The Pokemon Crown Zenith Elite Trainer Box holds ten Crown Zenith booster packs and one etched foil promo card featuring Lucario VSTAR, according to its official pokemon.com page, which prints “Launch: January 20, 2023”. The Crown Zenith Booster Bundle is a different story: no pokemon.com page describes it, and Bulbapedia reports it as a Walmart product with six packs from late October or early November 2023.
Per Bulbapedia, Crown Zenith “released as VSTAR Universe high-class expansion pack” in Japan; the official Japanese product page dates VSTAR Universe (S12a) to December 2, 2022 and prices it at ¥550 (~$4) per ten-card pack, tax included.
We sell Japanese sealed product and graded singles from Tokyo, and store prices are listing prices as of October 2, 2026, converted at ¥154 to the dollar.
The official Elite Trainer Box page lists 10 Crown Zenith booster packs and an etched foil Lucario VSTAR promo, and the Booster Bundle has no official page, so everything about its date and contents is reported. The S12A VSTAR Universe box is listed at ¥25,883 (~$168), with the Damaged Box as a separate product at ¥24,848 (~$161) (更新:当前售罄 — 可通过 Quick Order 申请补货).
Official contents lists come from pokemon.com, Japanese card data from the official card database, and English card numbers and the bundle report from Limitless TCG and Bulbapedia.
What the Official Elite Trainer Box Page Lists
The Elite Trainer Box page describes the set as devoted to “helping players reach the highest peaks of competitive gameplay” and ties the box to Lucario through the promo card and the sleeves. It also explains why the box carries ten packs: “because booster packs aren’t sold separately for this expansion, the 10 booster packs available in this Elite Trainer Box offer the perfect opportunity to round out your collection.”
| Component | As printed on the official Crown Zenith Elite Trainer Box page |

Bulbapedia’s merchandise page for the Sword & Shield series lists the same box with two details the official list does not print: it calls the promo an etched Full Art Lucario VSTAR card and adds a Pokémon TCG rulebook. Both details are reported by Bulbapedia, and the official list prints neither. Bulbapedia numbers the promo SWSH 291 and states that the first wave of Crown Zenith merchandise was available from January 20, 2023.
The booster box counterpart of this set has its own comparison in the Crown Zenith booster box vs VSTAR Universe article.
The Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box Plus
The Pokémon Center version has its own official page, titled Crown Zenith Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box Plus, with the same launch of January 20, 2023. The page says the set “can be found only at Pokémon Center” and describes 12 booster packs, “two more than usual,” along with a Lucario deck box, metal damage-counter dice, a metal Lucario coin and metal condition markers. It also prints a pack-size line for the English set: “Each booster pack contains 10 cards and 1 basic Energy or 1 VSTAR marker. Cards vary by pack.”
| Component | Elite Trainer Box | Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Booster packs | 10 | 12 |
| Promo card | 1 etched foil Lucario VSTAR | 1 etched foil Lucario VSTAR |
| Sleeves | 65, featuring Lucario | 65, featuring Lucario |

| 状态 markers | 2 acrylic | 2 metal |

| Collector’s box | 4 dividers | 4 dividers |
| Code card | Pokémon TCG Online or Live | Pokémon TCG Online or Live |

Bulbapedia describes the same difference in its own words: a different box design, metal dice and markers in place of plastic ones, a metal Lucario coin instead of the coin-flip die, a deck box and two more booster packs for a total of twelve. The Pokémon Center page also notes that the Lucario VSTAR promo hits opposing Pokémon V for an extra 120 damage.
The general question of how a standard Elite Trainer Box and a Pokémon Center version differ across sets is answered in the Elite Trainer Box pack-count article.
The Booster Bundle: Reported, Not Official
Pokemon.com’s 2023 product gallery lists the Elite Trainer Box, the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box Plus, a Tin, a Pin Collection, a Pikachu VMAX Special Collection, a Premium Figure Collection, a Premium Playmat Collection and a Regieleki V and Regidrago V collection for Crown Zenith, and it has no Booster Bundle entry. Bulbapedia’s merchandise page describes the bundle: “Walmart stores began to sell Crown Zenith Booster Bundles in late October/early November 2023, each of which included six Crown Zenith booster packs. Unlike the other Crown Zenith merchandise released around the same time, this product featured a design consistent with Scarlet & Violet TCG Series merchandise.”
| Bundle detail | Value | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Contents | Six Crown Zenith booster packs | Reported (Bulbapedia) |
| Retailer | Walmart stores | Reported (Bulbapedia) |
| Timing | Late October or early November 2023 | Reported (Bulbapedia); no exact date |
| Design | Consistent with Scarlet & Violet merchandise | Reported (Bulbapedia) |
| 价格 | No figure published | Not confirmed |
| Official page | None on pokemon.com | Not confirmed |
The ETB page says booster packs aren’t sold separately for this expansion, while Bulbapedia reports a six-pack bundle at Walmart later in 2023.
Crown Zenith and VSTAR Universe Compared
The official Pokemon.com page for Crown Zenith lists the series as Sword & Shield, the release date as January 20, 2023, the card count as “Over 160 cards” and Standard Legal Deck as “No.” Its highlights are 3 brand-new Radiant Pokémon, 5 colossal Pokémon VMAX, 8 shining Pokémon VSTAR, 17 powerful Pokémon V and 70 cards with special artwork in the Galarian Gallery.
| Spec | Crown Zenith (English) | VSTAR Universe S12a (Japanese) |
|---|---|---|
| Release | January 20, 2023 (official) | December 2, 2022 (official Japanese page) |
| Product type | Booster packs not sold separately (official ETB text) | High-class pack (ハイクラスパック) |
| Cards in the set | Over 160 (official); 230 including the Galarian Gallery rows (Limitless TCG) | 254 (Limitless TCG); /172 on database cards |
| 每包内容 | 10 cards and 1 basic Energy or 1 VSTAR marker (official, Pokémon Center ETB Plus page) | 10 张/包 (official) |
| Pack price | Not confirmed | ¥550 (~$4), tax included |
Bulbapedia’s set page calls Crown Zenith “the final special expansion of the Sword & Shield Series” and says that in Japan “it released as VSTAR Universe high-class expansion pack on December 2nd, 2022.” That is Bulbapedia’s statement. The Japanese product is covered in the VSTAR Universe booster box buying guide, the S12a card list and the S12a card list page, while English cards are mapped in the Crown Zenith Japanese card list.
The Lucario VSTAR Promo and Its Japanese Prints
Both Elite Trainer Box pages name a Lucario VSTAR promo but print no card number. Limitless TCG lists the card as Sword & Shield Promos number 291 (SP 291), credited to hncl, and Bulbapedia assigns SWSH 291 to the Crown Zenith ETB and the ETB Plus. The official Japanese database lists three prints of ルカリオVSTAR, each with the same illustrator credit as one of the two English promo numbers.
| English print | Illustrator (Limitless TCG) | Japanese print (official database) | Illustrator (database) | Basis of the pairing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SP 291 (Crown Zenith ETB and ETB Plus promo) | hncl | S12a 226/172 SAR | hncl | Same illustrator credit; Bulbapedia states the print was available in Japan as a Secret Special Art Rare in the VSTAR Universe subset |
| SP 214 | aky CG Works | SLL 005/021 | aky CG Works | Same illustrator credit |
| SP 214 | aky CG Works | S-P 305/S-P | aky CG Works | Same illustrator credit |
The card text is identical on all three Japanese prints: a VSTAR Pokémon with 270 HP that evolves from ルカリオV, Psychic weakness ×2 and a retreat cost of 2. The attack ファイティングナックル, which the official English page calls Fighting Knuckle, costs one Fighting and two Colorless Energy and deals 120 damage plus another 120 when the opponent’s Battle Pokémon is a Pokémon V. The VSTAR Power attack はどうスター, called Aura Star on the official English page, costs one Fighting and one Colorless Energy and deals 70 damage times the number of Energy attached to the opponent’s Pokémon, usable once per game. When a Pokémon VSTAR is Knocked Out, the opponent takes two Prize cards.
Lucario VSTAR SAR 226/172

Bulbapedia states that the SWSH 291 print was available in Japan as a Secret Special Art Rare card in the VSTAR Universe subset, and the illustrator credit of hncl matches. Sharing a credit is not an official statement that the cards are identical. The lowest PSA 10 ask on SNKRDUNK was ¥12,499 (~$81) on October 2, 2026. The store lists PSA 10 Lucario VSTAR SAR [s12a 226/172] as a PSA 10 back order at ¥12,648 (~$82) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms. The physical PSA 10 Lucario VSTAR 226/172 SAR slab is also listed at ¥12,896 (~$84); both listings are graded singles, not boxes.
Lucario VSTAR SLL 005/021

The SLL print belongs to a starter set, and the database shows no rarity icon for it. Bulbapedia says the aky CG Works print was released in Japan in the Lucario VSTAR Starter Set, and that the English card (SWSH 214) came in the Lucario VSTAR Premium Collection from April 8, 2022. The credit is aky CG Works on the English card in Limitless and on the Japanese database entry. The store has no listing of this print and no dated ask is available for it.
Lucario VSTAR S-P 305

The database prints no rarity icon for S-P 305. Bulbapedia calls it a Rainbow Rare print given out as a promotional card in Lucario HR Competitions, events held at Pokémon Centers and participating Pokémon Card Gym stores in three phases between September 30 and December 31, 2022. The store lists it as PSA 10 Lucario VSTAR HR: PROMO [S-P 305], and SNKRDUNK titles it HR: 争奪戦プロモ; both labels are the sellers’ own. SNKRDUNK shows a PSA 10 ask of ¥280,000 (~$1,818) on its product page as of October 2, 2026, a single listing and therefore a weak signal, and the store offers the card as a PSA 10 back order at ¥272,941 (~$1,772). This print shares the aky CG Works credit with SWSH 214 and is not the Crown Zenith ETB promo.
Giratina VSTAR, Arceus VSTAR and Other Graded Listings
Beyond the promo, Limitless TCG pairs two Galarian Gallery cards with VSTAR Universe prints. Limitless TCG lists CRZ GG69 Giratina VSTAR and CRZ GG70 Arceus VSTAR, both credited to AKIRA EGAWA, with VSTAR Universe 261 and 262 among their Japanese prints. That pairing rests on Limitless’s print lists, and the Japanese illustrator credits for 261/172 and 262/172 are not confirmed. The store’s listing titles label both Japanese cards UR.
| 卡牌 | English print (Limitless TCG) | Lowest PSA 10 ask on SNKRDUNK, October 2, 2026 | PSA 10 back order in the store | PSA 10 graded listing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Giratina VSTAR UR s12a 261/172 | CRZ GG69 | ¥42,000 (~$273) | ¥42,840 (~$278) | ¥42,328 (~$275) (更新:当前售罄 — 可通过 Quick Order 申请补货) |
| Arceus VSTAR UR s12a 262/172 | CRZ GG70 | ¥28,980 (~$188) | ¥28,560 (~$185) | ¥29,120 (~$189) |
| Mew VMAX RRR s12a 054/172 | Not confirmed | No dated ask | ¥5,623 (~$37) | No graded listing |
| Rayquaza VMAX RRR s12a 108/172 | Not confirmed | No dated ask | ¥5,712 (~$37) | No graded listing |

Rarity codes for Mew VMAX and Rayquaza VMAX are the codes printed in the listing titles. More S12a chase cards are covered in the Crown Zenith chase cards article, the Mew VSTAR Universe card guide and the Charizard VSTAR Universe card guide.

The two Elite Trainer Box pages are the official ground for the English side. The bundle, the promo numbering and every link between an English card and a Japanese print depend on Bulbapedia, Limitless TCG and illustrator credits.
Dated Asking Prices and Store Listings
Store prices and SNKRDUNK asks describe different things, and both carry the date October 2, 2026. The English Elite Trainer Boxes and the bundle are not sold in the store; the Japanese box and its graded cards are.
| Japanese VSTAR Universe box | Store listing (as of October 2, 2026) | Lowest ask on SNKRDUNK, October 2, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Sealed box | ¥25,883 (~$168) | ¥25,999 (~$169) |
| Damaged Box | Separate product, ¥24,848 (~$161) (更新:当前售罄 — 可通过 Quick Order 申请补货) | No dated figure |
| No Shrink box | Separate product, ¥25,863 (~$168) | No dated figure |
The SNKRDUNK figure is the lowest ask on the product page for the sealed box. The Damaged Box has no matching SNKRDUNK row, and the figures say nothing about the condition of an individual box beyond the product title. The No Shrink S12a vs regular box guide covers the No Shrink box. The back-order process for graded cards is described in the PSA 10 back order guide.

Choosing Between the ETB, the Bundle and the Japanese Box
The official pages print the English product contents; the Japanese box differs on these points.
- Pack count. The ETB lists ten packs and the Pokémon Center ETB Plus lists twelve; the reported bundle holds six; a Japanese pack holds ten cards.
- Promo card. Both Elite Trainer Boxes carry the etched foil Lucario VSTAR; the Japanese box does not list a promo.
- Accessories. Sleeves, Energy cards, dice, markers, a guide and a code card belong to the Elite Trainer Box products, while the Japanese box is a sealed box of packs.
- Availability. The ETB Plus is sold only at Pokémon Center according to its official page; the bundle is reported as a Walmart product.
- Numbering and language. English cards carry numbers such as SP 291 and CRZ GG69; Japanese cards carry /172 numbering and Japanese text.
- Box condition. The Damaged Box and the No Shrink box are separate products with their own prices.
The VSTAR Universe best cards article and the S12a chase list cover the card pool.

常见问题
How many booster packs are in the Crown Zenith Elite Trainer Box?
The official pokemon.com page lists 10 Crown Zenith booster packs, one etched foil Lucario VSTAR promo card, 65 sleeves and 45 Energy cards, with a launch of January 20, 2023. The Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box Plus lists 12 packs, which its page describes as “two more than usual.”
When did the Crown Zenith ETB release?
The official Elite Trainer Box page prints “Launch: January 20, 2023,” and the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box Plus carries the same date. The Japanese counterpart, VSTAR Universe, was dated December 2, 2022 on the official Japanese page, before the English set.
Is there a Crown Zenith Booster Bundle?
Bulbapedia reports that Walmart stores began selling Crown Zenith Booster Bundles in late October or early November 2023, each with six Crown Zenith booster packs. No pokemon.com page describes the bundle, so its date, price and contents are reported rather than official.
How much does the Crown Zenith ETB cost?
The official Elite Trainer Box and Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box Plus pages print no price, so a retail price is not confirmed. For the Japanese side, the official page prints ¥550 (~$4) for each ten-card VSTAR Universe pack, tax included; a whole box is priced by the seller.
Which promo card comes in the Crown Zenith ETB?
The official page lists an etched foil promo card featuring Lucario VSTAR. Bulbapedia numbers it SWSH 291 and credits hncl in its card captions, and Limitless TCG lists it as SP 291. Bulbapedia reports that this print was available in Japan as a Secret Special Art Rare in VSTAR Universe; the S12a 226/172 SAR carries the same hncl credit.
What is the difference between the ETB and the Pokémon Center ETB Plus?
The Plus version holds 12 packs against 10, adds a Lucario deck box, and swaps plastic dice and markers for metal ones plus a metal Lucario coin. Its page says it can be found only at Pokémon Center. Both include the etched foil Lucario VSTAR promo and 65 sleeves.
Is the VSTAR Universe box the same as the Crown Zenith set?
No official page says so. Bulbapedia states that Crown Zenith released in Japan as the VSTAR Universe high-class pack on December 2, 2022. Card counts differ: over 160 officially for Crown Zenith, 254 for S12a per Limitless TCG. The two are related, not one identical product.
How much is the Japanese VSTAR Universe box?
The S12A VSTAR Universe sealed box is listed at ¥25,883 (~$168), and the separate Damaged Box product at ¥24,848 (~$161) (更新:当前售罄 — 可通过 Quick Order 申请补货). The lowest ask for the sealed box on SNKRDUNK was ¥25,999 (~$169) on October 2, 2026; an ask is what a seller is requesting, not a completed sale.
