Miracle Twin (SM11), released May 31, 2019, is where Misty’s Favor first appeared — a Supporter card that lets you search your deck for up to three Supporter cards and add them to your hand, a straightforward consistency Supporter. The set printed it twice: a regular Uncommon at 085/094, and a Special Rare treatment at 104/094, both illustrated by Hideki Ishikawa.
The card isn’t Japan-exclusive. The English release, Unified Minds, carries the same Supporter effect as regular 202/236 and gives it a Full Art secret-rare slot at 235/236 — the structural English counterpart to Japan’s 104/094 SR. What differs is the market. Japanese SR copies of this specific card are currently trading well above where we’re listing ours.

The Banned Misty Pokemon Card Explained: What Actually Happened to Misty’s Tears
Misty’s Tears is the card that put Misty on collector radar in the first place, and it’s routinely misdescribed. It was never pulled from circulation, never subject to a recall, and never “banned” by any Pokemon Company decision. What happened is narrower: the artwork was changed for one English printing.
The card first appeared in Japan on April 26, 1998, in the Hanada City Gym theme deck (Hanada is Misty’s home city — Cerulean City in the English localization), where two copies were included in the 64-card deck. It was reprinted later that year in the Leaders’ Stadium expansion (October 24, 1998). Like other cards from Japan’s original Gym-deck era, it carries no set-specific card number in that Japanese release — a gap in the numbering system of the period, not a missing detail we’re leaving out.
Both the Japanese and English artwork were illustrated by Ken Sugimori. The difference is what’s depicted: the Japanese original shows a silhouette of Misty that reads as unclothed. When the card reached English audiences in Gym Challenge (118/132, Uncommon) on October 16, 2000, the artwork was replaced with a different Sugimori illustration — Squirtle trying to catch Misty’s falling tears. That substitution, made ahead of the English print run, is the entire basis for the “banned” reputation the card carries online today.
“Banned” is the search term people use to find this card, so we’re using it in quotes here — but the accurate description is an artwork replacement made before the English print run, not a ban imposed after release. Misty & Lorelei (191/173): The Japan-Only Full Art
Tag team cards paired Misty with fellow Kanto Elite Four member Lorelei in SM12a Tag All Stars, released October 4, 2019. The set printed two versions: a regular Uncommon at 147/173, illustrated by Megumi Mizutani, and a Full Art Special Rare at 191/173, illustrated by Ryuta Fuse. The card searches three Water Energy from the deck to hand, or discards five cards from hand to bring back a used GX attack — a strong late-game reset for Water-type decks.
The English release, Cosmic Eclipse, only carries the regular version at 199/236. No English full art of Misty & Lorelei exists — the 191/173 Full Art is Japan-exclusive, and that exclusivity is the whole reason collectors chase it specifically in the Japanese market rather than waiting for an English equivalent that was never printed.

Misty’s Psyduck AR & Misty’s Lapras AR: The 2025 Pair
Misty’s two signature Pokemon got the Art Rare treatment together in SV9a Heat Wave Arena, released March 14, 2025 — the newest cards in this guide by a wide margin.

Each Pokemon got a regular print plus an Art Rare — Psyduck AR 071/063, illustrated by OKACHEKE, and Lapras AR 072/063, illustrated by Orca — both trainer-scene AR treatments that put Misty herself into the artwork alongside her Pokemon. The English side arrived about ten weeks later in Destined Rivals (May 30, 2025), which carries both Pokemon as Illustration Rares rather than the AR treatment Japan received.

Not the Same Card: Misty’s Determination (CP6 099/087)
One more Misty card is worth flagging separately, purely to prevent a mix-up: Misty’s Determination, numbered 099/087 in CP6, the 20th Anniversary concept pack. It’s a different card from Misty’s Favor covered above — different set, different card number, different effect — and it happens to share enough of a naming resemblance in English that the two get confused in search results and secondhand listings.
