What Sealed, Damaged, and Grade B Mean
Both Damaged listings keep the box’s shrink wrap and sealed packs intact — only the outer cardboard condition differs. Our Damaged Box listings (the SV2A page reads) state the general category: “Sealed with shrink wrap intact. This box is unopened and still sealed in its original shrink wrap. It is discounted because of cosmetic damage to the outer box (e.g., dents or scratches). The cards inside are unaffected,” and separate the two grades: “Damage grade A: This box has minor cosmetic damage to the outer box, such as small dents or scuffs. Grade B boxes (sold separately) have more noticeable damage such as larger dents, creases, or scuffs. In both grades the cards inside are unaffected.”
Our Grade B listings (the SV2A page reads) define the tier as: “Grade B: More noticeable cosmetic damage to the outer box, such as dents, creases, or scuffs. Original shrink wrap is present and may also show wear or damage.” Every discounted listing on the site carries the same checkout acknowledgement: “This order contains discounted item(s) sold at a reduced price due to cosmetic condition issues (e.g., damaged shrink wrap, dented box). The cards inside are unaffected.” And a standard caveat applies to the photos: “Photos are samples. They show representative examples of the condition. The actual item you receive may differ from the photos.”
Our own Damaged Box pricing review is a useful reminder before assuming either listing saves money: “‘Damaged Box’ sounds like a discount.” Its finding was that for five of the six sets it checked, it wasn’t one — which is exactly what S8b’s plain Damaged Box listing shows below.

What’s Inside a VMAX Climax Box
VMAX Climax released in Japan on December 3, 2021, as a High Class Pack (ハイクラスパック). Each pack retails at ¥550 (tax included) for 11 cards, with one foil Basic Energy guaranteed per pack per the official product page. Packs-per-box and box MSRP are not stated on the official page and are not stated in our VMAX Climax buying guide either — the guide is explicit: “We’re not going to guess at pack counts or box configuration here.”
The official card database catalogues 279 entries for the set. The guide describes the secret tier this way: “As catalogued by Limitless TCG, the set runs to 277 cards, with 65 of those falling into the secret-tier range above the base set — split between two rarities: 42 Character Super Rare (CSR) and 23 Secret Rare.”
The CSR and CHR Chase Cards
Our guide names Umbreon VMAX as the set’s signature pull: “Umbreon VMAX (245/184, CSR) renders the Eeveelution in the set’s painted illustration style, and it’s the card most people picture when they hear ‘VMAX Climax.’” Below that tier, two cards carry the CHR designation: “Dedenne (200/184) and Jolteon (193/184) both carry the CHR (Character Rare) designation.”
