Mega Absol ex (メガアブソルex) is a Darkness-type Basic Pokemon with 280 HP, weak to Grass, and a retreat cost of 2. There is an older Pokemon card that shares almost the same name: M Absol EX (アブソルEX), a promo card from the XY Promotional Cards (XYP) series, printed during the 2014-era EX mechanic — more than a decade before Mega Brave. It is a different card in every respect that matters: 210 HP against the 2025 card’s 280, illustrated by 5ban Graphics rather than aky CG Works or Mitsuhiro Arita, and built on the older “EX” mechanic rather than the “ex” mechanic the MEGA Series uses. Its English equivalent is XY Promos #63.
