How Many One Piece Card Sets Are There? (As of September 2026)
The One Piece Card Game launched in Japan on 8 July 2022, ahead of a global English release on 2 December 2022. It opened with four themed Starter Decks — Straw Hat Crew, Worst Generation, Seven Warlords of the Sea and Animal Kingdom Pirates — and has grown into four separate numbered product lines since.

That’s 59 individually numbered products across the four main lines. Bandai’s card-list also carries Family Deck Sets, Promotion cards and Limited Product cards, but those sit outside any single numbering sequence — there’s no “FDS-01 to FDS-N” style count to add to the table above, which is one of the reasons a single combined total doesn’t exist officially.
Why There’s No Official “Total Card Count”
Search for “how many One Piece cards are there” and you’ll find confident-sounding numbers that don’t agree with each other. One fan database totals roughly 4,348 cards across OP-01–OP-14 plus Starter Decks, Event Boosters and Promos. A separate retailer’s own listing count runs to roughly 5,379. Neither figure comes from Bandai, and we’re treating both as unverified rather than presenting either as the real total.
The gap between those two numbers comes down to counting method, not a factual disagreement:
- Base cards only counts one entry per card number per set — the smallest possible total.
- Every parallel counted separately adds a line for each alternate-art or foil version of the same card number, which inflates the count considerably in sets with heavy parallel programmes.
- Which product lines are included varies too — some counts stop at OP-14 or exclude Extra/Premium Boosters and Promos entirely, others don’t.
Until Bandai itself publishes a running grand total, any single number you see quoted is a snapshot built on someone else’s counting rules, not an official statistic. The scoped, verifiable answer is the set-by-set breakdown in the table above.
How Many Cards Are in a Single Set? OP-16 as a Worked Example

That per-pack and per-box figure comes from retail corroboration rather than Bandai’s own product page, so treat the “24 packs per box” line as trade-standard rather than an official Bandai statistic — the 126+1 card-type figure is the one that comes directly from Bandai. Scale that same exercise across all 17 numbered Booster Packs and you can see why a single combined total is hard to pin down: every set has its own card-type count, and Bandai doesn’t add them together publicly.
Booster Packs vs Starter Decks vs Extra and Premium Boosters
The four numbered product lines aren’t interchangeable, and knowing which is which helps explain why the “how many cards” question needs a line-by-line answer rather than one number.
Booster Packs (OP-01–OP-17) are the main-line releases — random packs of new cards, each set built around a themed mechanic or story arc, and the line most people mean when they ask about “a new One Piece set.” OP-17, “The World’s Strongest Warriors,” is the newest as of this writing.
Starter Decks (ST-01–ST-36) are preconstructed decks with fixed card lists. They’re the format the game launched with in July 2022, and the official product line reaches ST-36 as of the dated snapshot used here.
Extra Boosters (EB-01–EB-04) sit outside the main numbered sequence and typically revisit or crossover with earlier story arcs; EB-04, “EGGHEAD CRISIS,” is the latest.
Premium Boosters (PRB-01–PRB-02) are curated reprint/best-of style releases — PRB-02, “ONE PIECE CARD THE BEST vol.2,” pulls notable cards from across earlier sets into one product rather than introducing an entirely new pool.
