Three Japanese 30th anniversary Pokemon products carry the 30th CELEBRATION name, and they are not the same kind of purchase. One is a pack-opening product. One is a pair of ready-built decks with two guaranteed full-art chase cards. One is a promo-and-accessory box with no packs at all. Confusing them is the easiest way to buy the wrong thing.
30th CELEBRATION (M6a) released on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. The Premium Deck Set Espeon & Umbreon and the FUTURISTIC BOX released in Japan the same day, as Pokémon Center products. What is actually inside each of the three, at its official MSRP, makes the choice a matter of what you want to do with the product — open packs, play a constructed deck, or own a display box — rather than a guess about resale value.
The 30th CELEBRATION Booster Box (MSRP ¥7,200, 20 packs) is the only one of the three built around opening packs and chasing secret rares. The Premium Deck Set Espeon & Umbreon (MSRP ¥6,200) gives two fixed 60-card decks plus two guaranteed full-art chase cards — no randomness. The FUTURISTIC BOX (MSRP ¥27,500) contains two FUR-treatment promo Pikachu ex, guaranteed, and a set of display accessories, with no booster packs inside at all.

Japanese 30th Anniversary Pokemon Products at a Glance
| Product | MSRP | Contains packs? | Our listing | SNKRDUNK release-day ask |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 30th CELEBRATION Booster Box | ¥7,200 | Yes — 20 packs | Sealed ¥26,449 (~$172) / No Shrink ¥24,912 (~$162) | ¥17,500 (shrink) |
| FUTURISTIC BOX | ¥27,500 | No packs — promos + accessories | The FUTURISTIC BOX is sold out at the time of this update — sourcing requests go through Quick Order | ¥49,500 |
| Premium Deck Set Espeon & Umbreon | ¥6,200 | No — two fixed 60-card decks | ¥17,999 (~$117) | ¥17,800 |
The single biggest difference: only the Booster Box contains booster packs. The other two are fixed-content products — you know exactly which cards are inside before you open the box.
Booster Box: For Opening Packs
A box is 20 packs at the official Japanese MSRP of ¥360 each (¥7,200 total), with six foil cards per pack. The official Japanese product page states one Basic Energy per pack and its Pikachu feature graphic states one Pikachu card per pack. PokeBeach also reported the pack structure. PokeBeach’s account of one official pre-release opening showed 20 different Pikachu, 2 Classic Collection cards, 4 AR, 1 SAR and 1 FUR in one box. That is one reported opening, not a published pull rate or a guarantee for every box. See our pack guarantees and pull-rate evidence for the source distinction.
What this product is for: buyers who want to open packs and collect the set across its different rarity groups. The 30 Pikachu holo illustrations (017–046) sit within the main numbered set; they are not the AR/SAR/FUR secret-rare block. Which secret cards a particular box contains is uncertain. Keep the 30th Celebration card list beside you when sorting a box, and do not buy a second box on the assumption that it must complete the missing cards.
Our Booster Box guide has the full breakdown of the sealed vs no-shrink options.
Premium Deck Set: For Guaranteed Cards and Playable Decks
This product has no randomness at all. It is two fixed 60-card constructed decks — an Espeon ex deck and an Umbreon ex deck — built from a 44-card numbered gallery (001–044) plus Basic Energy cards. Every buyer gets the same cards, including the two guaranteed full-art chase cards, Espeon ex (043) and Umbreon ex (044), both by REND, plus two extra illustration cards, Victini (041) and Zeraora (042).
The official Japanese Premium Deck Set page lists the fixed deck contents and accessories. The box also includes damage-counter and marker sheets, two coins (one Espeon, one Umbreon), a paper 30th-anniversary playmat, and a slide-type double deck case (tin) — everything needed to sit down and play both decks immediately.
What this product is for: buyers who want to actually build and play with the cards rather than gamble on packs, Eeveelution collectors who want Espeon ex and Umbreon ex guaranteed rather than hoped for, and anyone who wants the full-art 043/044 pair without opening a single booster.
Our Premium Deck Set guide has the complete deck contents.
FUTURISTIC BOX: For the Promo Pair and Accessories
The FUTURISTIC BOX is the odd one out: there are no booster packs inside it at all. Its guaranteed contents are two promo Pikachu ex cards (numbered 131 and 132 in the M-P promo range), both by YOSHIROTTEN in the same Futuristic Rare treatment as the set’s Mewtwo ex (134) and Mew ex (135) secret rares — one each of two designs. Around those two promos, the box packs in accessories: two coins, 12 metal damage dice, metal Poison and Burn markers, 64 deck sleeves, a flip deck case, a display frame, a rubber playmat, a flip damage-counter case and a flip playmat case.
What this product is for: buyers who specifically want the FUR-treatment Pikachu ex promo pair and a matched set of premium accessories for display or tournament use — not buyers looking to open packs, since there simply aren’t any inside.
Our FUTURISTIC BOX guide covers the full accessory list.
Which One Fits You
- You want the chance at a secret rare and don’t mind randomness: the Booster Box. It’s the only one of the three with actual packs, and the only one where the AR/SAR/FUR block is even in play.
- You want guaranteed cards you can play with immediately: the Premium Deck Set. Two complete 60-card decks, two guaranteed full-art ex cards, no packs to open.
- You specifically want the FUR Pikachu ex promo pair and tournament-grade accessories: the FUTURISTIC BOX. It is not a card-opening product, so buy it for what’s guaranteed inside, not for pack odds.
These three answer different questions, so it’s reasonable to want more than one — a Booster Box for the chase alongside a Premium Deck Set for something fixed to keep, for example.
Weight and box size before you order
The contents also explain the difference in size. These are the product weights and dimensions recorded in our WooCommerce catalogue as of September 20, 2026. They are not a carrier quote or a measurement of the final packed parcel.
| Product | Catalogue weight | Length × width × height | What you are buying |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30th CELEBRATION Booster Box | 0.32 kg | 14 × 13.7 × 3.6 cm | 20 packs for opening |
| FUTURISTIC BOX | 2.7 kg | 33.5 × 21 × 11 cm | Fixed promo pair and accessories |
| Premium Deck Set Espeon & Umbreon | 0.7 kg | 24.6 × 10.3 × 8 cm | Two constructed decks and accessories |
The FUTURISTIC BOX is about 8.4 times the Booster Box’s listed weight. That difference comes with a much larger accessory package; it does not mean more booster packs, since the FUTURISTIC BOX contains none. For a shelf display, compare the dimensions as well as the promo cards. For a pack-opening session, compare the Booster Box’s 20 packs with the actual pack contents of any other product under consideration.
Use the selected product page and checkout for current availability, dispatch information and shipping charges. Do not multiply a catalogue weight by a guessed shipping rate: the final parcel includes its packing materials, and a product’s dimensions are not a promised parcel size.
The Card Set All 9 Types bundle (released October 16, 2026) is a fourth, separate product line. It has its own separate-order checkout rule; it should not be mistaken for the Booster Box, Premium Deck Set or FUTURISTIC BOX.
Release-Day Market Snapshot
On September 16, 2026, the recorded SNKRDUNK asking prices were ¥17,500 for a sealed (shrink) M6a Booster Box, ¥49,500 for the FUTURISTIC BOX and ¥17,800 for the Premium Deck Set. Those observations were about 2.4, 1.8 and 2.9 times the respective Japanese MSRP. They are dated seller asks, not completed sales or current offers. Compare the fixed contents and your collecting goal before deciding how much to pay.
