Payment update
Your card now works at our checkout, and buyers in seven countries can split an order into instalments.
Since August 21, 2026 the checkout has carried the full PayPal button stack. That means the PayPal button, a black Debit or Credit Card button, and a PayPal Pay Later button for buyers PayPal judges eligible. Visa, Mastercard, American Express and JCB all run through PayPal’s secure window. Wise bank transfer is still available, and it still carries no fee.

What is new: cards and instalments at our checkout
For most of this store’s life there were two ways to pay for a sealed box from Japan, PayPal or a Wise bank transfer. Both of them work, but neither is quick to reach for at eleven at night, when a case of boxes has just gone live and the stock counter is already moving.
We have now closed that gap. Since August 21, 2026, our checkout carries the full PayPal smart-button stack, so three separate buttons sit together in the payment step:
- The PayPal button. The familiar one, for anyone who already has an account and wants to pay from a balance or a linked funding source.
- A black Debit or Credit Card button. This is the new one. Tap it and a secure PayPal window opens where you type your card number directly.
- A PayPal Pay Later button. This one is shown to buyers PayPal judges eligible, and it splits a bigger order into instalments. See the country table below.*
Nothing was taken away to make room for them. Wise bank transfer still sits alongside, and it is still the only method with no payment processing fee.
The cards we accept, through PayPal
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
- JCB
All four are processed through PayPal’s secure hosted window rather than by us. The practical effect is that the card details never touch our store. We never see them and we never store them.
How to pay by card, in five steps
If you have ever bought anything online, this will take you well under a minute.
- Choose your itemsAdd the sealed boxes, cases or graded cards you want to the cart from the Quick Order list on the home page.
- Go to checkoutFill in your delivery address so the shipping quote and the order total are final before you pay.
- Click the black Debit or Credit Card buttonYou will find it in the PayPal buttons area of the payment step, directly under the yellow PayPal button.
- Enter your card in the secure PayPal windowA PayPal window opens on top of the page. Type your Visa, Mastercard, American Express or JCB details there and confirm.
- Order confirmedThe window closes and your order is confirmed instantly, with no wait for a transfer to arrive and no emails going back and forth.
About PayPal accounts: a PayPal account is usually not required to use the card button. PayPal may occasionally ask you to sign in or create one, depending on the card, the amount and its own checks at that moment.
Split your order with PayPal Pay in 4 or PayPal Pay in 3
A sealed case is a large purchase. If PayPal considers you eligible, a PayPal Pay Later button appears in the same buttons area, and the order is broken into instalments instead of one charge. The first payment is taken at checkout and the rest follow on a fixed schedule. Your order is confirmed straight away, exactly as it would be on a single card payment. The instalments after that are between you and PayPal.*
The product name changes from country to country, because PayPal offers a different product in each one. These are the seven countries where we see it at our checkout, and every one of these options is interest-free:
| Country | Option at checkout | How it splits | Interest |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | PayPal Pay in 4 | 4 payments, one every 2 weeks, first at checkout | 0% interest |
| United Kingdom | PayPal Pay in 3 | 3 monthly payments, first at checkout | 0% interest |
| France | PayPal Paiement en 4X | 4 monthly payments, first at checkout | 0% interest |
| Italy | PayPal Paga in 3 rate | 3 monthly payments, first at checkout | 0% interest |
| Spain | PayPal Paga en 3 plazos | 3 monthly payments, first at checkout | 0% interest |
| Australia | PayPal Pay in 4 | 4 fortnightly payments, first at checkout | 0% interest |
| Canada | PayPal Pay in 4 | 4 payments, one every 2 weeks, first at checkout | 0% interest |
PayPal updates these products from time to time, so treat this table as a snapshot. Each country name above links to the official PayPal page, where the current terms are always shown. In some other countries PayPal may show different options at checkout, and the terms PayPal displays always apply.
PayPal Pay Later is not offered to buyers in Japan.
Collectors in Europe are already splitting their orders this way.
Since launch we have taken real PayPal Pay Later orders from Italy, Spain and France.
To be clear about one thing, we do not decide who gets to use it. The button appears, or it does not, on the basis of PayPal’s own assessment of your country, your account and the amount in the cart. If you do not see it, the card button and the PayPal button are still available to you.

Paying by card does not take you out of the shipping campaign. It runs until September 10 and it applies to the same order. Where free shipping starts depends on where the parcel is going, so here is the whole ladder in one place. Each step is its own coupon code, and using one unlocks the next.

The threshold is the product subtotal, which is the value of the items in the cart before shipping, before tax and before any discount. The delivery address decides which coupon applies. One use per account per step, one coupon per order, and a step of this campaign cannot be combined with another coupon code.

And 500 points for creating an account
Create an account and 500 points, worth ¥500, are added to it automatically. Points can pay for up to 20% of an order, and each batch expires 30 days after it is credited.
Fees, currency and what you actually pay
Speed has a price, and we would rather you read about it here than meet it at the last step. A line called Payment processing fee (5%) is added at checkout on every payment in the PayPal family, which covers the card button, the PayPal button and PayPal Pay Later. It is 5% of the final total.
Wise bank transfer has no fee. If you are placing a large order and the transfer is not a problem for you, that remains the cheapest way to buy from us, and we have not changed a thing about it.
Our prices are shown in Japanese yen. If your card or your PayPal account is held in another currency, PayPal or your card issuer converts the amount, and their conversion charges apply on top. Those charges are theirs, not ours, and they are the same ones you would see on any other yen purchase.
| Method | Fee | Speed | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wise bank transfer | No fee | Slower. We confirm the order once the transfer shows up on our side | Large orders, when you would rather not pay the 5% and can wait for the transfer |
| Card or PayPal | Payment processing fee (5%) | Instant. The order is confirmed as soon as the payment goes through | Moving fast on stock that is selling out, or not wanting to arrange a bank transfer |
| PayPal Pay Later | Payment processing fee (5%) | Instant. The order is confirmed as soon as the first payment goes through | Spreading a bigger sealed-product order across several interest-free payments |
The 5% is calculated on the final total, so it moves with your cart and your shipping. The exact figure is always shown on its own line at checkout before you confirm anything.
Why paying by card here is safe
Handing a card number to a shop on the other side of the world is a fair thing to hesitate over, so here is what actually happens at our checkout.
The card details are entered on PayPal, not on our store
Clicking the black card button opens PayPal’s secure hosted window. The card number, the expiry date and the security code are all typed into that window, and they go straight to PayPal. They do not pass through our checkout on the way. We never see your card details and we never store them, so there is nothing about your card sitting in our systems to be lost later.
You are already using this processor
Nothing about our payment processor changed on August 21. PayPal has been handling our payments all along, and what is new is that PayPal now also presents a card window and, where it is offered, instalments. The card button is another entry point to the same payment system.
You usually do not need a PayPal account
A PayPal account is usually not required. Type the card details, confirm, and you are back on our confirmation page. PayPal may occasionally ask you to sign in or create one. That decision is PayPal’s, it is made at the moment you pay, and there is nothing we can switch off at our end.
Questions
Which cards can I use?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express and JCB. All four are processed through PayPal’s secure hosted window, which opens when you click the black Debit or Credit Card button in the PayPal buttons area at checkout.
Is there a fee for paying by card?
Yes. A line called Payment processing fee (5%) is added at checkout, and it is 5% of the final total. It applies to card payments, PayPal payments and PayPal Pay Later payments alike. Wise bank transfer has no fee.
Which countries can split an order into instalments?
At our checkout we see PayPal Pay Later options in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Australia and Canada, listed with their exact split in the table above. In some other countries PayPal may show different options at checkout, and the terms PayPal displays always apply. PayPal Pay Later is not offered to buyers in Japan.
Is it really interest-free?
The seven options in the table above are 0% interest. PayPal may show other options with different terms, so always check what PayPal displays for you at checkout before you accept it. The terms on PayPal’s screen are the ones that apply.
Do I need a PayPal account to pay by card?
A PayPal account is usually not required. PayPal may occasionally ask you to sign in or create one. That decision is PayPal’s and it is made at the moment you pay.
Do you see or store my card number?
No. The card details are entered in PayPal’s secure hosted window, not on our store. We never see them and we never store them.
What currency am I charged in?
Our prices are in Japanese yen. If your card or your PayPal account is held in another currency, PayPal or your card issuer converts the amount, and their currency conversion charges apply.
Does Wise bank transfer still work?
Yes, exactly as before, and it is still the one method with no payment processing fee. Nothing was removed when the card and PayPal Pay Later buttons arrived.
The small print
*Terms and eligibility apply. Pay Later options are offered by PayPal; availability depends on your country, purchase amount, and PayPal’s approval.
