What are the key facts about the Pikachu Van Gogh PSA 10 card?
It is a Scarlet & Violet Promo card listed on the official Pokémon.com card database as Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat, and our listings sell it as a PSA 10 English Ver. card. The table below pulls together the details that identify it.
| Item | Detail |

The name is the first thing to get right. The card is called Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat on the official card page, and the code on our listings is SVP EN 085. The listing title ends with “English Ver.”, which is the edition marker to look for. The card page describes a Basic Pokémon, so it is not an ex card. If you want to understand the “ex” label that appears on many other modern Pokémon cards, our guide What Does ex Mean on Pokémon Cards? covers it.
How is this guide organised, and who is it for?
This guide is for collectors outside Japan who want to understand the Pikachu Van Gogh PSA 10 before ordering it, and it moves from the card’s origin to the order itself. The order is: origin and timeline, how the promo was given out, card stats, what PSA 10 means, then listing, shipping and payment.
| Step | Question it answers |
|---|---|
| 1. Origin | Where does the card come from, and what is it based on? |
| 2. Timeline | When did the collaboration and the Dutch giveaway happen? |
| 3. Distribution | How could people get the card in the first place? |
| 4. Card details | What are its stats and attack? |
| 5. Grade | What does our PSA 10 listing say? |
| 6. Ordering | Which listings exist, how the order ships, and how to pay |
Every statement about the card’s history comes from a Pokémon page. Every statement about the order comes from our listing text, our shipping policy or our payment methods page. The sections keep those two kinds of source apart so you can see what each one covers.
Where does the Pikachu Van Gogh card come from?
It comes from the Pokémon × Van Gogh Museum collaboration in the Netherlands, tied to two anniversaries. The Pokémon Company International press release dated September 27, 2023 in Amsterdam describes a partnership with the Van Gogh Museum to celebrate the museum’s 50th anniversary, running from September 28, 2023 through January 7, 2024 (press release).
The card itself is inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s 1887 painting Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat. The official news page adds that the card celebrates the 170th anniversary of Van Gogh’s birth as well as the museum’s 50th anniversary (Pokémon.com). The news page is titled “Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat Promo Card (Pokémon × Van Gogh Museum)” and was published on 2 February 2024.
The press release also describes a “Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat” trading card as a promotional card inspired by Van Gogh’s Self Portrait with Grey Felt Hat. It adds six paintings by Pokémon Company artists inspired by Van Gogh works, including a Pikachu inspired by Self-portrait with Grey Felt Hat (1887).
The card is tied to a named museum collaboration, a named painting and a named illustrator, and all of that is documented on Pokémon pages. None of those pages mention PSA grading, so the PSA 10 grade is described only on our product listings.
What is the timeline of the Pokémon × Van Gogh Museum promotion?
The collaboration was announced in September 2023 and ran until January 7, 2024, and the Dutch retail giveaway of the card started on February 10, 2024. The table below puts the dated events from the official pages in order.
| Datum | Gebeurtenis | Source |
|---|---|---|
| September 27, 2023 | Press release issued in Amsterdam announcing the partnership with the Van Gogh Museum | Press release |
| September 28, 2023 | Collaboration begins | Press release |
| January 7, 2024 | Collaboration period ends | Press release |
| February 2, 2024 | Pokémon.com news page about the promo card is published | Pokémon.com news |
| February 10, 2024 | Card available in physical stores at participating Dutch retailers | Pokémon.com news |
The press release covers the collaboration as a whole, including its merchandise and its gift with purchase. The news page covers the Dutch retail giveaway with its €29.99 spend threshold.
How was the Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat promo given out?
The card was given as a gift, and the two official pages describe two routes. Keep them apart: the retail route is on the Pokémon.com news page, and the museum collaboration route is in the press release.
| Route | How you got the card | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Retail promotion, Netherlands | Spend at least €29.99 on Pokémon TCG products in one transaction and receive the card at the till. Limit of one per person per purchase, while stocks last. Available from February 10, 2024. | Pokémon.com news, published February 2, 2024 |
| Museum collaboration | The “Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat” trading card is a gift with purchase of any Pokémon Center × Van Gogh Museum product, while stocks last. | Press release, September 27, 2023 |
The participating retailers named in the February 2024 announcement are Intertoys, Game Mania, Top1Toys, Primera, Bruna, Media Markt, Smyths Toys Superstores, Toychamp and Diverse spellenspeciaalzaken. The news page says the card was available in physical stores only at participating retailers in the Netherlands.
The press release also mentions a separate Pikachu × Van Gogh Museum promo card, given out when a completed Pokémon Adventure leaflet is handed in, subject to availability. The release lists it apart from the “Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat” trading card, so treat them as two items in that document.
The Pokémon Center × Van Gogh Museum merchandise in the press release includes a Van Gogh-inspired Pikachu plush, Trading Card Game sleeves, Pikachu and Eevee figures, poster prints and a jigsaw puzzle. The release says it is sold at pokemoncenter.com (US) and pokemoncenter.ca (Canada) while stocks last.
What are the card’s stats and attack?
Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat is a Basic Pokémon with 60 HP and Lightning type. The official card page lists these details (Pokémon.com):
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Stage | Basic Pokémon |
| HP | 60 |
| Type | Lightning |
| Attack | Pika-Portrait: “Search your deck for a Pikachu and put it onto your Bench. Then, shuffle your deck.” |
| Weakness | Fighting ×2 |
| Resistance | None |
| Retreat cost | 1 |
| Illustrator | Naoyo Kimura |
| Rarity | Not listed on the official page |
The Pika-Portrait attack searches your deck for a Pikachu, puts it onto your Bench, then shuffles your deck. The card has a retreat cost of 1, a Fighting weakness at ×2 and no resistance. The card page shows the number as 85/1 Promo within Scarlet & Violet Promo.
The official page does not list a rarity, so this guide does not assign one. If a seller labels the card with a specific rarity name, check it against the card page.
What does PSA 10 mean for the Pikachu Van Gogh card?
PSA 10 means Gem Mint, which our listing text calls the highest possible grade certifiable by Professional Sports Authenticator. The listing says PSA 10 is “awarded only to cards in flawless, gem mint condition.”
Here is what our listings state about this card:
- The grade. Both listings describe the card as graded PSA 10 (Gem Mint).
- The case. They note that the PSA case may have minor scratches or marks on its surface.
- The stock note. They add that stock levels can change, so in some cases your order may take a little longer to ship.
- The source of history. The Pokémon.com pages do not mention PSA. The promotion history in this guide comes from the official news and press pages, and the grade comes from our listings.
When you compare listings anywhere, check four things: the card name (Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat), the code (SVP EN 085), the edition (English Ver.) and the grade (PSA 10). Our listing names carry all four.
Which Pikachu Van Gogh PSA 10 listings do we have?
We have two product pages for the same card name and code: psa10-614 (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) and psabo-614. Both carry the title “PSA10 Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat: PROMO [SVP EN 085] (SVP EN Promotional cards “Van gogh exhibition”) [English Ver.]” and the same PSA 10 (Gem Mint) description.
The product text does not describe a difference between the two pages, so this guide does not claim one. Our shipping policy explains why a PSA item can need extra time: PSA graded cards may also be offered through our other sales channels, so a PSA item shown online may already be sold before our team locks the allocation for your online order. Once your payment has cleared, we secure the PSA graded card matching your order, even if additional sourcing is required (shipping policy).
The policy therefore asks you to check the delivery schedule shown or communicated for your order, because dispatch may take longer in this situation. We provide status updates whenever the schedule changes.
How do shipping and delivery work for a PSA 10 order?
PSA 10 orders ship by FedEx with a tracking number, and you choose between two service levels. Costs are calculated automatically at checkout from your delivery address.
| Service | Carrier service | Estimated transit after dispatch |
|---|---|---|
| Standaard | FedEx International Connect Plus (tracked) | Usually 3-7 business days |
| Expedited | FedEx International Priority (tracked) | Usually 2-5 business days |
Both transit times are estimates only. The policy also says that most orders are processed and shipped within 5 business days after PayPal or Wise payment has cleared, and that this handling window is an estimate too. Business days exclude weekends and Japanese national holidays. The delivery dates shown at checkout or in carrier tools do not include handling time, pre-order release timing, supplier allocation delays, quality inspection holds, weekends, holidays, customs processing, carrier congestion, weather or destination-country delivery conditions.
- Address. FedEx cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes, so provide a physical shipping address at checkout. The customer is responsible for giving a complete and accurate address.
- Address changes before the shipment is scheduled. While an order is paid and its shipment has not yet been scheduled, you can update the shipping address yourself from My Account > Orders > the order. The destination country cannot be changed, and the carrier, shipping method and FedEx service level remain those selected at checkout.
- Address cost differences. If shipping to the new address costs more, we ask you to pay the difference before dispatch, and the order is held until it is settled. If it costs less, the shipping charge is not recalculated and no refund is made.
- Tracking. Once the order is dispatched you can see the tracking number and the carrier’s latest delivery estimate in your account or shipping confirmation email.
- Customs and carrier delays. After handoff to FedEx, delivery timing is controlled by the carrier and destination-country authorities. Customs inspections, import procedures, remote-area handling, peak season congestion, weather and carrier events may delay delivery, and such transit delays do not by themselves create a right to cancel or refund after dispatch.
- Delays before dispatch. If dispatch is delayed, we contact you by email as soon as practical with a revised estimate. For significant dispatch delays before handoff to FedEx, we may offer the option to wait or to cancel the order with a full refund.
- No minimum order. There is no minimum order amount or quantity, so a single card is fine.
How do you pay for the Pikachu Van Gogh PSA 10, and what does it cost to pay?
All payments are made in Japanese yen (JPY), and the method you choose decides whether a 5% payment processing fee applies. The payment methods page lists Wise, PayPal, credit and debit cards through PayPal, and PayPal Pay Later (payment methods).
| Method | Fee | Key detail |
|---|---|---|
| Wise-bankoverschrijving | No payment processing fee | The only method without the 5% fee. Without a screenshot, the order is cancelled automatically if payment is not received within 12 hours (3 hours if the order contains a pre-order item). With a screenshot, upload within 5 days and the price is held for 10 days in total. Use the reference SST-{order number} exactly as issued. |
| PayPal | 5% payment processing fee | Payment completes immediately at checkout using your PayPal balance or linked funding sources. |
| Credit / debit card (via PayPal) | 5% payment processing fee | Visa, Mastercard, American Express and JCB; which one is offered depends on your country and card. A PayPal account is usually not required. |
| PayPal Pay Later | See the payment methods page | Offered and operated by PayPal, not by us. Availability and terms depend on PayPal and your country. |
If you pay by SWIFT through Wise, a receiving fee of JPY 611 is deducted before the funds reach us, so the page asks you to add JPY 611 to your order total. Correspondent banks may deduct their own fees, and the page asks you to select the OUR charge option so those fees are covered on your side. If the amount we receive is short, order processing is paused until the shortfall has been paid and confirmed.
Any gap between the amount we charge and your statement comes from exchange rates and conversion fees set by your card issuer, bank or PayPal, and is outside our control. The screenshot option for Wise requires an account and is not available at guest checkout.
For a single graded card, the payment page gives you a clear split: Wise carries no processing fee, while PayPal and cards carry 5%. PayPal completes immediately at checkout; Wise orders are confirmed during our business hours in the order received.
What does PayPal Pay Later look like in each country?
PayPal Pay Later splits an eligible order into interest-free instalments, and the product name depends on the buyer’s country. It is offered and operated by PayPal, and the instalment agreement is between you and PayPal.
| Country | PayPal option | Schedule |
|---|---|---|
| Verenigde Staten | PayPal Pay in 4 | 4 payments, one every 2 weeks, first payment at checkout |
| Verenigd Koninkrijk | PayPal Pay in 3 | 3 monthly payments, first payment at checkout |
| France | PayPal Paiement en 4X | 4 monthly payments, first payment at checkout |
| Italy | PayPal Paga in 3 rate | 3 monthly payments, first payment at checkout |
| Spain | PayPal Paga en 3 plazos | 3 monthly payments, first payment at checkout |
| Australië | PayPal Pay in 4 | 4 fortnightly payments, first payment at checkout |
| Canada | PayPal Pay in 4 | 4 payments, one every 2 weeks, first payment at checkout |
In other countries PayPal may show a different option on different terms. Whichever option appears, the terms PayPal displays in its own window are the ones that apply. PayPal decides which option is shown and whether any option is shown at all.
What does the PSA 10 listing say about the card and the case?
The listing says the card is graded PSA 10 (Gem Mint) and that the PSA case may have minor scratches or marks on its surface. That is the whole condition statement on the product pages, and this guide adds nothing to it.
- Grade. PSA 10 (Gem Mint), described as the highest grade certifiable by Professional Sports Authenticator.
- Case wording. Minor scratches or marks may be present on the case surface.
- Edition. The title ends with [English Ver.].
- Distribution. The official news page states that the Van Gogh Museum will not be distributing any further Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat promo cards.
That last line is a statement about the museum’s distribution. It gives no count of how many cards exist or were graded, and this guide gives none. It also gives no forecast of value.
How can you follow your order after you place it?
You can follow your order through your customer account and your emails. Once the products for your order have been secured and the shipment is ready, we update the order status, and you can check that status in your account.
- Status. The order status appears in your customer account once the shipment is ready.
- Tracking. After dispatch, the tracking number and the carrier’s latest delivery estimate are shown in your account or in the shipping confirmation email.
- Schedule changes. For PSA graded cards, we provide status updates whenever the schedule changes.
- After handoff to FedEx. Delivery timing is controlled by the carrier and destination-country authorities, and customs inspections or import procedures may delay delivery.
Which related guides can you read next?
Our related guides cover other cards and sets, and each one is listed here by its title. This card is a Scarlet & Violet Promo with a documented museum link, so it sits apart from the cards in most of these guides.

What should you check before you buy?
Check the card name, the code SVP EN 085, the English Ver. marker, the PSA 10 grade, your shipping address and your payment method, in that order.
- Confirm the product title reads Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat, SVP EN 085, English Ver., PSA 10.
- Read the product description, including the note on possible minor scratches on the PSA case.
- Pick Standard (FedEx International Connect Plus) or Expedited (FedEx International Priority) at checkout.
- Enter a physical address, not a P.O. Box.
- Choose Wise for no payment processing fee, or PayPal or card for payment that completes at checkout; the 5% fee applies to those two.
- Watch your email and account for status updates, since PSA items may need extra sourcing time.
The shipping policy says customs inspections and import procedures may delay delivery after handoff to FedEx, and that such delays are outside our control.
Where can you see the card and order it?
