Two Lugia cards are listed in Pokémon’s 30th CELEBRATION set (M6a) — both confirmed in the official card database published September 9, 2026 — and they could hardly be more different. One is a brand-new Lugia at 097/103 carrying a 250-damage attack. The other is number 142/103: a special-specification revival of the “Crystal” Lugia, one of the thirty historic cards the set reprints for the anniversary.
30th CELEBRATION released on September 16, 2026. Dated SNKRDUNK asks are now available for both Lugia prints: ¥1,000 for 097/103 and ¥22,000 for 142/103 on September 18. These are asking prices, separate from the earlier forecast and our store listings.

The Two Lugia Cards in 30th Celebration
The Japanese set totals 165 numbered cards plus 8 Basic Energy (173 in all; PokeBeach’s headline figure is 176), per PokeBeach’s September 9 count: 103 main-set cards (including the 30 Pikachu and 10 Pokémon ex), 32 secret rares (AR/SAR/FUR, numbers 104–135) and the 30-card Classic Collection block (136–165). Lugia’s two cards sit in two different blocks:
| Card | Number | Type of card | Standard legal? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lugia (new) | 097/103 | Main-set card, Colorless; no rarity icon is displayed in the official entry | Regular set card |
| Lugia “Crystal” reprint | 142/103 | 30th special-specification reprint of the Aquapolis-era Crystal Lugia | No — not usable in current Standard (official) |
Both cards are listed in the official card database (published September 9, 2026): the new Lugia appears in the legendary Pokémon section alongside cards like Ho-Oh 007/103 (covered in our separate Ho-Oh 30th Celebration guide), while the reprint sits in the Classic Collection block between the Base Set-era Charizard (137/103) and Dark Tyranitar (144/103).

Lugia 097/103: The New Card

The official entry for Lugia 097/103 credits Kazuki Minami and identifies a Basic Colorless Pokémon with HP 120. Its card image carries regulation mark J; the database displays no rarity icon for this print.
Its attack, エレメンタルブラスト, does 250 damage and requires discarding one Fire, one Water and one Lightning Energy attached to this Pokémon. This is a rendering of the Japanese effect text, without an inference about deck strength or tournament use. The database separately flags the entry as unusable at CL2027 Yokohama.
The lowest asking price on SNKRDUNK on September 18, 2026 was ¥1,000. Selected condition-A seller asks were ¥1,000 and ¥1,200. For dated figures on earlier prints, see our Lugia cards value guide.
Crystal Lugia 142/103: The Historic Reprint

Listed in the official card database as card 142/103 (illustrator: Naoyo Kimura), it revives the “Crystal” Lugia — identified by PokeBeach as the Crystal Lugia from the English Aquapolis set. The official Japanese entry for the reprint gives the following effects:
- Poké-Body: Crystal Type — when you attach a basic Fire, Water or Psychic Energy card from your hand to this Pokémon, its type becomes the same as that Energy until the end of the turn.
- サイコキネシス — 10 damage for each Energy card attached to the Defending Pokémon.
- スチームブラスト — 50 damage; discard one Energy card attached to this Pokémon.
The database publishes the full Japanese effect text and lists HP 80. The card image carries no regulation letter. The original e3 090/087 print is not listed in the current online database, so a word-for-word comparison of the original and reprint is not claimed here.
The official page states twice that the special-specification reprints cannot be used in the current Standard regulation — they are only playable in formats where the original card is legal. Buy 142/103 as a collectible, not a tournament card.
This is the same rule that applies to the reprinted Charizard 137/103, which we break down in our Charizard 30th Celebration reprint guide.
For a side-by-side look at this reprint against the card it revives, see our Crystal Lugia 142/103: 30th Celebration vs. Original e3 090/087 guide. The graded original — PSA10 Lugia Crystal type: 1ED [e3 090/087] — is listed as a PSA back order on our site; sourcing requests go through Quick Order.

All 30 names, numbers and illustrators are confirmed in the official card database. PokeBeach’s original 1 June 2026 reconstruction — built from cards flashing in the official site’s opening movie — held up across the board, including Crystal Lugia, which was on the list from day one. The original printings labelled “official EN” are confirmed in the official English anniversary hub, which also confirms Charizard and Pikachu & Zekrom-GX. The remaining reported attributions follow PokeBeach / Bill’s Archive.
Our 30th Celebration chase-card list tracks the AR/SAR/FUR secret rares — all 32 (104–135) have now been seen, with the last five surfacing in release-day listings (SNKRDUNK, September 16, 2026), though the block is still not in the official card database.
