Kyogre and Groudon in 30th Celebration: 013/103 and 068/103 Card Guide

Kyogre and Groudon in 30th Celebration: 013/103 and 068/103 Card Guide

Eight legendary Pokémon are highlighted on the official 30th CELEBRATION product page, and two of them are Hoenn’s weather titans. Kyogre and Groudon in 30th Celebration sit a full 55 card numbers apart in the set — Kyogre at 013/103, Groudon at 068/103 — and each arrives with a single, very on-brand attack.

Neither card is a chase rare. Both are official card-database entries with a named illustrator.

Key Takeaways

Kyogre 013/103: Hydro Pump Scaling

Kyogre 013/103 30th Celebration M6a Japanese Pokemon card
Kyogre 013/103, 30th Celebration (M6a) — official card image

Kyogre lands early in the Water block at 013/103, a confirmed entry in the official card database with illustrator Tonji Matsuno. Its single attack, per PokeBeach’s translation, reads:

Hydro Pump 60+ ([C][C][C][C]) — this attack does 30 more damage for each Water Energy attached to this Pokémon. Weakness Lightning ×2, Retreat cost 4.

That is classic Kyogre design: modest on its face, scaling hard the longer you feed it. At 140 HP it is a straightforward big basic — three attached Water Energy takes Hydro Pump to 150, four to 180. No ability, no drawback, no coin flips.

The official page states that the special-spec reprint cards (the 30-card Classic Collection block) have no regulation letter and are not usable in the current Standard regulation — a rule that, as written, applies to the reprints, not to new cards like this Kyogre.

If Kyogre is your Pokémon, our Kyogre cards value guide ranks every notable printing from Ruby & Sapphire era onwards.

Groudon 068/103: A 250-Damage Attack With a Cost

Groudon 068/103, 30th Celebration (M6a) — official card image

Groudon sits at 068/103, in the Fighting block, a confirmed entry in the official card database with illustrator Takumi Wada. Its attack is the more dramatic of the pair, per PokeBeach’s translation:

Break Ground 250 ([F][F][F][F][F]) — this attack also does 20 damage to each of your own Benched Pokémon. Weakness Grass ×2, Retreat cost 4.

A flat 250 on a single-prize basic is enormous by raw numbers — and thoroughly in character. Groudon cracks the earth and your own bench feels it, each Benched Pokémon taking 20 apiece. It is the mirror image of Kyogre’s design: Kyogre builds up patiently, Groudon detonates immediately and makes you live with the fallout.

Groudon collectors can find every earlier printing ranked in our Groudon cards value guide.

The Full Legendary Line-up in 30th Celebration

The official product page highlights eight legendary Pokémon under the banner “legendary Pokémon met across past adventures appear as cards”: Ho-Oh, Lugia, Groudon, Kyogre, Reshiram, Zekrom, Zacian and Zamazenta. That is four generations of cover legendaries in one anniversary checklist — Johto, Hoenn, Unova and Galar. That featured eight is a curated highlight, not the full picture: the official card database shows more than twenty Legendary and Mythical Pokémon across the 103-card main set, including Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos, Miraidon, Mewtwo, Mew, Xerneas, Koraidon, Yveltal, Jirachi ex, Dialga and Solgaleo alongside the featured eight.

The pairing pattern is deliberate. Kyogre and Groudon are version mascots from the same generation, exactly like Zacian and Zamazenta (085 and 086) and Reshiram and Zekrom (008 and 050). We cover the Galar pair in our companion piece on Zacian & Zamazenta in 30th Celebration, and Lugia — who appears twice in the set, as new card 097/103 and as the Crystal Lugia special reprint at 142/103 — gets a full breakdown in our Lugia 30th Celebration guide.

One structural note: the set’s base checklist runs to 103 cards; the compiled secret-rare run above it spans 104–135 (AR 104–123; SAR 124–133; FUR 134–135), with the Classic Collection reprints at 136–165 (all 30 confirmed in the official card list; 151 and 152 are the two halves of Darkrai & Cresselia LEGEND and share one database entry). Kyogre and Groudon both sit inside the base range.

Value Outlook: What the Prediction Sites Said

Snkrdunk’s hit-card forecast (updated 29 August 2026) concentrated on the top of the set — the FUR pair, the Day/Night Pikachu ex SARs and the marquee reprints — and did not list Kyogre or Groudon, which sit in the base checklist and are reported as standard Rares. Every figure in that forecast was an unofficial pre-release prediction, not a transaction price. On SNKRDUNK, the lowest asking price for a sealed M6a box fell from ¥47,200 on September 1 to ¥28,200 on September 10 and ¥17,500 on September 16, 2026, against the ¥7,200 (~$47) MSRP for a 20-pack box. These are asks, not sale prices.

The 25th Anniversary Precedent

The best available evidence for how an anniversary set treats its legendary checklist is the one from five years ago. The 2021 25th Anniversary Collection (S8a) also packed its list with franchise icons.
