2 2025-06-06 ST-23 Red (Shanks) · ST-24 Green (Bonney) · ST-25 Blue (Buggy) · ST-26 Purple/Black (Luffy) · ST-27 Black (Teach) · ST-28 Green/Yellow (Yamato)
Wave 3 2026-07-31 ST-31 Red (Luffy) · ST-32 Green (Zoro) · ST-33 Blue (Kuzan) · ST-34 Purple (Katakuri) · ST-35 Red/Black (Sabo) · ST-36 Yellow (Kid)

All three waves shipped six decks on the same release day, which is a useful shortcut for dating a color-themed starter deck: if you know the wave, you know the release window even without checking the exact ST code. The most recent wave, ST-31–ST-36, is also the most recent starter-deck release of any kind as of August 2026.

ST-30 Spotlight: Starter Deck EX -Luffy & Ace-

ST-30 sits outside the main color-run naming pattern — it’s labeled a “Starter Deck EX,” a designation that first appeared with ST-21 -GEAR5-. Released 2026-06-12, ST-30 pairs a constructed 51-card deck with 10 DON!! cards, a play sheet, and a bonus pack of three cards drawn from a 17-card pool — that bonus pack is where the “Bonus Pack” wording in our product listing comes from.

The deck’s Leader is ST30-001 Luffy & Ace, a Red-Green, 6000-Power card. It also has a confirmed parallel printing, ST30-001_p1, which is the version behind our current stock.

Our Stock

PSA10 Luffy & Ace L-P [ST30-001] (Start Deck EX “Luffy&Ace Bonus Pack”) is currently listed at ¥96,387. This is the parallel Leader from the ST-30 deck, professionally graded PSA 10.

How Starter-Deck Cards Become Chase Pulls

Starter-deck cards don’t stay confined to their original box. The clearest example is ST01-012, a Common Monkey.D.Luffy Character card from the original ST-01 Straw Hat Crew deck — it was later reprinted as an SP Card parallel in the OP-03 Pillars of Strength booster set, with wanted-poster style art. That reprint pathway is exactly how a low-rarity starter card from 2022 ends up as a chase pull in a later booster box.

The mechanism repeats across the ST line whenever a set includes an SP Card slot: a card’s original code and name stay attached to it, but it appears in a completely different product with different art and a different rarity tier. For a full breakdown of how the SP Card mechanic works and which sets have used it, see our SP cards guide.

ST-13’s three Leaders follow a related but distinct pattern — rather than reprinting into a booster set, they’ve resurfaced through Prize Card distribution and the Premium Card Collection -Leader Collection- reprint product, which is the more common route for graded Leader singles on the secondary market.

Veelgestelde vragen

How many One Piece starter decks are there?

Thirty-six ST-numbered starter decks are confirmed on the official card list as of August 2026 (ST-01 through ST-36), two of which — ST-10 and ST-13 — are Ultimate Decks that each ship with three Leader cards instead of one.

What were the first One Piece starter decks?

Four decks launched together in Japan on 2022-07-08: ST-01 Straw Hat Crew, ST-02 Worst Generation, ST-03 The Seven Warlords of the Sea, and ST-04 Animal Kingdom Pirates.

What’s different about the Ultimate Decks?

ST-10 (Ultimate Deck: The Three Captains) and ST-13 (Ultimate Deck: The Three Brothers’ Bond) each include three separate Leader cards instead of the standard single Leader, letting one box build around three different characters.

What is Starter Deck EX -Luffy & Ace- (ST-30)?

ST-30 released 2026-06-12 with a 51-card constructed deck, 10 DON!! cards, a play sheet, and a three-card bonus pack. Its Leader, ST30-001 Luffy & Ace, has a confirmed parallel printing — the version behind our current PSA10 stock, listed at ¥96,387.

Do starter-deck cards ever show up in booster boxes?

Yes. ST01-012, a Common Luffy card from the original ST-01 deck, was later reprinted as an SP Card parallel in the OP-03 Pillars of Strength booster set — the same card code and name, but a different rarity and artwork in a different product.
