The Japanese set puts the same three birds through two separate print runs each — a regular main-set card and an Art Rare — with abilities that only switch on once all three are on the field together. The English Poster Collection ($14.99 MSRP, per PokeBeach’s June 30, 2026 lineup article) contains three booster packs, promo cards for Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres (MEP EN #096–098), and a two-sided poster. In Japan, the same three birds each have a regular main-set print (006, 012, 049/103) and an Art Rare (105, 107, 108/103) — six cards in total, drawn from the Japanese Booster Box rather than a promo product. We do not sell the English Poster Collection; it is described here only for comparison.

The English Poster Collection
Per PokeBeach’s product-lineup article, the Poster Collection ($14.99 MSRP) released September 16, 2026 with “three 30th Celebration booster packs; three promo cards featuring Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres; and one full-size, two-sided poster featuring cards found in the 30th Celebration expansion.” The three promo cards carry their own numbers in the MEP EN promo range: #096 Moltres, #097 Articuno and #098 Zapdos; pokemon.com’s promo pages don’t publish card stats or attack text for these three.
This is a Western-market product built around the three birds as a themed trio — three packs, three matching promos and a poster, sold as one box. We describe it here purely to compare against what the same three birds look like in the Japanese set; we do not sell it and it is not shipped from our store.
The Japanese Birds: Regular Prints and Art Rares
Unlike the English Poster Collection, the Japanese 30th Celebration set doesn’t bundle the three birds into their own promo product. Each bird has a regular main-set print pulled from Booster Box packs — Moltres 006/103, Articuno 012/103, Zapdos 049/103 — all illustrated by HYOGONOSUKE, all 120 HP Basic Pokémon. Each also has an Art Rare version: Moltres AR 105/103, Articuno AR 107/103, Zapdos AR 108/103. The AR/SAR/FUR block (104–135) is compiled from official images and reveal coverage rather than the official card database — all 32 secret rares in that block have now been seen, the last five surfacing with release-day listings on SNKRDUNK, September 16, 2026, but the block itself is still not officially listed. AR illustrators are unpublished for this trio, so the Art Rare artwork is not pictured here; the images in this guide show each bird’s regular print.
The Interlocking Ability
All three Japanese birds share the same design idea: each has an Ability that only activates once all three Pokemon are in play together, and each attaches a free Basic Energy when it does. Whether the English promo trio carries the same Ability text isn’t stated on pokemon.com’s promo pages, which publish artwork but not attacks or Abilities.

Each bird also carries its own attack: Moltres’ Fire Spin does 130 for two Fire and a Colorless Energy, discarding two Energy from itself; Articuno’s Hail does 30 to each of the opponent’s Pokemon for two Water and a Colorless; Zapdos’ Thundering Lightning does 210 for three Lightning and a Colorless, at the cost of 60 damage to itself. None of the three has a listed Weakness against a common type — Moltres is weak to Water, Articuno to Metal, Zapdos to Fighting.

The clearest practical difference: the English promos come as a themed bundle with a poster, while the Japanese versions are ordinary pulls from the main expansion, split across a common print and a secret-rare print with no bundling at all.
Release-Day Snapshot
None of the three birds’ AR prints has a dated marketplace figure in this update — SNKRDUNK’s release-day tracking (September 16, 2026) covers other secret rares in the set but not Moltres AR, Articuno AR or Zapdos AR specifically. On SNKRDUNK, the lowest asking price for a sealed M6a Booster Box went from ¥47,200 on September 1 to ¥28,200 on September 10 and ¥17,500 on release day, September 16, 2026 — the box these birds are pulled from.
