Facing a New Trial (SM2+) released in Japan on April 21, 2017 with 49 numbered cards, per Bulbapedia’s expansion list as of September 15, 2026. It holds three Darkrai GX prints, and Bulbapedia pairs them with English Burning Shadows 88, 139 and 158. The two in the database list 180 HP under the product 強化拡張パック「新たなる試練の向こう」.

Darkrai GX RR, SM2p 040/049

DB ID 33507, credited to PLANETA. Bulbapedia pairs it with Burning Shadows 88/147 (Ultra-Rare Rare) and captions the regular print as illustrated by PLANETA. We do not list a PSA 10 for it.

Darkrai GX SR, SM2p 055/049

DB ID 35645, credited to 5ban Graphics, with the number above the printed set total. Bulbapedia pairs it with Burning Shadows 139/147 and captions the English card as a Full Art print by 5ban Graphics. Limitless credits BUS 139 to 5ban Graphics as well.

The database text, as printed: a Basic Darkness-type Pokemon GX with 180 HP, weakness Fighting ×2, resistance Psychic -20 and retreat cost two Colorless. Its ability リザレクション works when this card is in your discard pile: once during your turn you put it on your Bench, then attach one Energy from your discard pile to it. The attack やみのさけめ costs Darkness, Darkness and Colorless, deals 130 and ignores resistance. The GX attack デッドエンドGX costs the same and knocks out the opponent’s Active Pokemon if it has a Special Conditie; a player can use only one GX attack per game. The special rule gives the opponent 2 Prize cards when a Pokemon GX is knocked out.

We list this print as a PSA 10 back order at ¥53,754 (~$349) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms. On SNKRDUNK the lowest ask on the card row was ¥9,500 (~$62) and the lowest PSA 10 listing ask was ¥28,000 (~$182), both as of September 30, 2026 (asking prices, not sales). The two figures come from different parts of the SNKRDUNK page and need not line up with each other or with our price.

Darkrai GX HR, Facing a New Trial 063/049 (Bulbapedia only)

The database has no row for this number, so there is no official image to show. Bulbapedia’s Darkrai-GX page lists a Facing a New Trial 063/049 HR paired with Burning Shadows 158/147 (Rare Rainbow), and captions the English card as a Rainbow Rare print illustrated by 5ban Graphics. We do not list a PSA 10 for it, and there is no SNKRDUNK figure for it in this update.

GX Ultra Shiny (SM8b): SSR 230/150

Darkrai GX SSR, SM8b 230/150

DB ID 36119, credited to 5ban Graphics, from ハイクラスパック「GXウルトラシャイニー」. GX Ultra Shiny released in Japan on November 2, 2018 with 150 numbered cards, and Bulbapedia’s list pairs it with English Hidden Fates (Shiny Vault). Bulbapedia pairs the SSR with Hidden Fates SV70/SV94 (Rare Shiny GX), and Limitless credits HIF SV70 to 5ban Graphics. The database gives the same 180 HP and the same ability, attack and GX attack text as the SR.

We list this print as a PSA 10 at ¥37,700 (~$245) and as a back order at ¥36,975 (~$240). On SNKRDUNK the lowest ask on the card row was ¥21,800 (~$142) and the lowest PSA 10 listing ask was ¥36,250 (~$235), both as of September 30, 2026.

How to Identify Which Darkrai GX You Hold

1. Read the set mark. SM2p is Facing a New Trial, SM4p is GX Battle Boost, SM8b is GX Ultra Shiny.
2. Check the number. 040/049 and 064/114 are inside their set totals (RR); 055/049 is above the total of 49 (SR); 230/150 is above the total of 150 (SSR).
3. Look at the illustrator line. PLANETA means 040/049 or 064/114; 5ban Graphics means 055/049 or 230/150 (Bulbapedia also credits 5ban Graphics on the HR 063/049, which the database does not list).
4. Read the card name. ダークライGX alone is this card; a name that pairs ダークライ with a second Pokemon is a tag-team card.
