This Suicune Pokémon card checklist covers the 25 entries the official Japanese card database lists for スイクン (Suicune), from the Diamond & Pearl era onward, as of October 29, 2026. It gives each entry’s set code, card number, illustrator and HP in one table, and then explains what the table shows.
The scope is deliberate. The database does not hold old-back, e-series or PCG-era cards, so a few well-known Suicune cards are not in the checklist; they are set apart in their own section below, with only the details our own guides document. The table carries no prices. Prices for the Suicune cards we list sit in a separate section, linked to the product pages.
- The official database lists 25 Suicune entries: 16 plain Suicune, 5 Suicune V, 2 Suicune GX and 2 LEGEND combination cards. HP runs from 70 (the DP3 entry) to 210 (every Suicune V).
- Four entries carry a number above their set’s printed count, which marks them as secret prints: 215/172, 068/067, 221/190 and 098/095. The database does not print rarity letters.
- Ayaka Yoshida is credited on five entries, more than any other illustrator. Our Suicune Japanese cards guide tells the longer story of the prints.
The Checklist: All 25 Database Entries
The table lists every Suicune entry the official Japanese card database returns for the name, as of October 29, 2026. Card names, set codes and numbers are copied as the database prints them. The rows are in reading order, which is not a release-date claim; dates appear below only where our guides state them.

The database prints the number of the Pokédex entry, No.245, and the category オーロラポケモン (the Aurora Pokémon) on the plain Suicune cards. The Suicune V and GX entries and the two LEGEND cards print neither.
Reading the Table: What the 25 Entries Add Up To

A few counts fall straight out of the table, and they are worth stating because the questions people ask about Suicune cards usually come down to them.
| Question | Answer from the 25 entries |
|---|---|
| How many are plain Suicune, V, GX or LEGEND? | 16 plain スイクン, 5 スイクンV, 2 スイクンGX, 2 LEGEND combination cards |
| Which HP values appear? | 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120, 130, 160, 180 and 210; 120 appears on 9 entries, 210 appears on all five Suicune V |
| Which entries have a number above the set count? | S12a 215/172, S7D 068/067, S4a 221/190, SM8 098/095 |
| Which entries carry a promo-style denominator? | LP 060/L-P and 063/L-P, XYP 205/XY-P, S-P 150/S-P, SV-P 194/SV-P |
| Who is credited most often? | Ayaka Yoshida, 5 entries; so-taro and Kuroimori, 3 each; Mitsuhiro Arita, 5ban Graphics and Shinji Higuchi, 2 each |
| How many illustrator credits appear in all? | 14 different names, with eight of them credited once |
Two cautions. First, the database does not print rarity letters, so this article never labels a database entry as SR, SAR or RR on its own authority; where a letter appears below, it is quoting one of our listing names. Second, a number above the set count tells you the print is a secret-numbered one, not which finish it has.
The lowest-HP entry is the DP3 card, a Level 44 Suicune with HP 70 whose Poké-Power アクアリカバー lets you, when you play it from your hand to the Bench, pick up to three Pokémon from your discard pile, show them and add them to your hand (rendering). It is the only entry in the list with a Poké-Power, an older rules term that no longer appears on the later cards.
The 16 Plain Suicune Entries and Their Card Text
Sixteen of the 25 entries are the plain スイクン, and they sort into a handful of text families. The table groups them by what the card says. The English is a rendering of the printed Japanese for each attack or ability, once per family.
| Entries sharing the text | Attacks and abilities, printed names | Effect (rendering) |
|---|---|---|
| MC 174/742, SVM 031/175, SV-P 194/SV-P (all Kuroimori, HP 120) | かけぬける 30; オーロラビーム 100 | The first attack also does 30 damage to one of the opponent’s Benched Pokémon (Bench damage ignores weakness and resistance). The second attack is a plain 100. |
| S3 016/100, S4a 033/190, S4a 221/190, S-P 150/S-P (so-taro on three, Kagemaru Himeno on 221/190; HP 120) | スプラッシュ 20; オーロラループ 130 | The second attack puts two Energy attached to this Pokémon back into your hand. |
| XY9-B 020/080, XYP 205/XY-P (both Mitsuhiro Arita, HP 120) | Ability かぜのまもり; オーロラビーム 110 | While this Pokémon is in the Battle position, your Pokémon are not affected by the effects of the opponent’s Pokémon’s attacks (effects already in place stay). |
| M2 026/080 (Takeshi Nakamura, HP 130) | クリスタルフォール 30+ | If you have four or more Energy in play on your side, 90 more damage. |
| SM7a 018/060 (Anesaki Dynamic, HP 110) | Ability いてつくすいりゅう; オーロラゲイン 70 | Once during your turn, if in the Battle position, switch the opponent’s Active Pokémon with a Benched one (the opponent chooses). The attack heals 30 from this Pokémon. |
| CP5 010/036 (Yoshinobu Saito, HP 100) | スパイラルドレイン 20; オーロラビーム 80 | The first attack heals 20 from this Pokémon. |
| KK 004/018 (kawayoo, HP 100) | Ability しんぴのまもり; オーロラビーム 70 | This Pokémon takes no damage or effects from attacks by Pokémon-EX. |
| LP 060/L-P (Hideaki Hakozaki, HP 80) | ぜったいれいど 50 | Flip a coin; on heads, the defending Pokémon cannot use attacks during the opponent’s next turn. |
| LP 063/L-P (Ayaka Yoshida, HP 90) | Poké-Body しんそく; つなみ | Retreat cost is reduced by the number of Energy attached. The attack does 20 damage to each of the opponent’s Pokémon (Bench damage ignores weakness and resistance). |
The practical reading: the three Kuroimori cards are one card text printed in three products, and the so-taro/Himeno cards are another text printed four times. The two Arita entries are likewise one text in two products. In each family, what differs between entries is the product, the number and, in one case, the illustrator, not the rules.

The Arita pair is the one with a dedicated illustrator guide: see our Mitsuhiro Arita Pokémon cards guide for his wider body of work. The plain entry M2 026/080 is credited to Takeshi Nakamura; our guides give its set release as Friday, September 26, 2025, and our M2 card list shows what we list from it.

Suicune V and Suicune GX
Seven of the 25 entries are rule-box cards. The five Suicune V all print HP 210 and one shared text; the two Suicune GX print HP 180 and another.
| Karte | Entries | Text (rendering) |
|---|---|---|
| スイクンV | S7D 001/067, S7D 068/067, SI 092/414, S12a 024/172, S12a 215/172 | Ability しゅんそく: once during your turn, if in the Battle position, draw 1 card. Attack ブリザードロンド 20+: 20 more damage for each Benched Pokémon on both sides. When a Pokémon V is knocked out, the opponent takes 2 Prize cards. |
| スイクンGX | SM8 028/095, SM8 098/095 | Ability げんえいのかぜ: if on the Bench, once during your turn, put this Pokémon and all attached cards back into your deck and shuffle. Attack キュアストリーム 120: the defending Pokémon’s attacks do 30 less damage next turn. GX attack ブライニクルGX 150: switch with a Benched Pokémon. Two Prize cards on knock-out. |

Four of the five Suicune V credit Ayaka Yoshida. The odd one out is S12a 215/172, credited to Atsushi Furusawa, and it is also one of the four secret-numbered entries; see our Atsushi Furusawa artist guide for the illustrator’s wider work. S7D has two Suicune V (001/067 and the secret-numbered 068/067), and S12a, the VSTAR Universe high-class pack, has two as well; the S12a card list shows what we list from that set.

Both Suicune GX are from SM8, which our legendary-beasts guide dates to Friday, September 7, 2018. Their text and illustrator are identical, so the pair is told apart by number: 028/095 sits within the set count and 098/095 above it.
The Two LEGEND Combination Cards
The database holds two of the three Legendary-Beast LEGEND cards in the L2-B numbering range 063 to 068 of 080: Suicune & Entei LEGEND (065/080 top, 066/080 bottom) and Raikou & Suicune LEGEND (067/080 top, 068/080 bottom). Both are credited to Shinji Higuchi and print HP 160. The third combination, Entei & Raikou, does not feature Suicune and so is outside this checklist.

| Karte | Attacks, printed names | Effect (rendering) |
|---|---|---|
| スイクン&エンテイLEGEND | げきりゅうのやいば; バーストインフェルノ 80 | The first attack puts two Energy attached to this Pokémon back into your hand and does 100 damage to one of the opponent’s Benched Pokémon. The second attack, 80 damage, burns the defending Pokémon. |
| ライコウ&スイクンLEGEND | らいでんのやり 150; オーロラゲイン 50 | The first attack also does 50 damage to this Pokémon, and that damage ignores weakness. The second attack heals 50 from this Pokémon. |
A LEGEND card is two physical cards, a top and a bottom, played together onto the Bench; when the combined Pokémon is knocked out, the opponent takes 2 Prize cards. Our guides date Reviving Legends, the set that holds these cards, to Thursday, February 11, 2010. The Pokémon LEGEND cards guide explains the format, and the Entei, Raikou and Suicune card value guide covers the three combinations together.

| Suicune : Old Back [neo3 No.245] | Not in the database | ¥252,606 (~$1,640) |
The rarity letters in that table are quoted from our listing names (the database does not print them). Each of these is offered as a PSA 10 back order. For these ordered by price, see the Suicune PSA 10 ranking.
The other 22 checklist entries are not part of that list. If you would rather open product, the SM8 booster box is the sealed route to the two Suicune GX prints in the checklist.
Contents of a sealed box are not something this checklist can promise; it only tells you which cards exist in the set.
Suicune Cards Outside the Database
The table lists Suicune cards that are not among the 25 entries: cards from before the database’s coverage, the Classic Suicune ex that has no database entry, and English-set cards whose Japanese counterparts our sources do not map. It gives what our own guides record about them, and nothing more.
| Karte | What our guides record | Not in our sources |
|---|---|---|
| Suicune, Old Back, neo3 No.245 (Awakening Legends) | Set released Thursday, November 23, 2000; English Neo Revelation counterparts are numbered #14/64 (Rare Holo) and #27/64 (Rare), HP 70, illustrator Ken Sugimori. Our listing carries the old-back No.245 numbering. | The Japanese card number and which version the listing is |
| Suicune Gold Star (Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean) | Japanese 032/106 (English 115/115), HP 80, illustrator Masakazu Fukuda; the Japanese set was released Friday, April 8, 2005. | Price and an own-hosted image |
| Rocket’s Suicune ex (EX Team Rocket Returns) | English #105/109 in the EX era | Japanese number and image |
| Suicune, Secret Wonders / Shining Darkness | English #19/132 Rare Holo | Japanese number and illustrator |
| Suicune, Plasma Blast | English #20/101 Rare | Japanese counterpart |
| Suicune ex, Pokémon Card Game Classic (CLK 010/032) | One of the Legendary ex cards in the Blastoise Water deck, new artwork | Illustrator, rarity and HP; no スイクンex entry is among the 25 |
Numbers marked English follow English-set numbering, which differs from the Japanese numbering used in the checklist. Our Japanese old-back guide and Pokémon Card Game Classic guide cover the first and last rows in full.
The October 29, 2026 Trademark Report
On October 29, 2026 premium.gamepedia.jp and PokeGuardian reported a Japanese trademark filing for 「オーロラの波紋」 (Aurora Ripples is a working English translation; no official English name exists), which collectors read as a possible Suicune set; nothing is announced. Our Aurora Ripples trademark and Suicune guide explains what is confirmed and what is not, and the ex★ trademark round-up covers all four names reported that day.
