Battle Start Deck Pokemon is the working English name for バトルスタートデッキ (Batoru Sutāto Dekki), one of four Japanese trademark applications reported on October 29, 2026 by premium.gamepedia.jp and PokeGuardian (PokeBeach’s piece covers the three pack-style names). It is a working translation; no official English name exists, and The Pokémon Company has not announced a product under this name, let alone its contents, price or type.
The other three names reported the same day, マグマの鼓動, イナズマの衝撃 and オーロラの波紋, read like expansion-pack titles. バトルスタートデッキ reads like a deck product, and the Japanese starter-deck lineage is the only solid ground available for thinking about it. This guide lays that lineage out from the official product pages, shows what is fixed and what is random in earlier products, and keeps the speculation labelled as speculation.
We sell Japanese sealed product and graded singles from Tokyo. The name is a filing only, so there is nothing to list under it; the starter products we currently list are in the last section. USD figures convert at ¥154/USD and are approximate.
- Reported, not announced: バトルスタートデッキ was one of four marks reported on October 29, 2026. Contents, price, deck count and release date are all unknown.
- The lineage is the guide: in the table below, every product named スタートデッキ is a single 60-card deck at an official price between ¥550 and ¥891, and three of the thirteen product lines use random decks.
- The ex★ link is speculation: premium.gamepedia.jp guesses at beginner decks built around ex★ Pokémon. No official source connects the mark to ex★.
- Timing: the eight verified trademark-to-release precedents are all pack sets, none a deck product. For a current Start Deck line, see the MEGA Start Deck 100 Battle Collection.
What Was Reported on October 29, 2026
premium.gamepedia.jp reported on October 29, 2026 that バトルスタートデッキ was registered (商標登録) by 任天堂株式会社, 株式会社クリーチャーズ and 株式会社ゲームフリーク, together with マグマの鼓動, イナズマの衝撃 and オーロラの波紋. PokeGuardian reported the same four marks on October 29, 2026 and says they hint at possible new 2027 TCG sets. PokeBeach’s piece covers the three pack-style names. premium.gamepedia.jp gives no application number, filing date or class; PokeGuardian reports Class 28 (games, toys and playthings), the class used for earlier set-name filings, and we could not verify the class ourselves.

These are Japanese trademark applications reported on October 29, 2026 by fan sites. They are not announced by The Pokémon Company. When we searched J-PlatPat, the Japan Patent Office database, on October 29, 2026, the filings had not yet appeared; the March 2026 Hadou Seeker filing (商願2026-021914, filed March 2, 2026) is visible and still shows as a pending application. J-PlatPat indexes new applications with a lag of days to weeks, so the absence says nothing against the reports, and the Hadou Seeker case shows why we write „reported trademark filings“ rather than registered marks: that product is officially dated for Friday, November 27, 2026 on the official product page while its mark still shows as pending.
There is no page for バトルスタートデッキ on pokemon-card.com. The other three names are covered in our ex★ 2027 round-up, and the sibling guides cover Magma Heartbeat, Lightning Impact and Aurora Ripples.
What the Name Tells Us: The Start Deck Lineage
バトルスタートデッキ joins バトル (battle) to スタートデッキ (start deck). The second half is a naming line with a history. The official スタートデッキ products in the table below are:
- スタートデッキ100 (Friday, December 17, 2021): one 60-card deck from 100 numbered decks, with which deck you receive left to chance.
- exスタートデッキ (Friday, July 7, 2023): eight fixed deck types, plus a separate おまかせ version that gives one of ten decks at random.
- exスタートデッキ テラスタル (Friday, November 24, 2023): two fixed decks, sold at Pokémon Center and Pokémon Gym only.
- MEGA スタートデッキ100 バトルコレクション (Friday, December 19, 2025): one 60-card deck from 100 types, always containing two or more Pokémon ex.
Two details matter for reading the new mark. First, the word バトル already appears in the lineage: Japan’s バトルアカデミー is the Friday, March 8, 2024 product, a four-deck fixed box that succeeded ファミリーポケモンカードゲーム, and the 2025 Start Deck line is called バトルコレクション. The Battle Academy boxes of 2019/2020 and 2022 are English-language products released through pokemon.com, not Japanese ones. Second, the スタート and スターター families are different lines: the スターターセット products are fixed decks with a coin and playmat, while the スタートデッキ products are single decks at lower prices.
The name therefore fits a deck product, which is a reading of the name and not a fact about the product. The same name could attach to a single deck, a random-deck line or a multi-deck box; all of that is unknown. The official record also lists スタートデッキ Generations (Friday, November 22, 2024, official page) and Vスタートデッキ (official page), which shows the スタートデッキ name has been used with a modifier before.
How Japanese Starter Products Have Been Priced and Packed
The table covers thirteen Japanese starter and beginner product lines from the official pages linked in the first column. Prices are official list prices, not our store prices; our own listings are covered in the last section. Every release date in the table is a Friday.

What the table shows
Reading across the rows gives four patterns, each a statement about the table and not a prediction. The five スタートデッキ-named rows are all single decks, between ¥550 and ¥891 in official price. The スターターセット rows are fixed decks at ¥1,800 each with a coin and playmat. The multi-deck boxes, ファミリー and バトルアカデミー, sit between ¥1,980 (before tax) and ¥3,290 for the full version. And random contents appear in some rows: スタートデッキ100, おまかせexスタートデッキ and MEGA スタートデッキ100 バトルコレクション.
Our guides to two of these lines go deeper: the Start Deck 100 Battle Collection guide and the Starter Set ex comparison, with MEGA Premium Trainer Box vs Start Deck 100 as a comparison of the 100-deck format with a different product.
Could It Be the ex★ Entry Product?
The ex★ link is speculation. premium.gamepedia.jp makes the ex★-deck guess explicitly, suggesting that バトルスタートデッキ could be beginner decks built around ex★ Pokémon. PokeGuardian says the four marks “probably” refer to the ex Star series, without saying which product each one is. The official side is smaller: ex★ is a series logo shown on August 31, 2026; the only official content so far is the reveal video (Mega Lucario Z ex, four MA rarity cards, Entei / Raikou / Suicune on screen). No release date, product, price or set code is announced, and no official source connects any of the four marks to ex★.

What the lineage does offer is a precedent for starter products arriving alongside an expansion. The most recent MEGA スターターセットex has the same official date, Friday, July 31, 2026, as the expansion ストームエメラルダ (M6). That is one coincidence of dates in a thirteen-row table, not a pattern, and it says nothing about what ships with ex★. Our ex★ announcement article covers the video itself.
What to check when an official page appears
If an official page for バトルスタートデッキ is published, the table’s own columns are the questions: how many decks and which Pokémon; whether the decks are fixed or random; the price per deck; what comes with the deck (a coin, playmat, damage counters or a promo); and whether sales are limited to certain channels, as the テラスタル decks were. Until then every one of those answers is unknown.
Trademark Filings and Release Timing
premium.gamepedia.jp discusses January 2027 or April 2027 for the three pack-style names, not for バトルスタートデッキ. The table pairs eight earlier set names with the date premium.gamepedia.jp reported the trademark and the release date on the official pokemon-card.com product page.
| Set | Trademark reported | Official release | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| テラスタルフェスex (SV8a) | June 5, 2024 | Fri, Dec 6, 2024 | about 6.0 months |
| ロケット団の栄光 (SV10) | June 5, 2024 | Fri, Apr 18, 2025 | about 10.4 months |
| バトルパートナーズ (SV9) | July 31, 2024 | Fri, Jan 24, 2025 | about 5.8 months |
| 熱風のアリーナ (SV9a) | September 2, 2024 | Fri, Mar 14, 2025 | about 6.3 months |
| ブラックボルト / ホワイトフレア (SV11B/W) | September 2, 2024 | Fri, Jun 6, 2025 | about 9.1 months |
| ストームエメラルダ (M6) | June 24, 2025 | Fri, Jul 31, 2026 | about 13.2 months |
| MEGAドリームex (M2a) | June 27, 2025 | Fri, Nov 28, 2025 | about 5.1 months |
| ハドウシーカー (M7) | March 10, 2026 | Fri, Nov 27, 2026 | about 8.6 months |
The gap ran from about 5.1 to 13.2 months, median about seven and a half. Applied to an October 29, 2026 report, that points to spring to summer 2027, and a January 2027 release would be shorter than any verified case. This is a projection from eight cases, not a rule, and there is a second limit: all eight are pack sets, so none of them says how long a deck product takes. The range may not apply to バトルスタートデッキ at all.
MEGA×MEGAパレード is outside the table because it has no official page: PokeBeach reported on August 25, 2026 that it releases on Friday, February 19, 2027; it is not on the official site as of October 29, 2026. The 2027 release schedule tracker keeps the status of each date.

Where to Buy Japanese Starter Products
Because the name is a filing only, there is nothing to list under it. What we currently list are the existing Japanese starter products. The MEGA Start Deck 100 Battle Collection is currently listed at ¥1,097 (~$7). The fixed-deck lines are the Starter Set ex Zorua & Zoroark ex at ¥1,584 (~$10) and the Starter Set ex Sprigatito & Meowscarada ex at ¥1,796 (~$12). Starter Set ex Eevee ex has no listed price at the time of writing, so sourcing requests for it go through Quick Order.

For a larger deck-based product, the 30th CELEBRATION Premium Deck Set Espeon & Umbreon is currently listed at ¥17,999 (~$117).

The set pages and the card list hub and Mega-era card list show the cards inside released sets with official images. Sourcing requests for a specific starter product or card go through Schnellbestellung, and dated official releases are on our Japanese TCG release calendar.
Häufig gestellte Fragen
What is the Battle Start Deck (バトルスタートデッキ) trademark?
It is a Japanese trademark application for バトルスタートデッキ, reported on October 29, 2026 by premium.gamepedia.jp and PokeGuardian. Battle Start Deck is a working English translation; no official English name exists, and The Pokémon Company has not announced a product under the name.
Is the Battle Start Deck an official Pokemon TCG product?
No. It is a reported trademark filing only. There is no page for it on pokemon-card.com as of October 29, 2026, and its contents, price, deck count and release date are all unknown.
How much could a Battle Start Deck cost?
The price is unknown. For reference, the official list prices of earlier Japanese starter products ran from 550 yen for the exスタートデッキ to 891 yen for the MEGA スタートデッキ100 バトルコレクション among single-deck lines, and 1,800 yen each for the スターターセット products. These are precedents, not a forecast for this name.
