OP-03 is out of print in both Japan and English. That combination usually means a set has faded from the conversation. OP-03 hasn’t, because its chase list includes a Leader whose own win condition eventually got it banned from competitive play.
OP-03 went on sale in Japan as 強大な敵 (Kyōdai na Teki, literally “Formidable Enemy”) on February 11, 2023. On our site and in most English-language coverage it’s known by its localized title, “Pillars of Strength” — same set code, same 127 card types, same box. The English version followed in September 2023. OP-03 is also notable for introducing Yellow as a playable colour for the first time in the card game.
This guide covers exactly what’s inside an OP-03 box, the named chase cards to watch for, what’s actually listed on our site right now, and how the Japanese and English versions of this set compare. We ship Japanese sealed product and PSA-graded singles out of Tokyo, so every price below is our own current listing.
OP-03 (Pillars of Strength / 強大な敵) released in Japan on February 11, 2023, with 127 card types across 24 packs per box. The set’s headline chase is Sogeking OP03-122, a Manga Rare Comic Parallel drawn from the Water 7 arc, alongside Nami OP03-040, a Leader Parallel built around a “deck-out victory” win condition that was later banned from competitive play. The box itself is currently listed as our OP-03 Damaged Box at ¥17,860 (~$112), and a PSA10 Sogeking single is currently listed at ¥152,645 (~$960).
Yen figures below convert at ¥159/USD (September 2026). Prices are our own current listings — check the linked product page for the live number before ordering.
What’s in an OP-03 Booster Box
OP-03 — 強大な敵, sold internationally as Pillars of Strength — holds 24 packs per box, with a tax-included MSRP of ¥4,752 at Japanese release. The pack/box structure for OP-03 specifically wasn’t re-confirmed against a live official product page this session; going by the standard OPTCG box format confirmed elsewhere in the line, that works out to 6 cards per pack.
The set carries 127 card types (JPN), with a rarity breakdown of 45 Common, 32 Uncommon, 26 Rare, 10 Super Rare, 2 Secret Rare, and 4 Special Card. Eight Leaders headline the set: Ace, Kuro, Arlong, Nami, Iceberg, Rob Lucci, Charlotte Linlin, and Charlotte Katakuri. OP-03 also introduced Yellow as a playable colour for the first time in the card game — a structural addition, not just a new set of cards.
OP-03 is out of print in both Japanese and English print runs. That’s a production-status fact, not an availability one on our site — we still carry a live OP-03 box listing, covered below.
Chase Cards in OP-03
Four named cards define why collectors still open OP-03 boxes: two Comic/Leader Parallels, one Special Card, and a Secret Rare.
| Card | Number | Chase tier | Currently listed PSA10 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sogeking | OP03-122 | Manga (Comic Parallel) | SEC-SP print, ¥152,645 (~$960) |
| Nami | OP03-040 | Leader (L) Parallel | L-P print, ¥39,255 (~$247) |
| Monkey D. Luffy | ST01-012 | SP (WANTED poster design) | SR-SPC print, ¥55,342 (~$348) |
| Charlotte Katakuri | OP03-123 | SEC | SEC-P print, ¥17,699 (~$111) |
Sogeking — OP03-122, the Manga Rare

Sogeking’s OP03-122 print draws its Comic Parallel artwork directly from the Water 7 arc’s manga panels, which is what puts it at the top of the set’s chase list. It’s the set’s top chase.

Nami — OP03-040, the banned Leader Parallel

Nami’s OP03-040 Leader built her deck around a “deck-out victory” win condition — winning by forcing an opponent to run out of cards rather than reducing their life to zero. It proved strong enough that the strategy was later banned from competitive play, which is part of what keeps this specific printing in demand among collectors who followed the format’s history.

Monkey D. Luffy WANTED Parallel and Charlotte Katakuri SEC
The third and fourth named chases round out the list. Monkey D. Luffy, ST01-012, is a Special Card built around a WANTED-poster design — note the card number sits outside the OP-03 range. Our PSA10 SR-SPC listing of this print is currently at ¥55,342 (~$348). Charlotte Katakuri, OP03-123, is the set’s Secret Rare, and the PSA10 single below is the standard booster-pack pull.

Worth being precise here: our catalogue also holds a separate Charlotte Katakuri SEC print distributed as a tournament souvenir rather than a booster-pack pull. That’s a different distribution entirely — the OP03-123 single above is the standard print that comes out of an OP-03 box, not the tournament promo. For a full accounting of the pull structure across the whole set, see our OP-03 pull rates and best cards guide.
Regular Box vs Damaged Box on Our Site

On our site, sealed booster boxes can be listed under more than one condition category, and for OP-03 only one of those categories has a live listing right now. The box currently available is the OP-03 Pillars of Strength Japanese One Piece Booster Box — Damaged Box currently listed at ¥17,860 (~$112).
The regular (non-Damaged) OP-03 box is not listed on our site at the moment. Given the set is out of print in Japan, sourcing requests for the regular box go through Quick Order — the Damaged Box listing above is the box currently available on our site.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s inside an OP-03 booster box?
An OP-03 box holds 24 packs, drawn from a 127 card-type set (JPN) covering eight Leaders, Commons, Uncommons, Rares, Super Rares, two Secret Rares, and four Special Cards. OP-03 also introduced Yellow as a playable colour for the first time in the card game.
What is the chase card in OP-03?
The headline chase is Sogeking OP03-122, a Manga Rare Comic Parallel drawn from the Water 7 arc. Nami OP03-040, a Leader Parallel built around a deck-out win condition later banned from competitive play, is another headline chase, alongside the Luffy ST01-012 Special Card and the Charlotte Katakuri OP03-123 Secret Rare.
Is the OP-03 booster box currently listed on your site?
Only the Damaged Box variant is currently listed, at ¥17,860 (~$112). The regular (non-Damaged) box isn’t listed on our site at the moment; sourcing requests for it go through Quick Order.
Does “out of print” mean OP-03 is no longer available to buy?
No. “Out of print” describes the set’s original production run in Japan and English — it doesn’t mean we can’t sell it. Our OP-03 Damaged Box listing above is a live, currently listed product.
Is there an English version of OP-03?
Yes. Pillars of Strength is the English release of the same OP-03 set the Japanese card game calls 強大な敵 (“Formidable Enemy”). It released in September 2023, roughly seven months after the February 11, 2023 Japanese release, and carries 154 card types once English-exclusive parallels are counted, versus 127 in the Japanese release.
Is the Charlotte Katakuri single you sell the tournament promo version?
No. The PSA10 Charlotte Katakuri currently listed on our site is the standard OP03-123 booster-pack pull. A separate Katakuri Secret Rare distributed as a tournament souvenir exists in our wider catalogue, but that’s a different distribution and not the same listing.
