30th CELEBRATION (M6a) released worldwide on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, and its dedicated 30-card Pikachu subset runs from 017/103 through 046/103. Card 037/103 is the twenty-first of those thirty, illustrated by OOYAMA and carrying the sub-number 21/30.
This guide covers what’s confirmed about 037/103: its attack text from the official card database, what Bulbapedia’s page for OOYAMA states about his long Pokémon TCG career, where this card sits relative to the Ken Sugimori card that opens the subset, and what comparable graded Pikachu prints are currently listed at on our site.
Pikachu 037/103 is 21/30 in 30th CELEBRATION’s illustrator subset (EN number 043), drawn by OOYAMA. Its single attack, Tropical Vibes, puts itself to sleep to draw up to six cards, and there is no dated marketplace figure for this Pikachu in this update. Our M6a 30th CELEBRATION Booster Box is currently listed as a pre-order at ¥25,000 (~$162) sealed / ¥23,000 (~$149) no shrink, and graded copies of other Pikachu prints are browsable in our PSA10 collection.
Figures below are dated as stated — the official card database (checked September 16, 2026), PokeBeach’s September 9, 2026 translations, Bulbapedia’s illustrator pages (fetched September 16, 2026), SNKRDUNK asking prices dated September 16, 2026, or our own live listed prices. Card 037/103 itself has no dated marketplace figure in this update.
What Is Pikachu 037/103 in 30th Celebration?
Pikachu 037/103 is a main-set card in M6a 30th CELEBRATION, confirmed in the official card database (pokemon-card.com) with its JP name (ピカチュウ) and illustrator credit. It belongs to the set’s dedicated 30-card Pikachu subset, 017–046, where every pack guarantees one of the thirty plus one YOSHIROTTEN Basic Energy card.

In the compiled English checklists for this set, 037/103 corresponds to EN number 043 — the standing rule is that the English number equals 22 plus the Pikachu’s Japanese sub-number, so 21/30 lands at EN 043. For the complete roster of all thirty illustrators and where each falls in the sequence, see our 30 Pikachu illustrators guide.
Card Details: Tropical Vibes and the Numbers
| Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Card number | 037/103 (21/30 in the Pikachu subset; EN 043) |
| JP name | ピカチュウ |
| Type | Lightning |
| HP | 70 |
| Stage | Basic |
| Illustrator | OOYAMA |
| Status | Official card database (confirmed number, name, illustrator) |
The card text, per PokeBeach’s September 9, 2026 translation of the official database entry, is a single risk-reward attack:
- [C][C] Tropical Vibes — This Pokémon is now Asleep. Draw cards until you have 6 cards in your hand.
Weakness is Fighting (×2), there’s no listed Resistance, and retreat cost is 2 Energy. Unlike most of the subset’s straightforward attackers, this one trades combat readiness for a hand refill — a support-leaning effect closer to a Supporter card’s draw power than a typical Basic Pokémon’s attack.
OOYAMA and His Pokémon TCG Career
Bulbapedia’s page gives OOYAMA’s full name as Kouichi Ooyama (大山 功一, Ōyama Kōichi), born 1960, typically credited on cards simply as “OOYAMA.” The page’s earliest TCG-adjacent credit is an illustrated insert packaged with a Japanese Pikachu card (Wizards Promo 24), and it credits him with 38 cards illustrated for the TCG so far, plus 10 more in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.
His page-listed work runs well beyond individual cards: he is credited as a designer of the original Pokémon Trading Card Game itself and later of Pokémon Duel, plus illustration work on “What’s Nassy’s Favorite Word?” and, outside Pokémon, as art director and game designer on EarthBound. Card-specific credits on the page include “Ooyama’s Pikachu” (Vending Series 3), Exeggutor (Tropical Mega Battle Promo), Pokémon Machine (Vending Series 3) and Mr. Mime (151, card 122).
Worth flagging directly: OOYAMA has a well-documented earlier Pikachu illustration history — that Vending Series 3 “Ooyama’s Pikachu” among them — but Bulbapedia’s page does not connect any of that older work to this new 30th CELEBRATION Pikachu specifically. Treat 037/103 as a separate, new illustration rather than a continuation of that earlier piece. For more of the thirty illustrators’ backgrounds, see our Pikachu illustrators hub.
Where 037 Sits in the 30-Pikachu Subset
All thirty Pikachu cards share the same fireworks-style holofoil layer over the full card — PokeBeach’s description of the treatment — and the same basic set-up: different illustrator, different attack text, same general Basic Pokémon slot. The subset opens with card 017/103, 01/30, illustrated by Ken Sugimori, whose piece recreates his own Pikachu artwork from the Jungle expansion. 037/103 sits twenty cards later in the sequence, at 21/30.

One other entry in the subset with an official image is covered in a companion guide on this site:
- Pikachu 041/103, 25/30, by Atsuko Nishida
We’re not ranking any of the thirty against each other by value here — there isn’t the market data to support it yet. For the full table of all thirty numbers, sub-numbers and illustrators, our 30 Pikachu illustrators guide is the hub page to bookmark.
How 30th Celebration’s Full Numbering Breaks Down
037/103 sits inside the main set block, which has been in the official database since September 9, 2026. As of release day, all 32 secret rares (104–135) have now been seen — the last five surfaced with release-day listings on SNKRDUNK on September 16, 2026 — but that block is still not in the official card database.
| Block | Numbers | Count | Status, Sep 16, 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main set (incl. the 30 Pikachu, 017–046) | 001–103 | 103 | Official database |
| AR (Art Rare) | 104–123 | 20 | Compiled; all shown; not in official database |
| SAR (Special Art Rare) | 124–133 | 10 | Compiled; all shown; not in official database |
| FUR (Futuristic Rare) | 134–135 | 2 | Officially credited to YOSHIROTTEN |
| Classic Collection | 136–165 | 30 | Official database (marked C, not Standard-legal) |
Total: 165 numbered cards plus eight Basic Energy (173 in all; PokeBeach’s headline figure is 176). AR and SAR illustrators remain unpublished; the two FUR cards, the Basic Energy and the FUTURISTIC BOX design are officially YOSHIROTTEN. For the full breakdown, see our numbering explainer.
Box Structure and the Market Since Release
Every pack of 30th CELEBRATION carries six foil cards for ¥360, with one of the thirty Pikachu and one YOSHIROTTEN Basic Energy in every pack. A box holds 20 packs for ¥7,200 tax-in MSRP. PokeBeach reported, from an official box opening shown before release, that one 20-pack box held 20 of the 30 Pikachu with no duplicates, 2 Classic Collection cards, 4 AR, 1 SAR and 1 FUR — one opening, not a published pull rate.
037/103 itself has no dated marketplace figure in this update. The only Pikachu in the 30-card subset with a release-day ask so far is 017/103 (Ken Sugimori), which had a lowest ask of ¥1,000 on SNKRDUNK on September 16, 2026. The sealed box, by contrast, has moved: its lowest SNKRDUNK ask went from ¥47,200 on September 1 to ¥28,200 on September 10 and ¥17,500 on release day, September 16, 2026 — still about 2.4× the ¥7,200 MSRP. For more on the box itself, sealed vs no-shrink, see our booster box guide.
Graded Pikachu: What PSA10 Copies Are Listed At
Since 037/103 has only just been released, this update includes no verified population data for it — PSA10 grading takes time after a card reaches the market. The closest useful comparison is what other graded Pikachu prints are currently listed at on our site, across very different eras and rarities.
Neither of these is a 30th CELEBRATION print or connected to OOYAMA’s illustration credit — they’re shown here purely as a general reference point for where graded Pikachu singles sit on our site right now. Browse the full PSA10 collection for more.
