Pokemon 30th Anniversary Cards & Products Guide 2026

Pokemon 30th Anniversary Cards & Products Guide 2026

Pokemon turns 30 in 2026, and the Pokemon Card Laboratory marked it with an entire product line rather than a single set. The headline release is called 30th CELEBRATION — a MEGA-era expansion pack (internal code M6a) that released alongside a premium deck set and a limited FUTURISTIC BOX, with a nine-variant card set following a month later.

This guide is the hub for everything we’ve confirmed about the 30th Anniversary lineup: official products and prices, the new FUR (Futuristic Rare) rarity, the headline cards Pokemon has named, and the three RGB Mew secret rares PokeBeach reports were pulled from early-opened boxes. It also links out to our full card-list breakdown, box-buying guide, and character-specific coverage. The official card list was published on September 9, 2026 — card numbers and the full rarity breakdown are now public, and we’ve updated the sections below accordingly. Where a detail still hasn’t been confirmed by Pokemon or a reliable set-list source, we say so instead of guessing.

Key Takeaways

The 30th CELEBRATION booster (M6a) released worldwide on September 16, 2026; the premium deck set (Espeon & Umbreon) and FUTURISTIC BOX released the same day in Japan only; a nine-variant Card Set still follows on October 16, 2026. The compiled card list (official database for 001–103, 136–165 and the 8 Basic Energy; PokeBeach’s compilation for the 104–135 secret-rare block), published September 9, 2026, runs to 165 numbered cards plus 8 Basic Energy (173 in all; PokeBeach’s headline figure is 176): 10 Pokemon ex, 20 Art Rare, 10 Special Art Rare, 2 FUR (Futuristic Rare) — Mew ex and Mewtwo ex — 30 Classic Collection reprints, and all 30 illustrated Pikachu. Three further secret Mew cards — R/RGB, G/RGB and B/RGB, illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN — sit outside that list and outside the /103 numbering; per PokeBeach, they were pulled from early-opened 30th Celebration products and surfaced in a Pokemon TCG Live update on September 15, 2026, and Pokemon has not officially acknowledged them. Now that the set is out, the S8a 25th Anniversary booster box and the Golden Box are both currently listed.

Updated September 16, 2026 — Release Day

30th CELEBRATION (M6a) released worldwide on September 16, 2026; the Premium Deck Set and the FUTURISTIC BOX released the same day in Japan only; here’s what’s changed:

  • Released: the M6a booster released worldwide, and the Premium Deck Set and FUTURISTIC BOX released in Japan only, all on September 16, 2026; the Card Set (×9 variants) still releases October 16
  • Secret rares: all 32 (104–135) have now been seen — the last five surfaced with release-day listings on SNKRDUNK, September 16, 2026 — but the block remains outside the official card database
  • RGB Mew: per PokeBeach (report of September 12, updated September 15, 2026), three secret Mew cards — R/RGB, G/RGB and B/RGB, illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN — were pulled from early-opened boxes and surfaced via a Pokemon TCG Live update on September 15; they sit outside the official list and Pokemon has not acknowledged them
  • Our M6a booster box is currently listed as a pre-order at ¥25,000 (~$162) sealed (the no-shrink option is sold out); the FUTURISTIC BOX is now also listed as a pre-order at ¥79,800 (~$518); the Card Set bundle remains sold out at the time of this update
  • 25th Anniversary product table refreshed: the S8a box is now ¥67,200; the Golden Box is now listed at ¥257,500; the PSA10 Mew ex and Mewtwo EX 25th promos are now sold out; the PSA10 Zekrom promo remains sold out
  • Full card list: every card of the set with its official image, in number order — 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) card list (all 173 cards).
Leaks vs release day: what turned out right

With the set out on September 16, 2026, here is how the pre-release reporting held up:

  • Confirmed — set structure. The list PokeBeach compiled on September 9 (103 main-set cards, AR 104–123, SAR 124–133, FUR 134–135, Classic Collection 136–165, 8 Basic Energy) matched what release day showed; the AR/SAR/FUR block is still outside the official card database, but nothing has contradicted the numbering.
  • Confirmed — the five never-pictured cards. Kommo-o AR 119, Ditto AR 121, Mewtwo ex SAR 128, Mew ex SAR 129 and Gengar ex SAR 131 had never been pictured before release; all five surfaced with release-day listings at exactly those numbers (SNKRDUNK, September 16, 2026). PokeBeach’s projected numbering was right.
  • Confirmed — FUR by YOSHIROTTEN. Mewtwo ex 134/103 and Mew ex 135/103 are the two Futuristic Rare cards, as announced; no SR or MUR tier appeared.
  • Confirmed — one Pikachu per pack. The pre-release box opening PokeBeach reported (20 Pikachu in a 20-pack box) matched the official pack structure.
  • Confirmed — the “RGB Mew”. Three secret Mew cards in red, green and blue, illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN and numbered R/RGB, G/RGB and B/RGB outside the /103 run, were pulled from early-opened 30th Celebration products and surfaced in a Pokémon TCG Live update on September 15, per PokeBeach (September 12, updated September 15, 2026). They sit outside every official list, may stay officially unacknowledged for months, and their pull rate is unknown.
  • Overshot — pre-release price forecasts. Japanese market sites forecast ¥105,000 and up for Mew ex FUR and ¥70,000 and up for Pikachu ex SAR (September 9); the lowest release-day asks on SNKRDUNK were ¥22,222 and ¥11,000–13,000 (asking prices, not sold prices). Sealed boxes followed the same path: ¥47,200 → ¥28,200 → ¥17,500 for the lowest M6a box ask.
  • Still open — pull rates. The Pokémon Company has published none; the pre-release opening remains the only reported structure.

As of this writing, the official 30th Anniversary product page lists four confirmed items. No standalone starter-set SKUs or additional premium decks beyond the Espeon & Umbreon pairing have been published — if you’ve seen other product names floating around, they aren’t on the official list yet.

Product Release date Price (JPY, tax incl.) Price (approx. USD)
30th CELEBRATION booster pack (M6a) — 6 cards/pack 2026-09-16 ¥360 ~$2
30th CELEBRATION Premium Deck Set: Espeon & Umbreon 2026-09-16 ¥6,200 ~$42
30th CELEBRATION FUTURISTIC BOX 2026-09-16 ¥27,500 ~$187
30th CELEBRATION Card Set (9 starter-trio variants) 2026-10-16 ¥1,200 / set ~$8

The M6a booster pack is the core product: six cards per pack, fully randomized. The official card list published September 9, 2026 puts the total set size at 165 numbered cards plus 8 Basic Energy (173 in all; PokeBeach’s headline figure is 176): 103 main-set cards, 32 secret rares, and 30 Classic Collection reprints, plus 8 Basic Energy. Every pack guarantees one of thirty specially commissioned Pikachu illustrations, each drawn by a different artist, plus one basic Energy card, and every card in the set — including basic Energy — carries holofoil treatment and a 30th-anniversary logo. Pokemon Center Online’s official product listing has since confirmed the box configuration: 1 box = 20 packs at ¥7,200 tax included.

The Premium Deck Set pairs two ready-to-play 60-card decks (Espeon ex and Umbreon ex, each with a full-art version of its headliner) with damage counters, two coins, a playmat, and a metal storage tin for both decks. Related Pokemon referenced in the deck materials include Eevee, Victini, Zoroark, and Zeraora.

The FUTURISTIC BOX is built around two exclusive Pikachu ex promo cards illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN — the same artist behind the set’s new FUR rarity — plus metal damage-counter dice, special deck shields, a display frame set, and a rubber playmat. It was announced as a Pokemon Center Online launch item, with in-store availability possible afterward.

The Card Set arrives a month later and covers all nine starter trios from Kanto through Paldea, one set per generation. Each ¥1,200 set includes three shiny-finish promo cards for that generation’s starters, two M6a booster packs, and a display stand.

FUR — Futuristic Rare — is a brand-new rarity tier introduced specifically for this set. It’s illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN, who also did the set’s key visual, and it’s built around saturated color, high-gloss finishing, and 3D-style graphic treatments on the Energy symbols and Poke Ball icons on the card.

Exactly two cards are FUR, and that count is now final — the compiled 173-card list (165 numbered + 8 energy; PokeBeach’s headline figure is 176) published September 9, 2026 shows no other card in the set carries this rarity:

  • Mew ex (135) — Ability “Memory Helix” (per PokeBeach’s translation), which lets it use any attack known by a Pokemon on your bench.
  • Mewtwo ex (134) — Attack “Photon Bullets,” dealing 50 damage to each of your opponent’s Pokemon ex.

The two Pikachu ex promos included in the FUTURISTIC BOX use the same YOSHIROTTEN visual style, but Pokemon’s own product page describes them as promo cards rather than explicitly labeling them FUR — so we’re treating their rarity classification as unconfirmed rather than assuming it matches Mew ex and Mewtwo ex.

Earlier in the summer, a Japanese fan-tracking site published a larger unofficial FUR list (including names like Gardevoir ex, Glaceon ex, Greninja ex, and Jirachi ex). The official card list published September 9 does not bear that out — FUR is confirmed at exactly two cards, and Greninja ex and Jirachi ex instead appear as Special Art Rares (SAR 125 and SAR 132 respectively).

Headline Cards Confirmed

The official card list, published September 9, 2026, gives the full picture: 165 numbered cards plus 8 Basic Energy (173 in all; PokeBeach’s headline figure is 176), split across six blocks. Card numbers below are JP “/103” numbering.

Block Count Status
Pokemon ex (RR, main set) 10 Official database: 009 Fuecoco ex, 015 Greninja ex, 047/048 Pikachu ex (day/night), 055 Mewtwo ex, 057 Mew ex, 059 Sylveon ex, 076 Gengar ex, 081 Jirachi ex, 088 Salamence ex
Art Rare (AR) 20 (104–123) All 20 now seen; the last shown were Kommo-o (119) and Ditto (121), with release-day listings September 16, 2026
Special Art Rare (SAR) 10 (124–133) All 10 now seen; last shown were Mewtwo ex (128), Mew ex (129) and Gengar ex (131), with release-day listings September 16, 2026
Futuristic Rare (FUR) 2 (134–135) Mewtwo ex, Mew ex — both YOSHIROTTEN, both shown since June
Classic Collection 30 (136–165) All confirmed in the official database, incl. Charizard (137) and Pikachu & Zekrom-GX (160)
Pikachu subset 30 (017–046) All 30 illustrators confirmed in the official database

The AR/SAR/FUR block (104–135) is still compiled from official promotional images and marketplace listings rather than the card database itself — all 32 secret rares have now been seen, the last five with release-day listings on SNKRDUNK (September 16, 2026), but the block remains outside the official database. Every pack of the M6a booster is also guaranteed one card from the 30-illustrator Pikachu subset, which Pokemon is positioning as the pull-focused centerpiece of the release across all thirty designs, not any single “best” one.

Beyond the confirmed ex and secret-rare blocks, other legendary Pokemon in the main set include Ho-Oh (007), Lugia (097), Groudon (068), Kyogre (013), Reshiram (008), and Zekrom (050), alongside Zacian (085) and Zamazenta (086). Lapras (AR 106) and Hisuian Zorua (AR 122) are confirmed Art Rares within the 20-card AR block. Espeon ex and Umbreon ex are the full-art headliners of the Premium Deck Set (set code MF, card list also published September 9), and the two Pikachu ex FUR-style promos remain exclusive to the FUTURISTIC BOX.

Looking one step past the anniversary set itself: the official ex★ announcement from the Worlds 2026 closing ceremony on August 31 names only the series logo and Mega Lucario Z ex. Other cards — Riolu, Sigilyph ex, and Mega-Attack-style prints of Darkrai, Greninja, Rayquaza, and Zygarde — can be seen as card prints in the official reveal video but are not named in the announcement text, and Pokemon has published no product names, set codes, or dates for the ex★ series. We’ll fold ex★ coverage into this cluster once official product details exist.

The “RGB Mew”: What We Know (and Don’t)

Three secret-rare Mew cards — one red, one green, one blue, illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN and numbered R/RGB, G/RGB and B/RGB, outside the /103 run — were pulled from early-opened 30th Celebration products, per PokeBeach (report of September 12, 2026, updated September 15). Both English and Japanese versions are pictured in PokeBeach’s report; the three cards were also surfaced through an internal Pokemon TCG Live update on September 15. They represent the original Pokemon Red, Green and Blue games.

The three RGB Mew cards are not in the official card database, not in the compiled 165-card list, and not in the Elite Trainer Box card-list booklet. PokeBeach expects them to remain officially unacknowledged for months, since Japan typically reveals a set’s secret rares only when the following set releases. Pull rates are unknown — PokeBeach calls them “expected to be exceptionally rare” — and no marketplace price has appeared in this batch. This is separate from the set’s two official Mew ex slots (SAR 129 and FUR 135, both YOSHIROTTEN), which have also now been seen. If you want the full story as it’s developed, our dedicated write-up covers it: RGB Mew 30th Celebration secret rare leak.

Confirmed Pulled, Not Yet Officially Acknowledged

The three RGB Mew cards were pulled from early-opened boxes and reported by PokeBeach (September 12, updated September 15, 2026); they also surfaced in a Pokemon TCG Live update the same week. Pokemon itself has not officially confirmed them, they do not appear in the compiled 165-card list, and no pull rate or price is published. Don’t buy or price against them as if they were a listed, officially numbered set card.

Presale Access and the September 16 Launch

Pokemon Center Japan ran a presale lottery for the M6a booster ahead of the set’s release, aimed at controlling in-store crowding. It covered five specific Aeon Mall / LaLaport store locations, with entries accepted August 21 through September 8 (23:59) and results announced from September 10 at noon via the Pokemon Center LINE mini-app, which was also the only way to apply. Winners can purchase on designated dates between September 16 and October 4, in 10:00–10:30 windows each day, with a limit of 10 packs per person. There is no general walk-in sale at these locations.

Online, Pokemon Center Online sells the M6a box and Premium Deck Set by lottery only — no first-come sales. Its additional lottery round took applications from August 28 until August 31, 2026 at 16:59 JST, so that window is long closed; results went out from September 4 (box from 13:00, deck set from 17:00), payment was due by September 8, and the higher-priority entry tier requires My Number card identity verification. Note the shipping dates: lottery-won boxes ship November 11–20 and deck sets November 1–15 — well after the September 16 release date.

Outside of those lotteries, the booster pack released worldwide on September 16, 2026, and the Premium Deck Set and FUTURISTIC BOX released the same day in Japan only, per both Pokemon’s own product pages and independent set-tracking coverage. Bulbapedia also notes the set was teased during Pokemon Day 2026, Pokemon’s annual February anniversary event, though the specifics of that reveal aren’t fully documented yet. A separate lottery window ran specifically for the FUTURISTIC BOX and Card Set: Pokemon Center Online additional-lottery applications ran September 11, 16:00 – September 16, 16:59 JST, with results due September 30, per SNKRDUNK’s lottery roundup (September 9, 2026).
